      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? No. I discovered after I got him that I just couldn't bond with him

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? Do you collect dolls as artwork or to play with?
I play with mine most every day, whether it be trying poses, changing or making clothes, props or even furniture. (I seriously have a chair issue :D )

    2. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
A little over 2 months! I joined near end of May.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
1 at home, 2 on the way! That’s more than enough for me for now.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I think it’s magical that they can pose on their own so well!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
When I’m lost and confused, it can give me answers.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I’ve just started getting into the hobby so I haven’t done anything besides buy pre-made stuff. My next big projects will be just finding a place to store doll things, restringing a doll for the first time, and doing good photoshoots!

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
They help bring some of my favorite characters to life, yesh. I bought the ones I did because they remind me of a few fav novel characters.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
So far I’ve only ordered 1/3 and the 70+cm boys, which I love fine. I prefer if they’re a bit bigger, because I’ve had my share of experience with smaller dolls already—-via Polly Pocket and nendoroids~

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Angell Studio Xi Shi and yep, still with me!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Uhhhh I’m not good with crafts but I like pairing them with potential props around the house or outdoors.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
      -
What’s been the best part of this hobby so far?

-Seeing and feeling and dressing up the most beautiful dolls I’ve ever seen. Collecting cute miniatures for their sake and building entire worlds and stories around them. They soothe me as much as they make me smile.

    3. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Since 2005, so that means 13 years this year.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Currently I have 19 dolls in various stages of completion. Honestly thought I was going to stop at 10, but let's see how this goes.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
They're so customizable and there's so much variety now. They're little pieces of art that make people happy.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
DoA has always been my go-to community for anything BJD related. I love the community and the marketplace.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I do a combination of both. Mostly, I get dolls that I like but there are a couple here and there that I have because they reminded me of OCs or existing characters that I love.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
My BJDs are important for themselves and lend some inspiration when my sewing ideas dry up.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
      SDs all the way!

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Dream of Doll Ryu is my first and my only MSD-sized boy. I still have him though he does not get as much love as he should.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I'm a really big fan of turn of the century 1800s/1900s style, so I keep trying to get or make things for my dolls that are reminiscent of that time period.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Honestly, I'm not that great at making questions, but what makes the hobby worth it to you?
      A. Just the sheer enjoyment of looking at my dolls, playing with them, or taking photos of them to share with my friends makes it all worth it to me.

    4. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      More than 11 years.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I can't answer this as the moment. I'm currently hosting my friend's collection as well while some of my own dolls are on tour without me … I think I have 25.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
That they are both art and toy.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The mix of different people and nationalities and the variety that comes from it.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Some of my dolls are character from a story or a comic I created, One is a non-OC, one is a doll of a real person and some just happened to create themselves.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
My writing came before the dolls, but since I own them, their story has evolved. Sometimes I draw my dolls as a practise. The dolls inspired me to design fashion and to get into photoraphy, and I've also bcome a faceup artist and sculptor.
I'm also quite open showing photos of my dolls to my non-doll customers or sending them greeting cards with photos of my dolls, and they quite enjoy it.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
60 cm. I sometimes wish it wasn't because I love to take my dolls out for photos, and they get very heavy after a while … But somehow this size appeals to me the most.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?

Souldoll Soulkids Sweeney boy. Yes, he is still with me!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I think it must be wigs. There are wonderful styles and colors. I love how soft they feel and that you can just pop them on and make your character look totally different. Custom wig materials are also fun to buy and wig making is not too hard once you get ta routine.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Is there a certain customizing style you always fall for? Maybe to the point that you'd love to make all of your dolls look like that?

not really good in thinking of a question. will you rather get a fullset doll that is limited and cost your thousands of dollars or just get parts like the heads that you want that is limited for thousands of dollar?

    6. Oh, I love this! Throwback! :^D

      1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Uhh wow 2 years! Cool!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? I have 3! Um, maybe four. Obitsu doesn't count. Also a floating head! I wish to have one more ie that head on a darn body hahaha. I'd probably go for about 4 more? A bit ridiculous, but I am pretty passionate about this hobby after all.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? The joints! Hahah. I love their size as well, and the potential realism. Plus how people engineer them, and the way they style them; clothes, face, etc. Its so cool.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? Lol! The joint! Even though that is part of DoA in a schrodinger'sy way. I'm also a big fan of the way that I can get new posts in my email (XD;) and also stay updated on a bunch of different projects that people are having even without following their blog. Kinda weird answer, but oh well :^D

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? Err definitely buying sculpts I like! Most of my dolls are blank atm so I don't know what kind of character they'll become. But I'm sure that beloved will be part of their identity. Cheeeeeesy.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? Kind of makes me think Ringdoll, don't those guys make their OCs into dolls? I like that idea, it's more my kind of thing! With someone else's masterpiece, its kind of hard for me to find a way to shoehorn (lack of a better word, no offense intended) it into also being mine. I'd prefer to be the sculptor for that kind of thing. I know some people like, shell their novel characters into bjds. That's awesome and I hope they love it. I don't think I can manage it yet though? That could change if I improve at customisation though!

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? 60cm's good! Honestly think I could go for some 1/2, might be a bit heavy though, especially on the wallet LOL. Maybe i should look into 70/80cm. Dolls being solid and smooth is super appealing.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? A cool secondhand guy from an extra cool DoA user! And yep, I still have him. I'm pretty hobby-young. He's a fantastic doll.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? The body? Yeah, the body. It's totally fascinating how many different times you can remix the same component of the human species. Damn that came out weird. But yeah, so many variables. It's super fun, especially when venturing away from "the ideal".

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? Do you prefer environmental resin or standard resin?
And standard for sure, unless it's some fancy artist cast. Even then I'd be on the fence. Enviro tends to be translucent and that just isn't my thing.

    7. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      Nearly nine years come November.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
70 full dolls, with 2 more on the way, and probably a few more after that ...:horror:

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
      How customizable they are.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The amount of info and history it has.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I've just been buying sculpts I like. I kinda miss when I'd constrain myself to making up characters first before buying dolls, because it gave me a semblance of control over spending money. But somewhere along the way I guess I said to hell with that notion and now I've got more dolls than I have space for...

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Years ago they were inspiration for writing fiction, until I started calling my collection The Unwritten Story, because I couldn't be bothered to write things down anymore :sweat
Since writing is no longer a creative outlet for me, sewing had kinda sorta taken its place, but even then I only sew based on a stupid rule I made for myself (and I make a lot of stupid rules for myself when it comes to my hobbies :/ )

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
      60cm-70cm :)

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
The first bjd I bought was Iplehouse EID Luna in 2009. I sold her several years back when I've started to be more definite in the aesthetics I liked and realized she no longer fit in.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like to buy wigs and I like to make period clothing for my dolls.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
What colour of wig do you like the least?
For me it's black. You can't keep it on for too long, otherwise it will stain and ruin faceups *_*

    8. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      Since 2009!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have six...ish. Well, six full dolls and one head incoming. :D I don't really know how many I want to have. I don't have a big wishlist, but you never know when another beauty will pop up and make you want to buy him/her... So really, I do not know. Maybe around ten? I don't want to have a huge collection, I think my limit is ten.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Variety! Aside from company full sets, there is no one BJD like the other. Everyone styles and paints them different, which I love. I also love how much you can do with them, the possibilities are endless. ♥ I love customizing, planning, sewing, knitting/crocheting, shopping for things, painting, modifying... I love all aspects about the hobby. Even restringing, even though it kills my hands. XD

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
I love how much info there is. Basically anything you have ever wanted to know about BJDs is here, and even if it isn't, you just have to ask and someone will have the answer. :)

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I get inspired by dolls to create characters, and then I buy that doll to shell it. However, sometimes the initial sculpt doesn't work out, and I need to reshell it. :'D So although I get inspired by the beautiful doll, eventually the character becomes more than the sculpt, my own OC.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Both! And it really depends on the person how you view it. But for me, it's both. They're important just as they are, but they are also a massive creative outlet for me.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
50-70cm. My absolute favourite size is Merry Doll Round 54cm. :D Such a perfect size to handle!

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Dollzone Hid, and no. I think I sold him the next year after buying him. He just wasn't for me! It took me a couple of years to really find my thing and style. :) Probably because I was still trying to figure myself out - I was 16 when I started in the hobby.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I love doing face ups the most. :D And I love buying eyes and wigs! And things for doll dioramas...

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Have you ever broken a doll? And the answer would be yes. I dented my first doll's nose not long after I got him. XD It was a windy day and he face-planted into asphalt. It was a sad day, but it also taught me a couple of lessons. No more windy day photo shoots, and the more important thing: no matter how big a mistake you make, there's always a way to fix it (in that case, it was sandpaper). ♥

    9. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Since Dec 15, 2004 so, uh, roughly 13.5 years.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have 7 Resins and one OT vinyl. There are MANY that I want, but I did tell myself that there was going to be a Serious Think if i ever reached teh double digits... didn't specify whether that was ALL dolls or resins and vinyls separate though...

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Customisation options. Once in a blue moon I think I might be getting tired of a doll, but then I play around a bit, try on a different wig, different clothes from their usual style and shazam, fun is had!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
Lots to look at, very little drama. This is my go-to place for information and user photos.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
A bit of everything tbh. I started out shelling OCs with 24cms Dollfies, then bought my Lahoo because I really liked him (in no small part because FFVII:AC came out at around the same time and damn, Yazoo XD), I tried to shell a Suigintou but that turned back on me and became an OC... Basically right now I have 3 shelled OCs, 4 "I want that head" dolls and one non-OC-turned-OC.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Almost all of the above! They're primarily here for themselves, but they're a tremendous help when it comes to sewing (tiny cosplay try outs), they are the reason I picked up photography and have appeared in several pieces of art. Last exhibition I took part in 6 out of 12 works featured dolls.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
      1/3.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
A Dream of Doll Lahoo, and yes, I still have him. I've been a lot more careful about where he goes since DoD went under though. :shudder

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
To make: clothes. To buy: shoes I guess?

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
      Most unusual/unexpected doll?
For me that would be my Glati. Minis are generally too small for me, I don't like child-like dolls and yet there he is. And I made him some little clothes and everything.

    10. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      I've been here for a little over a year. : 3

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Five at the moment, I'm waiting for my sixth and I am planning on buying at least two more dolls (this is getting out of hand).

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
They have a certain type of presence that I enjoy.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The lengths people will go to help you! They answer questions, try and find what you're looking for and help you any way they can. Also, this place is filled with information and I rely on DOA for doll news.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I'm shelling at least one OC (might shell a couple more in the future), but mostly I buy sculpts that I love.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Mostly they're important for themselves, but I do like giving them a new look and personality by changing their wigs and eyes etc. I like building them a character.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
Not sure yet, I mostly have MSDs and haven't even seen bigger dolls in person. I'm currently waiting for my first SD, so we'll see how I feel about the size when I get it. ^u^

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first doll was Dollmore's Dollpire Dead Mansion Tara. <3 I still have her and I love her (I can't believe it's only been about a year since I got her).

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like buying clothes (mostly dresses) and wigs and doing color coordinations with them. I can't really make... anything, so I stick to buying. X'D

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Would you be willing to wait for a year for a doll you really love?
Yes, yes I would. I might despair once or twice, but I would do it. As long as I knew it was going to take a long time in advance.

    11. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      I joined DoA in 2009.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Ahh, I have too many probably...but I love them too much. I have only ever sold one doll.
I still find new dolls that I love...as well as old flames that pop up so, I doubt I will ever really stop collecting.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Honestly, I love everything about them.
Their weight, the texture of their resin.
The way the light catches and paints their sculpting.
Posing them gently to look devastatingly human, and posing them with all of their awkward angles to look utterly doll-like.
Painting them to my tastes and learning new techniques to broaden my abilities to push them further toward my ideas.
Hunting for ages for just the right detail to make them come alive.
This is quite the perfect hobby for me.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The information. If I have a question I almost always can find at least a hint of an answer on here, from some point in time, to send me in the right direction.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
All of these. When I started the hobby I made original characters for all my dolls. But some of those were as simple as names, or just a few characteristics. As time passed, there were dolls that didn't really fit anywhere but I just loved them for themselves. Some dolls are my favorite to photograph just because their shapes are pleasing to me, but they really don't have a story they need to express. And recently, I've started making dolls to be characters from a fandom that I love. It has surprised me how enjoyable it is to work on them!

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
I have done at least a little bit of all of these things with my bjds...but I think the dolls are always the basis. Perhaps the thing I could say they have most inspired me to take up is photography.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
The 65-80cm range is the most magical for me. I love the heft and presence of dolls that size. They make a great canvas for my ideas.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first doll was an Iplehouse Silvia, and she is currently living in my doll case and looking fabulous.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
      Hats!
      Also, probably faceups.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Do you have a favorite feature in a doll? One that draws you consistently like a siren's song?

Hehe, I am a sucker for dreamy eyes, full lips, open mouths, white resin, and faun hooves.

    12. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Since 2007 so 11 years :)

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? 20 currently, though I might be re-homing a few. Things feel a bit crowded at 20 for me.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? The customization.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? The marketplace and the community.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? I have a few character dolls based on movies, anime etc, but most of the time I buy sculpts I like and build original characters when giving them their face-ups and styling them.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? I find them inspiring, but almost never use them as direct inspiration for my writing, art etc.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? SD

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? Emile, my Limhwa Mano was my first and yup! I still have him and love him. :)

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? I love weird graphic t-shirts! And accessories.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? What's an aspect of the hobby you some day hope to try but haven't yet? I've never tried making a wig before-it looks like it would be a lot of fun!

    13. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Since 2005, but I've lurked DoA, since 2003!? (After Y!Groups. I'm a creepy forum stalker!) DX

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have five complete dolls (and nine floating heads, eight without plans for a body one for potential body that will never be a reality, because I am cheap and lazy. I won't pay for custom-made one, but wont sculpt one either)

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
How customizable they are. That's the main reason I wanted to own one. I found repainting inexpensive fashion dolls super hard, so wanted to own something meant for customizing because I thought that would magically make it easy to do!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
Probably that it feels like a safe friendly to anyone place where anyone can come an learn something new, just about every day! I'm a weirdo, I love peace and knowledge, so DoA feels like a great place for me to come and learn something new, and just lurk when it's 2-4AM and I can't sleep (insomniac).

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
My dolls are based on OCs my best friend created when we were both in high school. She wrote pretty complex bg for all and even four books. She doesn't publish her artwork in public so only close friends of hers are lucky to get to see and read her work. I was really obsessed with one of her main characters and was set on using a SoulDoll Paris to shell him, so he was my first doll. He doesn't work well with the character and after getting a taller more realistic doll years later, I realized how wrong I was about the doll choice, but doll options weren't as broad back then.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?

Sewing and customizing only. I don't write and although I am a traditionally trained artist, I have never felt the need to do 2D fanart of anything -- not even my own dolls (I do have fan-art dolls, but no actual 2D fanart, I kind of dislike fanart that is the same media of the original source. Fanart drawings of anime, that's already 2D...no thank you. A fanart sculpture of a character that began as a pencil sketch, or is just virtual? Now you're talking!)

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
40cm mature fashion-esque, like it has the proportions of a real-human and looks like an adult and not a child-faced bobble-head with a ripped body.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My SoulDoll Paris I mentioned above, and yes, I still own him! He turned 12 on January of this year!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I loved buying eyes, shoes and wigs when I first started this hobby! I love glass-like things, because I am vegan so I never ate candy as a child, I have an obsession for things that kind of look like candy! I used to buy five or more pairs of eyes for my dolls up until I got my largest most realistic doll. There were no options for smaller irises back then, so I got customs for the first time around 2008-2009, with 5mm irises. I think I got "om..., what kind of eyes are those? They are so tiny?!" comments on my photos about every other comment. I feel like most people thought they were "gross," but it seems like there are a few more choices for iris sizes now. I don't purchase eyes or wigs anymore. I've given up on ever owning a pair of eyes that work well on any of my dolls -- custom ones are a pain in the gut, mostly only done in resin. I still prefer glass but I don't think it would work for the eyes I need, and I am not willing to pay an arm and a leg for something that wont work, or will eventually degrade (resin).

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Everyone before me has some pretty awesome ones, why ruin it...DX

    14. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      About 6 years now.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
5 On-Topic (Resin) dolls, 5 ABS-BJDs, and 2 Obitsus. I still have a wishlist for a Dollpamm doll and an Unoa Sist.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
They are easy to customize and make into your own design.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
A lot of very helpful information and guides all pooled into one place.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I'm shelling original characters for the most part. I have a couple dolls I purchased because I liked how it looked...it ended up expanding the universe my characters lived in. I'd like to think of that as a perk.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
BJDs are an inspiration for many different art mediums (writing is included). BJDs also inspire each other. What I mean by that is when BJDs were first made, they had single joints and limited poseablity. Now, there are dolls with double joints, dolls like Doll Chateau, with multiple joints to add character, style, etc. If the hobby hadn't become as popular as it is, we probably wouldn't have a lot of the sculpts we have now, or be celebrating this 14th anniversary.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
MSD. I own a lot more YO-SD, but don't let that fool you.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
A ResinSoul An... Ah. I liked the sculpt at first but quickly realized his big nose would not work. I modified the nose to be smaller and more pointed, but it still didn't work. I sold it to a friend who gave him a better home.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like buying pants apparently because all my dolls own like...1 shirt.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
It's a party, and there's cake. What is one of your doll's stances on cake?
I know for a fact Yue (RS PiXiu) would be all over it, no matter what kind, but if it was butterscotch, she'd devour all of it.

    15. This is fun! Thanks for the questionnaire!

      1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      Almost exactly two years.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I own three full dolls and three floating heads (plus extra hands). I'm waiting for three more full dolls and one body.
I expect to sell one-two of those I have, since one isn't right for a hybrid and the other is out of scale with the incoming dolls. Ideally, I would never want more than 8-10. I would prefer small groups that can interact together (so, a few SDs, MSDs, etc.). I think I'm the kind of person who will buy dolls and will enjoy getting to know the engineering of each sculpt but will ultimately have a very small collection.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Customization! And the fact that they can look so human. Plus, I've always loved miniatures and posable figures (the one and only doll I really loved as a child was a fairly posable Mulan Barbie-ish figure, and I made wigs and clothes for her myself so she could be different characters!), so bjds are a perfect blend of beauty and functionality for me.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
First, the kindness and generosity of all the other members, and second, the amazing wealth of knowledge that can be gained by studying the forums and asking questions.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
My dolls are somewhat impersonal at the moment. So far my strongest inspiration for styling dolls has been the work of favorite illustrators and film directors (Waterhouse, Trina Schart Hyman, Leo and Diane Dillon, Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurosawa). But my OCs are too vague for direct shelling at the moment.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
I hope they'll be inspiration for fiction and artwork at some point, and also an aid to my other sewing/embroidery projects, which are part of my business.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
Mature MSDs are very likely to be my true favorite as they aren't too large, but are large enough for detailed clothing, eyes, wigs, etc. I could have quite a few mature MSDs, but very few SDs since they are a bit too large for me and not easy to move around. Tinies are cute, but are too small for the highly detailed clothes, etc. I want to make.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
A Rosen Garden Hana (my only Tiny). I still have her! Poor thing doesn't have a faceup, a proper wig, or a name, but I don't think I'll ever sell her. She certainly doesn't take up much room!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I haven't had the change to make many things, and I try hard not to buy anything I can make myself, such as clothes. SHOES, however, are a weakness.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Name someone whose collection inspires you!
Personally, I really enjoy SightHoundLady's Youtube videos and Instagram posts - she is so sweet, and her dolls are gorgeous! She has a strong fairytale aesthetic that I find delightful.

What is your dream doll that doesn't exist (yet)?
A Mature MSD female with a specific face and body - there are many beautiful dolls out there, but not one that fits this character yet. However, I'm going to make her myself!

      Aesthetic or poseability?
Both? A doll who can't pose is too frustrating for me to deal with, although I can handle quirks in otherwise excellent designs. But if the doll isn't aesthetically appealing to me in the first place it doesn't matter how well it poses. I'm picky as all get out, so my wish list is small.

If you were to have someone offer to buy/customize you a doll with the only caveat being that it had to be for a fandom, which character and fandom would you pick?
Oh, fun question! Hard to narrow it down, so I would say: Jack Aubrey or Stephen Maturin from the Patrick O'Brian series; The Phantom/Erik, Raoul, and Christine (as depicted in the original novel); Ginko from Mushi-shi; Sapphire and Steel from the old television series; and Cyrano de Bergerac.

What is the most frustrating part of this hobby for you and why?
HYBRIDS - despite the intense research I did for a particular head-body combination, it doesn't appear as I hoped and that is disappointing and frustrating. Also, time-sensitive opportunities. I don't like to make decisions impulsively.

The doll you love the look of but can't see yourself ever buying?

There are so many, but chiefly several Doll Chateau sculpts (Dolores, Christine) and many male SDs (I just don't want a lot of dolls, and I enjoy making female clothing, etc. more). I also really like aspects of the Pasha Pasha dolls, but I'm not sure I could ever spend that amount of money if I don't love them 100%.

Do you collect dolls as artwork or to play with?
Artwork. My "play" is creating things for them. Also, my ultimate goal is to make my own dolls, so I have selectively bought dolls to use as models for scale.

Do you have a favorite feature in a doll? One that draws you consistently like a siren's song?
I notice hands at once. Beautiful hands really pull me in (ah, Dollshe!).

What's an aspect of the hobby you some day hope to try but haven't yet?
Eye making! I have some supplies, and look forward to trying it!

    16. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Since May 2016, so over two years. Man, the time sure flies.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? I have three full dolls and two heads. I hope to have no more than ten, though five would be ideal, I think.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? The possibilities! I can learn same many new things, customize them to my liking, build up my skills, all sorts of things!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? The community! It's fun, and nice!

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? A mix of OCs and buying sculpts I like. Usually a sculpt I like will jump out at me with a character pre-formed, but sometimes that character will then jump to another sculpt. And once I shelled a character loosely based on on from a story.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? Yes, lol.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? SD/SD+.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? An Migidoll Ell head, and I only bought him two years ago (feels shorter), so yeah, I still have him.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? Eyes. My dolls may want for everything else, but not for eyes.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? Does this really count as a meme? :huh?: No wait, what have been your favorite anniversary year? I want to hear about past ones! :D

    17. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
It'll be 4 years this October.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have 8 full dolls (plus one on the way) with a bunch of floating heads. I wish I had more, but more than that I wish I had the space and time to display them how I really want.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
      Hands down, the customization.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The information and the marketplace - so that's two favorite things!

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
All of the above! XD My collection is all over the place.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
      A bit of everything.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I've got a lot of different sizes, and I love them all. But I do lean towards my bigger BJDs (50cm+)

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first BJD was a RS Dai. I loved her but I hated that I could hardly get her to stand or even sit half the time. I restrung and sueded her multiple times in an attempt to solve the issues but it was never quite where I wanted her to be. I found myself interacting with my blank Obitsu far more because of it. I then sold her before I realized I could hybridize with vinyl and kinda regretted it ever since. BUT! Just recently I ordered a RS Dai head so I could have my ol' girl back and on vinyl!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I love searching for props that are in-scale. I'm constantly scanning thrift stores.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
This one has certainly been overdone many times but it's probably appropriate for this anniversary theme... How did you discover BJDs?

      I was listening to some Vocaloid songs on Youtube, wanting to listen to more I searched the internet. I came across Danny Choo's post with his customized DD Hatsune Miku (before Volks created an official one). I was intrigued and began researching as much as I could about Dollfie Dreams, and within the same night I discovered BJDs. Now I love both, though ironically I favor vinyl now. I suck at posing so I need that extra bit of help. XD;;

    18. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Almost 2 years now :) I joined after buying my very first bjd.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I currently own 4 bjds and 2 dollfie dream dolls. My wishlist is ongoing :sweat

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Making their clothes, I love to make new clothes that I can add to my etsy. It is so exciting to see other peoples dolls wear outfits that I created :D I also love taking pics of my dolls.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
Defenitely the marketplace. There are new listings every day and it is very exciting to discover brands and sculpts trough the marketplace.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I just buy dolls I like. Sometimes they get a background story when I feel inspired, but mostly not.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
For me they are my inspiration for sewing. I love creating outfits that match my dolls styles and personalities. And working on my etsy shop is really exciting (as I mentioned before).

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I must say sd. It used to be msd, till I bought my first dollfie dream. Since then I fell in love with the size and the vinyl.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
It was an Angel Fantasy Alice, bought from my best friend ^^ Yes I still have her and she will never be sold again, she is still our little baby.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I love to make japanese styled clothes. I am currently working on yukata sets and after that I will focus on cheonsam and lolita styled dresses.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Do you prefer resin or vinyl dolls and why? My own answer is vinyl. Resin stresses me out so much because yellowing is such a big issue, next to chips off the face-up/body parts. I am always so scared when I take my resin dolls out for a photoshoot and I don't have that feeling when I am out with my vinyls. On top of that they are way lighter to carry around. :chibi

    19. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
I've been a DoA member for exactly five months as of today!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Currently, I have six dolls in my possession, two floating heads, and two incoming full dolls...
My wishlist never seems to full stop growing, though! I have plans for at least seven more dolls after all of these...

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
The fact that there are so many ways to customize them (I love seeing all the different ways a single sculpt can look) and that (except for permanent mods) clothing, hair, eyes, and doll make up (face-ups, body blushing, etc) can be changed if something doesn't fit each person's aesthetic.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
There's so much information!!! I also enjoy having a place to create doll profiles (it helps me keep track of my various characters!)

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Currently, I've mainly been shelling my own ocs for an upcoming novel of mine. However, I do have one full doll that is a shell of a non-oc anime character, and then one of my floating heads is another non-oc game character...
I doubt I'll run out of ocs to shell, though! ^^"

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
      All of the above!!!!

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
That's a hard question to answer...I honestly don't know if I have a preference. I love all of my dolls.
I only have one 'SD' sized one, but I am planning four characters to go with him that will need to be the same size.
I have three 'MSD' sized ones, with another on the way, and then plans for two or three other characters of this size.
I have one 'YoSD' sized one, with another on the way.
I have one that I would call a 'tiny' just because he is LITTLE, even compared to my YOSD girl.
And then my two floating heads are 'SD' proportions...

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first doll was a Ringdoll Rebecca that I received mid-February. It's only been about six months, but I don't think I'd EVER get rid of her.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Hmm...I find I really like buying eyes. I met a fellow hobbyist who has since loaded me up with a collection all to their own :'D I'm still accumulating more by the week, though!
For making, I've found I really like to create their wigs myself, especially alpaca wigs :)

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Do you make doll profiles? If so, how soon after receiving your doll?
Yes, I make them. But only when I feel like they are completely their character at this point. (I need to update the two I've done, since those two changed so much!!!)

    20. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?

Since August 2007! 11 years! :aeyepop:

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?

Currently at 9 full dolls, 5 floating heads, and 1 head meant to stay on a bust stand more as a sculpture than a full bodied doll.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?

      Customizing them!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?

Just so much info! ((even if my Google Fu is a bit questionable sometimes.... oTL))

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?

I have OCs, pretty faces, and a few fanart dolls.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?

My dolls embody my characters and are whom I sew and craft for the most because I don't need to worry about whether it is comfortable. lol. I've done many mildly uncomfortable cosplays due to the nature of the outfit and it's like.... just make them wear these complicated historical outfits that make peeing take way longer...

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?

70cm. I love my big honking boys........

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?

My first doll is a Dollzone Megi. I don't do as much with him since my stylistic preferences have changed, but I don't think I'd ever sell him either since he means more to me than his shall I say "well-loved" and "has character" state would get.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?

I love buy eyeballs and I love making wigs.

    21. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Since December 2012

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? Way too many-I probably have more than 30 Pipos alone!

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? How customizable they are and how many varieties there are.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? All the knowledge that the members share and how nice everyone is.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? I do a little of everything. I buy sculpts I love, shell some of my long time OCs and try to shell favorites from books, movies etc.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? They are mostly inspiration for photography.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? Tinies-they are easier to store.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? Pipos Baha, and I would never part with her.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? It must be eyes and wigs- I have so many of them!

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? If you could have any creature made into a bjd, what would you choose? I would choose a Khajiit from the Elder Scrolls game series.

    22. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Almost 6 years.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? More than 20, less than 40.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? The ability to customize them and the range of motion.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? It's a forum of like minded folks and an invaluable resource of info.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? In the beginning I had original characters, then the slippery slope of "they're just pretty" happened....

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? Since I'm not working on any more characters, I just like collecting them outright and supporting artists.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? 62cm - 70cm

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? Blueblood Doll - Valentine. Yep, still have him.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? Accessories and undies. I like collecting everyday "human" things for my dolls that fit their personalities. I also like for all of my dolls to have underwear, socks etc.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? Why did you respond to this meme? Answer: I like reference material and catalogs.

    23. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
8 years. Someone I used to know gave me an invite when I first started to be interested in BJDs, but it took a pretty long time before I was in a position to buy one.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Um. Fifteen and a half, I think. I don't know how many I might end up with, there's a couple of others I've got my eye on...

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
It's kinda like having my own action figures of my characters, and it's nice when I'm writing to be able to look at the character I'm writing about. Plus they're great for indulging my usually-thwarted creative urges.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
It's such a massive reference site. Someone's always tried something first and shared their experiences and tips.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Original characters from all the stories I've written over the years.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
      All of the above?

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I like the reassuring weight of the 70cm dolls, and the fact they're much bigger to work with so faceups and sewing is a bit less fiddly. But I like the portability of my 40-50cm dolls too. They're much lighter and can share a desk without taking it over. (Until you have about four of them on the desk, then they take it over.)

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
It was an Iplehouse Chase, and I do still have him. Although he still really needs me to make clothes for him. Still.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like buying clothes for them, although I find making them stressful. I enjoyed making the last wig I tried — but the poor doll is still looking like Cousin It under a heap of hair because I haven't dared cut it yet.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Have you ever bought a doll or head that you were 100% convinced would be perfect for your character, only for it to arrive and you realise it looks nothing like them? (And have you ever, on receiving it, found that it looks like a totally different character of yours instead?)
I ordered a Kanadoll head I thought looked like a character, but when it arrived I realised that although it was handsome, it wasn't who I thought it was. Luckily, it was someone else entirely! He just needs a body now.

    24. Wow, that exact scenario happened to me. Only my problem was I was just putting off getting another sculpt. Now the Kanadoll has a nice new owner and I have the correct sculpt for the character.

    25. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Two years, although I've been stalking the forums for a lot longer before joining :'D

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
3 on topic dolls and one that is off-topic. If everything goes as planned, though, my complete collection in the future should count at least 7-8 dolls.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I love how beautiful they are and that you can customize them! Also, I love the variety of sculpts (something you couldn't quite get with regular mass production dolls :'D) and colors!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
Love how helpful the community is here, and also the amount of info you can find! I don't know a whole lot of bjd collectors in real life, so this forum has been a life saver for me in multiple occasions!

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Original characters. I'd love to shell some non-OCs and buy sculpts that I like, but alas, I don't have much space at home, so I'm sticking to the dolls I want the most in my collection.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Well, they're what got me into resin jewelry making! :'D It all started with me attempting to make my own bjd resin eyes and then I eventually found a bunch of tutorials about how to make jewelry and such and it was like discovering a whole new world *____* also, they're a nice way to practice with photography and I plan on using them for pose references for my art in the future!

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
SD. In part because most realistic dolls are made of that size, but also because it's easier to paint a face up on a bigger head and because they're super huggable <3 :)

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Souldoll Lester, and yep, I still have him! (So sad to see that he's getting discontinued soon :( )

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
      Buy: clothes
Make: face-ups? '_' I mean, they're the only thing I managed to do so far without failing miserably XD (and yes, I know that I mentioned resin eye making earlier, but although I definitely know how to make them now, the molds I have at the moment aren't the best, so the eyes I made at the moment aren't that good XD waiting for some new -hopefully better- molds to be shipped so I can start making things properly!)

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Do you prefer hand drawing your own tattoos on dolls or do you prefer using other methods (e.g. temporary tattoos, stencils and so on)? Answer: at first I was very scared of making my own tattoos on dolls and used temporary tattoos to get the design I needed, however I found out that the method doesn't last very long (half of my boy's tattoo has almost vanished after I put a shirt on him ;____; ), so now I prefer drawing my own tattoos, though I'm definitely still learning.

    26. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Since June of 2005. I used to participate more when I first joined, but these days I've got less free time so at times I have periods when I'm not active at all. But every once in a while I try to activate myself a bit and take part in discussions.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Just resin BJDs or all the dolls? If only resin BJDs, I've got 14 full dolls and 14 heads, if I counted them right (I swear I always forget someone). If the latter option... well, the number is a little bigger. :sweat

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
The customisation aspect, definitely. My very first doll was a fullset and my second doll I also ordered with a company face up, but after that I've ordered most of my resin dolls blank. Well, the exceptions being my Fairyland Pukisha Basilah Amir, I don't think you could even get him blank so I had to get the fullset? I did ditch the fullset wig and company face up shortly after I got the doll home, though. My Bambicrony Marion is the only doll of mine that still has the company face up because she was the perfect package as a fullset. But yeah, I really enjoy picking out wigs & eyes, planning the face up and coordinating outfits for the dolls. It's what keeps me interested in this hobby year after year. I also love the weight & poseability of BJDs, although in recent years it's grown increasingly difficult for me to find bodies that are capable of natural posing without being unnecessarily gimmicky (for example, old Souldoll Double line and Bimong's Classic Narin/Narae bodies have the kind of jointing that gets a thumbs up from me).

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
Discussions. I enjoy talking about dolls with other hobbyists and I also appreciate a good debate. DoA is also a good source of information on resin matches and the like. I tend to make a lot of hybrids so the different databases are very valuable. And of course, it's always lovely seeing photos of people's dolls too. :)

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
When I first joined the hobby, I picked out a doll that I liked and then came up with a character for it. It was definitely easier back then... nowadays I often come up with a character first and then struggle finding a suitable doll - for years in some cases, ahah. xD; Often when I find a face that I like, the body is all wrong and I need to go for a hybrid. Or then I find a body that's perfect, but no head to fit it. It's a constant struggle. :'D

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
I've got three different groups among my dolls that each have their own "main storyline". I keep dreaming that one day I'll write down the story of my "fantasy" and "mafia" crews, but I never get around to it. Well, maybe one of these years. ^^; My third crew is mostly human characters and their story I'm roleplaying with a friend. In terms of more hands-on inspiration, I do enjoy designing clothes for my dolls... making them doesn't always work out the way I plan, though, lol! However, most of the time I do have fun sewing for my dolls. I do enjoy the dolls just for themselves, too, as I like looking at them sitting pretty in their showcases. Generally I tend to like collecting pretty things and looking at them makes me happy. xD

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I've always liked my 40cm range dolls the best. Nice and compact without being too small. I struggle a lot with tiny (resin) dolls at the 30cm range, thus I only have one in that size. Tinies that are smaller than 20cm I find extremely cute, though. When it comes to bigger dolls, I like the 65~70cm range the best. So for me it's either really tiny, or really tall... or then exactly between those two options I guess, haha. :'D

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first BJD was Dream of Doll U (they didn't have anything else but the 40cm line back then, so I've never really gotten used to calling him DoC/Dream of Child). I still have his head (as well as the heads of Twing-key and Tender Too from my original DoD trio) and while I don't really do anything with him anymore, I can't bear to part with him. I guess I'm overly sentimental, but it would feel kinda wrong to sell him. xD I've got an upgraded shell (Narin N411) for the character that I created for U, and he gets a bit more camera time than his "teenager version". :'3 He still lacks a body of his own, poor boy, so he's stuck borrowing another doll's body for now.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I must buy shoes, wigs and eyes for my dolls as I don't have the needed skills for making those - and for now I'm too impatient to learn how to make them. I hope that someday I'd be able to make my own wigs and eyes, though. Shoes I'll probably never have the patience to learn to make, ahah. xD; But face ups and certain types of clothes I can make myself, at least. I do buy some clothes, though, if I'm too lazy to make them myself or if I see something that I just love as it is and want to have it. For example men's formal fitted suits are something that I'd never, ever have the patience to try making, so my Dollshe men wear Sadol. :'3

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
I don't know, I'm really bad at making up questions (because I start over-analysing things, ie worry whether a question is interesting/clever enough etc). xD; I like it more when I can just write down answers to ready made questions, ahah... But I guess if I'll just choose the first question that pops into my mind, it would be:
If you could bring back one of the past trends in dolls, what would it be? And my answer is: waist joints. As I said earlier, poseability is important to me and I want my dolls to pose as naturally as possible. I would be over the moon if companies went back from chest joints to waist joints, as waist joints allow dolls to pose more naturally. If people want a smooth waist for bikini/lingerie/etc shoots, then there could be a torso piece with no joint (much like how Volks has the unitorso for Dollfie Dreams). From what I've seen, 95% of the time chest joints aren't meant to be moved around at all (they're angular and create gaping holes when bent) so they might as well not be there in the first place. I apologise for the mini-rant, but this is something that I feel very passionate about so it's easy to get carried away, lol. xD

    27. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      since 2008

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I stopped counting after about 150

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I can live thru my dolls, they can wear what I cannot, they can look how I cannot (ok, this is just for my beautiful dolls, not the group of gore & dead dolls I own... those look like I will do some day anyway XD)
And I also love that I can be creative with them when I paint and customize them.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
All the information and news! I can find owner pictures and ask questions and can also help others.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
All of that. I own original characters, characters from games and anime, dolls I just like

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
For some of my dolls I have background stories, but I don't write fiction or stories of them. Some of them are just artworks for decoration, some are to help me to overcome some phobia (especially my Clown dolls!), all of them are for making me happy

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
SD and larger (even I have troubles when handling my Dollmore Trinities). But I love all sizes - my MSDs are great to carry around, taking out to meets, doing quick photo sessions

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Soom Mecha Angel Sabik! I still have and love him <3

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I love doing faceups for my dolls (but also love different faceups, so I also buy some dolls with company default).
One part I really love are eyes. I sometimes buy them just because they are beautiful. And when I look around in my cabinets, I think I also like to buy wigs... they are getting more and more!

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
How long was your longest waiting time for a doll?
Mine was 1 1/2 year for a Dollshe. (ordered a Saint, cancelled order after more than 1 year because I lost my nerves while waiting; ordered him again about half a month later together with a DS Rosen; they arrived about 3-4 months later)

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
14 resin BJDs and one ABS Hujoo kitten ^_^

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Customization! Taking a piece of beautiful art and making it your own. I love things like Sideshow collectibles but BJDs are on another level since each is unique.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The community, helpful and polite attitude and pro-artist stance.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
A combination of all of those XD The doll in my avatar is my character from Dragon Age: Inquisition, I've also customized a doll to be Ahsoka from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Most of my dolls are original characters even if I bought them by impulse because I like them I try to work them into the story but some of them are just on their own as "it was pretty/cute and I wanted it" lol

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Definitely sewing, I never would have learned to sew if it wasn't for BJDs and making clothes for them :O I also used to take a lot of photos back in the day but I don't anymore T_T

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
      70cm-ish

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Luts Yder bought from the official site in October 2005 and yes I still have him though he's no longer my style T_T I would sell him if he was worth anything :eusa_sile

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
      Wigs and shoes :3

I have two bjds, one Yosd and one MSD.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
They're very customizable, so each sculpt can look really different depending on how people style them!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The site has a lot of really good information about the companies and dolls, plus I've gotten a lot of good answers in regards to resin matches and doll hybrids.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Honestly I'm just buying sculpts I like, I haven't used any for OCs or anything like that yet.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Mainly sewing, the hobby is good practice for sewing clothes!

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
Not sure, I like both the YOSD and MSDs but I'm more used to the YOSD size since other types of dolls usually are around the same size.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Resinsoul Bei, and yep I still have her.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Clothes; one of my dolls fits Barbie clothes so she's easy to buy stuff for cheap.

    30. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Since about the end of July. 17 days, actually (ू˃̣̣̣̣̣̣︿˂̣̣̣̣̣̣ ू) im such a noob...

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? I don't own any dolls currently, but I wish to have a few. Definitely keeping the number under 10 though.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? They're so articulated and customizable! I just love the way they move and look, and they're all so different! I've always loved the look of unique dolls, and BJDs are about as unique as you can get!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? I've heard from other people on other sites that it can be a bit hostile, but I've only seen extremely positive people! It's very encouraging ᕦ(ˊᗜˋ* )ᕤ

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? I'm planning on shelling some OCs I have, but finding the perfect sculpt, especially in a lower price range, is really hard, especially without falling in love with another sculpt first ༼ つ ಥ ᗜ ಥ ༽つ[$5$]

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? To me, BJDs seem like a genre of art, and that includes making small clothing to creating aesthetics, to doing good faceups, to even sculpting. I've been an artist all my life and I think I mostly appreciate the artistry of them, and how customizable they are.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? From my research I think I like bjds around the 45 cm range? They aren't too big or too small to me.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? Hopefully that will be the Doll Leaves Steven I'm saving up for! I still have a lot to go though ༼つ☯﹏☯༽つ ~~~==ଘ[$$$]ଓ⁾⁾

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? I think I'd enjoy making clothes! So tiny...

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? What do you think of hyper realistic bjds and why? Personally I like a little bit of stylization and I find them creepy because they look like real people, and I feel like sometimes they have less character. Also they're usually super tall, which I dislike for some reason unbeknownst to me.

in the past I really loved to make accessories, dress, photo story, but I had some bad expiriences and I was tempted to leave and sell all of them, and for this reason I become less social and I losted part of this passion and patience to do something more with my dolls, but sometimes I really love to costumize them and take photos in more private sections

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
My BJDs are inspiration for artwork but overall just important for themselves.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
My favorite size is SD but this year I really learned the ease of taking YoSDs out for pictures so...I like the all!

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
The first BJD I bought was a VOLKS SDG Megu (2010 renewal version) and I am happy to say that she hasn't gone and isn't going anywhere!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
My favorite thing to buy my dolls is clothes!
My favorite thing to make for my dolls is room sets/props.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
What is the strangest place you have ever taken BJD pictures?

I took pictures in sakura trees this past spring. Yumeko held on surprisingly well!

    34. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
For a bit more than 2 years.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have four dolls and 4 floating heads.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
The customization, I like how much potential they have, the endless possibilities.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The community, people here are so nice, and the information available.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I'm mostly buying scupts I like, then creating character for them as I wait for them to arrive and while I play with them.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
      Both.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I have no preference so far. I like them all.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
A Blue Fairy Junior Andy, I still have her.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I enjoy buying eyes and wigs. I'm trying to learn to make clothes for them.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
I have no idea. I'll answer this one later.

    35. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      Since 2005 - so that's 13 years now

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have 22 dolls (and 1 on the way).

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Definitely the customization. BJDs never get boring because of the endless ways to customize and change the dolls look over and over again.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
All the information available here, you can more or less find answers to every BJD question you have + DOA has always felt like a warm and friendly place to me, people are nice and helpful to each other. The galleries are great too- oh, and the marketplace! Gotta love the marketplace! Over the years I've managed to find all of my hard-to-find grails thanks to the marketplace^^

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
      I just buy sculpts I like :3

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
My dolls inspire my artwork and I love sewing for them as well and taking photos.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I like all sizes really! But most of my dolls are SD sized.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Luts EL- I bought him in 2005. I lost him after a bad break up with my ex-boyfriend (ex simply never returned my belonging to me)

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like buying eyes for them...especially Eyeco/Masterpiece eyes. And I enjoy making them wigs.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
If you could only have one BJD, who would you choose?
My answer would be my first doll, the Luts EL.

    36. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
I actually have no idea, I had to check my profile lol It said I've been a member since May of 2013! Wow it's already been 5 years :o

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I currently have 3 dolls, 1 in lay away and 1 floating head. I counted about 10 dolls in total for my collection, hopefully the number wont go higher anymore. 4.5/10! Wish me luck!

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I love their faces and individuality. I spend hours and hours going through everything just to find the perfect sculpt for the character in mind. The latest BJD I bought was on impulse though, the head was perfect for my character but it was a limited sale and I couldn't pass up on the opportunity so I bit the bait lol.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The BJD database and the workshop! I love seeing how dolls are customized by different owners. I also love learning more crafting in the workshop.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I buy sculpts I like and then make the OC unless I already have one in mind. Once the sculpt is there, it's easier to bring live to them.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
All :D I write their stories, draw them, make their clothes. I actually started a business for their clothes (onesies / kigurumis for BJD: Midnight Marionette). They're also my best buddies to help me through the worst of times.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I would have to say it's SD and bigger sizes, YoSD is the next. I feel a bit awkward with the size in between.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first doll is a Souldoll Double Paolo. When I was new to the doll world, DOD and Souldoll were the first few companies I would lurk about and found Paolo back in 2012. He was then discontinued so I tried to move on to Crobidoll Nao but my friend told me she saw someone selling Paolo in the marketplace and that's where I bought him! The little babe is still with me today and I would never let him go.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like buying and making clothes for them the most. My sewing skills aren't enough to make the perfect clothes for them.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
If your doll came to life, would you be happy or scared?
I would be happy cuz I put all my love and effort into them and now they would be able to reciprocate (probably).

    37. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Since 2006, I think. So about 12 years.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I just got my 15th doll, and I really feel like that's the right number for me.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Like so many others have said, the customization. I love that two of the same sculpt can look totally different.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The members' willingness to help out and answer questions.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
A bit of Column A, a bit of Column B. ^^ I have some that are shells for original characters, and I have many that I got just because I loved their little faces, then made characters for them after they came home.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
Mostly, they're just important for themselves. I got them because I like looking at them - that they inspire me is a pleasant side effect.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
1/4 (MSD) size. I'm really glad that more mature minis are available these days.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first was a Dream of Doll Wi, and yes, I still have him. He's 12 years old and certainly looks his age, but I wouldn't get rid of him for anything. <3

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I guess my favorite thing to buy is clothes, but these days I've been rather dissatisfied with the lack of variety available...

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Have you learned any new skills purely for the sake of bjds? (for example: photography, sewing, iron casting)
Though I'm notoriously bad at anything crafty, I recently started learning how to knit, just so I can make sweaters for my dolls. ^^

    38. Oh wow! This really is super fun, I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone’s responses and extra questions. ^^

      1. How long have you been a member of DoA?

Since March 22, 2008! So, quite a while but really apart from some activity in 2009, I’ve only been super active as of February this year.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?

At the moment I have two, and I have two that are coming to me. I’m not sure how many I really ~wish to have. I’ve said 10 is my limit and then I started to really look around at all the dolls that I would really love to have and it’s way over 10... lmao.

I’m certainly contemplating more and my taste seems to be ever changing/evolving. I think it’s that collector mentality coming out in me!

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?

I dont have one set favourite thing about bjds, I have a lot of favs about these dolls.

Honestly, just how aesthetically pleasing they are and I’m sure this is getting to be an old hat, but also definitely how heavily customizable they are is a huge plus for me. I’m not particularly talented with face ups so I absolutely love to see how artists interpret my (very jumbled) ideas! I also super love brushing and styling wigs and just generally love playing ~ dress up. Clothes and clothing options are a big deal in my world. xD

I find every aspect of styling bjds super relaxing.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?

Legit how easy breazy everything is. I have never had a bad interaction here, not saying that doesn’t happen because it happens across the social media board as a whole, just for me I’ve had all around positive experiences. Since before I joined all those years ago I heard how hard it is to ‘fit in’ on DoA but, seriously never experienced that.

Basically, I love the drama free nature of the site and how extensive the information I can find in the forums and wiki is.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?

To be honest, I started out shelling OCs and was super excited to shell every role play character I had... unfortunately a lot happened in 10 years and I’m not sure if that’s something that totally fits my collection.

I still want to shell characters that exist in a role play world a friend and I created HOWEVER, I no longer think they’re the same characters I initially had in mind. I’ve changed and so have my tastes in literature and well, I’ve changed as a whole person in general! I think going forward, I’m snatching up sculpts I love and then assigning them a character, rather than having a set character in mind first, you know?

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?

A little bit of writing, but as far as this question is concerned I would say something else.

While I certainly do enjoy jotting down quick stats of my dolls and making notes on their backstories, I just really like the dolls. I love just having something I enjoy in my house just sitting around. LOL Bjds for me have totally become something I can just unwind with at the end of a stressful workday. I can either just pose them, dress them, or work on their personalities/stories and totally be content.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjds?

I really love SD size and I’m leaning toward the larger side of SD. I quite enjoy the 70cm range and a ~ beefier body. I just recently discovered I have a thing for thicker guys. LOL

I think I could be open to owning MSDs because I have seen a lot just adorable sculpts. I do think that I would be more willing to get smaller dolls for children characters. I’m not sure why because all of the fashion size dolls I’ve seen are really stunning, but an adult looking sculpt in that size just seems like for my collection it wouldn't be cohesive.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?

My first bjd was a Hound I got secondhand right from a DoA user. I still have him and I’m never letting him go. Not only does he have sentimental value but, I still absolutely adore him! <3

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?

      Wigs, wigs, wigs.

I can’t even begin to describe how much I love to buy wigs. I just love them and spend an embarrassing amount of time looking through all the sites for various styles/colours and just wigs!!!

I would totally love to make my dolls their own wigs someday and have seriously contemplated attempting some brushed yarn wigs I saw a tutorial for!

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?

If you could shell a specific fictional character (from any medium) and have the perfect wig, outfit, etc, what character would you choose and why?

I thought of a bazillion book characters from Stephen King novels I’m obsessed with, but majority of them don’t have any iconic looks that make them them. I think I would definitely go with a video game character and I can narrow it down to two.

I would either shell Haar from Fire Emblem or Kratos from Tales of Symphonia. Both of them for similar reasons tbh. Both were characters I fell in love with while I was playing a lot of Gamecube in college. Not the best reason but, hey I remember a lot of good times playing those games!

    39. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      6 months apparently!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Currently have 1 on-topic doll, waiting on two more to be shipped! Then I have 3 off-topic, and a 4th due to be delivered tomorrow (a Fingertip Dreamland Hemera-Maru - Im so excited!)

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Probably all the beautiful customisation people can do on them - you can take two identical basic dolls, and they can turn out t be completely different!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
I have managed to make new friends, and have found local bjd buddies to meet with.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
The immortal question - what came first? the doll or the character? XD For me, so far it has been just buying really pretty sculpts I fall in love with :D I really struggle coming up with characters though XD

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
All obviously! For me, I like them almost as art pieces that you can forge a part of yourself, and they're a great outlet for creativity ^_^

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
Not really sure XD So far I seem to be acquiring smaller ones like YoSD, but I am getting a couple larger ones in the future... So i may get back to you on that one XD

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
TECHNICALLY an Aileendoll Plapico Violet, but I know that's OT so XD First doll I started paying for was a Villitunes Lamoon, but the first one I actually got in person was my DZ Little Snow (I bought her midway through my Villitunes layaway XD).

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I seem to hoard doll eyes? :XD: I love pretty eyes and god-forbid they are in the same size as any of my dolls XD I may currently only have a couple of dolls, but I probably have enough for at least 10 more dolls :mwahaha

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Uhhh how were you first introduced to bjds?
Me? Honestly I can't even remember XD I think I saw them on someone's tumblr and was intrigued....

    40. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Since somewhere around the middle of last December

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Currently I have 1 full doll and one floating head (and 2 off topic dolls that still fall under the bjd category as well)
      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I just really like dolls and I have since I was a child, this gives me a way to enjoy that while also getting to be creative.
      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
The fact that it exists at all honestly. I never would've thought I'd be able to join a site like this.
      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I'm doing something else, I'll let you know what when I figure it out myself lol
      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
They do inspire me to sew and stuff but I just like them as they are too.
      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
Msd, they're not too big and not too small.
      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My Island Doll Ivy, I've had her a few months now.
      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I love wigmaking but I hate making the wefts for it
      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
I've never been any good at thinking of questions lol

    41. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? 5 and a half years

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? Currently there are 19 and two floating heads, with number 20 due to arrive in the next few weeks. I'd like to have 30-35 total.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? How customizable they are. Changing their eyes, wigs, clothes, and face-ups can drastically change the character they portray.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? Being able to talk to other people about bjds, and share my dolls with others.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? I have a few dolls who are fan (anime) character based, but mainly I buy dolls I like that will fit with my group.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? I love mine as they are, posable pieces of artwork and craftsmanship. I also write fiction about them, make them clothes, and find or make props for them.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? Mature tinies! Their big enough not to be a complete pain to sew for, and easy to find props for and carry around.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? A tan Soom Mini Gem Uyoo, and I still have her.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? I like looking for props for them, and I like making them clothes.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)? What's the hardest thing to make or buy for your bjds? Shoes, since its so hard to tell from measurements if they'll actually fit.

    42. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
One month shy of 8 years ^_^ (that was before I got my first doll!)
      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Currently they`re split... I have 9 dolls with me, and 6 are currently at a friend`s house in another country :P So 15 total :sweat6I have no idea how many I want... they keep coming whether or not I plan them!
      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Hmm.. probably that they can be characters personified. The poseability on most is also pretty good!
      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
I like the forums, and photostories, but at the moment, that I can trust the marketplace for the most part. DOA mods are good at culling out those trying to sell non-legit items, so I feel I can trust the marketplace...and we really do need a trustworthy second-hand market!!
      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Original characters. I have just bought sculpts I liked, and then they became original characters, all worked into the same story. ^^
      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
They have their own story...and they are important because they are themselves.
      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I would say msd size...but 6 SD size vs 4 msd size say otherwise :XD:
      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first doll was a Volks YoSD Lillie! I named her Rhiannon. I bought her February 15, 2011, and I still have her. ^_^ Even though I`ve discovered that little dolls aren`t completely my thing, I don`t think she`ll ever leave.
      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Accessories. I love accessories. I have way too many...it`s always so tempting to have them `just in case` but really, how often do I use them? Not enough to justify having as many as I do!
      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Hmm... a good question... ah. "If you didn`t have to worry about recasts, would you buy more secondhand dolls or new ones?"
And my answer is... depends on the doll. My current gang is almost evenly split...8 I bought second hand, and 7 were bought new. Definitely if I wasn`t worried about recasts I`d browse around a bit more though.

    43. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
      Um...*checks card*... 9 years!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Six. I wish I had one. It's a futile wish.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
They can wear all the things I don't have the guts to.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
      It's active and lively.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I see sculpts, fall in love, think about them for about a year and eventually buy them.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
I juat love them for what they are. I'd love to say they were an inspiration for the number of things listed here, but whenever I've had the inkling of inspiration for anything, I've never quite had the time or resources.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
1/3, though I have more 1/4 dolls, probably just because they're easier to give into and justify having.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Dream of Doll Shall 2nd-hand. Yes I still have her. I see her as the most important doll I have, because I spent years wanting a BJD and she was the specific one I fell in love with (not knowing about BJDs at all before I saw her) and wanted.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Hmm I think eyes. There's an unreasonable amount of gorgeous eyes out there that I want but don't need.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Are there any imperfections on your dolls that contribute to their identity?

Shall came to me with two broken fingers on one hand but the previous owner did a fine job on repairing them so the join is perfectly smooth and you can only see the crack, not feel it. It doesn't add to any character story or anything because I don't do those. I just feel like it's a part of this particular doll. I'd love her with or without the imperfection, and she just happens to have it, and so it's just a part of her and doesn't make her any less of the perfect doll she is.

      OMFG, since 2007. It's been 11 years!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Ahahahaha. I want all the dolls. I have 5 MSD's, a floating head, and a 1/8th girl on the way. (I also have a small collection of Monster High dolls to customize and play with, a Volks 1/6th non-ball jointed girl, and have kept almost all my old Card Captor Sakura dolls.) Literally, I just want all the dolls, on and off topic, resin and vinyl.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Both the size (I actually really want a 1/3rd doll), and the level of customizability, the wigs, the eyes, the face-ups, choosing your headsculpt and body.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
Either the individual discussion threads (like mnf and unoa sist/lusis) or the photogalleries- I love getting to see everyone's dolls, to see new ones, to see different ways of expressing with the same sculpt, to see sculpts I'd written off as absolutely breathtaking. ...I also loved the marketplace in the past (my bank account did not) and as a returning member can't wait to get access to it again.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
For the most part, I've bought sculpts I like and then made characters around them (almost all of which had drastic personality changes from the time I bought them so many years ago to now). I'm debating reshelling one. I also have an OC that I love that I'm debating trying to shell (she is bald, has no eyebrows, and is tattooed and awesome. Also hard to find a sculpt for.)

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
They're important for themselves, and an inspiration for creativity, both with my own dolls, and with other off topic dolls, and sewing, and a bit of art. I really love their aestetic and have been wanting to get or make ball jointed tights and the like too and have seen two different models now with balljoint tattoos and I'm in love. Overall, they're mostly important for themselves, but just bring inspiration and joy to my life overall.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
1/4th. When I first started I had this thought I'd only get 1/3rd scale dolls, that they were real dolls and somehow the smaller ones were lesser. This thought didn't last long, and I just kept getting hooked on 1/4th dolls and needing new sculpts I fell in love with. I have my first 1/8th scale doll on the way and swear one day I'll eventually own a 1/3rd sized doll (...possibly once I finish collecting 1/4th sculpts that I love).

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
The first BJD I bought was a DZ Shoyo on their original girl body. I still have her. (I'm not certain about how they are now, but her headcap is kind of clunky, the edges are slightly wider than her head, and the S hook literally hooks to the headcap itself. I've been looking at the newer DZ bodies and heads and I hope they discovered the magic of not connecting the S hook to the headcap, and smoothing the face to headcap transition, though admittedly the small ridge is great for helping to hold wigs). I still have her. She's the girl I'm considering reshelling, or maybe just getting a newer body with double joints for and sanding her nose a wee bit. (IF I reshell her, it'd be to a DZ Hal. If I just rebody her, it'd be to either the Moe body or "normal" double jointed girl body.)

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
My favorite thing to buy is clothes, followed by wigs. Same for making, lol. I do my own faceups, and I struggle with eyebrows and lashes, and I'm debating starting to commission face-ups (but also, those dollars could become another doll if I save them and do my own... but also, eyebrows, man, eyebrows.)

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
AHAHAHAHAHAHA I have no clue. My answer would probably be long though because I'm so wordy...

      1. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? I think it was 2007

        2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? Oh dear, so many now! I started with tinies, then mini, now, only this past year, I've become a glutton for SD+ size and realism though the realistic mini FID dolls from Iplehouse are awesome

        3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? The expressions you can get with body language. dressing them up the way I can't dress myself.

        4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? Definitely the people! Connecting with people that have similar interests and are so accepting of other people's ideas. It's awesome!

        5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? I just buy sculpts I like, which quickly gets out of hand!

        6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? Nope, I'm not that creative. I like them for their beauty and have dreams of doing a comic or making outfits but I never seem to find the time :(

        7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? All of them.

        8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? I ordered an Elfdoll tiny Ariel but then ordered Tinybear's BonBon, and Bon Bon arrived first, then Ariel. I still have both, as well as others from both makers :)

        9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? Clothes but it's also often frustrating because you often have to guess if it will fit your doll!

        10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
What are you favorite types of eyes and why?
Low dome small iris because they don't pop away from the eye socket due to high dome, and they can be positioned in more directions. The smaller iris is so I can fill the eye socket and have a realistic eye white to iris ratio, as I like the look of adult dolls. Funny, I love children so much in reality, but I like adult dolls :D Maybe because they are surrogates to my wish that I could be young, pretty and where cool clothes :D

    45. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA? Since Nov. 2008--almost to the 10 year mark! That might call for some celebration... :sneaky

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)? 1 full doll and a head. Currently clearing out the rest and hoping to get a new girl soon.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds? Everything, but if forced to choose, it would be their ability to be 3D poseable characters.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA? All the useful information and the ability to interact with many people who are in the same hobby. Love browsing through the Project Journals, Discussions, and Marketplace.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else? Mostly shelling OCs, but otherwise buying dolls that call to me for whatever reason.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)? They are somewhat standalone, but also inspire general world/character building and overall craftiness.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd? Anything from 26 to 64 cm. It is actually difficult to be more specific than that...

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it? Angel of Dream Yu Luo and nope.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds? Buy = clothes or props & Make = diorama or fur wigs

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
What's one weird fact about your hobby journey?
I've owned the Lishe sculpt four times and in three different sizes. :sweat

    46. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
A little over three years now.

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have two but am planning on at least three to four more already. I don't know if I could do more than ten though. *_*

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
Two things really: 1. Every single one is different - story, looks, you name it; they're all different. 2. They also give me a hobby that involves other hobbies, allowing me to learn and grow.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
To be honest, it's just looking at other peoples bjds.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
At this time I'm just buying sculpts I like, but as I buy the dolls they are telling me info about themselves which then creates a story and more characters which I will eventually have to shell and taking me over into the shelling OCs category as well.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
A little on the sewing end, a little for the writing aspect, maybe eventually business and definitely they get my craftiness flowing. But mainly they're just important for themselves.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
It's hard to say at this point as I only have two, one slim msd and one 70cm. I like both of them for different reasons - the msd is easier to carry but I also like it when my dolls get noticed and the 70cm gets noticed more.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first was a Resinsoul Mei. Yes, she's the slim mini I mentioned above.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Hmmm, I think I like buying props for my dolls but I don't have a lot of money so mainly I just look. Making - I think so far it's furniture. I've come up with easy ideas that don't call for too many tools that I don't have and it's kind of fun, if occasionally irritating, to try and merge two styles together.

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?

Is there one particular influence that got you to start collecting bjds? If so, who/what was it?

Yes, I have two friends with the same sculpt and both were beautiful and I felt I just needed one of those dolls in my life.

    47. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
According to my profile, since May 9th of 2012! Has it been that long already?!

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I only have one right now, but I think a good number would be 3 or 4! If I were to shell all the main characters from the novel I'm writing, I would have 4 BJDs. That's kind of the dream!

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
What ISN'T my favorite thing about BJDs? There's so much to love! I suppose the most wonderful of them all is the variety and customizability.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
DoA was the very first place I went to find a BJD community and learn more about the many aspects of the hobby. I think that DoA is so helpful for beginners, but also even for people who've been around a while! There are so many great resources here. I really enjoy certain features, like doll profiles, the news section, the workshop, and the marketplace!

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Shelling OCs! When I first began the hobby, I only picked out dolls that I liked the aesthetic of. As time has passed, I've been working hard to shell my 4 main OCs. One down, three to go! It can be pretty hard to find sculpts that are just right.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
I think BJDs in and of themselves are art, and can stand alone. However, for me personally they inspire me in writing, photography, and other art mediums. One day, I would like to get into making dioramas and props for them! I've made a few before and that was really cool.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
MSD! Although I've never owned an SD, I have a feeling they might be too big.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first BJD was a Fairyland Littlefee Bonnie! I don't have her anymore, but she was an excellent introduction to the hobby! Sometimes I think about getting another one some day.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I think clothes are really fun to shop for. My doll is better dressed than I am most days! LOL!

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
Hmm. Maybe, what's the scariest thing that's ever happened with your dolls? One time, I was holding one while getting out of the car and when I closed the door it hit her faceplate which went flying down to the asphalt. Miraculously, the faceup wasn't damaged at all!

    48. 1. How long have you been a member of DoA?
Lucky 13 for me this year! :clover

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
I have 27 BJDs right now, but I recently paid off the layaway for #28 :sweat I honestly never thought I would have this many...
As for other dolls, who even knows. I also like Pullips and MH so there are a LOT of dolls in this house.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I love love love designing their styles and final look. It's amazing to me the incredible variety you can get. They really are the dolls I dreamed about having when I was a kid playing with Barbies.

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
I love being able to find so much information available, and I love sharing it with new people! Also I :aheartbea the Doll Profile section!

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
I mostly buy sculpts I like and the characters follow. They do have a very loose storyline, but it's mostly a thinly-veiled excuse to get dolls that I think are cool

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
They inspire so many of my hobbies! Thanks to BJD I had an avenue to get into sewing (I always wanted to, but sewing tiny clothes is much more fun and approachable than human-sized ones), I became interested in photography, I even got interested in making wigs. Also once I made their characters I realized I really liked them, so they inspire my writing too!

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
I think between 40-62 (MSD sizes and standard SD sizes) are my favorite. I love my Soom Supergems, but they are really too big for me. I like smaller sizes too but they don't have quite as much of an impact.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
My first BJD was a Luts Shiwoo and I still have and treasure him!

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
Clothes, clothes, clothes. We never seem to have enough wigs or shoes because I'd always rather buy or make cute outfits :whee:

      10. If you were asking a meme question--what would it be (and what would your answer be)?
What is your favorite style or "era" of BJD? Do you like the old anime influenced faces, the Soom Craze-inspired elegant dolls with animal parts, the hyper-realistic Iplehouse/Granado/Dollshe look, the super thin and leggy fashion model-esque dolls like PashaPasha, etc etc?
My favorite is still the old school stylized dolls. For me the early-mid 2000s was really the golden age of aesthetic. I'm happy to see that some sculptors are still doing it today!

I just picked a few of my favorite questions to answer :3nodding:

For me, this month is the 1st anniversary @DoA :)

      2. How many dolls do you have (and/or wish to have)?
Currently I own 16 full BJDs, floating heads and headless bodies are not counted.
Now I wish to have 1~3 more BJD.

      3. What's your favorite thing about bjds?
I cannot explain about this -- but I am quitely sure that there are so many favorite things in this hobby!

      4. What's your favorite thing about DoA?
I can see amount of dolls in worldwide, in vaaaarious styles! Such an amazing website.

      5. Are you shelling Original Characters, non-OCs, just buying sculpts you like, or doing something else?
Mainly buying the sculpts -head and body both- in my favorite.
Maybe non-OCs, but I like to name my dolls with some meaningful Kanji(mostly Japanese) characters.

      6. Are bjds inspiration for writing fiction, artwork, sewing, business, something else, --or just important for themselves (or both or all)?
They are important for themselves - yes, and also I am inspired for buisness, to make money so I can buy something good items for my dolls lol
Also I have started the photography to take good photos for dolls - currently not only for dolls but love to take everything! I guess that this is a kind of inspiration as well.

      7. What's your favorite size(s) of bjd?
Maybe SD sizes? I like their big pretty heads lol
For me, YoSD sizes are easy to handle.

      8. What's the first bjd you bought, and do you still have it?
Actually I cannot remember about this and I do not have my very first BJDs.

      9. What's your favorite thing to buy and/or make for your bjds?
I like to buy some pretty eyes! There are so many high-quality eyes in the world...

      10. A meme question: When did you see a BJD in person, and how was the situation?
At middle school, a junior girl student brought her own BJD to school. Still have no idea why that happened
