hello! i was wondering if anyone had length measurements for the smallest size of the male genitals set from dfh? i have a 48cm doll that im looking to find parts like this for, and this set would be perfect, im just worried that the smallest size will still be too big. here is a link to the listing on bjdivas, i messaged them asking but they only had the middle size on hand to measure. im looking for measurements on the size intended for 56/62cm dolls.
@Rabbit-moon Christina's site is here: Clover singing doll base and if she doesn't have what you'd like to get listed, she can add it (just email her) she also offers purchasing from TaoBao. Usually I just email her about everything, she's very friendly and wonderful to work with!
@Enchiridion DF-H normal yellow is lighter than Volks normal. But, DF-H can resin match to Volks normal, so if you order a body from them you can just ask to have it made in Volks' normal resin color.
@Datsuki tnak you so much the medium chest size is exactly what i'm looking for the whole body is perfect and your girl is STUNNING congrats!
Bit of an odd one, but does anyone have DF-H's jointed 1/3 boy hands? If anyone does, would you be able to measure the circumference of the fattest part of the ball joint that connects into the wrist? I don't see measurements listed even on the taobao listing T_T (on that note, does anyone have any of the optional 1/3 boy hands? I have their 1/3 heel feet and they're rather small, so I'm worried the hands will be on the small side too)
@Astro - I don't know which size they are but for reference the ones that they give out as event gift with the 65cm bodies, the circumference is 6.4cm.
I measured the ball joint at around 5.5cm. Here's a pic comparing them to one of the optional hands and the default for the ver. 3 body. If you need any other measurements or pics, let me know and I'll try to get them. ^^ I also have the 02, 04, and 05 optional hands. (05 is the default for the 56cm body) (click for larger)
@LupusDarkmoon OMG thank you so much, that's all the information I needed and never expected to find! The doll whose hands I want to replace has pretty slim wrists, so I think this might work for me! I would love to see pics of the other hands if it's not too much trouble, simply because there didn't appear to be many photos of them on their listing. Does the resin look thick enough that it could be sanded down at the sides to you? (in the event it doesn't quite fit the wrist socket). I have their 68m 2.0 body and the ball joint on the hands looks pretty sturdy. It's interesting that the size on the ball joint on the default boy 3.0 hands is so much smaller than the optional hands! Edit: If it's not too much trouble, would you mind measuring from the point where the hand meets the ball to the tip of the middle finger as well as the length of the palm? I completely forgot to ask when I asked about ball circumference. I'm trying to get new hands for a doll whose defaults are criminally undersized and out of scale with the rest of him, so I want to make sure I'm not buying something that's still too small lol. @Mahgiep the 1/3 hands are different from the 75cm hands. @xyuemoto Thank you! I think the 65 hands will be a little too big at the wrist socket based on that. I couldn't even find a listing for 65cm optional hands, though I was looking at their Taobao through the phone app which I'm mostly unfamiliar with using >w<
@Astro You're welcome! I'll get some pics of the other hands for you. Would you like to see them next to hands from other companies, too? I think the resin is thick enough to sand on the sides, I'll try to get a pic of the ball joint. ^^ Hand length minus ball looks about 6.4cm. Length of palm about 2.8cm. And just in case, width of palm about 2.4cm (around 3cm at the widest point where the thumb meets). Hope that helps. ^^
@LupusDarkmoon Thank you so much! Photos would be such a big help! That entire length sounds a little longer than what I was expecting based on the circumference of the wrist ball, but I don't think it will be too big. I checked your list of dolls and if you happen to have Switch and/or SD13 hands to compare it to, that's what I've tested on the doll whose hands I'm trying to replace (Souldoll SoulDouble body- such tiny hands T_T). The Switch hands were a little large and the SD13 hands could work, but I'd wanted something a little longer and more mature. (For the record, the Switch hands are about 7.5cm long from base of palm to middle fingertip, the sd13 hands are only 5.5, and the hands I'm trying to replace are 5.4. The Switch and SD13 hands are both about 3cm wide at the palm, the Souldoll hands are only 2.6. They are disproportionately small for the body, so the DF-H hands are sounding just about right!) By the way, if anyone needs to see DF-H 68 hands (or the body, or heel feet, or ballet feet), I've got a handful (I'm so sorry, I had to). I have the standard hands, type 1 (sword hands), type 5 (welcoming hands), as well as the pair of gift hands that came with the body.
@Astro Oh! I actually happen to already have pics of the jointed ones with SD13 hands. Hopefully these will help! I'll still get pics of the other hands, though. (omg those hands sound ridiculously tiny compared to the others orz) (link just in case) Spoiler (link just in case) (link just in case)
@LupusDarkmoon You're the best! That size difference looks about right for what I need- I think the DF-H hands will fit the wrist socket nicely. I forget the circumference but it was somewhere around 6cm. The SoulDouble hands are sooo out of scale IMO (teeny little claw hands! It seems to be mostly the length of the palm that makes them look so small- the Spiritdoll hand on the right is very slim but looks more in scale?), it's bothered me for so long that I finally want to get around to doing something about it. It helps that DF-H color matches too. I already want to order another 68cm 2.0 body to match IllusionGarden, so I might as well send a few pairs of old SoulDoll hands in for matching as well.
Does anyone have 44 cm Rika? Li Qiu - 44cm Doll Family-H Chubby Doll - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections I'd love to see some owner pics and I'd appreciate suggestions on where to find clothes, especially dresses. This doll is chunkier than a mini dolfie dream with a moch ashi body. I'm trying to decide which one I like better.
Hoo boy I'm about to ask the silliest question in my doll-collecting life. So a while ago I'd ordered the uh... male part set from BJDivas and just set it aside as life happened around me. But I'd noticed in their description it states "These sets are designed to be compatible with doll bodies that already have sculpted genitalia. An adapter piece can be attached by eye putty, and each option part can then be attached to the adapter piece by magnet.", but I don't see anything included that obviously matches that description. It's not that I was missing a part (everything in the photo is included), I'm just not seeing anything that would look like an adapter. Has anyone else purchased these and had luck using them on bodies with existing sculpting? If so instructions would be fabulous.
Dear, this is the discussion for large DF-H dolls (50cm and up), I think you'd have more success asking in the corresponding DF-H mini discussion? Sorry...
Hi! Not sure if I'm the only one who noticed this...when it comes to DFH dolls, I've been seeing many doll owners purchase DFH bodies to hybrid with heads from other companies, but rarely see any who would purchase their heads. Is the DFH body posability really that great? Any popular sculpts for their heads?
Hi! I have noticed that too. I only have experience with DF-H's 68cm v1 boy body and their 3-part 65cm boy body. The 65cm body poses realy well and has a wide array of positions. It's probably the best poser I has personally seen. The 68cm body is good, but he cannot move his elbows side-to-side, so essentially the arms can only go back and forth. I have heard that their 63cm girl body has the same problem with her arms. Their resin quality is also very good, although a bit shiny. As for DF-H's heads, I think they are very underrated. I have a Yuzhou head that has great sculpting, esepcially his nose and eyes. I'm surprised he is not more popular. I also love He-Lan's head. She has the perfect facial expression. I actually bought two He-Lan heads to hybrid with a Heydoll body. I think their most popular head is their 45cm boy Yue Jian. He's the only DF-H head I see consistantly in any doll spaces. Hope this helps!
I have been pretty happy with the DFH 72cm Boy Body Ver.II I got. It hits a good spot of looking pretty and being poseable (and avoiding chocolate bar abs on male dolls in the 70cm range is a very limited selection). And they were willing to cast it in transparent resin which was definitely a large motivating factor for me. I think they may have cut back on allowing unusual resin requests since costs of doing business keeps going up these days. The turnaround times are also not bad and the event specials are a pretty good deal IMO.
I'm going to echo what others have already said: the bodies are just very good. Both my big boys use the doll Family-H bodies and additionally I also have the tiny Mian chan/Charm dreaming on the 1/5 body and she poses wonderfully too, no doubt the 1/4 size bodies would be great too. The bodies I have are this & this. I chose them since they were affordable, the wait times weren't bad and because people said they are good posers. + Because in the case of the first one I wanted body that wasn't awfully muscular, finding those is harder than you'd think. All that said, I like a lot of their heads too, I'm just not much of a larger doll person and should sell the two I have away since all they're doing is sitting in their boxes. But if they made 1/4 mini versions of their SD sized heads I'd likely buy multiple.
I'm guessing that part of the popularity is due to the resin matching they did (and will still do if they already have the formula on file) and the fact that the bodies seem to match standard sizes. Can't speak for anything but the new 68cm boy body, but it's well sculpted and doesn't have any awkward looking joints. He fits standard SD17-sized clothing, so I didn't need to buy anything new for him.
agree to all the posing & resin matching. I initially looked into them because they were a good affordable body in the right size and color match for a head I got (DollClans Jaquer), and I really liked the body aesthetics. Unfortunately the first body I got (62cm) was a little too small for the DC head, but I really liked the posing and he fit standard SD17/Uncle size things. Their jointed hands 7 optional feet are also really nice, and if it matters, they have quite an array of Special Parts So hybriding was super appealing for the hands/feet (heel feet for boys!!!!), color matching, and overall aesthetics. Their heads are really nice too, I fell in absolute love with the event Mori9 head that was released with the new 68cm body, and I've always had my eye on Scylla and Beilan! I need a second body soon for the Mori9 head since I ended up buying that separate and in a different color than the 68cm I ended up getting for the DC head, and I'm trying to decide if that will be a body + full doll order or just a body order
So I have my body in front of me, and as I read this, I check it out, and yup, you're right! I never noticed this before! I mean, there is a little push movement, but yup, you can't get them to swing their lower arms out to the side. And I was so in love with this body, now I'm thinking I need another for some of my other floating heads, LOL
Gotta second all the DFH love! I have an Anye on the older 65cm boy body and a hybrid on a 62cm body, and I really love them. The posability and aesthetics of the bodies are top-notch, especially for the price point. I think the 65cm body in particular might be one of my favorites of all time. The sculpting is just so beautiful, it's lean and lithe and just the perfect amount of defined. Suits my assassin character perfectly I got the 2-part torso because I prefer it aesthetics-wise and I don't like waist joints anyway :P I love the head sculpt too, obviously. It's in a somewhat more old-school big-headed and animesque style, which I have a soft spot for anyway. Their recent sculpts have a more realistic aesthetic, but I don't own any of them or the newer bodies either. Here's one of my most recent pics of my Anye: A new face by bickaberry, on Flickr FWIW, he can move his lower arms to the sides, though for some reason the 62cm body can't. Can't say for the newer bodies because again, I don't own them.
Very cool, @bickazer ! Wow, he's amazing and that outfit is chef's kiss! It is actually fortunate that I started collecting bjds earrly on as not all my dolls ended up realistic adults, which is what i tend to go for. Many of my dolls are more traditional with a splash of anime. Thus, now that I'm satisfies with the aesthetic I always wanted, ealistic adults, I can now go back and appreciate my earlier dolls for their anime influence and expand my aesthetics. I do have a bit of an autistic mind, and I'm trying to use my dolls to expand my theory of mind issues. Case in point: I like certain styles of things and (wrongly) assume it ought to be everyone's favorite, LOL. Seriously, I'm trying to be less opinionated and stuck in my ways (thinking of my sister and her furniture choices) But with dolls, it's rather the other way around. I WANT different opinions, aesthetics, ideas. My dolls lack unique personalities. They wear the types of clothes I would wear. If it looks uncomfortable, I can't make them wear it, LOL. This means my dolls are bland, very bland! And I see beautiful doll like your assassin, and really wish I were better at character creation. Now, after many years of collecting dolls, I have dozens of dolls I want to breathe life into and it's a monumental task! But your doll inspires me, thank you so much for the cool picture! It's been a journey for me, and I think ultimately it's why I love dolls. It's potentially a way to understand other people, get into their mind.... so my first task is to give each doll some attributes, like a career, a hobby or 3. A list of likes and wants, and they need an aesthetic that has nothing to do with ME. Then I need to SEE it in the dolls and turn them into actual characters. Then, maybe, I'll be a better person, LOL. NOTE: my next birthday, I'll be 60 years old. I need to get there soon or my time will run out ROFL
@IngieBee hey, I’m turning 73 in October. A very immature 73 at that. I’m not on the spectrum (although I work with spectrum kids) but I also use my dolls to work out peaceful and caring relationships and try to make them diverse (despite mostly being Koreans) in personalities and their childhood stories that shaped them. It’s odd to work on compassion with no judgment through dolls but it works for me. I’ve also learned a lot about Korean culture through dolls.
@bickazer ~ though I've come to love the somewhat more realistic sculpts, I'm a big fan of the old school BJD style and your Anye is *chef's kiss*. I love how you've styled him, he looks so cool. I'm waiting for a Guiyue, and reading everyone's comments about DF-H bodies has been very encouraging. I'm iffy about her hands (so I bought several extra pairs to try) but otherwise the 58cm girl body looks fantastic and I'm really excited for her. Now will she want a friend . . . The 68cm girl DF-H teased on their Instagram looks amazing. Beautiful looking body (are those muscles I see?) AND a lovely face? She may wind up on my wish list.
Oh that's cool too, learning about a culture. I've been trying to make actual characters for years now, but so far, I can only say I have 2 solid dolls, they just came to me one day. But I hope that will happen again soon You are never too old to play or learn or grow, right? 68cm girl???? @Dolly ! Oh my, gotta go look!
I wanted to share my Yuzhou! Deacon DF-H by Ham Beebles, on Flickr Also, @Dolly, I am super excited for this new girl! She'll probably end up on the wish list...
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm not having any luck in my searches. What IS the difference between DF-H and DF-A? Can I put a DF-H head on a DF-A body? What's the resin match like? Has anyone tried/is there pictures? Thank anyone for help!
I think they used to be sister companies at one point in time, but not for several years now. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) Their resin colors no longer match, however depending on neck size and shoulder width, heads can be exchanged. I've heard from several people that Doll Family H has better resin quality, and Doll Family A is a little thinner/lighter with very obvious seam lines. I can attest to the latter, however the doll body I ordered from them suited my needs perfectly (I had it resin-matched to a head that goes perfectly with it), so I don't have any complaints. I hope this helps!
I can say at least for the DF-A bodies I have none of them have seam lines. They're just as smooth as my DF-H bodies. They've all be ordered within the last four years.
@IngieBee and @Dolly Acckkkk sorry for the super late reply, I've just been busy and sick lately But I'm so happy and touched you enjoy my doll so much! I almost feel like I don't really deserve praise for creativity here because I based his style very heavily off his official pictures I actually wanted to get him as a fullset, but they weren't selling it anymore, so I decided instead to try to give him a similar aesthetic? Of course, over time he's developed into his own fully fledged character with a distinct aesthetic, but I definitely didn't come up with him out of thin air, haha.
Oh, so cute! I love his puppy dog eyes! Aw, sorry you haven't been well lately @bickazer , hope you are better now!
DFH new 68cm girl body is stunning their recent body sculps have been killing it but i'm kind of annoyed because it's EXACTLY what i want for a male body lol
Their new muscle girl body also caught my eye, but I'm safe because it's a little too tall and lanky for a character who might have fitted it. My Takumi Kazama finally gets the time to shine on-camera again, because at last, he got the partner he had been waiting for since February this year. (She's a Charm Doll Aria, so petite compared to him, but they look so dang cute together it doesn't matter.) Chemistry by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
I came here to see if there was any talk on the 68cm muscle girl and I can definitely relate to this comment! I know that there are a bunch of people who appreciate a muscle-y girl body but boy, this bod is so gorgeous and has such unique aesthetics, if it only had boy bits, I would love it for one of my male OCs just as much >.<° However, despite that I'm still tempted by Swallowtail, especially because the face sculpt greatly appeals to me as well and her concept is awesome overall ♡ DF-H certainly is rockin' it lately, the limited releases are making it difficult for me though ._. (would've loved Oswin too for example but the budget didn't play along~)
That 68cm girl body is quite beautiful, she reminds me of a model! That face is absolutely gorgeous as well. Thankfully for my wallet though, I am safe as the is too skinny for what I'd want. Looking at that teeny waist, I suspect my 58cm DF-H girl would look downright stocky in comparison.
Hi there! I was wondering if anyone has gotten a DF-H doll in tan somewhat recently? I can't seem to find any photos, and I want to see if it looks too light in color for a hybrid ^^
Hi everyone!! I’m thinking about getting the 68 muscle girl body, but I’m not sure about the head I wasn’t planning on getting her, but the sculpt omgggg and I heard that they can pose really well! My only concern is that I’m more of a MSD person and I don’t know if she would be way too big I don’t know what to dooo sighs
i have a tan doll from this year, i don;t have any other tans to compare with but i can post some pics if that'd help?
@AceofPancakes ~ the teaser DF-H posted for the 68cm girl body was in tan, if that helps any? I noticed that they have two tan colors as well. I don't think they do resin matching anymore, but last I checked they had a ton of colors you can order that match other companies, so maybe that will help? I hope you find a body for your hybrid! @Noririn ~ I love her look too, and would grab her in a heartbeat if she was smaller! I am veeeerry particular when it comes to ginormous dolls as I prefer handling smaller ones. But! They have such a presence, and can look fantastic posed with smaller ones! And DH-H has great pricing, so if you want to try out a really big doll, DF-H is a great choice IMHO. Good luck with your decision! Oh, and it looks like they put another of their heads (Feng He) on the 68cm body as an option. Gosh, I wish DF-H made more heads. They have so many excellent bodies, yet so few heads in most sizes.
I just put the muscle body in yellow on layaway. I'm going to move my Souldoll Karin head over from her old Zenith body. Her character is from a race that is part dragon, so that super skinny look will suit her. And I thought that character was done... Edit-I changed the order to the full doll. It was only a tiny bit more for the head and she can be a fall back for another character I'm currently working on.
I am tempted to change the height of my character so she can have the 68cm muscle body LoL The promo photos are just gorgeous
I'm planning on getting a DFH 72m type II body so I reached out to them about resin colors last month via Alice's Collection and I have been informed they have discontinued domestic resins. This is their current resin chart.
This is very helpful, thank you so much! I have a hybrid set already that will use a DFH head with IOS Class65F NS body. While the body has already been ordered, I have been eyeing a DFH female head that will fit their 63cm body. If pictures are going to be the basis, normal yellow seem to closely match the IOS NS but I read in the DoA forum that the IOS NS veers more on the pink tone than yellow. Or maybe, between pink and yellow?
Ayy, received an update from Christina at Clover Singing that my boys have shipped! I'm excited to have them home at last! I ordered YouGuang and YeZhong.
A bit of a stretch, but trying my luck just in case. Recently stumbled on some nice hand parts from DF and was wondering if anyone here is able to compare it against Fairyland's tan?
