Dollmore Alex and Alexia Doll from Gu Mi-Jeong

@El BJD hahaha! Love her teen angst! Annabeth's personality is coming out... she's pre-teen and a little bratty - but with that face, she can get away with anything

 

When ordering from Dollmore, particularly an Alexia, would you all recommend that I get the sanding option? I am pretty new to the hobby and have not a clue of how to sand a doll myself without damaging it.

 

I didn't bother with the sanding when I bought my Alexia, seams are not something that I really notice so I think it all depends on whether they bother you, my dolls are always fully clothed so I can't see them anyway.

 

I am so glad, valee.anne, that you are enjoying your girl. I have two of them who have so much clothing that I had to get them a 32 inch tall suitcase Talk about teen angst. How about mine, in assuming the national debt to pay for them!

 

Lexie is quite tall enough to put the star on the tree herself, but she helped her brother Martyn to put his very first star on the Christmas tree.

Thank you sooo much @jenthered , I really am nervous about the clothes. I know shes going to be a difficult fit. For now she will have her full set dress, but I know I am going to want to find her more outfits. Please tell me where to shop for her. And thank you for your well wishes. I will more than happy share her with all of you upon her arrival.

 

My two have TONS of custom stuff, tons, and Dollmore will make clothes for Alexia upon request. She will fit some MSD stuff, including some Dollheart, so tell her to suck it in! Mine even have bikinis, with pareos and sunhats too...not that they ever go outside...but when I took them to a convention on San Antonio, they did sit at the pool and were much admired. You will love her!

 

Dollmore makes clothes on request for her? Do you just send photos of what you were looking for?

 

Clothes made for the original Kaye Wiggs MSD body usually work. The shoulders are about the same but Alexia is a bit bigger in the waist and bigger in the hips. Here's a picture of Alexia in a dress made for a Kaye Wiggs doll. Oh. she's with Elysia,

Beautiful. Love both of them! I tell Dollmore which models I want and then they either do or they don't. Alexia and Kaye Wiggs Layla, for example can fit tops easily enough but stockings for Alexia swim on KW's dolls.

I ordered Pink Sucre I loved her light, fair features. Was tempted by the Real Skin girl as well, but I'd really prefer to have an outfit to put on my doll when I get her, even if it's more expensive that way.

I think, as soon as I get Marketplace access, I'm going to be hunting for the Mint Sucre outfit though. I just love it

If I like my Alexia, I may just get her in Real Skin as well and just order a special faceup to make them look a little different I am super excited though. Made a huge order at Dollmore Also getting a Ballerina Kid

 

Oh boy, are you in trouble! Not even home yet and she's getting a sister and a friend and and and. You go, girl! But honestly, they are gorgeous dolls and even antique doll people gravitate towards them...

 

I am in trouble New collector here, and I went a little nuts, because for a while, I didn't have a doll to play with. I'm slowing down now that I have one here at home though

 

It happens to all of us...and then we get too many and then we start to sell.. but the beginnings are so much fun, so enjoy it!

People who sew, LOL. Seriously, I have a Yahoo group with several talented seamstresses and they all bought Alexia, so they have helped a lot. One is Vicki Jones and one is Gale Torres, Wee Wardrobe.

 

Thanks! I have 2 patterns in my Etsy cart that I need to buy soon! I'm still sorting through my SD13 patterns plus some for my smaller bjds and hope to get sewing soon. Looks like the SD leggings will fit Alexia, with just minor adjustments.

 

Too big. her legs are heavy but even so, not nearly as long as those of SDs

hello, I want an alexia. can someone tell or show me the difference between the normal skin and real skin?

 

Real skin is a translucent resin like the old French resin. I have two of Dollmore's real skin dolls: a Narsha that I love and a Zaoll. I am not as happy with the Zaoll. Unless you are a real fan of translucent resin, I think you might be happier with the normal resin..

 

Just finished making my girl some leggings from a tattoo sleeve from the Dollar store. They fit her more like a bodysuit as they also fit my SD13. Saw the tip here on DOA, in a sewing thread.

 

My Alexia finally made it home Her new name is Emily.

 

Oh my God i love her outfit!,,, DOnt those chubby legs drive you crazy?! I adore her chubby body!

 

I made my Lexie a tank top to go with her tattoo sleeve leggings. That hair is holding it closed til I find some matching buttons.

I have Alexia on the way. Can anyone tell me where to find shoes for her? I can't wait to see her. I understand she is difficult to find clothes for.

 

Dollmore has shoes for her and so does Monique. She's not an easy fit but between those two, my two have managed very well.

 

Anyone have comparison of Alex with MSD and SD? I have been interested in an Alex doll since I knew they existed some years ago but have not had the chance to get one yet. I am wondering what would be her proportions compared to other dolls since she seems to be a weird size

They look so fabulous together. I have two Alexias and I just love them. One I got when they came out and one later on from DoA. It's nice to see other's dolls too.

 

I just unboxed my Alexia! She looks even better in person than in the pictures. I also think that she is a very good size for sewing and knitting when I have time to do that. I got mine second hand and will be doing some detective work to figure out when she was made as the seller was not sure on the exact year.
