Was such a great surprise I was so giddy to get him in the mail. Only had phone camera since my actual camera I don't bring with me to my college campus.
My first picture of Lonnie. (the other dolls I own are officially not ABJD, so won't post pictures of them here)
The first picture of my first doll was this one (those eyes never want to let in enough light :< ) And the first of my second doll, nothing that fancy. Taken while I was unboxing her. :3
My gosh, my first picture of my boy was absolutely awful. :') The wig I bought for him turned out to be awful, and the eyes that they have him as defaults were terrible. It was so sad, but he's evolved since this awful picture! My girl had a little more finesse in her first picture when she came home, and brought my boy a new wig along with her! The outfits were godawful, but I was so happy she was home!
That's the first photo of Yoko (now waiting to be reincarnated in another doll) And this it's the first of Emma (Also in the process of conversion, no more larger dolls for me U^^)
It was a bit over 2 years after Ayleen arrived that I started taking any pictures, I had to figure out her image and make her presentable, and was busy with non-bjd things. Here's one from the very first photoshoot: Ayleen: hello... by helgie, on Flickr
This was the very first webcam pic of Feather back in February 2011. She's ten years old on the 15th! Yuuki, my Pink Princess by Emily, on Flickr
I really had to go looking through the Archives to find any photos of my first girl. After many computer transfers and moves, I've tragically got a scant few from that time that are findable. I'm not even sure which was the first to be honest, so I'm just going to go with this one: Wow, all the way back from 2008. It's been a while
Never thought I would found the box opening photos until I cleaned up my mailbox today. I have the habit to transfer files using emails between different devices so this photo has been sitting quietly in my sent folder for more than three years. And yes, my roommates and I had a small party for his arrival.
I didn't have my camera or a cell phone at the con where Wiishu came to live with me (Thank you, Momma-D) but that night, at his uncle David's house, I recorded his "box opening" wherein my big black Eushu was not about to be upstaged. If you will forgive me, I'm going to do something a little different, because going back and looking at the photos in the actual order they were taken reminded me just how magical the moment was. This was the first photo, taken right after I opened the lid. The second, taken when I put his wig on. (Shu was in on the entire procedure) (Edit: Wiishu told me, when we were posting these on his FB page, that he was holding very very still, being afraid the "panfer" was going to eat him. It wasn't til I picked him up that he felt safe enough to say anything.) and three: the third and first posed pic...when I knew I had something very special. I just picked him up, walked into the adjacent room...and he "begged" to be put down amidst these sweet creatures, made by David's daughter. from that moment on, I've never picked him up that he hasn't had something to "say" about the world. I've got other dolls, but none of them have that special quality.

My photography skills haven't evolved much, but thankfully my dolls have. My sweet Bobobie Apollo looking pale and sad 2015 (I think everyone has this Ramones shirt)
Here’s Hika right after I got him dressed in his default outfit. He was much more yellow before I got to work on trying to fix it a bit without removing his face up ^^;
I still love this thread so much. I don't think I've ever posted this photo anywhere before? The first one I took of Len after I got back to my friend's house following a full day doll meet where I adopted him off the sale table just before we left. xD (2012!) He was as yellow as a banana and it had me giggling so much that the sticker also matched his eyes. lol Poor boy had been poked and prodded all day because of his 'full operation' body. I still love this boy so so much! ♥
@Akai Okami Is that the legendary "press papilla good feel" Nobility Doll body? After a decade and several computer changes, I no longer have my first pictures of Magome (Dollmore Liebe Klum), but she used to be blonde Her wigs also got stolen from my first share house...I now vet my housemates much more closely! Magome's resurrection, my first attempt at sewing in years and the beginning of my deep dive into BJDs: Spoiler: More doll first photos Marin, Volks SDC Toki/MSD girl hybrid: Lys, Volks Isao Nanjo 1st:
@castironteapot It certainly is! Button nipples and all. lol And another so I'm not just replying...This is Miki's first photo (in 2009!), showing his glorious body blushing I only got to enjoy for like 10 mins before I had to strip it due to finding frass all up inside him. But I know I've shared that horror story elsewhere. lol And again, still love this boy so much! (and he has new blushing now that's even better~)
Well you see... Spoiler Cockroaches love to get into and hide in tight dark spaces. At some point in this doll's life before he came to me, he was stored in a place that had a large roach infestation, and his poor body was surely not the only thing affected. The doll had supposedly been in storage for some time, so it's hard to say when or were he picked up the ick before coming to me. I cleaned him and treated my house and fumigated his box...it was a whole thing. xD Good times. I have endless 'first photos' I'm pretty sure. Say hi to Momoiro! Fresh from Japan!
