Shashy and Tati- thank you, yes i did make the outfit. Her face up was done by my sister, and I love it. Yes her legs are definately loose and twist easily. I tried tightening her up, but it did not help. I may have to get the courage someday to restring her...

 

just ordered my DIM Elif super excited!!

 

I got a Leonora and did a quick body blush and face up. I do want to fix her a bit more and give her a vintage looking outfit too.

I ordered a Bellosse with Love Girl Body during the Event. The head I got was the Bellosse with Half-closed Eyes.

And, wow--the feet on these girls ARE big, aren't they? With stockings on, I managed to squeeze them into SD16 DollHeart shoes--but the backs were open on this style, so that helped. I also managed to squeeze them into a super-large sized pair of shoes I got off ebay, but it was a super-tight fit and I needed about 5 or 10 minutes of working the one shoe on! 'Haven't tried BOTH yet!

 

EXTREMELY irritated with DIM right now. Ive always held them in high regards because denny is probably one of the NICEST guys out there, and really does go above and beyond for his customers... but this.. is just.. not ok..

so on feb 27th we ordered DIM Elif (with face up) in order to get the free event head! yey!! id get my dream dim boy.. and i could possibly start working on another sd character to go with him! awesome! order was confirmed with Elif+body 2+faceup+event. great stuff! super excited.

well ive just been notified that the body 2 is no longer avialable.. shouldnt effect me right? since I've already ordered him a few weeks ago when the body was still around..

wrong. my now sold out elif, with a sold out body.. will not be coming even though weve partially paid for him, and the order was confirmed on teh 28th. confirmed. as in dde paid for the doll completely and now i just owe dde the remainder.

i was told to just "re-order" when the body 2 is available again. OK sure. but elif is now sold out so how would that work.. i feel like that wouldnt go though/fall apart just as quickly as this appears to be. secondly we ordered him so when im away in japan and korea this summer away from my boyfriend (whose paying for the doll for me) we can still be apart but have this doll to stay connected. (lame i know but well.. his idea.. so its brilliant to me)

i just.. am at a loss.. cried at school about this.. its.. not fair.. firs world problems i know.. but it really broke my heart to have this happen. hell im crying now about it. its just a doll, i know... but.. we had this whole plan and it was going to be great. i hope to god or whatever higher being there might be that this can somehow work out.. in some way.. i hope.

please work. please. please work.

he said we can continue my order, and ill just wait until the new body type 2 is completed. then he'll ship my elif, and event head out to me with the NEW type 2..

dim again, never fails to surprise me with their kindness.

DIM Bellosse was my first ever BJD. Here is a photo. Not a very good one as I'm no photographer. This is a company default faceup which I was very happy with, but am thinking of having it redone

Nat17, love your Bellosse. That is one doll I was thinking of getting but got 3 heads and one body of the bigger size instead. What is the body like on this size. The bigger one is vey chunky with large hands and feet.

 

Thanks shashy 😊 this is the love body, I didn't think they made them any bigger. They don't have this body anymore and in the process of creating a new body for the bigger girls which I'm looking forward to because I have a marcellina head waiting for a body. I don't find it overly chunky. I like the size. She's not the best poser I have, but I also have never attempted to restring or anything like that to see if posing will improve 😀

 

OK Nat17. My mind must be going. I was thinking this was Benetia on the Happy body. I really like her. I have Bellosse like your size with that body so I know what your body is like. I really am not crazy about the body but it matches the colour of the heads. I will not get another even though I have three heads. One head is on the DIM body, another on a Dollzone body and the third needs to be painted. I love the DIM faces but not crazy about how the head cap is at the back. It falls off easily but their nice sculpts make me want more. Heads that is. My body is very loosely strung but I won't change it. I am not comfortable restringng. She just sits. I hear Dollstown Oriental skin matches the DIM colour, but those bodies don't stand easily either, but I like the look better. I wonder what the new DIM body will be like.

 

I'm the same with restringing. Should give it a go maybe but don't want to pull a doll apart and be left with her in pieces because I have no idea what I'm doing. Hopefully the new body will be a bit better, not sure when that will be released though. What is the dollzone body like? Does it match DIM head? I have always kept heads on the same bodies so far, only because I find it easier though and don't know what matches with what. I actually have the same problem with her head cap at the back. I thought it was just me. I don't have a happy sized DIM yet but have Larina on layaway so will be able to compare the bodies a bit better when I have her. I told myself I was going to stay away from the DIM girls but just today bought a Lalia head off someone from fb. The first second hand I've bought but couldn't resist the faceup on her, so hopefully these love bodies hurry up or I'll have to look into other bodies that will match.

 

I've got a DiM Love 2.0 body and I like its aesthetic a lot, but she is very kicky and the range of motion in the arms appears to be a bit limited (I'm still debating whether or not to enlarge the elastic channels a bit). On the other hand, she's the only one among my crew who looks comfortable sitting, so I'm not complaining.

 

Nat17, the Dollzone body in SD and MSD size is amazing but THEY DO NOT MATCH IN COLOUR TO DIM. I already had the body and took the head that was on it off so I could display my Kassia head. Marcellina is on DIM body. I don't suggest you order DZ body for DIM. DZ do awful faceups but other people make their heads look amazing with their faceups. I usually like my dolls to have a body and head by the same maker. I do have to say that I may buy another DIM head but will never buy another body. I will find one that matches in colour from another's company.


Jany my DIM girl sits well so there she stays. Safer anyways. Just frustrating for pictures. Also her big hands and feet are frustrating for some clothes I have.

 

Actually the colour match between normal pink skin Dollzone and DIM is not so bad. They changed their normal skin to a lighter slightly more pink colour last year - this body even yellows slower than my older Dollzone body. The older one had lost all pink within a year, this one is still pink after a year.
If the head will look good on the body I do not know. And Dollzone will still yellow faster than DIM. So you would have to spray the entire body a UV protection-spray and clean and redo it once a year or something.

 

Chador, I wasn't even thinking of the normal DZ colour. I always order the white. I have my DIM head on the white body so of course it doesn't match. If the normal matches then that is the way I would go because I love the DZ body and I think it looks good. I find the DIM head not that big so they really don't need the chunky DIM body. I do have a little DZ free doll put away because it needs to be painted so I will check that colour. Thanks for mentioning the normal colour. I haven't noticed DZ yellowing but then I order the white and my white seems OK. I do keep my BJD in my office with the blinds closed most of the time. I do have to say my first DZ white doll was more of an ivory colour but my newer DZ dolls are whiter. In fact when my first DZ doll arrived I thought they sent the wrong colour. I had expected whiter. They are not consistent with their colours so if you were trying to match heads with bodies it might be difficult. I have only one order of the 3 DIM heads and 1 body.

 

Has anyone had problems with their doll standing up? My doll, Rayen, is a DIM Love vrs. 1 and I'm having such a hard time getting him to stand. When I try to sit him down his hip-joints jut out and the curve of his back makes it near impossible for him to sit. I know I'm going to have to mod him but any suggestions on where to start

 

I have a DIM Benetia (1/4-right place for this?) and she was a horrible floppy mess.

My friend & I pulled her apart, cleaned her and put in brand new string. Then applied hot glue suede and she stood like a rock!

We also added some wiring at the elbow & knee joints, but she really don't need them.

She's lovely to deal with now!

where can you get hot glue suede?

 

It's just hot glue, applied to the joints. It's called "sueding" as it's an alternative to traditional sueding which is done with moleskin (you can find sticky-back moleskin fabric in pharmacies with shoe insoles and such.)

 

I have my Benetia on the old DIM body and after hot gluing she poses so much better, but I still need to fix her arms that can't hold a pose.

I have a Love Lloyd (and many Happy kids) and have no problems with any of them standing but I don't have a Love girl. The only issue I have with my boy on the old Love body is that he's got such a sway back it puts him off balance but I can't be bothered spending the money to upgrade his body though I like the look of the newer body better.

 

Wow, such beautiful pictures! I'm going to be trawling through these pages hoping to find some more of sleepy-eyed Kassia and Marcellina. I'm really conflicted between the two. I have been wanting sleepy-eyed Bellosse and Kassia to be my twin boys for aaaaages, but now that I've discovered Marcellina I'm just so smitten with her! I still intend to get a regular eyed Kassia to be my first and only girl so it feels silly that I wouldn't just choose an entirely new sculpt over a sleepy version of another doll I already intend on getting anyway, but I don't know! All I know is sleepy Bellosse is staying since I already have the open eye version and I just LOVE my boy XD Definitely need a second one!

Perhaps any of you lovely collectors would like to share your opinion? Sleepy Kassia or Marcellina, how would you decide?

It is very easy to do! You only need a mini hot glue gun of low temp, and the sticks. You apply to the joints (knees, elbows, waist) and smear it around the joint area with your finger, being careful not to burn yourself. It helps a lot, Good Luck!

I believe mine is on the "new" body and was still a troublemaker.

InkyBear , I really liked and Kassia , and Marcellina, but I chose Marcellina Not so long ago, he came to me, and now looks like this.

 

I say get more than one head but just one body and change it up every so often. I have 3 heads, Marcellina, half closed Bellosse and open eye Kassia. I have painted Marcelina and open eye Kassia but need to paint the other. Soon that will happen as the weather is getting colder. I did steal one of my Dollzone bodies for Kassia so she can be a whole person. I have a few heads in the closet and change heads like we do clothes. Heads are cheap. Especially if you paint Them yourselves. As for DIM bodies, I don't like them. Too bulky and floppy. I will keep the one I have but never again. I love the Dollzone body the best of all my bodies. I couldn't be bothered to hot suede glue, etc. I make her sit there instead. She sits good. Her feet are huge so I had to order special boots for her from Val Zeitler. Her hands are huge too so not easy to dress some of my outfits that were made for the tiny handed Peakswoods dolls.

 

Marcellinaaaaa! I don't much like "vampire" dolls, but one day a Marcellina will join the ranks of resin folk living at my place

And I have considered just getting both versions of Kassia and deciding if I should keep both or whatever it is what I want to do with them once they get here. I almost considered only getting sleepy Kassia and then having someone open her eyes so she's somewhere between sleepy and open eyes, that way I can sort of have a bit of both seeing as the rest of her face is exactly the same XD

I have two of the male Minimee bodies. Well, I have one and I'm getting another one shortly. I like them a lot except for the huge knee ball. That throws me off a little, though the butt on those is so cute it kind of makes up for the lame knees. Q? What are you guys putting on their huge feet? None of my SD sized shoes will fit these guys and I could use some inexpensive shoe suggestions. I can make clothes but the feet are so big that it's a problem. Will take pics of my Kelly on the Minimee body soon. I have to get some pants on him...

 

Any information why the doll love body is sold out ?

So many beautiful dolls! I'm so in love with the DiM aesthetic. And I finally have one to share. Somewhat. I got a gorgeous (gorgeous, gorgeous) lightly modded Edmon head off the Marketplace a couple months ago, but since he was my first SD, I didn't have any body to put him on for pictures. But that has finally changed so I have to spam a quick shot of him! (Though his wig still doesn't arrive until tomorrow.)



I'm still getting used to this size range, and he's currently dressed entirely in old American Girl doll clothes and a hat my sister made, but I'm loving him so much.

Oh, I just saw someone asking about the Love bodies. I wrote to them and they said more Love dolls after the first of the year. Must be in production.

She is on the Love V1 body and honestly her posing is quite good. I haven't really had any problems and she is not hot glue sueded.
BUT her neck was way too wide and her head wouldn't stay on Some sanding took care of that.

Hi all! I just recently adopted a lovely DIM boy from my friend. He's a YS Love body and his head is the 2012 event head. By the way, would anyone happen to know the name of the head sculpt for the DIM 2012 event? I'd like to find out and my searches have proved fruitless thus far.
