Hello all! After looking through this thread for a while and admiring everyone’s adorable Renards, I just took the plunge today and ordered one of my own.

I bought some clothes from both Alice’s Collections and rRabit for him, so hopefully they’ll fit. I understand he’s pretty big! But for now I endure the many months wait.

 

So I'm doing a split with a friend so I can get a Renard head! She wanted to order one of their bodies anyways, so I was able to pay the difference and get his head. Have no idea how long he'll take to arrive because we've both never ordered from Charmdoll before, but we ordered him through Alice's Collection. I wanted him in WS but she needed a NS body, so we got NS. I'm gonna try hybriding the head once it arrives.

Does anyone know the average wait time for Charmdoll?

 

Is anyone planning to order Aurora? I think I'm in love. I don't know what it is about dolls named Aurora; they're always my favorites.

 

Hi! Did your Renard head arrived yet? I’m very curious about it, because I have the same one (normal pink)... No idea what body will match him, it’s hard to find any information ;(

 

Yes, he arrived! We ordered their normal skin yellow, which I am actually pleased with. I have a WS Luts Kid Delf whose body he fits on perfectly, so I'm trying to buy an NS Luts Kid Delf male body to hybrid. I can post pics later of how that looks. I'm afraid it wouldn't match the resin on Charmdoll normal pink, however.

 

It would be great! Anyway, I was also worried about proportions, it’s important too. I would be glad to see your pics.

 

Here ya go! Color-wise it's completely off since this body is Luts WS and my head is Charmdoll NS-Yellow, but I have Luts NS as well and it matches the Charmdoll NS-Yellow pretty well. Proportion-wise, I think this hybrid looks great. I'm also looking into possibly making my Renard head into a centaur if I can get one of the Luts centaur bodies.

Hello all! My Caspian (Renard) just got back from having his face done before the holidays, and I am loving him! I'm still waiting for his permanent wig to come in, but wanted to share my boy!

 

Circe, 42cm Charm Doll Girl - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections What do you guys think of Circe? I think I like her. A little bit of a "Dreamworks face" vibe, maybe.

 

I'm obsessed with Circe ... been waiting for an MSD girl to absolutely fall in love with and I think she's the one! My wallet is going to cry a bit, but it's going to be a good year for my collection.

 

I love her! Do you know where I can find examples of the different resin colours?

... I finally did it! Pulled the trigger and ordered Circe this afternoon. Kept going back and forth about whether or not to order the fullset, but ended up just going for the nude doll w/ faceup, in normal yellow skin. I'm soooo excited!

 

Congratulations! Her fullset is adorable, but I’m excited to see what else people do with her. Post lots of pictures when she comes!

 

Haven't posted any pictures of my little prince lately, so here's Caspian looking lovely in pink.

 

Has anyone else gotten their Circe yet? I saw someone on Facebook having gotten theirs with the fullset and everything already so now I'm on the edge of my seat.

 

I actually have her fullset! She's really too precious. I was surprised how pale she was haha, but she's strung perfectly and is a dream to pose. I don't know if I'll post the unboxing, but here's a quick photo of Pippi!
(Note that she stole one of my guy's shoes - the fullset doesn't come with shoes sadly ;___; )

 

Oh my gosh she is so pretty! I'm even more excited to get mine. I think the wig and shoes I bought her with are holding her back from being shipped as they're from different brands.

 

Oh exciting! I hope she arrives soon ^^ I ordered her from Alice's in May and she arrived last week Let me know how the shoes go! Her feet are very slender (those are DC shoes) and I think regular MSD shoes might look too clunky compared to her small ankles.

 

Oh I ordered mine in July so she may take a bit longer....

i'm looking to create a hybrid between my fairyland ns head & a charmdoll body.

would any of you have any ns fairyland ( preferably 2018 or later ) to compare with either the normal pink or normal yellow resin?

I have been looking for almost a year now. My Charm Doll MSD Aurora did not come with heeled felt when I bought her, and I have consistently looked, but I can't seem to find feet with a joint that would match the shape of her leg. At the very least, I haven't been certain by looking at them. I also cannot find any MSD size heel feet specifically from Charm Doll. Maybe I'm simply overlooking?

I'm really hoping someone who, perhaps, has had a similar struggle, might know where to find some, or at least a fair alternative. Matching skin color is not necessarily the biggest issue; I'd simply like to find feet where the joints mesh correctly. Input would be incredibly helpful, since my gal has been barefoot far too long.

 

I'd love to see pictures of your Aurora! I've never seen owner pictures of her.

I have heard of people boiling a pair of feet to soften them and reshaping them enough to wear heels. Maybe you can make that work?

 

I could imagine that working, but I would be deathly afraid of trying something like that, especially with the only pair of feet I have for her. Maybe I'll buy a spare pair to experiment with? It would definitely have to be something I work up the nerve for. Thanks for the suggestion!

And she's more stunning in person! I was on the fence about the teeth showing, or that her sculpt wouldn't be mature enough, since I usually prefer SD face sculpts, and there's just a bit of difference there, usually, but I fell in love the second I opened the box! Her fullest is absolutely gorgeous. The gown is stunning, even with how much I've looked at it. And she had a great sort of maneuverability. I'd never looked in to Charm Doll before her but I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as I can figure out how to properly make photo posts here, I definitely have some to show

 

I understand your trepidation. You can probably hire a customizer to do that for you, though. I wouldn't think it would be terribly expensive, since it only takes a few minutes if you know what you're doing. If it were me, I would definitely get a second pair of feet to mod, just because then you'll have the option for flat feet if you want. I like options.

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone here knows if Charm Doll's current resin is translucent like Loongsoul's is? I read that they used to use the same resin, so I'm wondering if they still do.

 

Out of curiosity, does anyone have the new charm doll girl body (the one Circe came on), and a minifee head and can show any examples of proportions? I don't expect anyone to try the head on because that would be a lot of work (with either the neck mech or a resin neck donut), but I am curious about the possibilities of a hybrid

I can't confirm, but I know they're sister companies so I would assume it's the exact same.

 

I have a charmdoll Circe in white and am getting a loongsoul boy in yellow so I will post comparison of translucency when I get him, but my girl in white is pretty opaque as I can hold her hand up to the light and not see through the edges.

 

Hi! I got the time to take some photos, so hopefully, they'll help. It's a couple of photos, so I put them under a spoiler. The first one is a body comparison between the MNF moe, Charm doll body, and MNF a-line renewal. I then took individual photos of Circe, Sircca, and Sarang.

I included 2 MNFs because Sircca is a smaller head and Sarang is larger. They are a little yellowed with age, but you can get the gist of the resin match. Circe is in normal pink, so you might want to get a normal yellow body for a better match. Since the body doesn't have a neck mechanism, I assume the MNF heads would sit ~2-4 mm higher. Not enough to make a big difference.

Proportions-wise, I think Sircca is a better fit. Sarang looks a bit bobble-headed, and the slightly curved Charm doll shoulders seem even smaller compared to the MNF body. But I don't know what MNF sculpt you have ^^ Let me know if you'd like to see combos from others in my crew.

Oohh this is a great comparison! It's really nice to see the bodies side by side, too... and Circe has the cutest little ears! I figure I'll probably just color match the head, it's much easier that way lol, but it'll be a smaller head if I do the hybrid - I am thinking a minifee Lucywen - so Sircca helped a lot Thankyou again!

Loongsoul also offers urethane resin, it's just the other kind is the default. I have two Loongsoul bodies and they're both urethane. The Charmdoll pictures I've seen look like urethane resin.

 

I always really liked the look of Renard's sculpt and his floofy ears, but I didn't have any plan to purchase him as I didn't have a solid doll or character idea. However, when I saw him for a private sale as just the head and felt like it was fate! Most of my dolls have very exaggerated proportions, so I'm used to putting bigger heads on smaller bodies. With that in mind, I think I'm going to put him on a ResinSoul Winter body, as his floofy ears make me think of a shaggy deer or cow even. I hope to post pictures when I get his body!

 

I’ve just ordered Eric and I can’t wait for him to arrive. He will be my first Charm Doll and will fit in well with my boys (Akagi Doll Ban and Withdoll Kyle). 3 months is now going to feel like forever but I’ve never been patient.

My Circe came in last week, and I did her faceup today. Her winking eye was definitely a challenge, but I’m happy with how she turned out.

Hi there! Can anyone here confirm that Circe's head circumference is 16.4cm? It seems odd that it'd be so much smaller than other 1/4 Charm Dolls.

 

Yes it is 16.4cm. I have a charmdoll renard as well and his head is much bigger than hers.

This is my Charm Doll Rhea. As soon as she came her foot crumbled off. I think it was a defect in the resin. They said they will send me a new foot. I kept her useable by carefully tying a velvet pink ribbon around her leg elastic. I think she still looks kind of cute like that though. Do you like this wig with the hair over her eye? Do you know of more wigs that are made to go over one eye?

Thank you, but don't put yourself out. I don't have any immediate plans for a Charmdoll boy, just kind of vague and fuzzy ones. I have several girls and tinies ahead of them on the list. Besides, I can't decide between Eric, Domi or Halson, which, ironically, makes me less likely to buy any of them.

 

I just ordered a charm doll Eric (with faceup) on layaway, and my mom bought Dyami with the clothes and faceup~ I'd be happy to share pics when they come in, and answer questions ~

 

I’m waiting on fullset Dyami as well. I fell in love with his happy face! Charm Doll has such nice sculpts!

 

I'm very seriously considering Dyami, does anyone have a CD boy they can compare with other MSDs for me? I have Luts KDF, Unoa, MNF, Volks MSDs... Those kinds of heights!

 

As someone who prefers more cheerful looking sculpts, charm doll is really catching my eye. I'm also eyeballing Dyami for that super cute grin. I've had in the back of my mind an idea to make a Mister Mistoffelees doll (1998 Cats movie version) and wondering if Dyami might work for it
