Doll Legend 1/4 mini Discussion

I second this request, only for the boys. Extra points for comparisons next to other company's MSDs!

 

I'm looking at the girls as well so I'd appreciate owner input. I just got a YOSD from them and love the jointing and quality.

 

They have excellent mature bodies, but on the other hand, the head sculpts are too much "kawaii" anime style and not fitting the bodies. It's such a shame:/.

I have a FL-minifee head hybrid Doll Legend body and comparison to Withdoll.
but my Doll Legend body was order color max and yellowed now.

 

Does anyone happen to have access to a Doll Legend boy body and a 1/4 Doll Chateau? I'm considering buying a body for my Doll Chateau head and am assuming I'll have to mod the neck hole to fit on a DL body.

Any and all help (especially a photo) would be appreciated.

 

I'd really like to see some reviews of this body and it's poseability if anyone can help with that. The name makes it really hard to search for.

 

I never even knew this thread was here... my boy's a hybrid with a FL event head, but that just makes him on topic for both threads.

@Torino, here's some standing poses from when my body arrived:

I also have some various seated/floor poses here, and of course plenty of photos of him both headless and since he's gotten his head attached in his Flickr album. I've found it to be a decent poser, around the "average" for my collection. He stands very well (I've gotten him balancing foot-and-toe, and will probably shoot for some one-leg posing in the future, just to see if he can do it), leans reasonably well, and manages some good natural seated poses as well. He's solid enough to pose with other dolls, as well, and has been a good color match for my NS FairyLand head. Now that both are blushed, there's no apparent difference between either, and I've noticed no unusual yellowing from him. I'm still pleased with the choice of body for his head.

I kind of wish they had fist-hands among the option hands, though...I guess I'll live. The jointed hands are tempting.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what kind of clothes will fit this body? Any MSD-size clothes, or something more specific?
EDIT- Another question, I'm personally not fond of the translucent resin. Is that what the ímported resin is? I want to make sure I dont accidentally buy the translucent one by mistake.

Lastly I may be pushing my luck here a bit, but is anyone willing to do a video review of this body? I'd really like to see the body in motion.

 

@Torino, you're welcome! For a couple more of your questions, Al does share clothes with the rest of my dolls, though they aren't strictly speaking "bjd" clothes (they just happen to fit). He's very similar in size to the other boys in that set, a bit more broad across the shoulders and stomach:

Far left is WithDoll, center is MiniFee, and right is the Doll Legend body.

As for the imported resin, yes, that's the translucent style; Al is the regular resin, which is a good match for other urethane resin recipes. (The WithDoll body above is in a translucent resin, but because of his darker resin color and blushing, it's not quite as apparent.)

You'll have to hope for someone else on the video review, though, sadly; I don't really do videos.

@Fairy_Dust, I think the "neck piece" you're looking at is just the resin donut they provide to make it easier to hybrid the body with other heads. Since you're thinking of doing a FL/DL hybrid, though, which is what I have, I'll warn you that the donut won't actually work with MNF heads. The way it sits in the head makes it difficult to impossible to seat the headcap, it lets the neck slide too far into the head, and it snaps loose if you try to move the head.

Hello~

I own a Doll Legend Zhaoxuan - I named her Ambrosia. I'm very fond of the head sculpt, and the body is also very pretty, but the arms bother me a lot. Especially the hands - they seem like ham hands to me, haha.
Anyway, when it comes to posing and such, it's actually pretty nice. However, she tends to flop around if the string isn't tightened properly, so make sure to take care of that.
My favorite part about the body are the feet - they are incredibly pretty.

I'm planning to hybrid Ambrosia with a Doll Zone body, and mod her ears to normal ears...

 

I've been eyeballing the boy bodies for hybrids since I minifee boys to be bigger. I'm guessing the pink rain matches FL normal skin?

 

@PChu, yes, my hybrid boy Al (shown above shirtless to show the match post-blushing) is a FL NS event head on a DL "Normal Pink" boy body. The match and the posing are both great, and he's taller than my MNF A-Line boy (which is exactly what I was aiming for)!

My body arrived! I'm really happy about it. I just wanted to ask though...I didn't receive a COA. Is this normal for bodies?
I ordered it from Alice's Collections and it came in the spiffy Doll Legend box and all. Did they forget it or do the COAs only come with the actual dolls, not the bodies on their own?
EDIT- If it helps anyone, Doll Legend yellow is a perfect match for Doll Family A yellow.

 

I didn't get a CoA with my body, either; I'm not even sure if they have one for the full dolls, as not all companies offer CoAs. I hope you'll share your new hybrid here, congrats on your arrival!

I ordered a JID head in NS from Iplehouse and needed to find a body with matching skin.

 

Doll Legend seem a bit neglected here - I only noticed them because Alices has a discount at the moment, and I think for the money they look really good, as do their bodies! Also seen on Alices they have a nice 'practice head' now too (Special Offer) 1/4 Practice head - Nuoyi - Doll Legend - BJD Dolls, Accessories - Alice's Collections

AND.... *drum roll* they've jumped on the 'big baby bandwagon' with these 2 cuties - which will probably need their own thread? Anyway they are 41cm and I love them, especially Huben Chubby BB 41cm : Alice's Collections

 

I had honestly never heard of this company but I just saw their new releases on the front page of Alice's. I love Huo He! Also, a full doll + jointed hands for under $200? Sign me up.

 

Huo He arrived! She's very cute and I like the body sculpt. She's a solid poser now that shes been sueded. My biggest gripe is that the jointed hands are a drastically different shade of white to the doll. I guess its not hard to blush/edit out though

There seems to be so few Doll Legend dolls around. I think they have really nice bodies, I'm liking the boy ones. Can't wait to get mine! Hope to see more photos of Doll Legend dolls around!

 

It is a bit of a shame. I don't have a 1/4th Doll Legend Doll but I do have a 1/6th doll. My Wei Xue (Dollie). I messed up her make up so I have to get someone to give her a completely different face up but she is just the sweetest little doll. I love the sculpt on the face.

 

I have Weixue on my wishlist too! She has such a cute smile! I'm really looking forward to see more of Doll Legend dolls especially in the 1/4 and 1/6 sizes!!

I just ordered a strong body in normal pink with two pairs of jointed hands (hope the hands will fit model delf girl body...). I'm very curious to his posing ability in person. I wanted a better poser than my Souldoll NL, but with "pretty" joints (I don't like DZ / DL / LS joints) who would not be dwarved by 45 cm girl (Fairyland...why your boys so short!). Now for the long wait.

 

Here's a peekture of my Mu Jin! I requested for a change of girl body to boy body! I really like their boy bodies! He still needs a change of outfit but his mistress is too lazy to get started on making one... oops.

 

@Cydril oh my you have a Huo He T.T I think she is adorable! I am thinking about buying her next year! I have a yokai in mind for her :3 Her eyes look so big, what eye size did you use for her?

 

I got the strong body for a Migidoll hybrid. It's not perfect but a pretty nice body! Here's a comparison pic:


I found some fitting pants (from PromiseOfTheWorld, others were all to tight) but no clue about tops. Anyone got an idea what might fit? Luts Model Delf stuff maybe?

 

Hi, this is my first 1/4 Doll Legend. I got Nuoyi practice head because he looks so much like their SD Weixi, which I have yet to see owner photos of. He just came in the mail so I'm not sure which body he will be using. I plan on him having the same coloring as Rog (Weixi), storyline plans are ongoing so I'm not sure if he will be Rog's little brother or his son.

Hi! Long ago and encouraged by your opinions here about the girl body, I purchased it to hybrid my Narae head.
The body is beautiful but I'm having lots of trouble getting her to stand right.
Her legs are a bit kicky but I know that could be fixed by hot glueing or restringing. But her torso part is like she is always bending forward a little bit, like the part where the legs meet the button isn't properly sanded or whatever.
I'm not really sure what to do as this is the third body I buy for this doll and I really thought this was going to be the one. I hope you can give me a hand on this matter.

 

Anyone have any experience with You Shang? I've been trying to find any reviews or anything about her but so far nada. She's really tempting me hahaha

Also, any chance anyone's got a resin match picture or something for Doll Legend and Resinsoul? With what little there is on Doll Legend, I feel like it's a long shot but I figure it's not a bad idea to ask.

What female bodies would fit the nuoyi practice heads? I'm not a huge fan of the doll legend bodies.

 

Nuoyi is a very small head. I found that it actually fits on and looks good Doll Legend 30cm. bodies. Other MSD bodies Doll Chateau, Minifee and Soulkids. Doesn't fit on Mystic Kids bodies the neck is too big.

Nuoyi doesn't have the 'big' head look of the 30cm, funny enough. I have Parado and Nuoyi's head is actually smaller than Parado's.

I just got the 44cm strong boy body... does anyone know if clothes advertised “minifee” will fit him? I’m planning to sculpt a head myself.

 

Nope, sadly they won't fit. Minifees are much slimmer. You're better off with clothes for Souldoll or Withdoll MSD boys (they have similar measurements). Or even normal MSD clothes though I suspect those will be too short.

After months of contemplation and several weeks of pandemic-induced reluctance, I finally placed my order for a Doll Legend Lu Ling. She should be home sometime in September if all goes well.

 

She made it!



First time doll owner though I am, I can't believe these dolls aren't more popular. Chaeri is lovely, she poses Iike a dream, and they're not helplessly expensive. I lucked out big time.

 

Hello! I was wondering if anyone had any experience making a hybrid with a Luts KDF head and the strong body?

 

I've recently ended up with an old Nuoyi practice head; I gave her a faceup and put her on a soulkid body. aside from the very off resin match it's a really nice fit proportionally and I love the pouty expression.
