My Raguel head suddenly appeared in NYC almost a month since the last tracking notice. He's expected TOMORROW! Yesssssss.
Hoping for the rain to stop soon so I can do his faceup.

Hoon In is here and I already did his face up. I think he should have a Granado body. Can anyone advise me what bodies match his neck hole? I need around 70cm height. He is on a Dollshe Arsene body here.

I believe Raguel was originally made to fit the Evol/Embody.
Hybriding Dollshe and Granado doesn't always quite work out...hence all my poor floating Granado heads...

 

I think it's mostly the neck length (12.5cm neck on Arsene, 11.8cm on Evol) The incompatibility makes the neck longer. I also have a Loongsoul body coming with 11.5cm neck but the Granado bust that came yesterday looks really good! Please excuse the dark photo. It's an early rainy morning here.

Neck length, yes that'll do it. He does look good on the bust! Is that one of their newer ones? I've been meaning to get my hands on a couple for making wigs and displaying my floating heads.

 

Brand new, big size. It came with a peg attachment. Not sure why. Maybe for vindolls? Do you have pegs?

 

Yes, the peg is for putting vindolls on the bust.

Granado heads fit on Ringdoll RMG3 bodies and the resin match isn't bad either. They also fit on Migidoll 65cm.

Can anybody tell me the shoulder size of the evol body with arms? It can't be 15cm...

 

do you mean the width?
the torso alone is about 14 cm wide at the shoulders.
If you add the arms, it's around 19 cm.

Does anyone have a resource for Raguel on different bodies (or a comparable neck size)?
I'm looking for a muscular mature dancer body @70cm. Evol and embody seem too weight lifter.

 

Here's another hybrid. Not a Raguel, but a Michael (they're from the same series tho, so quite comparable). He's on the IMPLdoll Idolman FGB (70cm-ish). Head's actually a bit small for it, but since my guy wears his hair long anyway, I could still make it work. Limited head mobility easily remedied with kips.

I have a Loongsoul body that's also in the 70cm range, and I can say without putting the head on that it's probably going to be awkward with petite Granado heads. I'm putting this in a spoilers tag because it shows a newer LoongSoul head (that's slightly bigger than my Michael's) on that very body, and it's already quite giraffe-necked.

Yes. I just got my first Loongsoul (Wolf Kui Mu Lang) thinking my Raguel could share the body but it is a bad match. The 11.5cm neck tapers to much smaller. The Wolf head has a very small neck hole. I wish neck measurements were standardized more!

Raguel works okay on my Dollshe Arsene's body, but I want a more muscular body.

I just to chime in a little, as I am searching for a slightly shorter body for an IOS Jade head. I do not want to put him onto a 80 cm. Among others, I have also looked at Granado man bodies. Now I wondered how the big Titan body is indicated with only 19 cm shoulder width (for orientation: IOS says for their 80 cms 21 cm shoulder width).

The Granado Vigor is indicated at only 15 cm? I hardly can believe it is that narrow at that point...Maybe somebody can confirm that Granado generally indicates their shoulder widths without arms? That would change the whole game. I really like the posing of the Vigor body.

I also saw a Jade head on a big boy body with 19 cm wide shoulders. So I think anything at or above that with a good overall volume should work. I can change neck length and neck holes. But shoulder widths are a different thing.

If somebody could confirm that, that would be great.

I've received my Granado Lads Plus bodies yesterday and I'm very happy with them.
I consider buying the Zen body for one of my other dolls who has a very bulky body that does not match his delicate face. Zen seems so thin and elegant

I got my Vigor body in for Sir Thomas, and I tried out some poses with him.

He stands really well on his own.


This squat pose is a little strange but he balances on his own and holds it well.

Neck is a little stiff to make this one look completely natural. Should probably pair it up with a pillow.

If there's anyone wondering whether the Vigor can pull off a certain pose just ask and I'll try it out.

@PennyForTheGuy - Oh wow, that body does pose quite well! I've seen the smaller ones hold some great poses, but its great to see the big version matches that! Also, heh heh, peens.

May I present my Granado man. I made a hybrid with Ringdoll RGMbody-3 it had ideal skintone matching with head.
His name is Gösta Söderberg, he is a glassblower in Stockholm. So, greetings to residents of my favourite city! =))

My Raguel, Nox, is on a Ringdoll 3 and I agree that the resin match is pretty wonderful.

 

Ringdoll x Granado do have a good resin match. Not too sure about their tans, but the lighter colours do wrk very well with each other while is very helpful for hybids.

 

RD's and Granado's tans don't match at all ...

 

Ack, missed some messages! Wow, those are some pretty awesome poses on the Vigor! So far LoongSoul is the only other company I'm familiar with that could pull off those poses for that size.

Aaaaand handsome guy you got there, @azurra (and thank you, too)! Re: my Michael's eyes, he's actually using 10mm Soulinabox eyes. Teeny Granado eye sockets are quite difficult to find good eyes for, whoopsies.

 

Hey, I got the Zen jointed hands in today. They are amazing. So easy to pose and they hold the pose, they haven't snapped back from a position (or flipped me off)

@Jany - Not even Sunshine vs Tan? Hm, they're both on the orangey side of the scale. Ah well.

@SteamWitch - Oh they look so graceful! Are you able to get some comparison shots for different bodies?

 

I don't have sunshine. But RD tan and Granado tan don't match, at least not the batches I have (which are a few years old by now).

The hands are Iple RS, body is a tan Granado Nuevo, head is RD tan Norman Light 2.0.

 

More Zen updates! ... also from me, since I got the body recently:

I moved my Telesthesia Wei Yue Jin SP head from Telesthesia's 72cm body to Zen, which worked well. The skincolor is very much alike, but the proportions are quite different.

Zen is 70cm and very thin, very delicate, even next to my 66cm dolls he looks small and slender.
The posing ability is good, as you can see (though in comparison to Granado lads, Zen sits and stands a bit different, the leg movement is not as good as Lads, but still pretty good, the arms can be moved closer to the body than Lads)
I also own the jointed hands, but since I like the normal hands very much, I haven't used them yet.

Hii everyone! I guess I'll be joining this group with a few questions and the like now. I just ordered a Uriel head on the second hand market, and now I'm trying to find a body for him. He's the white resin so I'm not terribly worried about resin matches since it'll all be blushed anyway. Mostly I'm concerned with shoulder width and neck. I want him to look realistic and not require much if any modding to fit. I'm considering a couple options right now, RGM-3 is one, but I'm not totally sure the shoulders work for me. SID model's neck size looks about right (the muscle version is too big) . . . Suggestions appreciated .
Oh! Also, eyes! What size should I be looking for for Uriel?

 

My heads (Raguel and V-10) look great on my Granado bust but I'm not sure which body this represents.

 

@TatterPunk My Uriel is on an IoS Class 70 body (which isn't actually 70cm but closer to 68). I could try him on the Model SID, but the old ("muscle") SID's neck didn't fit so I wouldn't hold out much hope.
I have an Enoch on the AprilStory Senior body, but I'm not sure if those are still around.

 

Forgot to say my Raguel looks good on my Dollshe Arsene body but boyish rather than buff. (I want buff.) You can check on my Flickr public photos (if you want to see and forgot my real name dm me).

 

If you could try him on the model sid it would help definitely if it's not too much trouble.

... nope. No fit. Proportions are okay, but the head sits on top of the neck, the opening isn't large enough. The neck would need to be sanded down a fair bit. (I did snap some pics but they're awful, I still haven't figured out lighting in this place ...)

Funny you should mention a cat wanting him for a bed, because the actual cat at home is especially fond of the big dolls during photoshoots. The sequence below is like a "Seconds From Disaster" short, because she later snagged her claw on the makeshift rug, taking him down with her (caught the guy just in time, whew).

Ahhh, cats. Kizmet is currently annoyed that I have 2 dolls sitting on the loveseat. Never mind that there is plenty of room for him on either side of the dolls and the entire backrest and arms of the loveseat are free (which is where he usually likes to sleep). They're apparently sitting on HIS loveseat and the indignity is not to be borne without withering glares at me for allowing this travesty to happen right in front of me. He doesn't touch them but he is offended that they're sitting there.

 

@AntarelNefertili - Oh wow he does look rather flustered! Your cat is a great way to show perspective on how large these dolls can be to non-doll people!

 

@Quiet and Insane And non-Titan Granados aren't even the largest boys out there. Interestingly enough, even though my Granadude isn't the best-liked of my crew among the local community because of his realistic manly sculpting (definitely quite niche in the BJD hobby), non-doll people appreciate him a lot more.

 

I got my Granado V10 back from Pepstar. I won her faceup give-away. I wanted him to look like Godfrey Gao, RIP. She did an amazing job on the faceup and his unique beard.

I haven't decided on his name yet.

 

@SteamWitch I have V-10 too and did a faceup like Xiao Zhan of The Untamed. Very versatile sculpt! What body will you use?

@Mahgiep I love your guy and thought about Xiao Zhan also, but had to go with Godfrey and his sexy bearded face. He may get a photoshopped cosplay photo as Magnus Bane with glitter and cat eyes.
I don't know what body to put him on. The Migidoll 65's neck is too big, so I'll have to pull everyone out of their boxes and see if I have to buy one for him

 

Hallo, PLS which size of Freedom Teller jeans sits best on Granado Evol's body? They quite expensive .

I took @AntarelNefertili 's advice and got a secondhand Impldoll body in the mail today. It turned out the old "new" normal was very tan and I had to change Raguel, my Hoon In's skin tone completely, but the head fits well and I'm able to happily pose him. Very happy with my hybrid.
