Dollmore Kid discussion part 3

Aug 18, 2011

    1. Yaaaay first page spam... still not sure what my girl is named. Thinking something like Lee. or Leeloo hahaha i dunno

here she is thinking about it.

    2. I kinda like Leela for her. It's a very pretty name.

Now, on to some Aria spam from a while back:

    3. I think I might actually give in and get the beautiful dollpire set I was asking about. Does anyone know how long it takes for it to come after it's ordered? Thanks!

    4. It depends on a lot of different factors. It's an older fullset so it might be ready to go and it could be days. I ordered one over a year old once and his parts were out of stock and I had to wait a month. If it's not ready to go, and the faceup is the only thing they have to do it can take a few weeks.

Two of my LE's took 20 days from order to arrival, my basics have taken less time than that (if blank), even a few days. It's tough to gauge...a month is the longest I've waited from Dollmore, two days the shortest, everything else in between. Other people out there have waited longer.

    5. 2 more weeks before they ship my Gothic Aidan girl Hana Dollmore say. Hope it won`t be much more to wait. I just can`t wait to get her home:aheartbea.

And make her a part of my little vampire family. She is going to be a friend of the family and best friend to my Renee boy. But she is very close to the family and they look at her like family. She is human though. A human with vampire friends:)

How I have missed owning a Dollmore Kid Girl :3nodding: I have had 2 DMK girls before her but ended up selling them. So I am very exited about getting this girl. And I know that this girl is the right DMK girl for me:)

    6. Thank you everyone for your wonderful advice. I just purchased my new little girl and now I cant wait!

    7. Here is a pic of my Dollmore Momo twins. I am the second owner of my boy Momo, and I have had him for almost 5 years now. My girl Momo is a hybrid with sanded down cheeks. I am surprised by the resin color difference, as boy Momo has much more of a yellow tint comparing the two. I wonder if the older DM bjds were a yellower based resin. Does anyone know?
No matter, I am pleased with both of them and planned to have them hang around for some time more!

      [IMG][IMG]

    8. they're so cute!! I love the mods, you can't even tell they're the same doll.

I know they've changed their resin at least once. My older Kara Klums are much heavier than my newer one. Newer DMs are a tad pinker, though they all start out pink and cream themselves out eventually. My theory on the lighter resin was because otherwise those Lusion dolls would be impossible to lift XD
      Glamor Models too....
Seriously my Kara Klum weighs as much as an SD13, and he's tiny.

    9. They look so cool:) Could you post a closer picture of your Momo girl`s face? I wanna see her cheeks closer:)

Edit: Oh and I think I need some Torrie spam please:). Boy or girl spam is fine. I have now started looking at the pictures of the Torrie girl on Dollmores site and have started liking her more and more. I have actually put her on my wish list now and looking for clothes and stuff. I just really miss having a snow kitty girl. It was my old Vian who once used to be my cat girl.

    10. Vampire You may be right about the resin. I had one of the DM newer bodies, and the resin did appear lighter, both in weight and color. I let her go because I had trouble getting her to stand, even after re-stringing. Whereas, the older Momo stands like a rock, no problems, but no double jointed arms.

Manabusama One of the previous owners sanded down her cheeks. When I received her, I modded them a little more and to make both sides more symmetrical. I think she looks older and more mature then her brother, but I rather like the effect. BTW, she is on a DZ body and the match is very good.

This is an older pic of my boy MOMO, he now has a much better faceup!

    11. You`re right, she does look older than her brother. If you don`t have dolls that are supposed to be like identical twins I think it is pretty cool as siblings that they have a little bit difference. It makes them even more cooler together^^

    12. She is back on my wish list once again like so many times before. Looks like I am unable to forget about this Ciel girl. I`ve been back and forth with this girl so many times during 2009 or was it 2010 and up to now. There have been times where I have wanted this doll like crazy. And times where I got unsure. And now I am back again to wanting her like madly :sweat Idk, I just get so drawn to her face and way she looks. She is not exactly of the prettiest girls I`ve seen. But she got something that makes me want to own her over and over again..

Maybe that`s a sign that I really should get her:3nodding:. What you guys think?

    13. I'm practically a professional enabler, so I think you should definitely get her!!!

    14. Yeah I think you`re right:) If I can`t forget her then I must be meant to have her. And I was just at the Dollmore site looking for clothes to her. She`ll be my next doll for sure now. She have really stolen my heart:)

    15. Depends on if you pay immediately or do a layaway. Since it's a Dollpire (ie, a LE), you might have to wait only two weeks if you pay in full immediately after placing the order. I think depending on how you do your layaway with DM, if that's your choice, you wait longer and then the doll is shipping out immediately upon the final installment payment on layaway. I got Aria in two weeks after I made my full payment for her. Hope that helps!!

I wondered about the mod. I thought about doing the same for Aria's cheeks but don't know how to mod cheeks. I rather prefer the modded effect too.

    17. Two weeks? That's not bad at all. I made a full payment for her.... my bank account already hates me for it. I'm so excited to get her. She'll be my third doll and my first in almost four years. I've already started planning which are my next few dolls too!

    18. I believe Dollmore were faster with shipping the other dolls I ordered from them earlier. I remember my Rafel boy (have a Renee boy now instead of him) got shipped after a little bit over 1 week only. That`s the fastest one of my dolls have ever shipped.

The order date for my new girl Hana (Aidan) was 2011-06-29. I know they said to wait 2 more weeks last time I asked. But I am just curious if anyone else here have experienced longer waiting time?

Well I did ask for a custom Goth face-up and red nail polish, seam sanding and body blushing. Maybe that is what is taking longer.

    19. hell yes guys, part 3 of the discussion!!!! wiiiiii!!!

Panda: I'm so glad you chose to get your Shiloh!! you won't regreat it! I have the first Shiloh that they sold and I love her so much!! and also, she was my first doll ever!
and also, about the waiting time for them to be shipped, I have two LE Dollmore girls and the waiting time for both of them was 2 weeks and of course they were fullset, but as people have said here, I do think the waiting times are longer now, cause I believe that the demand for Dollmore dolls is bigger now.

    20. I really am excited.... I just want her to come so badly! I havent had a new doll in years and the problem with her taking so long is that it makes me want to buy other dollies too so I can have them.... I have a bit of a problem waiting. Can you guys tell?

    21. Hi, this Enya :)

    22. Enya that`s a beautiful name for her.

    23. manabusama, thanks :)

    24. Awww!! She's beautiful, AmberFool!! Congrats!! What sculpt is she?

    25. Honestly this hobby is so difficult:sweat. Yes I will get my Ciel girl:lol:! No doubt about that anymore but a Delf Soony have become a bit more important to me right now. I`m just dying for a SD girl. And this Soony girl is stealing more and more of my heart second by second. Well of course Ciel do to. But I have no SD girl but my Kaye Wiggs Nelly the faun. So I feel it is about time now.

And I am still waiting for my Aidan girl to be shipped so I guess I don`t quite feel like getting another DMK just now.

    26. I don't have a kid Dollmore yet, but I was wondering what the deal is with the suntan ones? It doesn't look like you can just order one as an option. Are they limited editions, or do they offer them periodically during events, or what? Is second-hand my only hope of getting one?

    27. I think they only offer certain molds in tan, but as far as I know they're available all the time. DM WS is only LE but as long as you want one of the tan ones they have you should be good....

    28. Finally my little Goth Aidan girl have been shipped:whee: Soon Jun will have his best friend:)

    29. Oh, duh. They have their own listings. Sorry, I guess that was reason #152 not to post to forums when you're really tired....

It'll be a while before I can save up for one, but I definitely want a tan Momo someday. And maybe a Manee boy. I wish they had a lighter tan color, like Bobobie; I think Manee would look good with olive skin.

    30. Oh, you're right, a light "sunkissed" tan would be gorgeous! Though I love my tan Momo with the darker skin, it really suits her facial features, imo.

I think Roo and Sona would look awesome in a lighter tan.

    31. [IMG]

Ariadne finally got her new wig and color job!! Took forever, but well worth the wait. She likes her revamped color job and style. Sorry about the quality of the pic-my camera is down and I only had my iPhone camera. -.-

    32. I`m so happy right now:) My Aidan girl Hana have finally reached Norway. Now I just have to wait for the postman to drop her by my door:celebrate And both Jun and Ai is really exited to get a new friend:) How I have missed owning a MSD girl again and now she is finally here:aheartbea

And Gothic-Diurnal-Hime Your girl look amazing^^ Where did you get that cool hair?

    33. manabusama: I got Ariadne's new wig from Leeke and it's in good shape (for once). Couple of flyaways here and there, but that's the joy of a curly wig. She loves it and I love the color. It's Baby Brown and fits her personality and eye color perfectly!! She no longer glares at me. And congrats on Hana finally coming home to Norway!! I wanna see pics!!

    34. Yes I will take pictures of both her and Jun (my Renee boy). And I am thinking about getting her high heels later. She is such a tomboy haha. Sometimes she act like she is the older brother rather than the older sister of Jun. She just loves to tease him and play fight. They are not siblings or anything. But sometimes you could almost believe they were by the way she teases him. So yeah sometimes they are arguing and teasing eachother like siblings often do^^ Some times she calls him her little bro just to make him roll his eyes at her.

    35. @AmberFool

Enya is lovely. Congratulations. I love the wig and outfit on her. I like the pale and striking look it gives her.

      @Gothic-Diurnal-Hime

Aria's new wig is fantastic. I love curls, but taking care of them scares the bejeebers outta me. Can't wait to see more shots of her with it. :D

      @manabusama

Hooray! I'm glad to hear she's finally home. :aheartbea Looking forward to pictures of Hana and Jun together too. Good to hear they're getting along so well already. :chocoheart

    36. My resin kids play fight and tease each other too. It's so adorably pathetic to watch them fight because they are siblings. Ironically, Ariadne is the older sister. Sometimes, I catch her pulling at my boy's hair or play punching him in the arm when I move them around. It's so cute.

    37. @ryoko11: Thank you about the compliment about Aria's wig. She loves being a curly haired girl-just like her resin mom! I figured out a way to care for the curls. I just take those foam bendy hair rollers and recurl the same way it came as and store it away at night. Hope that helps. I never fear curls-since I too have super curly hair and love it dearly!

    38. A quick picture to show my beautiful girl. Funny but on the picture it looks like they painted her tear ducts black. But they are more like the color of her lips really. A bit darker but not black.

      But here is my girl:)

After getting her done with the type of wig I prefer for her I found out that she does not look much like a Hana. And she does not look Japanese at all. So I am most likely going to rename her. But I have no idea what to name her. And with her light eyebrows I would very much like to try her in a curly red or blonde wig. Got a feeling it would suit her face better.

You can come with suggestions if you like:)

    39. I have a Dollmore Narsha and just bought a Miro. Can't wait for Miro go get here.

    40. Congratulations, manabusama! She's beautiful! I love her. You can definitely tell in the other thread that her tear ducts are a just darker version of her lips. She's just amazing. :D

      @Gothic-Diurnal-Hime

Aria's curls are to die for. My favorite wig for Sophie is actually her cute curl, but I usually save it for special occassions because I'm afraid of messing up the curls. I'm totally curl challenged. :doh Can't wait to see more shots of Aria with her new wig and coloring. Meant to tell you before that I really like her top too, btw.

      @Calphedoll

Congratulations on your Miro! Are you getting a girl or a boy?

    41. OMG Thank goodness I found this thread.
      I have a huge Question.
I have a kid girl and I was gonna buy jointed hands but I dont know to to change them out. Does anyone know how to it would help majorly

    42. ryoko11 - Miro is a girl. All my dolls are girls.

    43. ryoko11 Haha for every doll that I get I find out there is another I wanna add to my bjd collection. My Aidan girl is friend of a Gothish vampire family of 4. And once I got her home and dressed I started fantasising about getting her a Youth Dollmore Eve - Claudia Neel to be her older sister. But ah I think I need to stop my self now. I do have like 3 other dolls on my wish list at the moment:sweat

    44. ryoko11: thanks for the compliment. I will be sure to post more Aria pics soon as school gives me the time to give her a photoshoot.

Calphegirl: congrats on your incoming Miro girl!! She's gonna be beautiful!!

SimplySidi: you attach jointed hands the same way you would attach non-jointed hands through a simple minor restring to the hands only. Pull the hand and wrist joint out together far enough to put a pencil or pen to hold the string in place for the new hand without removing the s-hook. It's really easy, but sometimes, depending on the jointed hands you bought, it's tricky. Hope that helps.

    45. Gothic-Diurnal-Hime: It helps, I've been refered to dikadoll for the hands I was worried that I wouldnt be able to put them on her. I'm so new at this... Thanks again.

    46. It's okay, SimplySidi, we are all new to the BJD world at one time in our lives. Dikadoll Pure White matches DM LE White and Normal Yellow or Pink matches DM Normal. Dikadoll is nice, I recommend them but watch out for resin color changes from batch to batch. Dika is notoriously known for their resin not always staying color consistent. I recently had to send back a body for full refund back to a friend (on Resinality) because the body didn't match Aria's head. I prefer her original body so much more now.

    47. Thanks Gothic-Diurnal-Hime, Kylee's skin is a medium light tan. and as far as I've seen Dikadoll is the one that makes MSD jointed hands. Do you know of any other companies that may make jointed hands?

    48. Dollzone, Soom (SD only), Spiritdoll (SD only), and Illusion Spirit. Keep in mind that Dollzone discontinues their tan this month though.

    49. O_o I didnt know that DZ made MSD hands. I just checked on denverdoll and its about the same I'd pay on Alicecollections cool thanks alot

    50. Anytime!! I plan on getting my little one some Dika pure white short nail jointed hands soon, so I'm happy researching paid off by helping someone else in the process. Sorry about the delayed response-college >.>

    51. I know what you mean. College is an ebil place ^^ but I do the best and gooodluck to ya

    52. Thanks. Maybe we should continue the convo over PM! it's going OT. >.>

    53. Anyone know if DM is going to release manicured hands similar to the ones they made for their larger dolls? I'm not as quick to blush my doll's hands, and have their nails look neatly manicured, so I hope they release them in DM Kid size.

    54. I know this is an odd question but I've been wondering. Does anyone know how to Change or remove a dollmore kid head?

    55. Here is a picture of my Miro, she's wearing an Alice outfit I'm making for a customer.

    56. You open the headcap (yay for magnetic headcaps!), lift the S hook up off the groove and turn it whichever way it will fit through the hole at the bottom of her head. You might want to gently lift her head out while still strung to see if the S hook won't slip into the neck. (which us a pain) if your afraid of this happening just pass a pen or choostick or crochet hook between the elastic underneath her head and then do the above. (lifting turning the s hook) if the knot is in the head you might have to tug gently to get it to pass through the hole as well. and now you should have a doll body in one hand and a head in the other.

Once you do this a couple of times it will become second nature. Something else I like to do is pass a string through the elastic, so if the tension in the elastic is a little difficult for me to handle with just my hands; I have something I can a better grip on to pull.

      Hope this helps. :)

    57. It does help thanks. I think that while I was changing her eyes the S hook slipped and I freaked. Thank you Kittywolf13. Another thought popped into my head. I will get my girl some Jointed hands later, will I have to buy a hook for the hands, Cuz Her hands are connected oddly to her...

    58. I would wait to see the jointed hands in comparison before buying a hook for the hands IMO. I say that because it's very possible you might not have to buy a hook if the one in the jointed hands matches the one currently in your doll's wrist. Can you take a pic of the hooks in her hands?
