@SteamWitch I love his faceup! Even though I won't ever request a beard on my own guys, I enjoy seeing them on other people's dolls! @Mahgiep Hooray! Glad to know it worked out in the end, even though the color needed some help. At least it turned out not to be the VIBRANT ORANGE tan that some older Impls have.
Oh oh, I now feel super lucky not to have an orange-y tan! This body was custom dyed to go with the Granado head. Therefore it's a one of a kind color.
@AntarelNefertili - I'd love to see a titan in person one day. They look awesome. I sort of forced my realistic guys on my community of smaller, more anime-looking doll owners and they've just had to deal with me being the odd one out over the last few years. @SteamWitch - He looks awesome! The beard details are fantastic. @Mahgiep - That does look like a good hybrid. Nicely proportioned. Bugger about the resin mismatch though, you did a good job fixing it.
I'm all over the map as far as styles go. I have an... eclectic collection and apparently I own all the weird dolls. I know someone in my local group owns a Vindoll and he's amazing looking and shockingly light when you're used to resin. But I think we're the only 2 people who own Granado dolls in the local group (or at least we're the only ones I know about).
@Quiet and Insane Oh, I so feel you there! After Alek (he was the only one who ever handled my Michael for faceups) went overseas, I was pretty much the only one left who brings a Granado to the local meets. Thankfully, someone recently got an Enoch, so at least that's a yay! Even then, people still call Guórén "Daddy" because he looks so mature compared to most of the other boys (and also because his character IS the father of my fraternal twin dolls). @Iron_Dog There are so many choices for sculpt styles nowadays. Even though I prefer the more realistic end of the spectrum, it's always fun to see all sorts of dolls irl. (Of course, it will be some time we'd get to actually arrange a face-to-face doll gathering again in our community.)
@AntarelNefertili Yeah, my local group has been doing Zoom meets but they generally do them on the weekend. My Sundays are completely given to D&D gaming and Saturday is usually my day to run all over creation doing chores and such so I haven't been able to attend any of them.
@AntarelNefertili - Hahaha yeah I feel like we sort of stole Alek. He lives not too far from me, and we do get together to do our photoshoots when Granado has their competitions. It's nice to not have the only Granado around here! I uh...have two Enochs so...whoops. That said, here's a recent photo I took of Claudio, my Neptune (on a borrowed body) checking out the brand new deck we had built for our new house. Poor guy has been waiting so long for a body. IMG20200724172217 by Liz, on Flickr
Question for anyone who has a 72cm Vigor, do you have shoes that fit him and if so where did you get them? I had shoes from mine but they are a bust.
@Quiet and Insane Enoch seems to be one of the most popular Granado sculpts, eh? (At least from the archangel series.) What body is Claudio on? The right hand caught my eye, because it's not everyday you see hands sculpted with the thumb outstretched like that. @PennyForTheGuy Even though my guy doesn't use a Granado body, his foot size seems similar to the Vigor's. In theory, Iplehouse EID shoes might fit, but I don't own any so I can't really vouch for that. In fact, the only pair of footwear my poor guy currently has are these. They're a little long on the toes, but I'm simply happy to have them fit at all. On the other hand, I am still having a hard time getting used to the fact that I now have two complete guys in the doll crew. For four years, Guórén (my Granado Michael) has been the lone guy in a crew populated by girls. I was trying to photograph him with his son (a LoongSoul ZhuZhao who obviously took more after the mother), and it looked like they didn't know how to interact with each other LOL. Two Kinds of Lions by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
@AntarelNefertili - I originally had a Michael, but Enoch seemed far more accurate to that particular character. Likewise, before Claudio was a Neptune, he was an Andrew! Only Iwan, my Mads has stayed the same over the years! Claudio is currently borrowing a DollShe 28M Classic body. The neck is a terrible fit and the resin match is a little off, hence the turtleneck. That said, it was only ever supposed to be a temporary hybrid, as James (my DS Grant) doesn't really like sharing. Hahaha, who doesn't love an awkward family photo?
I have a head that is going to need a beefy body and was looking at the new ones that Granado is offering for a short order period in August first through the third. Does anyone know what wait times are with the virus and all and do they do dhl or EMS? Thanks in advance for replies.
Hello everyone. I dont know if this is the right place to ask this but, what head sculpts would work well (resin color, and neck circum. wise) with the granado vigor 75cm body? Thanks in advance!
I ordered granado zen body on April 1st. And it was delivered on July 21. I live in Korea, so I don't know how much it will help you.
I got this body for my modoll Tom Hiddleston. Since it has a 13cm neck you'll need a pretty large head to keep things in scale. My guy looks pretty good on it. I can't comment much on resin matches. Modoll normal is fairly yellow and Granado is quite pink but with a face up you really don't notice.
That's great! Your doll looks amaaazing btw! I'd have to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation!
Thank you. Even though they are in China and your in Korea it seems it wasn't to long a wait compared to some others.
My Raguel just got home yesterday and I made a box opening thread for him here! IMG_1851 by Puteri Nurainn, on Flickr
Oh he's super gorgeous @Dead! I love his face up and piercings. That's so nice of Granado to give you an extra head! Do you have any plans for him?
Aww thank you so much! Yeah I really thought for a moment that I’d gotten the wrong order I still don’t have any plans for him, but I’ll try giving him a faceup and see where it goes from there! Thank you!!
Not sure if this'll be helpful for anyone, but I took some full-body shots of my Raguel on his Zen body because someone requested for it on my Instagram. So I thought I'd post it here too. Wow, he's a skinny guy. Is he standing on the pillow unaided? One of my guys would want this type of body but it's too tall for what he needs *sigh*.
@Dead! - I had that feeling once before when a doll arrived without me knowing it had shipped. Sent the company an email and they were like, yeah that's yours, surprise! I look forward to seeing what you come up with for him. Ahhh I love the proportions of the Zen body but I just can't deal with the chiseled abs. They're so defined it's a little creepy and it bugs me because the rest of the body as a whole is gorgeous.
Wow, thanks for sharing! Everything about that body is gorgeous (especially being able to wrap your hand around him, squee!) I guess the question becomes do I like everything else enough to overlook the arm joints, hmmm... (I like elbow joints to have 3 external parts, I've found it easier to pose and more stable for prop holding, and such) A little bit of light sanding should fix that, maybe? Does Granado use sandable resin? The lack of obvious seamlines is telling me yes, but I'm not entirely sure (Also, going to try to swap my Harlequin head onto a twigling body today. I'm having elbow surgery tomorrow, so it's down to now or 4 weeks+ later. Besides, it's not like I have to worry about straining anything, 2 weeks in a cast is plenty of time to recover from that )
Ah, I wish! He’s actually leaning on the window a little aww are you looking for a 60cm body? Aww yeah maybe like Girrl said, you could try sanding it down a little! I think I read somewhere that Granado’s darker resins are sandable. Unless you’re planning to get the lighter skins then probably it wouldn’t be a problem i loooove how lean he is! And I love his dainty fingers too, which is weird for me to say because I’ve always preferred bigger hands but wow, the sculpting on these ones are Hope your elbow surgery went well! Get well soon
@Dead! Yes, Oleander (Angel Toast Crow head) needs a skinny, elegant body and he needs it in 60cm max. It's been tough to find because he's also got a fairly large neck opening so needs an absolute minimum 9.5cm neck (10cm would be better). He's currently on a Miro body but it's far too beefy for his character.
@Girrl - I'm not sure about their resin, I hope it's sandable, because I'd be looking at getting the body in bronze, to match my spare Enoch head. (No stress, it's really just a pipe dream at this stage and I'm certainly not in a rush. Best wishes for your surgery! ) @Dead! - I might end up asking them at some stage, just to be super sure. I don't want to spend all the extra money on bronze resin only to have it look terrible after sanding. But that's not a priority at the moment. I need to focus on finishing off my main crew before I start spending money on the unplanned ones.
Sorry to ask, but I didn't find a comparison. Maybe I was looking wrong... What is the difference between old and new normal skin?
@Arengil I do not have a better photo, but this post on my IG shows a drastic difference between my 2016 Granado Michael (the gray-haired guy standing) and a more recent Granado Enoch on the front row. Both are supposedly New Normal, but my Michael is tanned by comparison. We even compared the inside of the headcaps to make sure that it wasn't just the blushing making the difference, but the newer New Normal is definitely on the pale side.
Not the best photo, but I just got my second hand Dollshe Mystic body for my second hand Uriel head, so now you get to see him in all his pale bald goodness! Right now he's just got some extra eyes in that I had lying around while I wait for his proper eyes to ship. I'll be getting his wig made and painting him up soon. . and maybe he'll get to wear clothes one of these days too. . Dr. Nikola Valentine unpainted by Tatterpunk, on Flickr
Thank you! Good for me. My idea is a hybrid of PhoenixDoll Liu (oriental skin) and Granado nuevo female body.
I darkened the lips on my Raguel on Impldoll body and I'm pretty darn happy with him. Hoon In by Kathy Puckett, on Flickr
It fits pretty well. The range of movement could be a little better due to how his neck hole is shaped, but I won't absolutely have to model anything. I did a video of the box opening for the body and the like. Both the body and the head are yellowed some so I don't know how the match would be without that.
Sorry, if this was asked before, but I just found out about these VIP sales at Granado. Does anyone know how this works? It seems everyone who bought from Granado is a VIP (so I'm like thrice a VIP because I own three Granados already) but I didn't know about a certain sale and it annoys me a lot, because I would have wanted to participate. I wonder where they announce it and how I can be included in such a sale if it ever takes place again. Any help would be so appreciated... (guess it's hard to find these sculpts afterwards...)
@DeanDynamite , they will generally email you about the VIP events. It's possible they don't have your correct email, or it landed in your spam folder??
I checked. They have my mail and they did not write me. And nothing in spam ... I'm a little annoyed.
I am not getting any emails from Granado either, so not sure what's exactly going on with their newsletter service. I finally got the courage to give my Michael the same ventilated wig treatment as my other dolls. It's far from done, and the lighting makes it appear paler than it should, but I'm quite happy with how it's looking so far. He's been with me for the longest time (and is also the most picky with wigs), but he was conspicuously the only one in the current crew not wearing a wig I made by myself. Wigmaking experiments resulted in faceup damage to my favorite doll, so I wanted to make sure I already have a good hang of the method before I put him through the wringer. I got Dr. Nikola Valentine (My Uriel on the Dollshe Mystic Body) all painted up and his wig made! I still need his proper eyes to arrive, but here he is! Dr. Valentine by Tatterpunk, on Flickr
Thank you so much! I'm really happy with how everything turned out. That was my first time attempting to make a little stubble on a doll and I think I managed to succeed. Even though now my bestie refers to him as Bucky or Mr. Barnes whenever I show her lol.
@TatterPunk Uriel is prone to that though. Mine went from Bucky to Aragorn with a bit of a beard The stubble on yours looks fantastic, I'd never have thought it was a first try. Looks like you'd been doing it forever!
Thank you so much! I keep staring at him. The sculpt is gorgeous to begin with, so now that he's all "together" (well almost) he's very stare-at-able. Thanks! I used the toothbrush method like I usually do for freckles or skin texturing just reeeeally really close so the spatter was tiny. I did a little extra with my wee little artetje brush for the cleft part of the chin, but mostly it's just controlled spatter. I had to do some research and all before I did it, so I am glad it worked out!
WOW, looks great. One more ? if you dont mind: do you use a small round toothbrush or classic one? Is there difference because soft/hard brush ..... ???? I work with very soft (old) Curaprox, it is great for face and body but how did you manage to be so precise for stubble ... silent envy. One more time, great work.
@DeanDynamite - If you miss out on VIP sales, then you can actually order discontinued sculpts from them directly. That's how I got my Enoch! Just send them an email or make a post on the Q&A board. @AntarelNefertili - Ooh good luck! I wish I had the patience to ventilate wigs. I just stick to the glue method. @TatterPunk - Wow, he's looking great! Excellent job on his face up!
I see the ballet feet are getting pretty popular and a thinner male body other than Zen has hit Granado on IG. The body looks nice!
Recently, somewhere in Chinise web segment, I've already faced that body prototype with new head in 1/6 scale. The doll was the same size as 31 cm Lucifer on tiny Vigor body. Thus, I assume in 1/3 scale that new doll will be ~74-75 cm tall. And such a maypole is supposed to use ballet feet? I know, it's a nowadays trend in BJD circles after Bimong and Julia Cross's success with her Ballerino series... But I've seen and held in my hands Ballerino boy too (my soulmate has one); so compact, elegant and well manageable he was, that I would never believed all these may be inherent to SD of 70 cm. So, now I just cannot imagine Granado's 75 cm guy, with his physique of a concrete plate, as a dancer, sorry. If only he would dance with a shovel in the garden or with an axe in the woods (BTW, look at the stump near him). Damn, Granado, when will you put SD gesture hands set on sale?
Pretty sure it was an oral B regular toothbrush. Probably soft since that's what I use. I just dip the very end in the colour then spritz VERY close to the face to get the tiny dots (after spritzing to clear water off either on my hand or my palette or paper or whatever. And OMG BALLET FEET! I need this body. YES PLEASE. I mean, I need a body for my Mads head when that gets shipped. . soooooooo -eyes those ballet feet. Yeah. He will clearly be in the story with my vampire girl in that case. . . Just hoping this one has a removable member to assist in the wearing of tights lol.
TatterPunk, thank for tip with trick. I always work with distance, so I try this and maybe miracle happens for me too. And great idea (detachable members), after few "sewing trousers" issue I vote for it.
I hope the body comes with normal flat feet...because my second Enoch NEEDS that body!! Ugh, it's just gorgeous!
Shi and Cupcakes are getting ready for Halloween season. I love this guy (V10), I think he will stay on this hybrid body since I dyed it to match his faceup. Cupcakes and Shi by SteamWitch, on Flickr

I took Nikola (and the motorcycle) out for a little shoot today. The mosquitoes were trying to bite him. . . to him they were the size of bats! Doctor Nikola Valentine by Tatterpunk, on Flickr
@TatterPunk Nikola is gorgeous! He looks so good on a Dollshe body! Did you have to do any modifications to fit the neck? @SteamWitch Your boy looks great I love his face~ @Mahgiep Omg. He's makes a great WWX That's a great mask! I finally finished up my tan Enoch, Asha over the weekend after putting his faceup off for over 2 months.. I love his face and those jointed hands so much.
@Mahgiep He looks amazing! Great job on that mask. @TatterPunk Poor boy, mosquitoes are hard up to hit on him. He looks great and you are brave for taking him into the swarm. @kagami I love him, he is sooooo gorgeous. He is my Shi hanging around the 1/4 scale doll house. He makes me smile. Shi 0903 by SteamWitch, on Flickr
@SteamWitch I love having a totally different V-10 to see! Love your guy! @kagami that gold is so luxurious. Really inspired!
Everyone's dolls are looking so great! @kagami - Ohhhh my goodness! Wow! Both my Enochs are still blank and the gorgeous face up you've done has really put a fire up my butt to get them done. Ugh...pity they're still floating heads... that said, I hope that the new body Granado has been showing off fits these guys because I would love one on that body and another on the Embody!
