It would have to be my Nabee, since she is a limited set. I don't quite remember her exact price, but it was below 800 USD. Interesting enough, my standard Akando comes a very close second, that's the price of inflation. -_-
My most expensive doll that I've had to pay for would have to be my first doll, Morgan. He's a CP El and stands at 640.00. However, after the initial price comes all the modding that was done to him and all the customizing. However, the most expensive doll that I own that I could sell would have to be Kyotenshi Shiratori by Volks, the new white skinned renewal version. I could sell him for about 1000$.
My most expensive Doll would have to be my Volks DD SABER, I bought her from a seller on eBay (since I couldn't buy it from Volks anymore), can't remember exact price, but with shipping, I think it came to about $2200.00USD (it also came with 2 extra limited outfits - Maid costume, light-brown casual dress-set with sandals, and Large bust part, + 1 pair of Black pumps). My second most expensive doll would be my SOOM Mecha-Angel DENEB, completely as you see her on the SOOM site with every option (Secret Promise outfit, face-up, body-brushing, body-blushing, normal skin, high-heeled parts... the whole lot). She costed me around $1200.00USD - Now I'm trying to find some way to buy/create 'Custom Angel Wings' (which would be fully articulated complete with feathers - just like real bird wings, but also detachable) I hope some one can steer me in the right direction here on DoA^_^
I only have one doll I just sold one though, and it was the most expensive by default, because it was an SD and the one I've kept is a MSD. Now I've purchased a tiny. I've put a lot of money in to the MSD because I bought her as a whole doll, then joined a split for a specific head, and then paid to have it dyed and faceup-ed, but what I spent is still no where near what some people have spent. I don't think I'll ever spend that much money on a doll. I've yet to see a sculpt I just absolutely have to have and no other will do. I'm not that attracted to limiteds either, since my doll and the one that will be arriving in the near future are based off of my pre-existing characters. Keiichi - Wings tutorial here. Hope it helps! http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?359486-Wing-help!
My most expensive doll will always be my Mecha Angel Sabik, Yuri. To bring him home with all the features I wanted cost about $800. I don't think I can spend that much again...!
My most expensive is an off-topic Tonner resin. She, her clothes, shoes and wigs were well over $1000. I don't regret a penny.
My fullset Benny. ^_^; The only option I didn't pick was the mobility joint and I wish I had, lol. I was very excited and a little nervous about the actual process. I love her!
I think my most expensive one would be my Soom Cuprit...but Lillith has a lot of custom clothes so she would be close second. Looking at Katie my devil hanna she also runs a close second as she is a limited, was sold out and second hand from MP, at 8inches od resin she was surprisingly expensive compared to some of my other bigger dolls.
My first doll had to be special so I went big on a DD Saber from Volks. Cost me $2600. She might be second if I can find a seller for Saber Alter DD.
my most expensive doll was an Asleep Eidolon COL which cost me $476.00 but i just ordered an IH jessica with custom faceup and blushing which has cost me $760.00...i never in a million years thought i would ever spend that much on a doll....but i know she will be worth every penny and i did save for 8 months
My most expensive doll so far cost $395. He is a Fairyland LittleFee El Elf. I know that's not the most expensive doll out there, but it's a lot of money for me and I'm just kind of getting into collecting them. He was so worth it though. He is gorgeous!!!
I haven't bought one yet but since my income isn't to large, I was thinking around 200~300 maybe? It seems alot to me, but...I'm just some poor college student. XD
At the moment, my most expensive is my Fullset Ringdoll Ryan (650 all up+ 20 on his 'steampunk' eye + extras) but he'll probably soon be outstripped by my Buddydoll Raphael (480 + clothes + faceup + wig + extras) but that's mostly because I spent about $50 on semi-precious stones to thread through his wig, and time-wise he's definetly the most 'expensive'. But then again, I have a Soom Epidos on his way - who knows what the market value for him will be in a year or so.
Definitely my Dollshe Louis DoBermann fullset and he probably will always be. I am his second owner, though I feel like his first. He came to me like he was sent straight from Tensiya. Factory Fresh for sure. I won't even get into the dollar amount, to protect my sanity or more so insanity. But I love him to bits and my hard work paid off.
My most expensive doll is Finoa, my Limited Fullset Volks Ruby in Ebony skin. She was $1,200 USD. I told myself that I would never spend over $500 for a doll. And now the only doll that I own that's under $500 is my Ante who was $300.
s-s-s-sarrrd...>X U he has the original Soom face up and body blushing,...but oddly enough after having him for more than a year, and slowly getting into modding and stuff, i am not liking that blank Soom face up. i need to wipe it and do something more unique with it. he was quite expensive, but i am fond of him...and i also figure hey, if i spent all that money on him, he better get some EXERCISE, so he is one of the dolls i like to bring with me to meets. ironic. the costliest doll is one of my cuddly, dreamboat companions 8 C
An update to my answer from a year earlier here. Either my Amber or my Chrom... Buying everything on the MP well after their original release put them at about $1100 each I think. I'm still a little horrified at the cost!
My most expensive doll title is a tie between my SD16 Ami Ayase and SD16 Madoka. Both were $1600.00. However, I have a Volks SD10 Shinku on layaway and she will blow all my other dolls out of the water in terms of price being twice as expensive!!!
Hi Korrin, You have a point about expensive dolls, and though it is entirely up to each individual - there is a limit each person would be willing to pay - guess it depends on the degree of obsessiveness i.e. how badly you want the doll, that you've found, and also if your bank balance can afford it.^_^ Thanks for the thread, it was very helpful and resourceful - Daiiki from Holland has a thread about on a similar topic but more ambtious design^_^ Hi ZaPpA_721, The only seller I know who is selling the Volks Saber Alter DD (brand new) is 'toyofspark' from HongKong [on eBay] but you'll be shocked at the asking price - $12000.00 USD - (this doesn't include shipping & handling charges yet)
My most expensive doll was my Elfdoll Soah at $550. Because she's my most expensive I find her the most nerve-raking to play with.
My most expensive doll was my first SD Angell-Studio Pink Cinderella in white skin. She cost $1100 with her default outfit, but she's still my favourite out of my 3 kids!
The price will be even worse for anyone living in countries with customs charges! Next year, VAT goes up in the UK to 20%. And that's before duty is added. The tax on that doll would be well over £2000 or $3000. Which brings the total price up to over £10,000 or $15,000!!
Most expensive doll would be my fullset Galena I bought from Soom. Still love her, though I changed her entire look xD. Most money spent on one doll would be my Dasha. She has 11 Dollheart sets. She has more clothing then me T___T.
Not counting clothes or accessories; just straight up doll-prices, my most expensive has to be Belle, my Unoa B-El girl. I spent $830 odd dollars on her after shipping. I paid her via layaway, so I really didn't feel the hit, and it still doesn't really seem to me like I -did- spend that much on her, but I did. She's probably going to stay my most expensive unless I can some how manage to get my hands on a Volks Suiseiseki or Souseiseki, but I rarely see those without layaway options, and that's the only way I could ever dream of affording her.
I really hate talking about doll prices, it makes me feel as if I'm bragging about how much I can or can't spend on a doll. Does that sound weird? As an exception, though, I'm commenting here. My Phobos (Luts Regen LE) fullset with full painting but no option parts costed me $1024. Only doll I've ever bought on layaway, because I felt guilty at spending so much in a doll at once...
Doesn't sound weird to me; I'm the same. That's why I didn't mention the prices, I just said which of my dolls was my most expensive boy. I don't like saying numbers, because it could so easily be interpreted as "mine is better than yooouuurs".
I'm saving for my first doll, I I intend it to be my most expensive; 290$ is a bit hefty for me. ^___^; I know people spend a lot in this hobby (I've already spent more than I care to think about on my little obitsus) but... Yeah, a bit too much for my budget. I intend in a few years to get another one, but my Dollzone Xi Aleister, I expect, will remain my most expensive. Normally, I wouldn't even CONSIDER a doll that expensive, but once I saw her, I HAD to save for her. EDIT: OMG some of you guys~! 1200$ on a doll!! XD And I thought 300$ was a lot~! XDXDXD EDIT AGAIN: Well.. I never got the DZ Aleister, but you can see from my signature that I ended up being more flexible than I expected. >_> Rofl
Well its a tie between my SD10 School C or my SD13 f-17, my school c was probaly around $800 or so not counting the morbiddolls face-up and then my f-17 was around $800 too..but he has a face up that cost me $150 from tasha neko, so while I saved money buying both dolls in peices on the market and yahoo japan...the extras get ya. >.< Ive not paid over $1000 for one yet but its not "out of my budget" so to speak. ^^; Id just perfer not to.
Most expensive so far is my Soom Chrom, I bought him second hand for about $1100 (including shipping and wig and eyes from elsewhere). But I think I'll wind up buying more expensive ones with dolls I want being out of stock limiteds. This hobby truly has a grip on many wallets XD
My most expensive doll would be my fullset Dolpa 20 Volks Kurumi. I bought her from the market place in perfect and in new condition. She is my dream doll and after seeing some other prices for just her head while shopping around, I think I got her at a decent price.
A Little Fee by Fairyland which was around the $500 mark when all was said & done. I'm so proud of her though, she is definitely a cutie & an adorable size.
the most expensive doll I've had is Latidoll Yellow line Limited Elf Lea, which came as full set and costed 845$ including shipping! I think she is worth it and has seen her for 1000+ $, so I still assume it was a good deal for me paying over 500$ was a miracle but I did it and I'm totally happy..
I have only two dolls at the moment. The most expensive is Cloud because I bought him new. My Galahad is a second hand doll.
SOOM Heliot with wig, eyes and clothing straight from the company. I'd be reluctant to spend that much on a doll again, though.
OOAK Soom Amber (http://storage.canalblog.com/03/91/762097/57258555.jpg) for 800€. I had never tough I'll spend more than I've spend for my Lotus Near before to see her. ^^"
My most expensive kid was my Dollti Woo Yan. I spent $1200 on him over the course of a 5 or 6 month layaway becuase the person I bought him from was amazing. The last Woo Yan I saw go up for sale sold for around $1700 and that was well over a year ago! Now the company is out of business and the Woo Yan was a very limited run so I'd hate to see what he'd go for these days. Makes me glad I got him earlier! Haha. A friend of mine purchased the same kiddo when he'd FIRST come out for his original retail which was somewhere between 500-700. I still curse her. :P lol.
I bought a SOOM MD Vesuvia, second-hand, two years after her release. No outfit/wig/eyes, but she did come with the scorpion torso, long nail hands (which are UNBELIEVABLY gorgeous omg), temptation heels, and horns. Looking at the total cost, I'm still ready to have a heart attack. But I found a seller willing to do a long layaway, so...broken up into six payments, it wasn't a horrible strain on my "I'm spending HOW MUCH?!" reaction. Still, NEVER AGAIN. Vesuvia was a Grail doll, and I'm just glad to finally have her home.
Don't know if I can add him (because he isn't strictly speaking on-topic... yet), but my home-made doll is quickly becoming my most expensive boy of all. Who knew that silicone and resin was THAT costly! With all the money I spend on him, I could've bought three or four other dolls easily.
$1450 for my fullset SOOM MD Euclase on the aftermarket 2 years after its release. There was also a lot of frustration with the purchase too.... but it was totally worth it. Money and Frustration... my boy so much.
I think it's gonna me my Oasis Doll: Yaoyue... Over 500 dollars for the doll, face-up and shipping: 590~ Then there is the wig, eyes, clothing which I'm predicting is going to be roughly another 55+ dollars and not to mention accessories like a wig cap, face up protector and a travel case. So all and all I'm looking at or over 700 dollars.
I think... my Shaelock was most expensive. Leeke Head 98€+Shipping (10€)+Faceup(30€)+Plus shipping (20€) =158€ PLUS the Body.... Body&shipping 423€ Makes the whole amount of 581€ which are around 725$ ... I fear that wasn't the highest amount of money that could be spent on a dollie for me...;_;
I think the most expensive was the Unoa Lusis I won on YJ a few years ago. Final price ended up being around $800.00. However, when I decided to sell her, she sold on eBay for over $1900.00. I know! I couldn't believe it, either! Az
I would have to say my DollSoom Beryl full set 2nd hand caust 1800.00 Then my DOD Limited Kalix & Limited Delphine just under 2000.00 after getting with everything and shipping and removing the seem's and fixing my Delphine as the left leg was casted wrong and the mold split and shifted but she is fixed now
So far I think that the tan doll from DollZone will be more expensive then any other I've looked at. I'm only saving up for one but doing research on building my 'doll family', I'm starting with the most expensive and moving down to the least expensive.
I had no problem spending the money for my tania. My husband on the other hand... was NOT happy ;P He still isn't. He says I HATE YOUR DOLL AND SHES NOT EVEN HERE YET!! He's just mad that I called him out on spending 2000$ on something he threw away a year later. Hehe.
My most expensive doll is my Soom - Beryl - Never Ending Dream. She cost me $1090. She is a Limited Edition Monthly Doll from 2008, and you cant get her from Soom anymore. So I'm glad I won the auction.
I would say my most expensive doll was a OV Dollshe doll, but I was able to sell him for more then I paid so rare as that is, at least not a loss like all the others.
I've purchased several off-topic BJD's on the secondary market which really put me over the edge but I wanted them and glad I was even able to purchase them so they were worth it to me. Ha!! Someone said it best, there is no such thing as a cheap BJD. When you think about it, the term expensive really means different things to different people.
My Sard was "only" about $950, but he's still the most expensive thing I've bought in recent memory. He cost more than my computer! I hope I never fall for another doll that pricey, but I'm terribly glad to have him.
