DIKA Doll discussion

I saw the FYI notice from a member in BJD News about the massive discontinuance of dolls and heads by Dikadoll. Better finally get my Mo Xia head(s) at least, from Alice's.

So I have a question - has anybody ordered a normal yellow anything in 2022? The color chart on the listings makes the yellow seem like it starts out pretty strong-toned. And those who ordered normal pink years ago - how long do the pink tones stay strong?

 

I didn't end up ordering X after all. Plans ended up changing (a few times actually) but all paths lead me back here, I ordered a DikaDoll Aiquing instead.

 

I was really wanting to get a Dika body for my luts doll. It seems Dika changed their resin colors a bit this year? I found this new chart. (or maybe you guys already knew this lol. I havent looked in a while.)



Does anyone have a newer dika they could compare to Luts real skin normal?

 

I don't have any luts dolls but I have a Dika Doll head in white resin I ordered in October 2022, if that helps you at all.

sure, i was just taking comparisons anyway so i took a quick one for you.
body: dika normal pink 2023
top headcap: luts real skin normal year unknown (i believe it's older than the 2017 one though i believe 2014-2016, but i acquired it in 2019 so it could be any time up to then really)
bottom headcap: luts real skin normal 2017

the luts is not quite a match imo but the dika pink might still mellow to a better match. the luts is more yellow and i don't think that's just the mellowing but that's just my opinion. the lighting isn't super accurate, i think the top cap is closer to what the difference between the bottom cap and the body is actually like IRL.

Randomly, has anyone else had an issue with older dikadolls being floppy? This is in reference to a doll that I bought secondhand in 2011 (here on DOA, actually!), so he may be somewhat older than that, if that helps.
The first time I restrung him it was my fault because I used an elastic that was too small. But now I used what should be the right size and he's still a bit floppy. Any tips or tricks to fix it, or just that I have to take him apart again and try tightening the string? Is there a specific way he should be strung that I'm not doing? I just doubled the elastic at the s-hook and one side of each went through each leg (so like an upside down v--the only restringing diagram I ever saw came with one of my volks dolls so that's what I've been doing...)

 

@konzenkoryuu - that sounds like how I string my dolls, too. Hmm.
I will say this - I own new dolls, and I've purchased older dolls secondhand (not Dikadoll, but Dreaming Doll, Resinsoul, Unoa Lusis, Dollmore, April Story, etc.). In my experience, the older dolls are a lot - um, smoother? if that makes sense. The resin is almost slippery. There's no grip, friction, or tooth. I haven't been a collector long enough to know if that's just what resin does over time, or if companies have changed what kind of resin they use, but the way I handle older dolls is with a couple mods: tight stringing, hot glue sueding, and wiring.
I recently discovered that garden wire or plant wire you can buy at the hardware store is perfect for wiring dolls. It's wrapped in plastic (not paper), so it doesn't stain the inside of the resin channel.
So you might want to try tightening up the string - but also, running some hot glue around the inside of the joints. It doesn't hurt the resin, and if you don't like it, you can rub it right back off (after it cools, of course).

 

I definitely think I'll try to tighten the string first, before going to sueding. The only experience I had with sueding so far was when I bought a different second hand doll with it--and the sueding actually made his posing worse!

Does anyone have both the normal and strong/mommy version of DK 75 bodies? I want to know if it’s possibly to use the ankle extensors from the strong body on the regular body.

Hi everyone, I hope you are well. I have a question for anyone who knows. Does DikaDoll offer color matching service? or do they have a default color similar to Soom normal? I have 2 heads in Soom normal color and I wanted to look for a 75cm body for them. Or If anyone knows of a company that sells a 75cm body (neck 13) that offers Soom Normal color, please let me know, thank you!

 

I know they offer color matching to Soom normal through their Taobao store. But, I imagine you could also get it through a dealer if you just asked.

Alice’s told me recently that Soom normal is one that DK can color match and don’t charge extra unless it’s for tans.

 

Yep, I was able to order my currently on layaway DZ Lucius in Soom peony white through Alice. DZ was offering that as an option on their TB shop, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, and she was able to.

 

Would anyone happen to know how often Alice's offers sales on Dikadoll? I wasn't paying attention to dates and didn't realize the most recent one ended already.

 

I think Dika does 2-3 sales a year, most of the time.

 

This is the Dika Doll "65" (more like 62.5) cm body (light tan) in an Iplehouse EID dress, and it's a perfect, spot-on fit. I'd say the measurements are nearly exactly the same.


I'd also love to see "Mom-Boy" body, if anyone has one. We've been, uh, giggling about him over here.

 

hi hi, How is Dika doll's company faceup quality generally? I've never ordered from them before so I'm curious if it matches the promo photos well

 

Does anyone have a Dika 70cm head that they could measure the forehead of for me? I ordered a wig for a doll I just put on layaway and the wigmaker needs the forehead measurements to continue, but I obviously don’t have the doll yet any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I've on acBJD a 46cm special boy body witch seems to be a down scale of the 75cm male body.
Does anyone have it in possession?

 

I ordered one in February but it hasn't shipped yet.

 

I'm very tempted... it would look great with an iplehouse JID head i have.

 

Does anybody own the Dika Doll Gerald sculpt? If so, do you have any pictures of him? I like his face but I’m curious to see how he looks outside the promotional photos.

 

Not sure if anyone needs it, but my DK 75cm DS-2 arrived home recently and I made a quick comparison with him and my other two 75s (YC76 and 2D75)

Les on Instagram: "Basic Comparison DK75 (sng ns) vs YC76 (lt tan) vs 2D75 (soom21ns) I was too lazy to remove the ankle height extenders from YC76 so he’s a little taller than default. DK75 and 2D75 were ordered in color matched tones for hybriding. YC76 was a serendipitous color match. Overall, DK75 is a bit beefier in appearance. This is not the juicy body, but that one would be even more buff Official measurements for his shoulders were 1cm wider than YC76 while everything else was more or less comparable iirc. While there is sharp muscle definition on 2D75, his hands and overall build are much slimmer than the other two. Also less veining. Still waiting on jointed hands to see if that will stay true. DK75 and YC76 both stand fairly straight backed while 2D75 appears to almost be hunched over a little. Overall, all are pretty easy to pose and solid on their feet but will still need stands. I’ve yet to pose them beyond the basics, but if there’s anything that you specifically want to see I’d be happy to help. Dika Doll's 2.0 68cm male body looks really nice - I've already gone over my doll budget of late, but I'm definitely keeping it in mind for a future project.

Anybody know what color Wumu are in these images? Wumu, 73cm Dika Doll - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections

And anybody who know if any of the lighter Dika Doll resin colors matches well with the normal pink skin Thelesthesia body that I have at home.

Hi there! I’m new here and finally getting into BJDs after eyeing them for a while. On the topic of Dikadoll…Has anyone gotten the new Dikadoll Chusan? I would like to get him from Alice collections or legend doll. I have an idea for a character, however I’d like to see more pictures of him from people if possible. Thank you

 

My 46cm Chusan head just returned from Angel Toast yesterday. I can try to get eyes in and take some pictures tomorrow if that would help.

Does anyone have the “less muscle 75cm 77cm” Dika body? Or any Dika bodies, are they any good. There on sale right now.

 

I have a 68 body.

 

As the title says I hybrid my dika doll head on a Ringdoll rgm-3 70 cm white skin is big but has a bit of a gap on body and fits perfectly.

 

My Dika-doll older WS head fits very well on the DF-H 68cm body. Color is only a little off.
