I've seen the previews on instagram! I just wish their schedule for releasing beautiful limited dolls was a little more spread out or predictable. Has it been a new limited doll every six weeks or so? That's kind of a lot I can't keep up!

I just took a good look at the photos at the international site, I love the pointy ears. Too bad I propably can't buy her as I should sell something first in order to get her and don't see that happening. *sigh* She is such a cutie!

 

While the monthly order is still open, I wanted to remind everyone that Blue Fairy said they would be raising their prices starting in November. So if you're thinking of ordering... don't delay!

 

Does anyone know how often Bluefairy does the baked skin orders? I'm hunting for a May girl in baked at some point to replace a doll I sold, but right now I'm unemployed and I'd like to know how long I'd need to wait.

 

I believe the last two years the have added baked skins to their monthly ordering periods for summer. Every month they offer a few dolls for sale in your choice of body and skin tone, and in summer, they add baked skin. However, there is no guarantee that they will do it again next year, I'm afraid. Baked skin is sometimes an option for their limited dolls, too. Best of luck!

She's cute, but I'm really interested in the outfit! BF often makes very lovely Autumn outfits, so fingers crossed that it is available separately. It looks like there will also be a sleeping May set.

Blue Fairy's announced a new limited tiny fairy on their Instagram!! It's Tiny Fairy Alex, and it looks like you can order the Girl version or the Boy version.

 

She’s sorta like a Xiao and May mixed together? I like her!

 

Right? Very cute! Although the $600 price tag is a little breath-taking. It's a a shame they've segregated the order by gender, though... I want the girl body but the boy outfit! Finally, some long pants for Tiny Fairies!



And the sale pages are up on Blue Fairy! They won't be live until November 23, though.

 

Ahhh, I so wish they would sell outfits separately... I really love the boy set.

 

you could always open a split if you just wanted the outfits! im kind of tempted by alex, he would make a good shell for my character, uh, aleks
although i was originally planning him as a louis.... but i have a weakness for teeth.... although his lips are a little too red in the default face up for my taste, and the preorder period is so short, it’s be really difficult to get everything together so quickly...! bluefairy, why must you hurt me this waaaaaay aaauugh!!!!

Yeah, it's 7:40 am mountain standard time, and the Baked choice tiny Fairy is working for me. Weird!

 

Apparently BF is going to offer secret boxes?

Take note: "From 10 Dec, sub items for doll will stop selling temporarily and Secret Box will start to be on sale." I think they're saying that wigs/shoes/clothes/eyes will be unavailable for sale as long as the secret box event is live.

 

Weird. With so few outfits/wigs in stock, I wonder if they'll restock them, or if these will be Event-Exclusive items?? And will there be a limit to how many boxes an individual can buy??? (And how come the shiny/junior fairies for this month say 'Sold Out'???) Or are they just trying to clear out their wigs/outfits/shoes/eyes so they can stop selling them and just focus on the dolls???

 

Are there any comparison pictures for different skin color of basic, beauty white and snow white?
I'm thinking about getting a shiny fairy with Jr boy body in the future, is it going to be hard to find outfits that fit??

 

this is at the bottom of their baked choice page, and i think it's fairly accurate, tho i don't have any baked to compare it to, i do own at least one of each of the rest.

shiny fairy juniors fit yosd clothes pretty well, but it might be hard to find shoes for them! you'd have better luck asking in the shiny fairy thread. :P

 

I just noticed that in the body option, there's only "blossom", "full blossom", "dandy" and "gentle". What happened with the "girl" and "boy" options? Did they announce anything about them?

 

Uh oh, you're right! I ordered the limited doll Alex on a boy body, and they were even charging an extra $10 for that body. I hope they're not doing away with the boy/girl bodies... I think they're nice! And for some dresses, the blossom body is too busty to fit in them! The Be Classy dress from earlier this year? Can't close it in the back on my Blossom girls!

Edit to clarify: there has been no announcement, and the girl/boy bodies are no longer in the Option Parts section of the website. I hope they'll address this soon!

 

Hey everyone!! It’s been a long time since I posted last- my niky girk arrived but I’ve had hardly any time to take photos of her ;-;!!

I’m really curious about the mystery boxes

They seem like an alright deal for the price points but it seems lime BF Are looking to just sell off old stock. I doubt we’ll get any limited items, but it would be nice uAu!

On another note- i..I thought I was done but I now really ..really wanna somehow get my hands on a TF Tommy. Do you think there’s any chance BF may release him again for a special edition ;3;?

 

Since Tommy was one of their original sculpts, you'll probably do okay finding one on the secondhand market. There's one on Mandarake right now! And someone asked if Blue Fairy would be doing a Choice event where you could pick which head you wanted, and Blue Fairy said they have no plans to do so. But remember-- this is a slow-moving hobby, so if you wait and keep your eyes open, you'll probably get another chance at a Tommy.

Also the secret box event it up- and all the outfits/wigs ect have dissapeared from the site! Looks like BF is indeed just selling off all old products!

 

I’ve never heard of mandarake, is it easy to use? Is it like a Japanese amazon or eBay? I saw they had a button to make the site English so I could read it so that’s good.

 

I've never used it from their real site, only their eBay storefront. It is a little like eBay in that everything is preowned, but there's no bidding-- you just order. Unfortunately, not everything on their real site is available through eBay. The Mandarake splash page should have an option to switch to their English site. It seems like it should be easy enough to use as only other Asia-based website that ships overseas.

 

I use Mandarake all the time- I've snagged a few TFs from there for about $120-150 shipped. They usually need a deep cleaning, restringing, and a new faceup when they're that cheap, but at that price point, I'll put in the effort Note: This doesn't happen every day, obviously. Sometimes you'll go weeks with no new BF stuff.

The thing with Mandarake is that you get the best results when you search multiple ways. Try searching "bluefairy," "tinyfairy," "blue fairy," "tiny fairy" in English. But I find you get the best results when you search in Japanese. It should self-populate Japanese suggestions as you type in English.

It's all very easy to use once you choose an item for purchase, easier than Dollyteria. Also, compared to Dollyteria, Mandarake has BJD specialists on staff. I've had a few times where I ordered from Dollyteria, and the item wasn't the size it was advertised as Mandarake is a safer option for that, although you can snag some real jaw dropping deals from Dollyteria if you trust your own expertise in the items offered and you're willing to do your own "doll spa/doll rescue", or if you have dolls in all sizes and don't mind who gets the item too much. I once snagged a $300 shipped SDGr boy body from Dollyteria, but I had to give it two Oxyclean baths and scrub the entire body with dilute paint thinner to remove a botched blushing job from whoever sold it to Dollyteria. It came out almost as good as new, just a little yellowed, but I worked on it for about two hours with a mask on, I guess?

Basically there are deals to be had for the industrious!

I agree with @bronzephoenix . There are some deals to be had on Mandarake and Dollyteria (and it is cheaper to go through their own sites rather than through their Ebay), but for the really spectacular ones, you have to put in some labor. But I have picked up some older Bluefairy dolls this way and with a little work, they cleaned up very nicely. Volks dolls are easier to find there (as Mandarake and Dollyteria are both in Japan), but if you are patient, Bluefairy dolls do show up.

 

So I put in an order for the bluefairy secret box yesterday, and I got a shipping notice today oAo!!

Excite to see what I get- would you guys mind if I talked about it here? I won’t like photo spam but it might be cool for reference to see whats in the box? Or I could make a box opening thread for it?

 

I would be very excited to see what you get! Since I already have a lot of Blue Fairy's wigs and shoes and clothes, I'd love to know if there's new items in there, or if they really are just cleaning out their storeroom.

 

i wanna know if they're clearing their storeroom too... i wonder if they'd be making room for new things or just clearing out dud sellers, which i think is what leeke did the time they had a buy one get one event... though with some love i am fond of those wigs, even if i have no one they suit yet. x3

When Dollheart did a fukubukuro sale (same concept as mystery boxes) we made a trading thread in the marketplace to both show off our haul and offer unwanted items. That way we could trade sizes and match up set pieces that got split up. A thread like that could be fun for those of us planning to buy from this sale too.

I appreciate the advice and tips about Dollyteria and Mandarake too. I have browsed those sites but haven’t yet attempted a purchase.. your words are encouraging, however...

 

Ahh a trading thread sounds good!! I’ve been fretting over the possibility of getting that uh, blue dress they released- it’s the one modelled by he Louis girl, but I forgot the name of it! I’m sure they’ll be plenty of us who wanna sell or trade, so maybe that’s smn we can set up in the market place afterwards!

Is anyone else getting a secret box? Checking on the package, it’s due to come in next monday or tuesday for me !

 

Personally my theories are that they want to clearance these items out because:

1) The new / resculpted bodies have slightly different measurements so perhaps future clothing will be made from a modernized pattern that fits the new bodies better..?

2) They’re redoing the website and don’t want to move all the old listings over to the new format?

I don’t know which outfit you’re describing, NeonLanterns, but you sure have me curious!

Guess I expected that the images would stay up and that everything would temporarily be listed as sold out, but now the website doesn’t even show what’s possible to get in the mystery boxes. It’s too bad, I might have been more tempted to take chances and impulse-buy more if I could see the possibilities.

 

@NeonLanterns I ordered a secret box! I went for a $30 one because I'm a little iffy on what's going to be in there, but I figured it was worth a shot. Definitely willing to join a swap for any items I don't want or need.
