Doll Chateau Waiting Room v.7

I ordered four heads the end of February and am still waiting Is anyone else waiting on heads only?

For reference, I'm waiting on Stacy, Christina, Snow Nymph, and Isabel.

 

I'm surprised they have done a second one out like this, considering they also discontinued bodies during the one in march due to specific sculpts like Landa which was B-body 12.

 

I have to wonder how popular the bodies they’re discontinuing are. I don’t think I ever see the winged sculpts in photos here (I have Zenobia, but haven’t “finished” her yet..). I wonder if they’re doing this to try to streamline ordering by just taking off items not commonly ordered? I could be completely wrong, but I just almost never see the wings and that got me thinking...

 

I was wondering if anyone needed help with entries on the wiki list? it's been helpful (makes me more patient ha) to see how long some of the earlier orders took with discontinuation #1, but there are not many entries since April. it can't just be me...

@Chameleon - those wings got me, total FOMO. the cost was stopping me, but discount + threat of disappearance, well, time to find a way.

Only been a month since I was last in the waiting room, but considering October is just around the corner, the waiting is getting so much harder!
My Alan elf head in green, matching K-body-12 and yellow antlers are still processing after nearly 8 months!
I'm honestly kind of worried as to why the held 2 discontinuation events so close to each other, and I hope i hear something soon. I'd email Angelesque about it but I'm still waiting to hear back about something I asked in July.
If they are doing it by sculpt and not as they come/resin colour, I sure hope Alan comes up soon!

 

Okay it's been 10months for my Pluto now and no new updates from DC yet.

 

wow, those are long lead times for certain. I think I'm glad I found some in stock items to keep me busy in the meantime...
they are both somewhat smaller companies perhaps? and with the shared resources, mmm. seems like the spider bodies were shipping recently? i guess if it was me with a small crew, I would want to change the mold assembly line as infrequently as possible, power through runs of similar bodies/heads. trying to use rationalization as a coping mechanism ha ha

 

I know that feeling!! I got so lucky to find mine for a deal second hand, and I'm just debating if I want to get the male version, despite that lately I haven't been super into male dolls.

I have 3 girls on layaway through BJDivas right now! A Barbara, Alberta, and a Sleepy! I wanted to get one of the Xaviera's but I'd literally just gotten one secondhand and couldn't justify getting another lol the announcement post went up literally the day after I put in my last payment for her

 

I recently got my Doll Chateau Clara head that I ordered back in march from Alice Collections. Now I'm a bit unsure about her nose.
If you are a Clara owner, pretty please, let me know if that nose looks normal to you. I searched the net up and down for a clear profile of this sculpt, but I couldn't find one. Maybe it's just the little "extra" resin under the nose? But the nose looks somewhat too flat to me. What do you think?

 

My green centaur body for my Lance head finally shipped today! It should be here by Thursday!

 

@lovelessism sorry you're sitting at the 10-11 month wait. I hope they get to your order soon! I'm sitting at 7 for my order from back in February. BJDivas hasn't had any news any of the times I've emailed and I'm starting to get antsy.

Same here! I only ordered one Charles head, blank in NS. Also ordered late February and nothin' yet sadly. The body I picked out is just waiting at DDE for the head :/

 

I ordered my DC Evangeline Fullset v.B in the middle of August this year through Angelesque. She mentioned they would probably take around 6 months or longer even, just hoping it’s not too long as she’s my first to the crew and I don’t know how patient I can hold myself to be after February.

 

I'm waiting on a head only (mephisto.pheles) that I think was ordered near the end of the first discontinuation, so March (?) . I bought it from an "on the way" status. Dealer thought maybe October, but I'm not holding my breath based on everyone's reports here - seems like longer than usual because of high volume orders.

me = totally not patient and bought some things that were in stock to keep me busy. and then some other things that will probably take a year to get here. haha but I'm restraining myself from sending any emails to the dealers.

Really good to hear some folks are getting orders in though, I can't wait to see pics! @Shiro - ooo that green centaur, I love how they look in that colour!

 

@schmooples I've asked AC if there was any update and they said DC would take 2 more weeks to finish my order, dunno if I could trust them this time I hope you'll get your order soon too!

 

He arrived today! He did have mold release on him but the couple of stains came right out with a magic eraser and a light pass over him with a washcloth warm water and dish soap got it right off without having to unstring him. The Lance head I got fits perfectly! I'll post pics soon!

 

Woo! kinda crazy with the mold release, seems like hit or miss for folks lately... i'm glad it came off so easily

ok sorry to post two days in a row, but i got exciting news that my mephisto.pheles head got in to Octarine and will ship soon! His antlers are coming later, but that is just fine. he was ordered sometime in discontinuation 1.0
now if only the package elves will speed my shipments smoothly....

still in the long haul waiting for his body and more crew.

Meanwhile, today is a seven-month boundary for my order for Adrian's head. And I have a persistent feeling that Alice's guys had already tired from all these questions about DZ/DC delays and copy-pasts me only formal reply without contacting with the company itself.
So, yesterday I wrote to DC directly. Hallo? Dear studio, did you lose my order or what? Please, answer me when you find a time to cast two details and stick a firmplate? Well, I exaggerate, of course, I wrote to them more politely, but in the same key.
I just want to be sure that my boy will finally get home and nobody suggest me a refund (as I saw it in adjacent DZ waiting topic) because of any mistake.

There was no other doll, which I tormented myself about so much. And thinking about I still cannot save him from this hell... it makes me ache almost physically.

 

That green is so lovely!! I'm really glad I got Landa in that, even if it means she's probably going to take a longer.

 

@Nata-eslava - others have mentioned in the previous thread that dolls are most likely being cast in certain batches. For example, you can see many Elizabeths were received at around the same time; same for other dolls like Pluto, etc. Adrian was a relatively new release that was discontinued soon after he was released and realistically, he wasn't very popular. As @IttyBittySpider also mentioned, many others have waited for 6-7 months due to the number of orders received during the big discontinuation event.

If you don't want to wait anymore, you could probably ask your dealer for a refund if they will give you one, but you probably want the head more. Other than that, a longer wait time doesn't mean they will offer you compensation. All of my DC orders that were placed before the discontinuation event still took 5-6 months, and I am still waiting on an order from them, too. Unfortunately, there are long waits and long delays that are very frustrating... I can't even remember the last time I got a doll that was made in the quoted wait time...

 

I had that happen with Iplehouse once. Arrived in the quoted time, that is. It was wonderful and so unusual that I wasn't ready for her to arrive, lol. DC and DZ at least are usually pretty good about not going more than few months beyond the quoted time.

 

I've wondered just how many of certain models actually were produced (both DZ & DC), would be interesting to see the stats.
I've only been able to find a handful of mephisto.pheles on DOA and instagram. i wonder how many will pop up once the last orders all ship.

Adrian is really beautiful, if I hadn't missed the first round, I would have been waiting with you @Nata-eslava.
though MP was my gateway BJD, making me fall into this whole world!

as it stands, I wound up ordering that winged adult body but with a Medeas head in discontinuation 2.0 - and looking at that green, I almost wished I'd done that, but I did want to be able to swap bodies around and all my 1/3 bois are WS or the new peach. maybe I'll crack out the airbrush eventually...

Still, they are such unusual sculpts and worth the wait imho.
i'm glad for the waiting room camaraderie, sort of eases the antsy part of anticipation

 

Still waiting on my Fuya fullset. I ordered her in December. I asked BJDivas for any updates and they said that they already got the blank bodies and shipped them but they think because of the discontinuation of many dolls that doll chateau has been really swamped. That's just their prediction though.
I had a 12 month layaway on her so I'm hoping that she'll be done before the end of the year, I'll just pay off the rest at that point.

 

If there's anyone else who ordered a fullset Fuya i would really like to know if you have any updates. Seems like lots of people got their blank dolls months ago.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not tired of waiting (I had to wait for a couple of DollShe boys not long ago, so...) For me there is nothing worse than uncertainty. In case of DC I’m just worry that a history with Deer head from the neighboring topic may occur again. I don't want to be in such a horrible situation when someone forgot something, and there is no chance to change it, because a casting mold is already gone into oblivion.
A theory about casting each sculpture in batches mysteriously doesn’t work against the background of the fact that I have twice seen this doll was received by its customers. The last one I had found at flickr made me numb for a while with only two thoughts:
"How lovely he looks without that consumptive face-up from promo photos!" and
"Why there are still no news about mine?"
The last one forced me to write directly to the company for any clarification of my order circumstances. They replied recently that sent my order to Alice yesterday, so I hope, everything will be good now.
...I was trivially afraid to lose him, and it has nothing common with an ownership of a rarity or something like that. There is my personal and in some measure supernatural reason… not everything can be explained in words, sorry.

I absolutely agree with you. Many of them have complex and elaborate mood. It's a kind of phantasmagoria, but not everyone is ready to plunge into it again and again. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, in my mind Adrian as a whole doll doesn't exist beyond his promotional image of the priest scorched with evil. However, I'll try to make him more worldly man, taking his default conception and spirit as a basis.

 

@Nata-eslava - I'm so glad you got word. I had a similar thing with the "neighboring topic" (i love that) for a discontinued head as well! i was so very sad as i felt he was MP's brother... there are so many sites with active models that are truly gone.

And oh yes, so much yes for this... plunge indeed... my first signature was "fell in the deep end"
I think I would have never actually bought a BJD without seeing DC's work.
I would have prowled the pictures and marveled at the realism etc, but MP definitely pushed me over the edge. He too has this image because of his given name and the "antlers" (I mean lets just call them what they are - horns) but with out them, he is another thing entirely.

I do now have a lot of other interests, and the ones at home now keep stealing my wallet in the night and placing pre-orders to liberate their brethren and familiars, but it's mostly DC and associated

I was wondering if anyone had any information yet on the DC Noah and the others fullsets yet, XD been waiting since January, and apparently they are on holiday atm so was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat, I've just got my DZ fullset from November XD

 

My Pluto arrives today guys! > w < I'm super happy.
The blushings are great! the paint job are quite improved (except they forgot the details on her wrist)
They didn't gave me her original eyes and on the back of her wig are longer than it shoud be, also her hair bun should be more pointy, my gf said now she got sailormoon hairstyle.

overall, she's lovely

 

Ooooo! so pretty! the fade on the purple is really nicely done, the matte makes it look soft! What tone is her resin?

@L.Vanity - i only saw some blank Noah's show up recently, but there was a full set that delivered to a collector that was liquidating his whole collection on eBay in late September. he said he had just received it, but no telling when it was originally ordered. It was cool to see one with owner photos though. Of course, I had just put a blank one on layaway, so i felt pretty weird bidding on it but i lost anyhoo.

Does anyone know: I'm supposed to get my "props" today Hugin & Munin. They were old stock with a dealer so i got lucky. Can i put a picture in this forum, or it has to go to off topic?

 

Wow, it's great to see one of these babies finally home! It's also nice seeing her with different eyes and at a different angle from the promo pictures. I wasn't 100% sure about the face but seeing it like this make her look super cute. Out of curiosity, can she actually stand one those legs at all or is she too heavy?

 

Yes she can stand >< but you need to adjust all of the legs nicely so she won't fall. Her leg joints have a lock so it was easier to pose

btw has anyone got Charon? the pastel scorpio one.
my gf was so hype about DC joint system she keep looking on the site since yesterday XD

 

I saw a few blank, I'm guessing it's going to be a while still, though I hope they do a better job blushing than DZ did....

 

the Noah owner pics I saw were really close to DC's. only a little darker blue on antlers than i thought the promo pics, a little bit different design around the knees & hocks, and the jewels were clear instead of black, but the DC pics have a black background, so maybe they really are clear. the skeleton (my favourite part) was spot on. i love him in full set, I'm excited for you!

Congratulations! It seems he's responsible for a number of people finally taking the plunge into the hobby, I remember seeing him years ago and dreaming about his full set.
I don't suppose you know more or less when the antlers will start shipping? the discontinuation made me realise they were the only part I truly wanted and ordered a pair, but haven't had any news at all about them in 9 months now!

 

it's a wonder i didn't get into more trouble than i did already. there were so many of the disco models i would have loved to get.

And i completely missed the DZ last call. I'm looking for a specific one from them now too. sorry a lil OT. but they are all sort of intertwined with the shared caster, right? so these big orders are chaos i'm sure.

originally the dealer thought everything would come in at the same time in October, but the antlers got delayed. so they're supposed to travel with my DV Glen wolf, and well, they're also very behind. So i don't have much info, but mine were ordered in March so that's only 7 months now. If i hear something i'll certainly do a shout out!

did you go direct or through one of the brokers?
they are magnificent, do you have a MP or are the antlers for someone else?

 

@Grimalkin There's so many sculpts and bodies from the same 5 companies I'd bankrupt myself by getting if possible, including Hathaway. Her body is so nice and unique in a still dressable way.
And as damn, I was expecting them to be delayed but I'm over 9 months now. Thanks anyway!
I ordered the antlers and a green Alan elf with k 11 body through Angelesque, but her communication has been spotty with other orders so I'm hesitant to try and get back in contact.

I'm HOPING that with a wig and maybe some padding, the antlers will go on Alan without hitting his ears too much, but if they don't I'm going to make a stand for them to sit on and just be pretty!

 

@devilsandswords Hmm not sure, they are designed to fit where the head cap normally sits, so maybe if you leave it on with the wig it might work if the stringing inside isn't too close to the opening edge. I think he will need assistance standing because of the weight. i love Alan's crown too though.

@honchodolls I hope your Fuya comes in soon for you! I really liked the skeleton parts of her. I could see doing some crazy photo shoots with her and the Tarot Sun/Moon bodies - fierce mer-people style...

 

Got an email back from DDE, they say my Charles head is there, they're just waiting on the second half of my order! :0

 

@Grimalkin He's going to be a lazy boy once he's all put together, so standing won't be much of an issue! The crown is beautiful too but those antlers are so good and I had to have them.

I emailed angelesque to ask about the wait, hoping i get an answer this week. I just found out a friend who ordered the antlers as well got hers into her dealer back in august but not the head so I'm a little more annoyed that I've heard nothing. I'd say it's because my boy is in green and the antlers yellow, but I've seen multiple green dolls go out already...

 

I ordered an Elizabeth (with blushing + faceup) back at the end of January via BJDivas, had her on a 5 month layaway if I remember right but she’s been paid off since May, still haven’t heard any news on her, I’ve been trying to be patient but finally caved and emailed BJDivas about my order, fingers crossed she’ll be home soon

 

I just got an email that my Alan has shipped! He'll arrive tomorrow after 9 months and I'm so excited!! I ordered some jointed hands for him but those will be another few months i'm just very happy about him finally coming home!

 

Got news that the two heads I ordered back in February (Snow Nymph and Evangeline) have made their way to BJDivas, but the body I ordered has yet to arrive. I'm excited for the heads, but kind of bummed the body is still MIA as it is for Evangeline and I'm thinking of selling my Snow Nymph head. But some news is definitely good news at this point!
