They want what they want and damn all your plans. I hadn't thought Wisp would look so good in a black wig and tried one on him on a whim and... he now wears a black wig. With curls no less when I'd had his previous wigs straight.
That's the truth!!! I am so glad I found out before I ordered another wig. So he is speaking to me now, I'm ready for the ride into his past and future. I'm holding on to my wallet until he is through with it all.
Huh, my Galileo is in their white resin, and I have a Gabriel head in their new normal, and I can say this: the white doesn't match my Ringdoll RGM-3 in normal at all. The white is very light, with a tiny hint of pink to it from my experience. The Gabriel head, however...his tone's closer to the likes of Resinsoul's normal pink and others in a similar tonal range. I was mainly going off what I had on hand for comparisons. I have a Dollstown head in Dollshe's Oriental, and it was similar in tone to my Gabriel head. Does the oriental vary between batches, or it different between the companies?
I think they vary a lot! The Gabriel head (above) is in new normal on the Dollshe pure oriental and they look like a 98% match, ignoring his blushing.
@xyuemoto - Granado white is a natural pinkish white - not stark paper white if that makes more sense. Ringdoll white is stark paper white. Granado normal is a natural pinkish hue, a little darker than the white. @SteamWitch - He looks super cute in the blue! @jade-eyed-cat - Ah. They must have changed their resins then. Dollshe resins are all very stable in colour, but Granado differs batch to batch. I have two different "tan" tones. One matches their site advertisement, the other (newer) one is much lighter. Hand is Granado white from 2015, body in Ringdoll normal from 2015. RingDoll normal vs Granado White by Liz, on Flickr
There is a slight variation between batches of Dollshe resin over the years. Or at least that's my experience. I bought a head and then about 3 years later a body for the head (both oriental) and the colours were ever so slightly off (maybe... 98.5% matched). Completely within easy blushing range but also easily noticeable even in my crud apartment lighting. The head stayed in the Dollshe box in a drawer the entire time before I got the body for him so any mellowing would be barest minimal.
@Quiet and Insane - Ok, thanks. I didn't pick the wrong colour then if white is definitely a white colour.
@Iron_Dog - Most curious. I got my two copper oriental guys about 2-3 years apart and they match perfectly, plus various other matching parts in raspberry fresh and pale tan over the years, I've not had an issue with the resins not matching. Most curious. @xyuemoto - It's a creamy white, but white nonetheless.
@Quiet and Insane I checked my records last night and I bought the parts 2 years apart (2016 & 2018) direct from Dollshe so it's not even like it was a super amount of time between them. I thought it was odd that there was a slight but noticeable difference since I'd heard Dollshe was very consistent in their colour. The head (and sleeping face plate) are lighter than the body, which if mellowing was the issue, the 2-year older heads should be darker than the newer body, right? It's also possible that one of them was from a slightly wonky batch colourwise. *shrugs* his face-up covers the slight discrepancy and it's not like it's glaringly obvious so I'm not bothered by it. And to remain on-topic to this thread, the tan of Granado is lovely. I like how rich and almost cinnamony it looks. Somebody in my local group has one of their chocolate boys and he's plenty gorgeous, too. I was relieved that the crowdfund Napoleon didn't tweak me but if they decided to do Galileo as a crowdfund in other sizes my wallet might be in some deep trouble because I have such a terrible weakness for tan/grey/coloured resin (5 tan, 11 grey and probably 12 different coloured dolls; yes, I'm aware I have an addiction).
AH! This is where you guys went! =^.^= I wasn't notified of the last few messages and I missed the thread switch. Galileo looks so delicate, I bet he was made in pair with the Zen body! I really wish to see pictures of those two together @Quiet and Insane Thank you for sharing that Granado white resin picture. I've been curious about it for a while.
... and I'll add a picture of Athanatos the Undying (Enoch) for celebrating this new thread! =^.^= Atha natos, The Undying by Annie Richer, on Flickr
@Lawrichai I'm pretty sure that the Galileo head is the same head featured on the current Zen body pictures. Greenteaslug's post number 27, and my post number 49 have links to additional pictures of the Zen body, with what is mostly likely the Galileo head.
OH NICE! Thank you very much @Cloudedmind I'm almost surprised to see all those pictures out on other sites before Granado revealed it on their own website.
@Iron_Dog - Most curious indeed.Anyway, I feel like if it's something that can be rectified with just a face up then it's not too bad. It's when the parts are a patchwork of colours that you know something has gone terribly wrong. Granado tan is gorgeous, and their bronze is really lovely too! Hopefully next year I can get my Neptune/Enoch their long awaited tan Embody. @Lawrichai - Hello again! Yes we've been hanging our here for a little bit now. Keep in mind this photo is from Granado (and Ringdoll's) resin batches from 2015, so this may no longer be quite as accurate. Athanatos is so gorgeous! I adore the sword and wings you made for him!!
Hey sorry to just randomly drop in here (as I do), but I was thinking about my Galileo head and what to do with him and his future massive body, and do you guys think he could pull off Superman?
He fits the impldoll idol I have that he’ll inherit when the current owner vacates XD it’s big so I was having trouble coming up someone who is Batman sized that he could be that’s that pretty. Superman fits that description!
@VampireAngel13 - Ohhhh! Well that works then! @Lawrichai - Oh wow! I didn't realise they made the swords. That's so cool!
Does anyone know how well Dollshe Oriental matches Granado normal? And has anyone ordered the Zen body?
Congrats! I'm thinking of ordering two of the bodies. Did Granado give you an estimate on wait times? I was checking the waiting room for wait times but it doesn't look like the list has been updated recently.
Nope, but on the website it says they'll ship within 50 days of the final payment. So I'm guessing the average wait time is about 5 months.
I unfortunately don't have photos, but the two resins don't match. Granado is a little more on the pinkish side, while the Dollshe resin is a little more yellowish.
Two Granados, one Dollshe, all hybrids so please ignore the bodies ... the Saint is a couple years old though, and has been blushed a bit to match the body he's on. The Granados are from the same batch and rather on the yellowish side (for their standards):
Thanks, good to know. Do you think blushing could hide the difference some? I have some LLT normal heads from 2011, which are a decent match to Dollshe Oriental, that I'm trying to get bodies for. I was interested in the Zen body for them. Nice, please post pictures when they arrive. I'll most likely have to hold off on getting one for now.
Would you happen to know how Granado normal compares to Dollzone normal yellow? The DZ normal yellow is peachier than the DS oriental I have.
Ack. 50 business days is about two and a half months. Was your estimate based on experience, assumption that people would pay on layaway, or just a math hiccup? I was planning to order a boy as a gift for someone whose birthday is at the end of April, but I'll have to go with another company if their wait times are really that long.
I believe Granado aren't a "ready to sell" type of company. They have an order period for each models and they start the production when it's over. Molding all those orders (and adding faceup options) takes time. Several months feels like a very long time, but believe me; Granado is worth the wait. The quality of their products makes up for it.
Whew, thanks! My only experience with them has been vinyl, so I was worried the resin might be a much longer wait. Proceeding as planned... @Lawrichai I know, thank you! Fortunately she's longing for Uriel, who is available now - so all good!
Chiming in with the reminder that 50 business days is a significantly longer or shorter period of time, depending on the time of year. I run into this constantly at work, since many legal deadlines are calculated, at least in part, in court days (days the state superior courts are open). 16 court days is usually about a month, but if there's state holidays or court closure days thrown in, it easily balloons up to almost 2 months
2-3 months isn't a bad wait time really. I was on the crazy train of a Dollshe wait for 1.5 years before throwing in the towel, cancelling my order and asking for my money back as apparently the prototype for the doll I'd ordered hadn't even been made yet. I'm still waiting on my Dream Valley body and it's been 5 months now but apparently they've also got a backlog of orders happening.
Pitfall of the hobby. I absolutely love LLT for straightforwardly letting the customers know after their last preorder that the wait would be around ten months - it saves so much unnecessary stress and frustration! If only all doll companies would do the same, instead of making unrealistic promises. (I'm talkin' to you, Supia.) Anyway, I've thought about it and decided to throw my hat into this ring, come what may. If the doll doesn't arrive in time, a nice birthday card featuring a promo pic of Uriel should keep my daughter in a state of happy anticipation until the arrival.
Oh, Granado male body is on my must-have list. Black Friday sale was very tempting, but I must be patient and wait for next year best offer (maybe some of Chinese holiday will bring great deal for me). I have Vindoll and it is still hard to decide between evoll or embody. Zen body has nice sculpting, but I am definitely on the muscle side. So it will be more than year to get body to me, but as Lawrichai posted, Granado is worth the wait. So I am very happy for every new photo.
Oops. It would be around 5 months for those that ordered layaway. It should be 2.5 months if you pay in full!
Reading this thread I feel the common confusion about skin colors... I wish Granado would upload a more recent picture of their skin color palette or even mention in the profile of their dolls what skin color is used in the pictures. It's really hard to choose the right one... T_T I just ordered a Lads Plus body in new normal, but I'm not sure if it's too dark... I want it to be like Dollshe Oriental, otherwise it won't match with the head I want to use. Does anyone have a picture of a doll ordered in 2019 in new normal? That would really be a help ... I don't know if I should change the skin color... Nevertheless... the bodies really look amazing, Zen is so beautiful - unfortunately too big to match my head, otherwise I'd probably also thought about buying this one... They look so natural and the jointed hands option is great! I love jointed hands, they bring so much life to all doll's personality and Granado's jointed hands look very elegant (not to round or thick) It's my fist time ordering at Granado, I heard they're very reliable and a high quality company. I really hope so, because that body cost more than a full doll at other companies...
I only noticed a change in the Syringa resin colour... which is now a taddy-bit more purplish than their original warm grey. Beside that I own mostly New Normal and Bronze, and I haven't noticed a change in the last years. Edit: Lighting isn't ideal, but you can check on three Granado resin colours here: Granado heads eyes tests Pluto and Charles are New Normal Enoch is Syringa and Andrew is Bronze. Only the Neptune head has some blush on it.
Liroshan is syringa and he's one of the Crowdfund 53cm Lucifer's from last year and he most definitely has a purple-ish tone to his grey. But considering that syringa is the family name for the lilac, it makes sense to me that there are purple tones to it.
I got my Jane head from the face up artist. She is currently borrowing a body. I hope some day to get her a body of her own. I name her Xena
Oh man, it's been so long since anyone posted here? Just dropping by to share a post-Valentine's photo of my hybrid Granado Michael and his companion. No Shadows Without Light 01 by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
It's been very quiet in here. I'm in the middle of moving so there are boxes EVERYWHERE. I tell you what though, I'm super glad I saved the large shipping boxes from my dolls because they've been super handy! Hopefully once I'm all set up I can take some nice new photos of Iwan, and start working on Jin'Yuu and Isilme's face ups. And despite the crazy moving, if all goes to plan and I can find a decent new job, I will finally get a body for Claudio and Jin'Yuu. I hope Crocus and the rest of the Granado team are ok over there.
Congrats on moving @Quiet and Insane! I know how handy those boxes can be when moving. I hope you have better lighting for indoor photos (than the bathroom) in your new house, lol. Also thankful your new house wasn't in a fire zone. I am waiting on a head and the new Zen jointed hands and a couple of the vinyl handsets for my vindolls but I'd rather wait so they can be safe. Though, I know living with fear and without a paycheck has to be pure hell, my best wishes for them too.
Thank you @SteamWitch! It's super exciting! So far it looks like we've got good lighting, but the side fences aren't up yet so whether that is still the case once the fences are up remains to be seen. We also don't know whether our side neighbour will be going double story or single story. Ah the joys of brand new housing estates. That said, we're still in a fire zone - the area we're in was old farmland, and ancient grassland, so uh, grassfires are still a big problem. Though all the rain over the last week has been wonderful. Oh yes. I can't imagine how the Chinese people must be feeling at the moment. Especially those with little children like Crocus. Poor things.
I'm thinking some families must be very stressed wondering how they'll buy food and pay rent on top of the worry about contracting the virus. It's a horrible situation that I hope gets better soon.
Somehow I missed that they had jointed hands again. Have they been available long? I need to buy more hands, and I'm having a hard time deciding on ones I want.
@VampireAngel13 The new ones are the Zen, thin fingers and hands I thought they'd be perfect for one of my guys. They still sell the regular jointed hands too you just have to pick them out in the drop box on the order page.
PLS is there knowledge about FreedomTeller jeans for EID body fitting to Granado Evol Male body? I like their jeans and jeans jacket but they are quite expensive so I appreciate any answer.
