[Adopted] Dollmore Trinity Discussion

Sep 11, 2012

    1. Now that Trinity Jude from Dollmore has been deemed on-topic I figured she needed a discussion thread.

So far there are two versions of Jude:

      Trinity Doll - Black Jude

      Trinity Doll - Golden Jude

According to Dollmore the measurements are:

      1. Tall : 105cm
      2. Body length not include a head : 92cm
      3. Length from hip to knee : 25cm
      4. Length from knee to calf : 24cm
      5. Circumference of neck : 16cm
      6. Width of shoulders : 14cm
      7. Circumference of chest : 42.5cm
      8. Circumference of waist : 31.5cm
      9. Circumference of hips : 46cm
      10. Circumference of Wrist : 11cm
      11. Length from shoulder to wrist include a wrist ball : 30.5cm
      12. Circumference of ankle : 13cm
      13. Length from hip to Heel : 54cm
      14. Length of Foot size : 12.5cm
      15. Circumference of calf : 21cm

    2. Now that's an expensive chunk of resin >_o.... Man, but she's gorrrrgeous. Upon seeing her pictures with Dahlia, I feel so much the urge to have both of them to pay me company at home T___T

    3. And in Dollmore's Ebay auction for Trinity Jude, they list 8 kg. which would make her 17.6 pounds.

So do you think that it is Jude shown on the Dollmore doll stand page, 80-120 cm stand? The face doesn't look as flat to me and the hands look different.

**Already heard back from Dollmore and the BJD on the 80-120cm doll stand page is not Jude. She's a OOAK doll and privately owned.

    4. I definitely feel like having the both of them at home after seeing pictures of them together :D I've been waiting forever for her release!

    5. The sheer size of her is exactly what tempts me so. Making clothes in full scale, and for an imperfect figure, isn't something I find particularly fun... but neither is setting sleeves in the round at 1/4 scale... so Jude's size feels like both having the cake and eating it.

However I'm not the biggest fan of dollmore chins... they are a bit on the large side... so I played around a bit in photoshop (green eyed one is modded):

    6. I think Dollmore just upped themselves with Trinity Jude! She's wonderful and wow she's tall! Although I remember seeing, in passing, a life sized bjd (though I forgot which company it was but it cost 6,000$ :o
I'm a fan of Dollmore sculpt, owning one of their Model girls. And I got to say, their sculpts are underrated..

    7. i'm thinking about getting one, but not til next year i need to pay off a ransom for one of my girls (a.k.a. layaway)

    8. @ gachapon - that was Bimong's girl. She has a VERY different asthetic than Trinity IMO.

@Ciantha - I LOVE the modding test you did. I too am not a fan of some Dollmore Chin and Cheeks.

I wonder if the Dahlia/Lusion head would fit on the Trinity body? (and if so... how it would look) Its so tempting to get one of these girls... a friend and I had planned Lusion twins, but now I wonder if we'll upgrade. I have to move to a bigger place first! I wouldn't know where to put her!

    9. She is simply wonderful! I look forward to seeing owner pics of her someday. xD

    10. I'm so excited this doll was finally released. Even though she's not 120cm, 105cm is still fantastic! I see they've raised the price on the faceup and body sanding since yesterday, though. Yesterday it was $90 for a faceup, now it's $100. It was $140.00 for body sanding, now it's $200.

I love everything about Jude but her lips and chin...which is sadly a big deal. Well, that and the price, lol, but she actually costs less than I thought she would. Why do Dollmore dolls always have to look so tragically sad? :(

    11. They surely did! Sheesh, that was quick. I had saved the pricing information yesterday, just to have and now it is already out of date. My goodness.

    12. I love her height but sadly not her face, another Dahlia mouth and chin.

    13. I told my son (who is polite about all this doll stuff and occasionally even interested) that Dollmore has made a doll *bigger* than a Lusion. He said "Why in the world would they do that? What are they going to do next, Madame Maxime size?"

For the uninitiated: Madame Maxime is a Harry Potter character and half-Giant.

    14. I like Jude more than Dahlia. Though her chin does seem a tiny bit big.

But I can't see myself owning her even if I had the money. She'd have no where to go except to sleep on my bed. @_@

    15. Wow, that is one b*i*g girl!! 17 pounds??? yoiks! I have a 34" Masterpiece (OT) girl and she's hard enough to handle and dress, so I'm thinking I will just enjoy these new girls vicariously... Can't wait to see some owner pix.

    16. I asked Jee about other resin colours and limited and got a positive response. There will soon be white and ice skin Trinity Judes as well as limited edition dolls.

I'll be ordering a white girl to go with my Red Ridinghood Dahlia.

    17. I love these new girls soo much!
What neat dolls, would be awesome to have a girl that size.
17lbs is really heavy though, my old delf boy killed my arms at a convention.
But I don't see myself lugging one around anyways. Would be more of doll to pose and photograph.

As for Jude's face, I wish she didn't look so serious.
Maybe it's because I drawn to really cutesy sculpts lol.
But she is the older sister so it makes sense I guess. :)

    18. Cian: Oh wow! she'd be amazing with a smaller chin... I bet a good modder could do that easily!

    19. I agree with you on both counts. Her face is just enough off for me to not weep bitterly that I can't afford her. On the other hand, she costs less than some of the (much) smaller limiteds I've seen. It would be a lot of fun to knit for a doll this size, but my budget and my house are too small.

I wonder if Dollmore will make other face sculpts for this body size. They haven't really done for Lusion, and I've always wondered why not.

    20. poly: Probably has something to do with how BIG these dolls are... I bet it'd be expensive to make new molds and make test pieces and what not...though they just did a new mold for the elf ear version... so who knows.

But I agree, she's tons cheaper than some of the other dolls I've seen that are a fraction of her size.

    21. Her eyes, shoes, and wig size are all the same as as Dahlia, so I am thinking that theoretically you might be able to do a head swap! I am day dreaming putting my Elf Dahlia on this new trinity body.... ooh wow :aheartbea

    22. wow looking at the new size wonder if they will make bigger size in the future. My biggest non bjd is 46" doll :)

    23. ...I'm not really a fan of Dollmore chins... If they had placed her mouth a bit lower... T_T
But she IS interesting, the body and hands are beautiful. I'd love to have a huge BJD like her XD

Unfortunatelly, we probably will never see another head for this size (or maybe just one, like Dahlia).
I think they should offer different heads for the bigger dolls TT

I've always considered to get Dahlia, but I don't like her face enought.... And I bet it will be the same with Trinity ._. too bad... I really wanted a big girl around!

    24. Trinity Jude will be coming home to my place.... I can feel an epoxy putty mod or two coming on!!! Always wanted a BJD this size....I love big dollies :fangirl:

    25. I too really like her. I think in this size the golden Trinity or NS was more appealing to me than the white resin. I like the slimmer silhouette too and love the fact that she can wear the same size as Dahlia is also very appealing. Did someone say that Dollmore would be coming out with an LE Edition for her? I also was a little taken aback about the price change after one day of her being offered for sale. I think that was a little tacky.
      Jillian

    26. I have to agree about the chin, but I don't think I'm put off enough by it xD Maybe they'll release new head sculpts for her sometime? Either way, I was very torn between an NS or WS Dahlia... and now with this new girl, I'm thinking a WS Dahlia and an NS Jude fits in perfectly :D

I can hear my wallet weeping...

    27. Super excited to see this girl finally released! Can't wait to save up enough to get her, and make her many many goregous outfits. I also like that her eyes and wig size are the same as the lusions, and it looks like her waist might be small enough that some of my longer elastic lusion size skirts might fit. Saves some time and money to get her set up with the basics if she can share with a doll I already have.

    28. Fortunately, for me, I'm safe against wanting a Trinity doll until they follow the pattern with the Lusions size and bring out a sculpt that doesn't look so miserable.

Of course, she'd probably be declared off-topic here on DoA if they did bring out a more smiley sculpt so...

But at least for the moment I don't need to start frantically saving and wondering where in the house a doll of that size could go.

      Teddy

    29. As a fan of dollmore sculptures myself, chins and mouths included, I find her utterly gorgeous. I wish I could afford both her and Dahlia, and have them at home posing here and there and looking creepy and delicious, hehe

    30. I must echo 'creepy and delicious'... it's exactly why I adore them so! The fact that they can look so real and creep the living daylights out of other people is a huge plus point for me 8D

    31. Ciantha, I like your version of Jude and gachapon, it was Bimong's Audrey whom you saw...But this doll isn't life size and she's very cool and very fun. As I'm in fantasy mode now, I think I'd like one of each.

    32. Yeah Teddy, I second that! I could probably be convinced that I should spring 2K on Jude or Dahlia if they didn't look so mopey, sad and sulky.

    33. I, myself, don't care for grinning dolls. I needs must have someone serious and, perhaps, even solemn. Happy dolls just irk me :P

I could easily make room for a trio of Trinitys.

    34. I third this. I just don't understand why glum seems to be the mood for all their dolls.

    35. I actually don't think Jude looks sad at all! Just wistful, maybe? Certainly not as morose as many Dahlias look. She actually seems to have a slight smile.

I also really like her chin and mouth. I think it's interesting that she doesn't have a classically beautiful BJD face. She is much more compelling this way, in my opinion.

    36. I'm with you on the chin - reminds me of some of the Elfdoll girls, but a more smiley mouth would appeal to me a lot more.

      Teddy

    37. I agree that Dahlia looks very sulken, and on a child sized doll, that just reminds me of a bratty child with no manners. However for Jude, I don't feel she she the same expression. I think she has a more curious face.

My thoughts on the chin: I don't think the chin is the wrong shape, but I do think that the size, shape, and placement of the mouth on the face isn't quite right, and it makes the chin look big. If the mouth weren't so close to her nose, her chin would look right.

Anyway, I mostly just browsing this theard because a 105cm doll sounded like something I had to see! I'll be excited for owner pictures and comparison photos

    38. HHHMMM!! i'm just wondering with her
size would she fit clothes made for the my size barbie??
i'm still thinking about this girl.

      later brad

    39. gachapon- I believe the life-sized BJD you're referring to is from D-Storic. I forget the sculpt name off the top of my head though.

And is it wrong that when I saw Jude with Dahlia I instantly thought of Sailor Saturn and Chibi Moon, especially with Black Jude's short wig? XD

    40. Hehehe, as a Sailor Moon fan, I love that reference! xD She does remind me a bit of Hotaru, now that I think about it.

I'm hoping that by the time I actually have the funds to order her, there'll be a new sculpt released but considering Dollmore's track record with these things, I'm not too hopeful... xP

    41. Black Jude reminds me of Quorra from Tron: Legacy, lol. If I got her and could sew, she would so be getting a black bodysuit and Identity Disc. XD

I'm also hoping for a new head, but I'm not holding my breath either.

    42. I haven't been active for months and haven't felt like adding to my doll collection (doesn't help I'm flat broke) but I am definitely going to start saving for her in January, hopefully to get her by March. She's like a doll seamstress's dream!

    43. Saw about this pretty lady in my emails! She's beautiful! I love the look of the Dahlia and Jude (I wondered why they didn't make more face sculpts for Dahlia too)
Unfortunately though, she would just bee too tall for me (70cm is verging on too tall for me!) and wouldn't fit into my doll family...
Can't wait to see owner pics and definitely some comparisons with SD's too!

    44. JLostein- I agree she reminds me a lot of saturn! I'm planning a chibiusa (sailor mini-moon) cosplay for my Lusion so mabye when I save up and get a Black Jude I could have a chibiusa and a saturn, or mabye sailor moon and chibiusa, although golden might be better suited for sailor moon. Need to save save save so I can get her sooner rather than later!

    45. I have fallen in love with her.
Normally I don't do normal skin dolls since they don't really fit my fantasy crew. But this doll is just so amazing and I would really love to sew her beautiful lolita outfits! :D And since I want her as a seperate doll (meaning that she won't be part of the fantasy crew but more like a stand-alone doll) I think that normal skin would look better for her than white skin, so I don't have to wait for a limited white skin version luckily. ^^

So I am going to save up for the Black Jude version. And hopefully I will be able to order her around April/May.

    46. I really love big dolls but I held off buying Dahlia because she just seemed too young. I don't think I'll be able to resist Trinity now. I'm trying to get the funds together to buy her.

    47. !!!!! Oh my. She's beautiful. I certainly cannot fit one in my apartment, but I am moving into my first house in February. Maybe I'll start saving for her and Dahlia, putting aside some pennies (lots and lots of them, lol).

My SO likes my cute MSDs, but I think this may be a smiiidge harder for him to deal with though, lol!!! I can see where people would find these huge dolls creepy (heck, people find the MSDs creepy).

But which one to pick, dark or light? Hmm!

    48. I'm waiting for a white skin Trinity, and I may wait for a limited edition white skin. The faceups on the limited Lusions are so beautiful. My Red Ridinghood just blows me away every time I look at her. She looks at least ten years older than most of the other Dahlias.

    49. I'm lucky, I prefer NS. Depending on how well they sell, it could be a while before they release a special version. I'll be interested to see the face-up though.

    50. Well, Jee was pretty solid on the three resin types and limiteds being in the works. And they way they've been popping out limited Lusions like they were Tic Tacs, I'm thinking that we'll be seeing more Trinities before you can say "spit".

    51. I got an email from Dollmore about Jude 105cm! My first thought without having seen the girl......"She's almost tall enough to be a 12 year old daddy's girl". :aheartbea

When I saw her.....she's beautiful but a bit too mature for my liking. Anyway, I love big girls, they're a delight to dress and a shoulder to cry on. It's a pity I don't have space to ever own one this size. Envy those with the right house for her. What a darling. Speaks well of Dollmore for making her.

Has anyone arranged to adopt her?

    52. I adore your RRH Merangel, she's utterly gorgeous. Just too much white resin for me with Trinity but that NS Trinity keeps calling me. Every doll I have would look fabulous in her arms. I'm saving. Jillian

    53. Jillian, you're the best. I could seriously hug you if my arms were longer.

That RRH Lusion of mine decided that she is fond of me after all, and she not only wants a WS Trinity older sister, but there is talk of a NS Trinity to be the first female ghillie on her estate in Scotland.

I didn't even know she HAS an estate in Scotland. You only realize what a slippery slope doll ownership can be when the big girls take up residence.

    54. Well, I'm hoping that I can get the cash together to get Trinity soon. I've got a birthday coming up and I think I'll try and sell some dolls so as long as I can pay the remainder off in the 5 months, I'm happy to put her on layaway.

    55. I love her. I especially like that her torso seems to be more in proportion. She doesn't look as grumpy as Dahlia does sometimes. I can't afford her sadly, and I don't have a place to put one that big. My Dahlia already has to sit cause I have no where for her to stand that is animal proof.

    56. Merangel, I think you made the right decision in keeping your beautiful RRH Lusion. Her face is TDF.

I have been back and back looking at both the Trinity girls. The white resin is really beautiful and I particularly love it against the jet black wig. She has alot of possiblities. I thought I wanted the NS Trinity but now not sure. I'm thinking I'll hold out and see if they come out with an LE a little later. I see that Dollmore is now starting to sell clothing for the Trinity girls too.

I agree with you Zaidalin79, you definitely need a safe place for her to either sit or stand. I have a friend who has a new puppy and she chewed on one of her Lusion's feet. Not good.

So Trinity might possibly be a landowner now?

      Jillian

    57. I love her too,and for some reason the black Trinity reminds me of Souldoll Hye...
Not sure how much Custom charges would be though....

    58. Well, they marked down my Lusion without being asked to so they'd probably do the same on a Trinity.

      Teddy

    59. Joining this thread is a bad idea. A very bad idea. Lusion was as big as I thought would appeal to me... why can't I be into tinies?!

    60. because you can't really hug tinies!! :)
