Provenance:

New from Dollstown, through a group order with animemom. She gave me a chance to get this wonderful boy, and I'll be forever grateful.

Reason for choice:

I got ambushed by that face while browsing the DoA gallery - those mournful eyes, that grumpy M-shaped mouth and full lower lip. Mui was the handsomest 1/3 boy I'd ever seen, and to this day I haven't found another sculpt, not even An Jonghak's other boys, that looks remotely like him.

Best Points:

He's forever dour and I adore him for it. The old 15year boy body is lean, graceful, incredibly beautiful, and always looks relaxed and natural no matter what pose he's in. I'm in love with his non-mirrored hands.

Worst Points:

His hip joints/sockets are symmetric - I can't feel if his legs are oriented the right way, so they're sometimes tricky to pose. He's completely single-jointed - heavily wired to extend posing range, but he'll always be more limited and harder to pose than double-jointed dolls.

Spite & Malice, 9-10" chocolate brown faux fur

cold and dark - black, dark blue and brown, with a splash of gold or crimson

Maintenance: Elastic - 4.5mm diameter in arms & body. Joints sueded with pleather, fully wired with 2mm/12gauge steel.

IVSTINIANVS FALCO
Falco Justinian, angel of justice.

Dour, intuitive, laid-back.
His bird aspect is a falcon, and his season is high winter.

Second of the angels, he came to the sanctuary on foot, with a broken sword. He might have been called here, and not willingly -- but back then he'd forgotten who he was. He remembers now.
Laid-back, but with bouts of moody restlessness. He likes being outdoors and has a tendency to wander. We're not sure what drives him, but it may have something to do with the forgotten past.


Gael says,
For an angel of justice he's remarkably cavalier about boundaries. That's all I have to say about Justinian.


Hayk says,
I like Justinian. He's easy to be around. Puts up with me all the time. Every time I want to go outside he'll stop what he's doing and accompany me. He's devoted to Syr. Knows his way with a sword. Notices a lot of things. I've been ... surprised by how much. He's discreet though, doesn't say anything. Occasionally does with his body language. You need to watch carefully to see it. Yes, I watch. I think I should. Not everything is well there. I hope... I hope he thinks of me as a friend. I certainly think that. He came outside the bounds to help me get back to the house, that one time. You have to really care for another, to put aside care for yourself and go outside the bounds like that. I would do the same for him.


Syr says,
"You're thinking we'd been mates from the start, aren't you? Some of the others think that, they never thought to question it. No. We weren't a couple, and we didn't get along back then, when it was only the two of us, trying to find a sanctuary. He was ... different then. He seemed to be enfleshed for much longer than I, but I think something went wrong. There were things he didn't remember. I almost regretted reaching out, calling for help: what in the world came to me?
"It's fine now. He remembered who he is. So I chose to trust him. ...Yep, I choose to trust him now. Hehe, no, I don't mind that Justinian is outside so much. Vallant was the best thing that happened to him. I'm glad they're friends, it makes me happy to see them hanging out. They need to stay good for each other. They must."
