@Rabbit-moon A bit late but I was able to take pictures of my Switch heads, Waseon, Huisa, and Milhwa on the DF-H body. Here's a link to the album I created on flickr, Switch Heads & DFH Body in Rosy White. Huisa and Milhwa are a 99% match to the body, while Waseon's head is more beige compared to the body. All three heads are technically rosy white bought direct from Switch. As for range of motion I feel Huisa has slightly better range. Unfortunately, both Huisa, and Milhwa have been discontinued by Switch.
Wow! Thanks Cloudedmind! The heads look great on that body! And the resin match looks excellent! I am a fan of this body, and own two myself. I think it's a very good quality body and reasonably priced. Definitely a viable option for floating heads. Thanks again for the photos!
Does anyone know which of the resin colours DF-H offers that would match LUTS? I have a Delf but I really love the body that DF-H has
@St. Reinhardt Well shoot, you missed their sale where they did "normal" color matching for free plus 15% off! I don't know how often they have such an event but I did order just before it ended. I'm hoping my paint chip gets to Alice's Collections soon, I sent it regular mail. Might have to buckle in and send it priority, but that's like $15 for a piece of paper! Ugh!
I did order a Hong Zhao during the sale, but yesterday I was looking at my LUTS Delf and thought, well I really need to change out his body ACBJD always has sales though, so I'm not worried that I would lose out haha
I can finally share pics of this guy here, now that he's all painted up and has a body of his own. He's a Takumi Kazama with permanent mods over his closed right eye. I almost always keep his hair brushed over that side because that part could trigger the heebie-jeebies if viewed in full (intentionally conceptualized that way). Isamu Intro 00 by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
@Rabbit-moon I'll try to explain it here since I have yet to post pics of the painted mod in its entirety anywhere online. Here's how he looks without faceup. Now imagine that section with brown apoxie to have dark brown stripes and a spattering of white spots. Depending on the viewer, it would evoke either interlocking tree roots or earthworms, hence the hair curtain.
Wow! Looks intense...but totally cool! I like creative and unique mods and tattoos on dolls. This hobby is wonderful in the way it brings out that kind of artistic creativity. Thanks for sharing! He's gorgeous and spooky at the same time!
I got my DFH boys in a few days ago and was finally able to do a shoot! I'm so excited to have them since they're characters I've had for about 10 years now. These are my first attempts at collage pictures for them and I really like how they turned out. The white haired one is Taras (DFH Su Sha) and the other is his guardian, Erasure (DFH Scylla).
Congratulations, those are really handsome sculpts and the outfits look amazing (as well as the wigs!!)
Hi! Popping in here to ask a few questions. I put this in the Dollfamily mini thread but I think this thread is more active. I found a head by sheer accident that may be perfect for one of my characters! (Yue Jian!) What is the difference between imported and non imported resin options? I presume imported is higher quality? Anyone had any luck hybriding a head onto a minifee male body or a model delf? Specifically interested in Normal and tan comparisons! I know someone mentioned they do a resin match service, but I’m not sure how you’re supposed to request that?
@bliss5 , What they call "Imported Resin" is the slightly transparent resin that kind of allows light to bounce differently. Some people find it to be realistic and love it, but it can be much harder to match than regular urethane resin. I like both, but usually go for urethane because it's cheaper, it's less likely to yellow and it doesn't make that much of a difference in photos to me.
Ahhhh I see! Thank you for this answer! I guess I’d go with non imported if I want to hybrid! Has anyone collected a Dollfamily resin colour chart anywhere? I’m having trouble finding one!
I only have white and DFH is creamier than DFA although I will say they look paper white alone. The center one is Supiadoll
You can check a color chart HERE I can for sure say the the normal pink irl looks far less dark than in the picture, so either they changed the colors lately or that picture is taken in the dark
Hi! Does anyone have a DF-H body/doll in normal yellow resin? I ordered and received a body in normal yellow, which I asked to custom match to Switch normal. However the body I received looks incredibly light (like a creamy white skin). I asked my dealer and they said DF-H told them it was made correctly, so I wonder if their normal yellow is just really light?
@mirrorcle_world - No, dfh normal yellow is obviously yellow and not a white colour. This photo is the dfh 65cm body in normal yellow and a little rebel head in normal. You can see how the body is noticeably a bit more yellow than the head.
Thank you for your reply! I guess I will have to email my dealer again. They obviously sent me the wrong order
@mirrorcle_world As you asked them to make your body in Switch normal the body isn't go match DF-H's normal yellow, so comparing the two resin colors to try and see if you got the right one won't be helpful. As xyuemoto pointed out the Switch normal sample DF-H used may have been on the lighter side. The color sample could be old, and I think Switch has changed their colors once or twice over the years.
@xyuemoto @Cloudedmind You may be right, I didn't think of it that way. I just never knew Switch normal to be very light. Thank you!
Yah, if you want it to match exactly, you have to send in a color chip (from a paint store) or a piece of resin of the color you want. That looks like my Loongsoul Normal Yellow on the body Every company is different. I was able to match my pinkish Rainman head to the loongsoul body using pastels. a bit of a light yellow did the trick. Usually a pro facup artist can match it no problem I also had to lighten another head recently (it took 10 coats of white pastels with a couple of layers of a yellow, which could have been accomplished so much easier with an air brush, but I am not skilled nor do I own one, LOL. But it can be done. Spoiler: OT doll to demonstrate
oh my. i also ordered a df-h 72cm with a color match from switch normal skin.now im afraid i will encounter the same prob like yours.
i ordered through a friend, and he asked DFH through taobao about this and they said they are using the latest 2021 switch color samples. I haven't recieved mine since i just ordered it, so i can not compare. maybe u can ask your dealer again about this?
Hmm, that's strange then. If they're using the latest Switch normal colors, then my body should have been a better match. I had initially assumed they had just mixed up my order with someone else's. My dealer did ask DF-H, who checked their production record of the body, and they said my order was made correctly. So idk. Maybe Switch's normal resin is inconsistent from year to year?
did you order yours early this year? or last year? i hope that can get it sorted out. because even if the color samples are outdated it should match atleast 70-80%
Does anyone have any info on this body and it's poseability (any pics would be a massive and endlessly appreciated bonus )? I can't tell how new it is and would like to hear some experiences before diving in. Thank you
Sorry @mxwutter, I don't, and I'm still looking for reviews or pictures of the 62" girl body I have it on order for an old head and I'm dying to see owner pictures Hope someone can help both of us??
@IngieBee I'm so sorry to keep you waiting, I just posted a quick body review of the DF-H 63 cm girl body in the photo reference section, I really hope it helps!! For anyone who's interested, you can find my review here: DF-H 63 cm girl body mini-review
@mxwutter *peeks in* I posted some pics of that body in this pic request thread, hopefully they help. Maybe one day I'll get him finished and will remember to share the final result here lol
@LupusDarkmoon That helps a tonne, thank you! @Gamine Thanks a lot for linking your review @IngieBee we have been saved
LOL, yes indeed @mxwutter , will you be getting the boy body? I can't wait for mine to arrive but my color sample still hasn't arrived. I'm going to have to pay over $15 USD to mail a piece of paper to HK
@IngieBee So I'm very obsessed with poseability and currently trying to rank a lot of bodies based on whether they'd fit that and my height requirement... Nothing set in stone so far, especially now that I've been made aware of DollPamm's new boy body in this size range. I'm having trouble deciding I wish someone had invented an app to make colour picking and referencing easier to do, without having to send physical stuff back and forth across the world. These days everything takes twice as long, due to no one's fault of course... but that doesn't make the waiting any easier!
Well, I recently used pantone colors with ResinSoul I found the right color paint chip from Bher then I found out Behr will convert the color to hex for internet/computer use. Then I discovered Pantone will turn hex numbers into their closest pantone color. This is what I got: I chose alternative 2 (they're not in order, I made a smaller picture) The color turned out exactly like that (slightly browner/darker) which was so close, I really don't see it, and facups blur that kind of difference really well. Unfortunately, DF-H doesn't do pantone
hey everyone! i just got a DFH boy (62cm) body and good god i love him already! The posability!!! ....notice I said body though... the body didn't work out for the head I wanted, which isn't much of a problem.. I'm going to just get another head for it :3 But, potentially silly question, since it doesn't (usually) work for other companies, are the two 75cm heads (specifically Scylla) super big compared to the other 1/3 heads?? If there's some gapping i don't mind, I can mod that. I'm just really obsessed with those two, but of course have a potentially small body
I own a 62cm male body (not DFH) and I own some sd17 heads too (one is from DFH): I can say for sure bigger heads won't fit the body well, it's going to look pretty bobbleheaded (I tried it with my bigger heads and it was a big no for me). There's a few cases where sd17 heads fit sd13 bodies, but usually it doesn't work out well
aw, unfortunate! What's the SD17 head from DFH that you have? I suppose i'll just have to order scylla sometime in the future and pick a different head for this body
Really having trouble finding a suitable body for a DFH head. Any known company matches (Pink, yellow, or tan, I’m flexible atm!) I’m ok with not a 100% match. I’ve not bought it yet but asked BJDivas and they said resin matching isn’t available for just heads. I think the DFH body I want is ok enough but hands are kinda chubby and stumpy in comparison when I want more defined hands and it’s driving me crazy. Thanks!
Has anyone seen the new 35cm boy? He's a tiny ballerina I'm thinking I might order him, but I'm unsure of the size of the clothes he needs.
I just did earlier today! On DF-H's Taobao it says he's 1/5 scale, that sure is a strange size, not sure what stuff he can wear.
I ordered one from Alice Collections because I'm curious and have no sense at all. I guess I'll check in over at the DF-h tiny section.
Ah new event. Is this the time I finally pull the trigger on clear 72cm body for my ghost knight concept.... The new boy is cute, but not the size for me.
Well my 63cm DF-H Girl Body arrived today and I really love it! The neck is a wee bit long for my heads, but I don't mind shortening it, and the shoulders are a cm narrower than I expected, but not too bad. This is because I think most people measure from shoulder tip to tip, but they stated, and I missed it, that they measure outside arm to arm. I think I'll be buying more for my floating heads I'm glad I missed that though as I might not have bought this body otherwise and would have missed out on this great body!! I love the way she poses!
