CP Delf Discussion Part 10

Jun 20, 2016

    1. @taixonay Congrats on getting a Soony! She's still my favorite sculpt to this day and the first one I ever got.

Here is my Soony, Inanna. She has 20mm eyes.

    2. Soony is so pretty! She’s another sculpt I’d love to add to the collection.

    3. Oh, such pretties! I love DES and Soony!

    4. Soony and DES are in my mind The Classic Delfs!

I am getting a ns DES in a trade at the end of the month if everything goes as planned. For now I have a red theme planned for her, but it might change when she's here.

    5. Oh wow, congratulations, @Uninu!

    6. Congrats @Uninu!! DES are beautiful!

I love your Soony @malvinas!! Shes one of my favorites!

Here's some more cute ladies, my lishe Feather.

    7. Guys, what do you think of the Delf girl bodies? Are they chubby?

    8. No, not chubby. I think they're beautifully proportioned. Very graceful, not blocky like some other BJD bodies tend to be. They're single jointed and tend to have kicky-leg syndrome but they're gorgeous bodies.

    9. @SacredMonsoon Thank you! Feather is lovely <3

@Demiurgo I agree with @Stormlight the delf girl body is beautifully sculpted and not at all chubby. It's to this day one of my favorite female bodies even with it's single jointedness.

    10. I feel like there's a spectrum of doll bodies. Very few ~60cm bodies are "chubby" the way a human might be chubby, with a large stomach or skin folds (though some artist ~45cm bodies are!). But there are a lot of doll bodies that are thin or very thin, and the CP Delf body is not on that end of the spectrum. To me, CP Delf looks natural, and the sculpting is beautiful! If you are looking for an even more curvaceous body, the Iplehouse nYID has a bigger butt than CP Delf and some pages back there's a hybrid with that body (sorry, I can't remember whose doll it was!).

    11. Thank you, @malvinas!

I too love the delf girl body, it's beautifully done and curvy but not overdone. I love the weight and shape of it. Even if single joints aren't as posable.

    12. Hi guys! I desperately need some help. If I were to buy a type 4 boys body for a type 2 head, does it work without modding? I've been trying to google for answers and I can't find anything. Thanks!

    13. Maybe "chubby" is not the right word: basically, I didn't want to buy a body similar to the dz nb56-001. It's not chubby, but I dunno a word to describe that body lol

I need something thinner (to replace a PW body) but not too thin. So, I was thinking about buying a delf multi-5 body or maybe a delf type 3, but I'm not too sure. Pictures on the website aren't helping, or maybe it's me...

    14. Technically yes, it will work - the Type 4 is pretty much the same body as the older Type 2-3s - however, the resin used to create the Type 4 is significantly different to original resin and the Type 2 has a neck hole styled to take the CP/Fairyland neck mechanism, which Luts' Type 4 will not have.

The biggest problem you will have will be the resin colour difference, as far as I know, they're nothing alike.

    15. Have to agree. Serious resin mismatch that blushing will not fix. Luts’s new resin holds a sort of translucent tone that the old resin didn’t have. It looks more like French resin than urethane. Very noticeable difference. You’d have to find a Fairyland F60 boy body to get a good resin match as they kept the old formula (and the neck mechanism) when CP split from Luts.

    16. A Feeple70 would also work if you could find one of those.

    17. Or an F65 body. They might be slightly easier to come by.

    18. That’s going to depend on which Peakswoods body you’re talking about. Their old single-jointed body is pretty comparable to the Delf girl bodies because they were made around the same time with the same aesthetic in mind, but the newer Lolita body is taller and lankier than the Delf body (it’s also vastly superior in terms of posability, so swapping to a Delf body would probably frustrate you).

Here’s a pic of @sephyelysian ’s If mod on the Delf girl body next to my Miyu who is on a Peakswoods lolita body. They’re both wearing baggy clothes here unfortunately so it’s hard to see the differences in how thin vs not they are, but you can see how much higher Miyu’s shoulders are than If’s.

That really only covers the Delf girl Type 3 however. If you want to know about the newer bodies you’d have better luck asking on the New Delf list because they actually have them. :XD: This is a list for people who hung onto their old CP Delfs, which are Type 1 and 2 (basically the same shape as Type 3 but in a different resin color from the olden days of dolls.)

That said, hey guys, I accidentally stumbled onto the Peakswoods Lolita body for hybriding and it’s a near perfet match with old Delfs! I kept meaning to get on here and say something, haha. (They’re not pink enough for new Fairyland dolls, but an older mellowed Delf or Feeple (like F70 vintage) looks fab on them.) :thumbup

    19. Thank you so much everyone. If the resin is that off, it won't be worth the purchase. I had forgotten that Luts changed the resin. Okay, I will look for the recommended feeple bodies. I knew finding a body for this head was going to be a challenge!

    20. @Amet I love them both so much! I also weirdly love that Portia's outfit makes her almost blend in with the background, haha. There is something really pleasing to me about that lol.

@Demiurgo the type 5 is definitely larger than the type 3. I did a comparison with the original type 1 delf girl body when my type 5 arrived and it's both taller and the legs are also thicker. The legs are so much thicker in fact that pants my Soony wears comfortably don't fit the type 5. It's really hard to tell in the picture but here ya go:

My Soony on the Delf type 1 (very close to the current type 3) is on the left, the type 5 is in the center, and my Custom House Choa on the Ai girl body is on the right.

@pepperonipizza the above pictures may actually help you as well since, while they are girls, you can see the difference between old delf resin (my soony was purchased in 2006) and more recent Luts delf resin (the Ann in the middle is from 2017). It is unfortunate that the color is so different because I also need a boy body for an old delf head so I feel your pain!

    21. Ooh i might get a lolita body for Fluke tbh, if its like the delf body!

    22. I have to jump in on this thread.
I love old Delf's so much.

I've had a few and now only have a couple. I sold quite alot of my old delf's and now regret it.
I had a long break from dolls and in that time luts did the whole discontinued thing and then when i came back i was like NOOO haha.

      I've had a D.Lishe, Chiwoo, IF and i currently have a Juri 06 and a Harang.

Dreaming of getting another harang, lu-wen, nanuri 07 and a shine. Probably wont happen! i regret not getting them back when i could.
I also need to get one of my boys a body, thinking Fdoll but not sure on what would match best. :sweat

    23. I have my Juri A on a normal (not pale normal) FDoll body and the match is nice.
Nanuri and Luwen pop up fairly frequently in the MP and I have seen a Harang or two, so do not give up!

    24. Thank you! thinking of ordering one soon, wanted to check before i actually bought one. I really like the look of it compared to the delf body.

Yes, i hope to find one :) i check every week.

    25. I can't wait to get my luwen a body! He's been a head for 8 years
      :sweat

    26. I know that feel! My juri 06 has been with me since late 09 and he still doesn't have his own body. I'm hoping this fdoll body will be his and that none of my other dolls steal it. Haha

    27. I'm getting an fdoll too! If i manage to get an El head they might share for awhile haha... oh the struggles of floating heads!

    28. [IMG]

Took a picture of my Kin the other day, thought i'd share :D Also yes, i think i might order the body soon!

    29. He's so cool!! I love his hoodie! Hopefully we'll both get bodies soon! Haha

    30. I need some advice please! My Soony arrived today. I restrung her with new elastic I got from the Volksusa store... and she can't stand up at all. Not even with shoes. She's on the type 2 Lishe body. Also, I'm not really understanding how Her headback is supposed to stay attached to her head? I tried to get the elastic through the loop in her headback but that hasn't been working so far.

    31. Well, the original Soony head is type 1, right? The proper method is to hook the S hook through the resin loop on her head cap to keep it on. It holds it in place but makes taking the cap off to change her eyes or something difficult.

An alternate method is to just use some kind of tape like electrical or painters tape to hold the head cap on.

    32. She didn't come with an S-hook, so I'm using an old Luts donut and ball to keep the elastic from falling through her neck hole. I'll try the tape, thank you!

    33. @taixonay yes as @Stormlight said the way Soony's head was designed was for the s-hook to hook into the loop on the headcap. I use eye putty to stick the headcap on mine because I got tired of fighting with getting the hook through the little loop so that could be another option for you as well.

    34. I took my Miyu out of her box for the first time in ages yesterday, and she's gone all floppy. Is it best to cut the excess of her current elastic to make her able to stand again or should I just replace it entirely?

    35. I have done both with floppy dolls. Shortening it will give it a bit more usable time, but eventually it will have to be replaced.

    36. What @Tonboko said ;) If there is no more stretch or spring back left, it needs to be replaced.

    37. I realized I haven't shared Eris in her new wig here yet so I hope no one minds me popping in to do so now!

I'm so in love with this girl :aheartbea

    38. Mind?! How silly! I love it when someone takes the time to post new photos :D @malvinas ! Eris is looking a bit bashful there?!

    39. I just found a Lishe!

    41. @Layn You did? You DID! You didn't????? Is she going to be yours? She's beautiful!

      Gorgeous as ever, @SacredMonsoon

    42. Congrats @Layn!

Lishe is wonderful. Here's one of my favorite pics of mine. I had just laid her on the couch and she flopped into just the right position for a photo.
