A bunch of Iplehouse heads were discontinued so those had to take priority over the DiM kids.

 

i've bought a minimee faun head but can't find anything about the necksize... so i have no idea which body's fit does anyone know this?

 

Because I haven't been here in a while or possibly ever? I don't know, but now that he has his SafrinDoll eyes, I'm learning to style his wig, I'm slowly (I think) getting better at photography and I have once again rediscovered my love for my boy, here's my DIM Lyell boy, Katana aka Blade. Good goddess I love him so much!

@Shinjumoon This is super late but hmmm... That would depend to be honest. The minimee heads are all different sizes, some are made for a certain neck size etc. It might help if we knew exactly what the sculpt is based on, it may be possible to look it up and find out what the original plan for that head was and who ordered it. That way we might be able to find the information for it. Sorry, not much help I know, but it's kinda difficult without that info. I hope you've either figured it out by now or that we can help you figure it out. Good luck!

 

Can anyone tell me if the angel studio solid pink body would be a good match for the dim pink normal skin? Im trying to find a match for my flora head.. Thanks in advance

 

Since DIM is having their crazy sale going on, can we bump this up? Anyone got pictures of the lovely Anneliese? I'm stuck between her and Azelia. ^_^

 

I want to hybrids Leonard (d.i.m memory), but still have no idea which body will match him well. I'm considering between Crobi body and April story body. Anyone got pics of Leonard hybrids?

Anneliese makes SUCH a perfect boy! Honestly I've been leaning towards Azelia though...it's so tempting! not enough people have these girls (or boys)!

 

Hello everyone! Could anyone let me know how long their wait from DIM was? There doesn't appear to be a waiting room for them. I've just ordered four heads (one with faceup) because of the sale and I'm so excited for them to come home, these dolls have been on my wishlist for years!

 

@CrayolaTicTac Every time I've ordered from DiM (just a head mind you, it's been years since I've ordered a full doll), it's always been shipped to be very quickly, usually about a month. My most recent head which is currently on it's way to me only took 3 weeks! At the moment the website states 2 weeks, which may also be accurate since it seems like DiM has been answering their Q&A board like crazy so they might really be buckling down and getting our orders asap until they sell out. Congrats on your new dolls! Who did you order?

 

@CrayolaTicTac @InkyBear I asked in their QA thread before I ordered and they said 4 weeks, because of the sale. I'm hoping they match or beat that. I ordered my doll unassembled too, to save $30, so I'm hoping it'll be nice and quick!

 

Thanks so much for the information, it's good to know that they ship so quickly! I ordered Bellosse (with faceup), HCE Bellosse, Leonora, and Marcellina - just the heads. Bellosse is one of my favorite sculpts and I was planning on ordering her yesterday anyway so I feel really lucky that the sale started and I was able to get the other girls as well.

@InkyBear Congratulations on your incoming head! Who did you get?

That's FANTASTIC timing @CrayolaTicTac congratulations! I love Bellosse, I wish I could have gotten more but one is PLENTY for me. I'm secretly hoping they beat their 4-week estimate, especially as my girl is coming unstrung. We'll see!

I wound up getting Azelia *updates signature* I loved Anneliese but the S.O. agreed Azelia looked more feminine and I figured, if I'm gonna get a D.I.M. doll, DEM LIPS. Why would I not get one that highlights their most prominent features?

 

Hello hello! I was expecting this place to be abuzz, what with DIM discontinuing all their dolls. I'm hoping to pick up an Anneliese full doll, but there are so many heads I'm going to miss too! Hamish! Marcellina! Kassia!

@CrayolaTicTac The head I'm waiting on is actually one of their mini heads, Laia. For this event I only ordered minis I kind of really wish I had been able to order Lalia too though, I'm sad she sold out so quickly

And congrats on your order! I LOVE Bellose, I already have her at home as well as Marcellina (who I think is a vastly ignored sculpt but sooooo lovely!), and they're both just gorgeous!

 

Hi MissEmily! It's confusing with several different Love size threads taking turns on being active. Most recently people have been posting in this thread: Doll in Mind - Love - Discussion. Would be great if these threads could get combined!

And yes, I've - finally - ordered a Kassia head that kept bouncing in and out of my cart for years!

 

I have a question: I would like a smaller SD girl (between 56 and 60 cm) body, a thin one, to match my Kassia head with. And not expensive one (lets say 250 or less?) at that. Does anyone have an idea? I am not looking for a good resinmatch. Pink skin will do.I can make the head match it.

 

I've got it on good authority that Resinsoul matches. ^_^

 

Hmmm - posing is important. Does anyone know how their new 60cm body poses? That one at least has real double joints. And I would love to see a(ny) DIM head on that body?

 

Yes, one of my favorite dolls that flew the coup was a DiM head on a BBB body.

I'm angling to get an Anneliese in the discontinuation. I think I'm going for the full doll as the kit price is exactly the same price an an RS body, but I may be looking over at Resinsoul Xue body for a slimmer aesthetic.

So many heads I wish I could snatch up! Ugh!

Thanks! I was especially happy that this face suits much smaller bodies too. Here, he's on a larger MSD body (the DiM ver1 body, 47.5cm), which works o.k., though better with clothes on.
I've got a 51.5cm IOS body, which I guess would be perfect. But it's already confiscated by my DiM Marcellina - whose character also uses an Odile faceplate, for more range of expressions etc.

Apart from the amazing sculpts themselves, one of the things I love about many of the DiM heads, is that they have faceplates. And some headbacks and faceplates from different sculpts are able to be used together.Doesn't give a perfect fit, but secure enough with the help of a balloon (with end part cut off) to keep them on fine.

Isn't it amazing how we all perceive things differently? To me, it's Azelia whose the least femine of the 2! Which is one of the reasons I chose the Anneliese head over it, as I liked the idea of being able to switch genders (incl. bodies) now and again with this head, without changing the face up.
Can't wait to see what you do with your Azelia! Will be great to see more of these latest 3 sculpts especially in the future, as there seem to be so few around.

I keep hearing positive things about AOD bodies. Maybe that's an option for you?

@RaineFournier Yes! I love Azelia's unique lip shape, don't think I've seen another doll quite like her. It would be really exciting if they shipped your girl before the ETA, I hope they do!

@InkyBear Oh, I really like their minis as well. Honestly I love so many of their dolls, very sad to see them all go, but also excited for what they release next! Sorry that you missed Lalia, I hope you can find her secondhand someday. I agree that Marcellina is underrated, wish there were more of her around!

 

Speaking of Marcellina, I have one sitting in my cart, waiting for me to push the button. She's been on the "nice to have" / "possibly maybe" list for ages, with not one, but two concepts waiting for her ... so I'm getting her now while I still can. Just need to make up my mind about the Happies first, because some of those would like to come along too

I'm guessing they got slammed with orders and are cutting it short to fulfill them? Hopefully this means people who needed to save up now have a chance to do so!

 

well I now have four heads coming my way. Hopefully I will find good bodies to hybrid with. That makes 8 floating heads in total I am working on. Only 3 of my , now 11 dolls, are complete-well 11 when I get these 4. I have to hunker down and start completing them. It's just head sales seem to keep coming along and then you get event heads too..it all adds up

 

Hello everybody! It's very nice to see more active Doll in Mind discussion again. Thank you @Wolfboy for mentioning duplicate threads. I've merged two and I hope that everybody is finding their way around better now!

In light of another mass discontinuing of heads event I wanted to share a picture of my very old Doll in Mind Lloyd. He is on a Lumedoll body of unknown age and pink color.

Now I have to go stare at the D.I.M. website again and figure out who I'm bringing home. I love virtually every sculpt, so I think I should probably treat myself to at least one more.

 

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but I can't find anything - does Doll in Mind offer layaway? If so, how does it work / where can I find more info? I can't swing everything I want from them in one go

I just placed my order for a full Anneliese (with the unassembled body) and one of the Sweet heads. But I may pick up a couple more Love heads if they are true to their word and do a second round for people who needed to save up. Now. To find the waiting room....

 

I was very happy when I found Lloyd second hand a few years ago. He has a powerful frown!
Congratulations on Anneliese @MissEmily -- I just placed my order too. I also got the unassembled body, Anneliese and Azelia heads. I'll let them fight for my love and the body when they arrive. If they both earn it then they can be sisters. I thought the faces would make great sisters.
@Jany You may need to ask DIM about layaway on their message board. I don't find any statement on their site that they offer layaway.

 

I put Marcellina in my basket checked out, pressed pay now and then opened up another tab while I was waiting for it to go through. I have no idea if it went through as the screen thanking me for my order also gave details on how to pay! I've had no email yet to confirm but I went back into the site and there is no head in my basket (I am not a registered user but it normally saves it for a few minutes even so. Does anyone know if I have bought it or not?!

 

You have to follow the instructions on that second page.

 

I went through the whole thing, put in all my details and then hit pay. It was verifiying it when I opened another tab. I knew I should have been more patient. I have the attention span of a gnat

same thing happened to me, i know i ordered because its under my orders on my account, I just don't know if cc payment went through. I emailed them to see.

 

@Fachtna I was directed to the same page after I placed my order. If you're paying via paypal then you'll need to send them the payment on your own, you won't receive an invoice. I received an order confirmation email immediately and then a payment confirmation email several hours later (when it would have been morning for them). Sorry I can't help you if you paid with cc or bankwire. I hope you'll hear from them soon!

@Jany Someone in the news thread asked them about layaway and reported back that they offer a 50/50 payment plan. I'm not sure about the process but I wish you luck!

Yes - that fits well. I would recommend normal pink skin though. And please be aware: DZ now uses a different resin, it might be the enviremental kind?

DIM tends to be pretty quick - about a month for a blanc head + the shipping time. But Dollzone tends to have waiting times of 6 months or so... So I hope you already have that body?

 

Has anyone tried Lestia on a (tall-ish) MSD body? I'd like to hybrid her on a tall MSD / short SD, as an older sister to default MSD Annabeth

 

Darn am I starting to regret not getting one of their beautiful MSDs! I just so prefer SDs as of late. I can't want for them all to be produced. Has anyone started a D.I.M. waiting room yet?

Can't help with the head / body - I own an old Love body (the 2.0) but no DiM heads yet.

 

@RaineFournier , Here is Lalia on the old Love body. Her neck is modded too though, I dont know if that helps any

Oh I didn't know Lalia was so pretty! That looks like a good fit in any case. I'm looking to see if she looks to pinheaded on the new Love body...since the heads look so small, from some angles the neck looks REALLY weird. Why did you have to mod her neck?

 

The DiM necks are huge, and the ends are like squared off? But the indentions on the head are shallow and round. So as a result, the pressure of moving the head makes the faceplates pop off constantly! Slimming the neck down and rounding it off helps a lot with that. Ive seen other people mod the head as well, but I didn't go that far.

I agree, the new heads are small, and the newer love body is kind of massive, but I think the proportions are geared to look more 'realistic'. Maybe sanding down the neck some will help?

 

Actually the neck is round and huge, but my Kassia and Bellosse heads had more oval neck holes, so they wouldn't even sit on the neck properly. When they redesigned the body, they apparently forgot that it had to fit the heads

 

By squared off I meant that there was no sloping on the top to sit inside the head like many dolls have-sorry Im not explaining it well. But yeah, it was sort of a poor design

 

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I modded both of my girls' extensively so they fit.

 

i'm glad i ordered the heads only then, so I just need to find a good body to hybrid that hopefully won't need as much work. I don't get why they made the body unable to use their own heads. maybe that's why they are 'renewing', too many problems currently.

 

Oh no, now I'm so nervous! I've never done any mods before. ^^ SANDING HOW DO U DO IT. I wonder if Azelia, being a newer head, will fit any better...I guess only time will tell.

 

I am waiting for a lovely Bellosse~! She'll be my first new doll in quite awhile. I'm hoping to put her on an Aprilstory Junior girl body.

So what's everyone planning to do with their lovely DIM girls (or boys)??

 

Girls here! Lestia is probably going on a smaller body (if her head size allows it) to bridge the gap between her little sister Annabeth (Happy) and my bigger SDs. They'll be part of the real world group of dolls.
Marcellina will get the Love 2.0 body I bought way back when, and she's a bit of an experiment. I don't usually do vampire sculpts, but she's been on the list for ages. I have two ideas for her, maybe I can figure out a way to make one faceup work for both ... one is more of a fantasy setting, the other fin du siècle / 1890s. We'll see once she gets here.

 

All of my dolls are part of one storyline (post-apocalyptic medieval fantasy sort of thing) so Bellosse will be to. First thing those tiny fangs are gonna have to go. Her race is an elf-type (her perfect little ears!) rather than a vampire. I've seen Bellosse with very melancholy expressions, making her a good match for the character. And since she should petite with a very curvy figure, hopefully the 54cm Aprilstory body will work well for her. She'll be so short and cute next to my regular sized SDs.

She's a very minor character but her design is one of my favorites and I thought she'd make a pretty doll. TianShi, hurry up and get here~!

I'm glad I had an excuse to finally spend money I shouldn't have on the D.I.M. girls I've been wanting. I ordered the Anneliese head as an indulgence. I'm not entirely certain what I'll do with her or how long it will take me to even begin that project. But I thought she would make a wonderful sister for Azelia whom I also ordered. I always want to have sibling dolls but then somehow it never happens. As for Azelia, I've decided I want to use her to re-shell a character who is strongly based on my estranged sister. (My dolls are all boring modern people characters.) I may give her a new name, but the core personality and fashion concept are already established for me. I had a whole handful of different sculpts I was considering for her re-shell, and Azelia is definitely the most gentle looking. So hopefully she will be a happy, nostalgic doll. I need to make her some turtle necks and skirts. I need to really go all out with the librarian look this time!

@RaineFournier I also took a gamble on the Love body. I'm with you -- hoping that it will be more usable with the newer heads, though I'm not going to hope for perfection after hearing about all the modification necessary in some cases. At this point I'm too lazy to go on a perfect body hunt. What will make me happiest for now is to receive a full doll in the mail so I can take her out to work on her and play with her straight away.
