Doll Chateau Waiting Room v.7

I've been waiting on my blank winged Isabel for almost a year in February from bjdivas. It will be my birthday next month and I'm getting upset about not having her yet. Maybe I should contact DC about if they sent her to them? This is my first experience with a dealer and now I know why I only bought my dolls directly from the company..

 

I'm in the exact same boat with you, it'll be a full year in February for me as well. However, I don't think it's the dealer's fault. DZ/DC have been overwhelmed with orders, etc, hence why they have had the two very recent discontinuation events and how they've hired on more staff. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes in waiting times if you directly order or go through a dealer. I hope we both hear something soon, cause I feel your frustration. BJDivas made comment on the wait times on page 6 and 9 of this thread about how things are going.

 

@SaraChimera I haven't either, but I know enough people that have!

I wouldn't blame BJDivas for this delay either. I do think DC/DZ weren't expecting the response to the discontinuation sale, so it threw their casting schedule even farther off instead of helping. I've had longer waits directly from the company than this, Customhouse took over a year and half! I personally like going through dealers because they can deal better with the company if there are problems.

 

I feel the same as you guys, I just hope I get a notification for my Fuya soon. It's been over a year now... It seems like whenever I order a fullset of a doll something goes wrong

I'm waiting for the new Noah fullset and a blank Julianne! I've actually already gotten a blank Noah, but.. i couldn't.. not.. :'D

 

I'm waiting for Alan! I ordered him in November so there's still plenty of time before he's even on schedule. I got the fullset so I'm expecting a really long wait (although hopefully it will be shorter due to the recent changes.)

 

I forgot specific waiting rooms existed, reading up on how backed up orders are as I finished my 10 month layaway with BJDivas last month on a DC Noah and I am just trying to be more patient for the shipping invoice

 

i think my Medeas with winged body is a fairly recent order but i was lucky and got my September order quick. they supposedly have some dolls ready to go, like Noah. i hope they come out with another SD boy, so i can get the A-08 body.

 

Whelp, might be getting into the wait again once I figure out who to order from. The new scorpian boy... he's got me man.

 

Mood i swear. I really want him but i can't seem to really justify it ;(

 

I have the money it's just... a large chunk of change.
but he'd go well with my Xaveira...

I passed on the girl ones because while I loved their bodies I didn't much like their faces. I LOVE the new boy's face though.

he is styled really nice in the fullset. if he looked a little bit older i'd been in trouble... i suppose my wallet should be grateful i'm somehow missing immediate updates of new gorgeous things...

 

@purple_monkfish I feel you there! His head is just adorable, I love it, but I'm less keen on the body for my own collection. Still lightly tempted even though he wouldn't fit in, so hopefully I'll get to see lots of owner photos down the road

 

I just gotta find a dealer. Angelesque is a bit uncertain atm. She said she was shutting up shop but then she changed her mind and i'm a bit confused.
At least this time it's time limited so I have a month or so to figure out who the heck I order from.

Has anyone ordered direct from DC and do they mark things down or do you get hit with a full nasty customs charge?

 

I do not think it is possible to buy directly from DC, it's been a while but I tried some years ago and they sent me the list of their dealers instead.

 

That's what I feared, as their website is a bit... not user friendly.

I suppose it's either ACBJD or hope Angelesque reopens next month properly. It's all a bit up in the air with her.

ACBJD were fairly good last time but they SUCK at communication, they deliver, but they don't really tell you much until stuff dispatches which I find a bit uncomfortable, especially with long waits like DC's.

I suppose I go nag Carol hahah.

Ceph shall be MINE! I'm thinking peach, for a change. Though I haven't seen many images of what that colour actually looks like beyond "very very very pale almost white with a pinkish tinge"

 

The white is more creamy and makes the peach look white by comparison. I was shocked when I thought I unboxed a white doll when it was really peach.

 

Lol yeah I have a few white and it's a sort of cream tone. Given the options are white, peach or grey for extra, i'm thinking peach. Which i'm gonna assume to be a very slightly pinkish white rather than a slightly yellowish white that "white" is lol. Then i'll blush to bring out the pink.

 

@purple_monkfish - have you checked out Clover Singing/jeeryama as another option? she already put scorpion boy on her non-ebay site. you can put him in the cart and see discounted price since there's an event on now. i hope that's ok to mention in this context, if not tell me & i'll edit. because of customs is it easier to go from China straight to you, instead of through US or another country's broker?

my Mephisto is peach resin, it is still very light, but not so "bone", like there is a faint blush under the skin. it's nicer than i thought it was going to be i have to take some other pics today, i could try to get a good comparison if you wanted.

 

@Grimalkin Could you post a photo of the peach skin from DC? I've never seen it before. I ordered Peach for Noah, but I'm still quite curious.

the lighting is not always so great in my place, but if you can tell from those shots, Mephisto has a peach head and white body.

Hi everyone ! Does anybody here received a doll from DC with the wrong skin color ? When that happened, how many time did you wait until they send you another one ? I ordered a Y-02 body to Octarine last year, and when I unboxed it at the beginning of the month, it was in WS instead of PNS. I returned it to Octarine, and apparently it was Doll Chateau's fault. Now i'm just.. waiting, and It is soooo frustrating

 

No idea, but I'm waiting to hear back since they sent me the wrong doll.

I figure it's taking longer for them to sort out all of the backlogs and eMails, but I'm not too worried.

 

Hopping in late to say I ordered a Julianne fullset with the surprised faceup in grey skin from BJDivas on layaway at the beginning of November! Making my last layaway payment next month! I really, really hope nothing goes wrong with my order... I have a terrible track record of something going wrong with every one of my orders from Dollzone, DC's sister company >.<

But i do hope nothing goes wrong :< What has happened with the others?

 

Dollzone order #1 had a doll ship with the wrong head and a piece on another doll arrived broken, Dollzone order #2 had the doll come missing part of the fantasy parts (couldn't get the wings on the doll since a vital part was missing), Dollzone order #3 was a doll ordered in a discontinuation event which came in the wrong resin colour: NS yellow instead of white skin. Orders #1 & 2 my dealer worked with Dollzone to fix the issues, but order #3 the dealer asked Dollzone to cast the doll in the correct colour for me but they wouldn't (maybe the mould blew?) so I had to get a refund (the dealer kept the doll cast in the wrong colour). :/ The dealer did say that at the time of order #3 the Dollzone rep they spoke with had just changed and they were having some issues with the new staff (this was ages ago, BTW)

I am REALLY hoping my Doll Chateau buying experience doesn't wind up like my Dollzone buying experience

 

I think I belong here....I was in contacr with Doll Chateau about placing an order for Laney and am noe just waiting for them to get back with freight fees and layaway plan! (Im only slightly worried since last I heard from them was Jan 18th..)

The moth body though....I couldn't resist!

thanks for the comparison! the peach looks nice, more of a healthy pale white with the tiniest hint of pink.

I'm curious when the Juliennes will start arriving. I ordered a blank one in white who I intend to dye black. She won't get a mouth, I actually really like how spooky her sculpt is without one. So i'm thinking black, red, maybe a hint of gold for her.

I'm looking forward to it. Though i'm wary of how fragile that central spine might be. I hope it's okay.

And now i'm waiting for Angelesque to reopen orders so I can start my Layaway for Cephalopod. He's got me all inspired. I'm thinking browns and reds for his blushing, go really kinda naturalistic there. But now of course i'm thinking maybe I should get white and dye him brown. Nghhh decisions... hard!

 

I'm just eyeing my bank account right now waiting for my funds to go through so I can get that Cephalopod, because maaan I want him so so sooo bad. I'm tempted to get him a human body in the future so the character can have two forms, we will see if he looks okay on the body I have here. He'd still use the scorpion primarily though

 

Congrats! Did you order the fullset? I've been trying to keep up with who got Their orders and when.
I got the fullset and because of the dc backlog updates are basically nonexistent.

Every time someone gets theirs i get my hopes up but nothing new yet... I just hvae to be careful because i don't want to see any pictures of the faceup till i get mine.

Forgot to put my Juliann on the WL! Just added. Ordered on Nov 11th, gray, fullset. It looks like we have a shorter wait time than is normal for DC right now if I'm reading the waiting list right. But I'm sure there were a serge of orders for Juliann so maybe we'll be delayed.

Also @kyogrx please post you Hyman when he arrives! He's on my wishlist but there's just no pics out there of him. I'd love to see

 

Just found out my Xaviera has arrived and will be on her way to me. She was an April 2019 order, who somehow came in before a February 2019 order for another DC doll, heh. Hope that means more similarly placed orders will be coming in for others.

 

I just realized that I should be in here as well as in the Layaway Waiting Room!

I went for a 9 month layaway with BJDivas, since I've researched them and found people saying wonderful things about them and their customer service. So I went ahead and ordered a Nicola-A fullset in green skin, and after reading about the wait times, I'm seeing that I'm going to have a long wait. oof. I don't mind waiting, it gives me time to focus on the dolls I wasn't able to work on due to health issues.

Oh well, you know the saying. "Good things come to those who wait."

Now I'm trying to encourage my partner to join the wait, since they want a Hyman full set.

I'm still waiting on a body from the first head discontinuation event, I ordered her in March 2019 so I'm about to make the final 12-month payment and join the one-year club...

I'm also at one year, three months with their sister company, DZ. Not the happiest collector in the world right now...

 

@SilverWinglie I'm right there with you. Still waiting on a Y-Body-06 that I ordered in February. Not a super happy camper, as my previous experience has been 6-9 months with DC.

DC Julienne order was what, halloween? So that's gonna not be till middle of the year. My Dream Valley order was July and none of that has started to show up yet so still waiting. And then I have a non bjd preorder that's been delayed a few times.

I’m new DC owner here, hope on your king help in choosing agent.
I ordered Bella from Denver Doll stock (she comes very fast I really didn’t expected), and also I have Queena I purchased from previous owner, second hand.
Now I’m seriously think to order Nicola fullset, but I’m confused which agent to choose.
Guys can you suggest Alice Collections?
Should I write them first before place and order and discuss all questions? I’m not English speaker, I’m afraid I cannot explain well
If there any serious problems with them? I mean I saw someone said that they sometime delayed orders… How about feedback? They contacting , updating? Or I should every time ask them myself?
Does they say approximately time of waiting order?

I ask only your opinion guys, I’m sure everyone have their own experience, so I just want to imagine how purchase is going on with agent help..

ACBJD seem to be fine for dolls, they're just not great for accessories imo as they don't make it clear what's in stock and what has a long wait. But when i ordered a doll from them they were absolutely fine and stress free.

DC generally have LONG wait times though, which leads me to often look for in stock dealers lol. But if you want to take the plunge and get in for the wait, acbjd is fine.

What country are you in? EU might benefit from using Angelesque but in my experience Alice's marks stuff down anyway so you avoid customs. Which is always nice.

By the way if DC producing time very long, in case full set I’m really afraid to suppose that all customizing process will be endless. But I didn’t see Nicola in full set on stocks, so seems there is no choice, only preorder.

I’m in Japan, but official DC agent here don’t have any benefits , and even cannot say if my order will goes smoothly.

@Eva Brown - i have had mostly excellent experiences with all the dealers i have worked with so far. i wound up doing business with quite a few when looking for certain things/sculpts especially in stock items. with your location, is it easier for shipping costs, time in transit and customs to work with China?

if so, i can say that i have had excellent service with authorized dealer jeeryama (eBay store for in stock) and her online (pre-orders) store Clover Singing. you can do pre-order through eBay but she has to charge freight, where through the online store dolls are free shipping with tracking. the website is sometimes a little odd depending on your web browser, so if you click a section and it looks like nothing loaded, scroll all the way down, sometimes the content is at the bottom, or there is a second category under the doll maker's name on the side you need to click next. She gives great discounts, and participates in the events. she answers emails fast, and i think the longest i had to wait was maybe a couple of days and it was a holiday period for her area so that was very responsive. I might have been lucky to place an order at the right time for the specific dolls i received, but my DC order came in 3 months for a Noah, Fergus and an A-03 body. if the doll you want is new and not on her site you can email and ask her to put it on and she will load it so you can use the cart. there are sometimes items that are older on the site that are no longer available, since it is pre-order if the maker's site says something is no longer made then go with that. she does layaway, typically 3 months.

i've also worked with ACBJD and they have been fine to work with as well. i think they might have a lot of inquiries, and probably in every language so it can take longer to get email responses at times, but they have always written back. they have nice in house promotions you can combine with doll purchases for free/nearly free accessories, practice heads and similar. dolls aren't always free ship (especially tinies), but if you work with the promotions you can figure out how to make it happen. my pre-order with them was for Dream Valley which is currently overwhelmed with longer ship times than DC/DZ so i can't really say much about timing. regular accessories came pretty fast but certain levels of service don't have tracking. i haven't really bothered to pester them with emails about my pre-order since i know no one else has received anything DV for even 6 months earlier than my order. i just surrendered to the experience i suppose.

The US dealers have been really great to work with as well, and i wonder if they can ship directly from DC to you as an option?
might be worth asking. if it has to ship from US to you the shipping is probably pretty high, and customs will depend on your country where i think US doesn't tax extra for dolls incoming.

I think the European dealers have a lot of tariff/customs, plus customs wait times to deal with so it might be harder for them to provide competitive shipping to your market.

there is a service feedback section here on DOA under the "reference" tab, but i'm not sure how frequently folks actually do reviews. reminds me i need to go & write a few more myself

This is also my first DC, and I went through BJDivas, because they let you have up to a year layaway. I'm doing a 9 month one.

From what I understand, Nicola is a new sculpt, so I haven't been able to find any owner pics yet.

yesterday night I have been tried to place an order to Alice collection, but realized that they accept only PayPal transfers. I don’t like to use it because of commission.. Bank transfer if better in my case, so I think we’ll find a solution with jeeryama..

So she promised to confirm the 3 months layaway for me and send me an listing page on eBay! I can’t believe it
By the way, I just wounding, How does it looks like (layaway) because I never did it before. But really Im already start to wait Nicola-B in full set from today^^ Jeeryama said that it takes 5-6 months now for DC to customize an order.


P.S I saw on Flickr today that someone already got Nicola blank on Body K-11 Winged, same as Isabel was. She looks really amazing even if she is blanc

 

I've not used Jeeryama before, but in case you were wondering how layaway works, this is how:
You put down some money on something, and then you pay a certain amount each month until it is paid off. If you want to pay Nicola-B off in 3 months, then chances are Jeeryama will divide the payments into three parts.

I decided that since Nicola-A will take so long, I will make payments that are smaller. That way, I feel like I'm working towards paying on my Nicola-A and they're not even cast yet, so both Doll Chateau and I are both taking baby steps. We will eventually meet in the middle, when Nicola-A is paid off and DC has them cast, painted, body blushed and their fullset is ready. We can both take our time.

Congrats on contacting Jeeryama! I hope you get your Nicola-B fast, I can't wait to see her!

I found the Nicola on flickr, and she looks really cool in gray skin! What a lucky person they are!

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 thank you, I got how works layaway program. Jeeryama offer max 3 months of layaway, and also she said that currently, DC brand customizing period is 5-6 months now. Well I’m already resigned to wait “a little”

unfortunately, on Flickr there is only one Nicola I found, those in Blanc White or Grey skintone. This Nicola-A I saw someone shared on Russian DC club on bjdclub.ru

There are no pics on other SM, no instagram, no Flickr, seems first butch of this mold were just released. Omg I hope DC will get enough orders to make this producing period a lil faster.

About horn, I thought it will be removable, but I expected that there will be an inner magnet or something like that. And also, I didn’t understand till now how moving wing joints. Really hope we will see this mold more and more in internet soon!

Yes, the horn is removable, which works for me. I might actually get her another horn from someplace. Its something to consider. I'm glad that the wings can be moved in like that, it would make posing her so much more diverse. I'm going to hope that the people you found that have theirs already post more pics!
