[Adopted] Dollmore Trinity Discussion

Sep 11, 2012

    1. I didn't get Elysia's seams sanded and I really don't notice them.

    2. I think that if my Elysia needs it, I may do it myself. I think I will just wait and see what happens.

    3. Hi! Just want to share my PPLumie when she attended a local meet (post-Valentines day Blind date :D )

    4. Wow, she's gorgeous!

    5. Oooo, she's gorgeous. Is she wearing Klaire's Voler outfit, by chance? I'd love to get my hands on one of those someday!

    6. She is gorgeous! Did she find a blind date? I hope she doesn't mind shorter men!

    7. She's so gorgeous! Lumie is my favorite.

    8. Does anybody know the size/diameter of the elastic trinities are strung with? I've searched several threads, but haven't gotten a hit.

    9. The largest size elastic Dollmore sells on its site is 5mm. Says it's meant for 60cm dolls or over, but doesn't specify which. So, I'd say 5mm or larger is suitable for the Trinities?

Or you could always ask on their Q&A section? They're really good about answering questions within a 24hr period (a bit longer over weekends).

    10. Thank you!

    11. What a hauntingly beautiful Lumie!

    12. Hi everyone! After a several year dollie hiatus, I'm back! And I might have just bought the Red Priestess Klaire. :XD:

      Now the wait begins! Ugh!

      • x 1
    13. Congratulations! That's a big and lovely re-entry!

    14. Thanks Nancy! I'm so excited. I had forgotten what it feels like to wait for a doll. Lol.

I have a question, I've been reading posts and stuff and I've seen that a lot of people have to pay huge customs fees. Yikes! I googled it but I was wondering what the general rule is for having to pay customs. I've never had to on any of my other dolls. Is it because she's so large? I read something that said that the fees are typically 20% of the cost of your purchase. Any truth to that?

    15. We don't have a problem with customs fees in the US. This is a world wide group and members in the UK and Europe have problems with customs fees.

    16. Yes, I live in the US, too, and have never had to pay customs on any of my dolls, even the Trinity. :)

    17. Oh thank goodness! Someone on here had said they paid $400+ in custom fees. (It threw me off because they said $ and not a different currency.)

    18. I'm just curious, what kind of doll stand does everyone use for their Trinity(s)? Are there other large stands besides the Dollmore one?

    19. I don't think any other company makes a stand large enough to hold the weight of a Trinity. I was lucky, and Dollmore gave me one of their stands with my Elysia when I picked her up at Dollism the other year as a gift. But my Lumie sits in a child-size chair.

    20. I think that's what I'll do, put her in a chair. Maybe I'll try to make a stand. We'll see how adventurous I feel. Lol.

    21. Amazon sells really cute child-size armchairs. The prices vary depending on the individual seller, but I think I paid like $40 for mine, and it seats a Trinity and a Lusion comfortably. Plus, they're like a third of the weight of a stand and a lot easier to wrestle a Trinty in and out of. lol

    22. Thanks Stormlight! Very good to know! I'll definitely look into it.

I wish she could fit in my "doll cabinet" but she's WAY too big. I have cats that like to chew on dolly hands and feet. I was thinking about keeping her inside the carrying bag that she comes in, but it's such a shame to keep her hidden. I'm hoping I can just throw a heavy blanket over her (in her chair) while I'm not there and that will keep the kitties away.

I still have at least 2 months to plan, so we'll see what happens.

    23. Congrats on your ordering Klaire, Dark Angel!

    24. Thank you very much, Lee Turner! The wait is killing me! Lol.

    25. I know! I make my 3rd payment on Elysia in a few weeks. I sure wish I could have her now. It is such a long wait!

    26. Is this your first big girl? I can't even imagine how big she's going to be. I keep trying but I won't know for sure until she gets here. 28 days and counting! ^_^

    27. Hello everyone! I'm ecstatic to share that I caved and bought the Blanc Printemps Elysia that I'd been sighing dreamily over for weeks now, thanks in large part to @Lee Turner! ;) I had been waffling about her because I was so scared of her size, but I decided I loved her and I could handle her ruling the roost. <3

I put her on the loooong layaway--she'll be my graduation present to myself. :)

    28. Congrats ryuunohime!

    29. Congrats on ordering Elysia! She's a gorgeous one.

Has anyone seen Dollmore has a brand new Trinity sculpt out? She's pretty, but I'm personally not fond of her fullset outfit. She reminds me a little bit of Dahlia.

    30. I'm glad to say the new face doesn't call to me. I don't have room for another one, so it's a relief to not be tempted!

    31. she reminds me of an iplehouse girl in certain shots. Probably because of the mouth (kinda like Soo). I really like her face!

    32. Thank you guys!

      And I did see the new one, I almost had a heart attack when I saw the news and I -just- finished ordering Elysia. Thankfully, not tempted at all. ^^;

    33. I like the new doll but not the outfit. I will be curious to see else they do with her.

    34. Same. I think it's her mouth???

I, personally, like her. But not as much as Klaire. (Thank goodness!) After I receive my Klaire, I'm going to have to stop looking at the Dollmore website. I DON'T need another Trinity doll. :sweat Right?

    35. Right! They're so gorgeous, but with that price tag, they definitely have to be spaced out. So maybe check it every six months or so. ;)

    36. LOL six months! More like, six years! *_*

    37. They do tend to sell out slowly despite their small numbers of editions. Six years, though....I left the hobby for nine, and it's almost a completely different world! There's a LOT more companies, sizes, etc. I missed a ton, too.

I'm trying (desperately) to limit myself to 2-3 dolls a year. I'm already up to 2, so I'm not doing so awesome.:sweat But hey, I probably won't get my Trinity until next year, so that's something. And I do have a lot of years to make up for. Yeah, let's go with that.

    38. I think you should count on your Trinity arriving this year!

    39. I know what you mean, I was away for about 5 years and there's a ton of new companies!

I'm just glad I saw Klaire. I really liked Dahlia but something (and I still don't know what) is preventing me from getting her. Something to do with her sculpt, I think. But now there's this Eugenia... Ugh... no more! One SUPER expensive and massive doll is enough! (I say that now, wait until I get her and she needs a friend. Haha.)

    40. Does anyone else think the new Trinity Eugenia reminds you of the Lusion Dahlia? I know her nose is different, but there's something about her eyes that looks very similar to me! It might just be me, though... :eusa_sile

    41. Yes, Stormlight and I both do.

    42. I think Trinity Eugenia has a pouty expression similar to Lusion Dahlia. Perhaps she is Dahlia's older sister.

    43. I put her on the 12-month layaway, though I am hoping to pay her off by December. Here's hoping.

Welcome back then! That last part is so true. They always need friends!

And yes, Eugenia and Dahlia are somewhat similar. I wonder if it was done on purpose? What size are lusions?

    44. Gah! I completely missed those earlier posts about Eugenia where the comparison to Dahlia was already pointed out! I'm sorry.

Lusions are much smaller, I believe 80cm? Though their head circumference is technically the same, as they wear the same size wig. Trinity dolls look like adolescent or sometimes teen-aged to me, whereas the Lusion face sculpts never do and seem around toddler aged.

I was exited to see a new Trinity sculpt but honestly I'm just waiting to see more Elysia releases haha

    45. Speaking of Eugena, looks like Dollmore has already released a second fullset for her! That was fast!

      Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more

Luckily, this set also doesn't appeal to me. Pretty, but just not my style. I don't know if it's the outfit or the doll itself or the combination of both, but both sets are just kind of meh to me.

    46. Ah, thanks for the clarification on the lusions, I thought they were the same size as American Girl dolls. They definitely look much younger.

Ah, boy, I'm not sure my wallet could take it if they do that! She is gorgeous, though. I'm not sure if it was in this thread or elsewhere but someone mentioned that Elysia was the 'glamorous' Trinity sculpt and I love that description of her. :D

    47. I definitely liked the first one better. This second one... somethings not quite right about it. (To me.) I think it's her face up?

    48. Wow! Her face looks completely different with the Metaphor Play faceup! I don't particularly like the orange-brown eyeshadow on the lower lid, but other than that I really love the way her face looks there and actually prefer it to My Agnes, which looked very "off" to me. I think her eyes look less cat-like in Metaphor Play, maybe softer and more child-like, which appeals to me.

The new Golden Dust Elysia is amazing. I love the yellowy green eyes they gave her and the natural brown-toned faceup. I can't get over how much I love that sculpt.... Not crazy about the color of her outfit, but the more I stare at it, the more it appeals to me, just because I love the collar and sleeves.

    49. YAY!!!! Always glad to enable! LOL

    50. I sure do!

    51. I want the first Eugenia doll with the clothes of the second! LOL

    52. I'm trying very hard not to look at the first Eugenia doll... I think I want her. UGH! It's hard to check the shipping status on my Klaire and not see Eugenia.

Also, would it be acceptable to ask Dollmore how my order is coming? It's been 44 business days, and 61 days including Saturday and Sunday. Should I send them a quick message or just be patient? How long did it take everyone else to receive their Trinity's?

    53. I think it's fine for you to send a short message, but I emailed them litle more than a week ago regarding the status of my Lusion (it had been maybe 70- days?) and they said they're currently experiencing a backlog for shipping the orders and apologized, asking me to wait a bit longer, telling me they hoped to get her out within the week. Sure enough, they sent me shipping info another week later :) So I think sending a message is fine because they might give you an estimated timeframe like they told me.

    54. My Elysia took a bit over two months but that was about three years ago.

    55. I'll just send them a little message. I was hoping she'd be here for my birthday (yesterday), but that didn't happen. :( Oh well.

    56. Aww, belated happy birthday! It's so hard to tell when dolls will arrive...I usually end up -buying- near my birthday instead. ;)

    57. Aw I hope you had a good birthday despite that! Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get your girl soon. Did you order extra services like sanding or blushing? Dollmore abby told me those take a bit longer to fulfill (by just another week or so)

    58. Thank you!

Thank you, I did have a nice birthday. I also bought an 11cm Obitsu and she arrived on my birthday, so it wasn't completely doll-free. Lol.

I didn't get sanding or blushing, but I ordered a few extra clothes, wigs, and accessories. Would that make it take longer?

Don't get me wrong, I think they're doing fine time-wise. I've definitely had long waits with other doll companies. I'm just super excited. She's already very special to me and I haven't even seen her yet!

    59. Haha that's good there was a doll present for the occasion, even if it's not the one you were hoping for :D
I don't think adding extra items like clothes or wigs takes more time - just the actual doll services, because those can only be performed after the doll is cast and nearly ready to be shipped out and all that.
I'm excited for the picspam you must post when she arrives!! :) She has such a stunning faceup, possibly my favorite of all the Klaires. I think that makeup will suit basically any outfit you give her (though her outfit is amazing!)

    60. Is your Michaela the Violet Letter edition? She has such a sweet face. I adore her brows and light eyeliner (I'm a sucker for brunettes though!)
