DLace really makes wonderful dolls. I like a lot the medusa boy!

And while I'm here, a little picture of my Ex Machina female:

 

Welp, apparently I've got a new grail doll to pine over. I'm a little late to the omgExMachinaMale! party but OMG 0___0. I need him. But I also need to NOT spend 1k+ on a single doll this year. -huge sigh- Hopefully he'll still be there when I've saved up enough on the side to make it somewhat possible. I love creepy and strange dolls, and he is PERFECT. I'd have to get his extra metal bits for proper completeness too. WHY IS HE SO PRETTY?

 

I'd definitely get him through BJDivas and likely on layaway, but still, that's a lot of money even with monthly payments right now. I wanna save at LEAST half first so I could do it a little less stressfully. Hours have sadly wound down quite a bit at work this month, soo we'll see how soon I get my last Dollshe layaway dealt with before I can start on the saving for that handsome handsome mechanical man.
I also really wish the half skeleton-y stand were a full doll. Cause I would LOVE that as a full doll. I may have to get the stand to steal the arms and head for a proper body at least.

Hello all! I've recently ordered the Medusa head! Not sure how long it'll take especially with shipping delays from pandemic Nice to see everyone's pictures here as it doesn't look like there's too many around on the internet...

I'd never heard of DLace before actually before I saw them on Dolly Planet's Taobao store but their stuff is really amazing! I fell for the Medusa right away ahaha. I'm kind of disappointed they don't have bodies for sale? Their bust stands are absolutely gorgeous, my faves are the Omega one and the Slim one. Someday I hope they make them into full bodies! For now hoping to hybrid my Medusa with one of my Switch bodies and see how it'll work out....

 

I absolutely adore the dude Ex Machina sculpt--the detail on the mechanical parts is incredible, and I'm such a sucker for robot body horror like this. Definitely found myself a new grail doll, I think.
How's the posability on these beauties? It looks pretty good in the company photos, but I prefer having some owner opinions to go off of, too.

It's such a good sculpt--I love how realistic they've gotten the paintwork on the metal, too, and I'm already out here trying to think of a concept I could shell with this dude. I'm glad to know they're really easy to pose, also! I actually somehow totally missed the lady Ex Machina until I hit up this thread, and I'm blown away by her, too. I super dig that both of them have the same weird robot stuff going on, and that they didn't pull any punches with the lady!

Oh man, I totally agree. The additional bits you can get for the lady are so cool! They're sculpted so well, and genuinely, I'm a bit tempted to try and pick up a girl for myself at some point.
I'm turning over some ideas for basically a kind of eldritch-powered automaton? Got a bit of a supernatural Victorian-era setting I've been turning over in my head, and the dolls I've got on the way are going to be characters for that. c: I think the Ex Machina sculpt would be super fun to fit to that kind of aesthetic, too!

 

Oh man, that sounds awesome! You can get a lot of really cool little foliage bits from miniature kits and the like. I love that kind of look too, so I totally get where you're coming from. If you're a bit torn on whether or not you want her to be all neat and tidy or overgrown, you could do something where maybe there's parts of her that are doing better than the more dilapidated ones? Sort of a contrast kind of thing. Either way, that's a hell of an idea, and I'd love to see what you do with her when you're done!

I'm seriously considering getting the Kyle skeleton head and torso. . . I'll just have to find a body to mod in with it maybe. . . . I have a fierce love of zombieish sculpts.

 

I've ignored looking at the ex-machina male for a while because I'm still simping over it but I decided I can reward myself with him if I get into the graduate school I want to go to (they give good stipends...) but those results will be a year-ish so..... Also I've been considering getting some of the new torso stands because I have 27 dolls and 1 on the way thus my space is filling up especially since most of the ~cool~ sculpts are 1/3... so it may be hybrid stand-o-clock......

 

Well, the process has been initiated... male ex machina 12 month layaway with bjdivas is a Go!

 

Is anybody else losing their minds over all the new parts the Machina Male is getting? That arm and that mechanism in a second head? I'm sold...I wonder if we can add them to existing orders, or if they can be bought seperately. I would love to see that arm without the skull on top if possible, I have a character that would look great with it!

 

I have a DLace boy, Kyle the half skeleton version, but he is a bust? He is 1/3 scale but he only goes down too the lower thighs. I call him El Novio Olvidado. I was working on painting him before I had a little disaster break out.
He is a ghost, and will be done up in a monochromatic scheme when done.

I love everything about this guy and will look into making it happen at the end of the year. I’m not a fan of the skull on the shoulder either but I’m sure I could easily mod it a bit to be more just a bio mech design and more to my liking.

Hello! Just an update..... I placed my order for the Medusa head on May 20 and got a shipping notification today! So fast what!

 

Yay!! Please spam us with photos when the head arrives. I’d love to see as I’m interested in this head also.

 

So, just received it last night! It was packed in 2 cardboard boxes and layered in bubblewrap, but not other packaging, except his little tongue came in a small resealable bag. 3 of the snakes broke off in shipping but they are separate pieces and were just super glued on anyway so I can easily fix. Also didn't come with CoA or anything.

It's really heavy like I expected, and resin is a little bit rough. Face plate comes off nicely, but little hard to get back on because of the rigged line of where the snakes end. I got in white resin. Overall I'm pretty happy! Can't wait to do faceup. I can post more photo when I have some time.

 

I've been trying not to plan more doll buying for this year. . . but apparently I've resigned myself to the fact that as soon as my other dolls are paid off, I will be orderng the Ex Machina Male. Mostly I now know this because he suddenly has a name; Caliban, and that is always the first step towards dooming myself to buy a doll.

Hello hello!! I don't have any photos (bc I took them on my phone) but my M. Medusa arrived! But she decided she was a F. Medusa and I'm just going with the flow hehe. She arrived just this month though, Sept. 2nd, so it took a couple more months longer then others, probably because of the PH's postal offices closing due to the pandemic. She's unexpectedly... delicate, for me at least. Like all those snakes!! Whew, I was very nervous about handling it, as was my 7 year old brother, who was watching a distance away haha. But nevertheless, she's goreous, and I've a few silly ideas for her. Imagine all her snakes on her head, but instead of fierce snakes, they're all just those dorky worms on a string ^^;; She's probably not going to be as silly as that, but the thought made me laugh but for now, she's cooling inside my closet, let's cross our fingers she gets a faceup in the near future ^^

 

Just got a notice from dollyplanet that they'll be shipping my ex machina boy out next month! So excited
Was kind of bummed that there was only white and regular skin choices available - I might do something outlandish with him and go metalic but I'll know better when I see him in person

 

@eichispee if you get the chance can you describe the head hole/adaptor? I would eventually like to buy the head but I can't tell what type of doll body would work for it and whether or not it takes an S hook based off the product photo...

 

I took some quick pics of the neck hole! Body with normal S hook should be ok! I'm not sure what size the neck is honestly it's smaller than 10cm though!

 

@eichispee thank you!! That's a relief it's a normal S hook since I'm more familiar with it, and it's good to know that it's smaller than 10 CM, since the website says 10.5 CM

 

Yeah! I think the head would fit better on a 60cm body or a taller slim one like doll chateau I tried it on one my Switch bodies which have 10.5cm neck and it didn't fit neck was waaay too big and the head looked really small and goofy!

 

@Lady Ravenswood Her outfit looks really cute, and her wig is gorgeous! I'm curious to see what she will look like when she will have her faceup.

 

So, I don't know if it matters to us overseas, but on their Weibo YuYu(Dlace) Says that the Ex machina's will have a lifetime warranty, so long as we ship the broken (or chipped blushing) Back to them!

They're also working on what appears to be two matching bust stands for the Ex Machina Male head, both of a burst open chest, one being robotic and the other being more human in appearance.

But yes! They post a lot of WIPs to their Weibo and I've been patiently peeking at it every few days to see how the Machinas are coming along...hopefully I have a bit more time before Divas sends me the dreaded email that they've arrived...

 

Does anyone have resin matches for the Medusa M. Head in white? I want to keep my eye out for bodies but I want to try and find resin matches before I jump the gun. (And any other white resin Dlace models, for that matter)

 

Has anyone else gotten an email about their Machina Males? Doing the math from the post Illyrimur made mine is probably going to be finished in January unless they're making them all in one huge batch. (Which Yuyu is known for doing)
I'm just waiting for the email from Divas so impatiently...Even though I've only paid them off partway.

 

When did you order him?

I ordered the Medusa head a few days ago because I had the fun money saved up. It'll probably be a while but it's still exciting.
