Dolls I own: * Rowan - I originally wanted to name him Rin, but Rowan just kinda happened. XD It definitely fits him better. It means red, and is the name of a shrub in the rose family. I intended for him to be a readhead. * Poppy - another redhead name. I think I'm going to stick with the ginger wig for her, and get her a freckly faceup someday. On the way: * [Migidoll Ryu] - I'm still thinking of a name, but so far I like Rhydian, Rogan, Sorrel, Harkin...
My dolls names are very strange happened. Faith - when I paid money for it, that night I saw him and called his name. Ilar - could not think of a name, he's an angel. And then suddenly remembered the name of a character from a book. Perfect fit for my angel. Sunny - red sun otherwise you will not name Arseny - the name was given by the husband, who gave me a guy for my birthday. Sony - also a gift from her husband on holiday. So I was allowed to call the guy. IRBIS Thorne Looked at him when I received the package and in my head I have this name. I think it is very suitable guard and defender. Horn - the highest and most rigorous of my dollshe guys. He came the sonorous name.
I just renamed my girl and picked out names for two future dolls! MNF Ryeon - Iris - Named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow because her style is very colourful (Future) Littlefee Luna - Diana - Named after the Roman goddess of the moon, because of the sculpt name (Future) Sugarble Juniper - Lilith - From the biblical name, meaning Night Monster, because she's a little devil girl
dolls currently home destry hart (doll love chi)- war horse heart. dream hart (doll love chi) - dream heart aria kilduff (doll love wenwen)- "melody" "son of the black haired man" ansel kilduff (dollzone megi)- "god" "son of the black haired man" jinx (kid delf yuz)- "spell" purchasing soon possible name: tai kristopher "T.K" durin (illusion spirit zhu jin)- "great" "bearer of Christ" "a mythical dwarf" names that will be used antonio romano rodriguez, zacarias inocencio ismael and melchor oscar nicodemo montague (kid delf bory triplets) - "Worthy of Praise" "From Rome" "Son of Rodrigo" "Pointed hill", "Remembered by God" "Innocent" "God Listens" "Pointed Hill" and "King City" "Divine Spear" "Victory of the People" "Pointed Hill" leilani king (kid delf aru)- "royal child" raziel (doll chateau matthew) - the angel from TMI/TID inti (need to find a good sculpt in tan) - incan sun god motya ilya luka "milk" konstaninov (I need a dreamy head sculpt that looks like jamie campbell bower) - "Gift of Yahweh" "My God is Yahweh" "From Lucania" his surname has no known meaning nahash (possibly a MSDoll Drayton if I ever find one or a Sensitive) - "snake"
高橋 モクバ - Takahashi Mokuba Mokuba was my first doll, at the time I watched a show called Yugioh...so her first name was taken from a character in the show, and her last from the creator's surname. I regret nothing. Kouriel Kouriel was given his name by his mentor. So, to understand this a little better you first need to know his given name, which is Stiabhan Ourick Braith (Initials totally, mostly unitentional). Anyway, the "ouri" in his name is taken from Ouroboros, as well as his middle name. The "iel" or just "el" was taken from his mentor's surname, which is Thiel. The intented name was Ouriel, but Kouri complained about it. His mentor then added the "K" after the K rune because there is a poem that reads "The torch is known to every living man by its pale, bright flame; it always burns where princes sit within." To Varric, this poem had a lot of meaning towards Kouriel. Both because of his abilities, but also because before he lost his memory he was a prince. An interesting side note though, before I reeeally fleshed out his character, his name was Koriel. I often used versions of him in D&D games. At one point a DM told me I couldn't use the name Koriel because it was some god, so I used Kouriel. Ended up liking that spelling much better in the end. Estalia Dimitru Estalia is a nation in Warhammer...I thought it'd make a pretty name. Her surname is just an average Romanian surname. 空 - Sora In Japanese Sora means sky, but it can also mean void or empty. Sora was born with heterochromia, one eye being blue and the other gray. So his name is a reflection of this in a way. Akai Ito Akai is Fate, and watches over the fate of mortals. Whilst making his character I decided that he was blind and could only see the threads of fate and fate auras. So I jokingly mentioned that I should name him Akai Ito even though he isn't Japanese...and it stuck. Nemo Nemo has had a lot of names over the years I've owned her, none of which have stuck. She is adorable, and everything but I always think about selling her. After awhile I just gave her the name Nemo because in Latin it means "no one". Oleifr Sægbahn ...well, Oleifr is just the Norwegian spelling of Oliver, so that really isn't anything amazing seeing as he is Norwegian. His surname is an anagram for "bang Ashe", however...and It's an inside joke. XD;;
Illuka and Eloise (havent decided on a scuplt for her yet though) I liked the sound of both of them - they kinda just popped into my head. When I looked up the meaning for Illuka it said something about it meaning 'near the sea' when it's spelled with only 1 L and I really like that.
I only have one doll and her name is Camille. My friend Marie suggested it and shortly after moved away. I adore her and I thought the name was just as sweet as my girl. Makes me think of my friend every time I think of her name.
The McAffee family are siblings. Their family is Irish. I created a family history and story for them, complete with detailed family tree. Genesis Gabriel McAffee - is named for my favorite character from FFVII game (my avatar). His middle name is the name of his father in my story. Misora Athena McAffee "Mia" - I kept the name she came with but shortened it to Mia which is my niece's name. Athena is the name of my cousin and I love that name. Athena is also the Greek goddess of arts and literature. Russell Rex McAffee "Rusty" - the name Russell is an old family name and also the maiden name of my best friend Cory. I call him Rusty for short because he has red hair (as do all the dolls in the McAffee family). His middle name, Rex, is the name he came with and I liked it. Other dolls: Rebecca "Becca" Maude Crownrich – she is the girlfriend of Genesis. She came with the name Becca and it suits her, so I kept it as a shortened version of the name Rebecca, which I've always loved. Her middle name is the name of my maternal grandmother, and her last name is an old family name. Edmund Percy Crownrich - is Becca's brother. He came with the name Edmund, which is a coincidence, because the name of the hero in a book I wrote many years ago was Edmund, and I have always felt it was a very heroic and brave name. His middle name is the name of my grandfather. Amerika Henrietta King - she lives in New Orleans and is an artist. Her ancestor was a pirate based in Jamaica. Her parents still live in Jamaica. I have family roots in New Orleans and my mom was an artist who grew up there. My mom died several years ago, so this is an homage to her memory. The last name of King is an homage to Martin Luther King, who my mom greatly admired.
Amelia (Mia)- I lust rally liked the name and I love the nickname Mia also I found out that Amelia means work/ to excel and as a ballerina she works really hard.
Orphee - She was based off a dungeons and dragon's character. Her name originally came from the character Lyra Orphee from Saint Seiya. Tobias Silvermoon - He's named after my Vampire the Masquerade Malkavian. Tobias came from Toby in the movie Labyrinth. Originally he was going to be based off of Toby, and believe he was that same Toby, but his backstory changed due to the fact that it just didn't fit the Vampire the Masquerade setting. The last name comes from the bloodline of Malkavians called "Knights of the moon"
"Harang Jin" His name comes from a combination of Chinese characters but read in Korean style. It means "Son of water" and it was because his first eyes were blue. Last name "Jin" was from a community that I used to spend my free time in junior high and high school. And I just thought the pronunciation is cool!
1. Isaac Forest Lynch - Isaac just seemed to fit his character. Forest because I love them. Lynch after Aidan Lynch, a quidditch player from Harry Potter. 2. Leeland Snow - Leeland is a name that I fell in love with when I heard it years ago, it's just beautiful. And Snow had meaning when I originally created his character and though it is not relevant now I can't make myself change it. 3. Luke - Always loved the name Soon to arrive|Subject to change: 4. Eddie Healy - Short for Edison or Eden, I haven't decided. Healy after Matt Healy from The 1975. 5. Ivy Bronx Mulaney - Ivy just 'cause. Bronx because New York. Mulaney after John Mulaney 6. Aspen Mulaney - Aspen is just beautiful, Mulaney same as above. 7. Lorenzo "Enzo" - Enzo after Enzo from The Vampire Diaries
Most recent arrival, Smultronblom ['smɵl'trɔn'blʊm]. She is from the same meadow fairy tribe as Thistledown and Tuva, and her big sister Jasmine is Tuva's bestie. "Smultron" means "wild strawberry" and "blom" means blossom or flower ("blomma").
I noticed that this was longer ago than I thought, and I haven't introduced the name of Tistelfjun's little sister, Tuva, who joined the family a while ago. Her name means "tuft" and is pronounced ['tʉ:va].
Naoya: His name means "honest". It's a sweet name for a sweet guy. Kana: This name means "powerful" and is a good fit for a girl that can get away with anything. Baios: Baios is the name of my original fire demon character. It doesn't have an actual meaning. Birch, Oak and Holly: My three sibling dolls, all named after trees. Bonita: Means "beautiful" because the doll is beautiful. Nineveh: The ancient capital of Assyria. I like the sound of it. Ratonhnkaké:ton: Means "a life that is scratched". This doll is based off of Connor Kenway from Assassin's Creed 3. Azizi: Means "precious". Nothing could be farther from the truth! Nuru: Means "light". Nuru is a smiling, adorable doll. Issa: Means "salvation" or "protection" which fits the role of a medicine man. Ismae: I named this doll after my favorite character in a series of books.

Bacon because some were referring to "Daish" as "Danish" when the sculpt first appeared. - Sera (Elfdoll Soah) Short for "Serendipitous" - I kind of bought her by accident, I put in the minimum bid fully expecting to be outbid, and nobody else bid. WOW interesting question. Several of my dolls go by their sculpt names as given by the manufacturer: Violet, Isar, Benny and Kyle from Iplehouse (all JIDs) Judith from Dollmore Most are names I gave them but relate to the sculpt names: My dancers Sean (Sheba) and Megan (Megu) from Parabox Mira (Mirwen and Shayla (Shushu) from Fairyland Charlie (Vito - Cior) and Jon (Soulkid Jonny) from Souldoll Lanelle (Lan) and Walter (Wang Zi) from Angel of Dream Don (Model doll boy Dion) from Luts Others named themselves. When my Volks SDC Gretel came out of her box she was fuming that Volks could "associate a sophisticated young lady like me with 'that ragamuffin'" and her boyfriend David (Iplehouse JID Ryan)
Asul: Was named Kumi when I first got him but given a new name. Name is made up. Xephanes: Made up name that just came to me.
1. Avalon - Mythology 2. Saffron - Means yellow 3. Izpapalotle - An Aztec Goddess 4. October - My favorite month 5. Isis - Egyptian Goddess 6. Odette - From the Swan Princess 7. Ishtar - Babylonian Goddess 8. Ophelia - My favorite Shakespeare character 9. Adamanthea - Variation of 'Amalthea' from the Last Unicorn On the way: 10. Tabula Rasa - Means "Blank Slate" 11. Alethea - Adamanthea's sister 12. Mirella - Combined two names I liked when I was little and many more planned.... I tend to name my dolls/characters from mythology, shakespeare, or fairy tales
Gavin~I named him after a person i greatly admire. also i just like the name. Rapheal~ it was actually the companies name for the sculpt, but every time i look at him nothing else suits him Cashmire~because he is very snooty, and very eccentric in his clothing that he wears. Garland~my little ice faun, i named him after the decoration on trees that resemble snow. Micah~ i liked the name and it suited him Neapolitan(Neo)~ he is my candy prince. and with some of h colors that he has on him he reminded me of neapolitan icecream. and also it sounds regal. Ichigo~ strawberry in Japanese, he has lovily pink skin and is the younger brother to Neo. Gareth~ named after a particular Fae is the twin brother to Gavin. also their names sound similar.
Koda - He's named after my ferret, who is named after a character from the movie "Brother Bear". When I was trying to think of a name for him, I was thinking about his personality, and I realized that it's similar to the way my ferret acts, and since I already love the name, I figured "why not?" I'm having such a hard time coming up with a name for my MNF Celine, but I know it will come to me eventually.
Sometimes I come up with a name right away. I knew what I wanted to name Evelyn before I ordered her, she just looks like an Evelyn to me. Other times I go to name sites and look for certain meanings that relate to the character, or else I ask my friends for suggestions.
Nadeko (撫子): she's named after Sengoku Nadeko from the Monogatari series (because she's awesome). I couldn't think of a name for her but I knew I wanted her name to end in "ko" so I named her after one of my favorite anime characters whose name ends in "ko". I think it suits her well and couldn't imagine her with any other name.
My dolls family: Kimera: no reason, but sounds good on her xD Cecia: modified version of chickpea in italian, because she's soooooo tiny Rei: strong character, named after sailor moon's Rei Kaname: he's bossy and sweet, named after vampire knight's Kaname Kira: kaname's noughty twin brother Yume: she's a fairy, her name means Dream Lizzy: named after Pride and Prejudice's Elizabeth I have 1 more doll but still struggling to find a perfect name >.<
Oh boy... there's a lot of them to roll through here. Incoming walls of text warning. Going by group: Songs of Chaos: Gabriel has just always been Gabriel. When the character first came to me, I just knew he was named Gabriel, and that's never changed. The "Moonshadow" part of his name comes from the story built up around him; he comes from a race of what basically amounts to nocturnal forest-dwelling elves, so all their surnames contain "shadow" in some form. They also have the ability to travel between worlds, but only as adults, so "Moonshadow" is a special surname given to those who grew up offworld. Maren, Esa, Cetewind, Instar, Prae, Arthen, and Jaie are also from the same race; their names are honestly just me fiddling around with sounds until I found things I liked. And their surnames follow the same pattern (I do currently have Cetewind and Instar with their father's surname, but the more I think about it, the more I think they should probably have their mother's instead.) Adet is from a different branch of the same race, but her half is a diurnal tropical/desert dwelling one, so their surnames contain "light" instead of "shadow," thus "Lightstar." I have more of them planned, but they aren't ordered yet. Maca is actually named after a real cat I used to have, "Macavity," after the thief from Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. That Macavity is male, but mine was female, so she got nicknamed "Maca," which then got adopted to the feline character in this story. "Shydekka" is just playing with sounds again. Liora, Rubiana, Cidmaferre, and Opiya's names are actually derived in a slightly different way; I use a modified Caesar Shift pattern on some word or words associated with them, and then pick together something that sounds appropriate from the results. "Liora" is shifted from "Mouse," the name of the character when I was a wee thing (she's my oldest OC). "Rubiana" was originally named "Stacy" when I created her, so her name's derived from that. "Opiya" is from "Arubi," her sculpt name, and "Cidmaferre" is a combination of "Becky," the sculpt name, and "Bunny," the sculpt look. Arioch (incoming) is named for and designed after the avatar of my computer, also named Arioch. Which is in turn named for Moorcock's Lord of Chaos, Arioch. I don't legitimately expect that most people can pronounce all of these. Nor the wishlisted ones (Krili, Iaian, Pollex, Dyane, Nusbarea, and Risvo; Vincent is pronounceable, at least). Children of Chaos: Luc is Gabriel as a child, with his original name, before he was renamed to Gabriel; it's short for Lucifer. I wanted a contrast, and was young when I decided this, and now it's stuck and I can't think of him as having any other name. Akane came from the color of her wig. I left much of her creation to chance, so I asked the person who made her wig to surprise me on colors, and got a vibrant red one. Thus, Akane. Elemental Spirits: Imaginos, Mystere, and Samedi all get their names from the Blue Oyster Cult album Imaginos. The two more who will join the group will also get names from there. After the Cave/AtC Chibis/City of Water: These ones are easy. They're dominantly character dolls. Edward, Alphonse, and Winry are from Fullmetal Alchemist, and thus named by Hiromu Arakawa. She kind of went for "Western" names for her characters, but I don't know what the deal is with Winry's. Jace is from Magic: the Gathering, and was named by someone there. I legitimately don't know what pattern they're following for character names. Nico is from the Percy Jackson series, and was therefore named by Rick Riordan. He's Mediterranean/Italian, so he gets a very Italian name. Razzy/Dani gets a little more special. Her real name is Danielle Phantom, from the Danny Phantom TV series (so named by whoever there created her), but within the RP these characters all got based around, she (like everyone) arrived with no memory of anything about herself, and was named "Razzy" by her teammates. She remembered her name not long after that, but the more she learned about herself, the less she wanted to be the same person she was before, so at the end of the game, she wanted to stay "Razzy." She also got semi-officially adopted by Ed (they'd always had a sibling-like relationship in-game), so with his permission she took on his last name, as well. Emilia is an OC based on FMA; she's intended to be from Aerugo, which is basically Italy as far as anyone can tell, so I went through Italian names until I found one that fit for her; I also followed the tendency for "meaningful" last names (not everyone has them, but a lot of characters in there do) to find "Curadi" for the surname of a doctor. Izzy is a drake summoned by Jace, who decided to stick around and be a fat housepet. His name comes from the characters' confusion at this. "So... is he our pet now?" There's kind of two more here, Edmund and Jaeson. Currently they sort of double-inhabit the largest Ed and Jace, though eventually they'll take over those bodies and Ed and Jace will get new ones. They're from an event in the RP, where everyone was taken over by a "resonant spirit," a person who'd lived in the distant history of the world they were on, who shared enough similarities with the person they took over to be drawn to their body. In the original game events, these two had their original names, but later on when discussion was going on about the event and implied things that weren't played out with it, they both got renamed to something "close but not quite." I liked the sound of Edmund, and I suppose the same was true for Jace's player on Jaeson. (And as a side note, Ed, Jace, and Nico, like Dani, were all active characters within the game, all got their real names back quickly, but Dani/Razzy was the only one who kept her "new" name. The rest didn't really care for the ones they'd gotten and shed them as quickly as they could. Also, Dani's player is the only one who's actually seen pictures of all these dolls, and thinks they're awesome.)
Berwyn is a Welsh name that means "white hair", and Berwyn's always been kind of based on the children's book The Rainbabies, who all have white hair, just as she does. Rosemary Peak is a witch, and it just seemed a good, wholesome, witchy name to me!
These are all my current OC's , I'm very big on name meanings and it's how I choose the names for my characters. So their name reflects their personality: Ayano Ningyo- Ayano is a Japanese name meaning 'my colour' or 'my design'. I thought it was perfect as she was my first OC (and she's Japanese). Ningyo is Japanese for doll . Jiro Ningyo- Jiro is a Japanese name meaning second son. Unfortunately this is the only meaning that doesn't match the character as he's the first born son of the family, but I just liked the name and it fit his sculpt (Luts Senior65 delf Dion) really well. I'm playing with the idea of the family having an unborn son, so he really is (technically) the second son. Hisoka Ningyo- Hisoka is a Japanese name meaning mysterious, shy or reserved. Saburo Ningyo- Saburo is a Japanese name meaning third son. Being the youngest he is very mischievous, silly and funny and very popular with the girls in his school. Ryu SaeRyun (Ren)- I find creating original Korean names very hard, so his name doesn't have a meaning as such. His nickname Ren is just a simplified version of his name. He also has another nickname, Rune which Haiiro and Cage call him as he's very good at decision making, and normally he knows the right thing to do almost immediately. ROE seon-hwa (Sun)- Seon-hwa is a different spelling of the name Sun-hwa which is where her nickname comes from. Her surname Roe means timid and is linked to the animal deer in English. Though in Korean it is deviated from the word ‘no’ which shows that people don’t make her do anything she doesn’t want to do. Though she is quite bold with her friends, she becomes timid and shy when around someone she likes or respects. She’s normally called Sun meaning obedience/virtue in Korean. Haiiro (Akimitsu Tsukino)- Japanese name. Akimitsu meaning ‘Autumn light’, and tsukino meaning ‘moon field’. Everyone except his parents calls him Haiiro meaning gray in Japanese as he finds his name silly. Though Hisoka thinks its cute, I haven’t found out if its his name he thinks is cute or the face he pulls when he calls him by his name. Hiromi Amemori- Japanese name. Hiromi meaning ‘generous beauty’ and Amemori meaning: Ame ‘rain’ Mori ‘forest’, so rain forest. People call her Hanako as a nickname which means ‘flower child’ as she’s obsessed with nature and pretty plants and flowers. Fujiko Hanamura- Japanese name. Fujiko meaning (fuji) wisteria (ko) child, Hanamura meaning flower village. She's sometimes called Fuji as a nickname by her twin sister Hotaru. Hotaru Hanamura- Japanese name. Hotaru meaning ‘firefly’ in Japanese. Fujiko calls Hotaru ‘Kiko’ because the meaning is her favourite flower; Chrysanthemum child. Kage Mizushima- Japanese name. Kage (meaning shadow)- That would be his name, but he would adapt it and make people call him Cage. Mizushima meaning (mizu) water (shima) island. His name means shadow as he's very unattached, dark and ended up drifting through life unnoticed before he met... and I am yet to find the name of Cage's saviour but he's going to be a extremely attractive, smart, charismatic (but doesn't know it) 'nerd'. Really kind and thoughtful, but surprisingly witty and clever he intrigues Cage immensely. Just think Yukio from Blue Exorcist . Wow! That's a long and detailed list! I still have a lot more to make up and work on, but Cage is my focus at the mo Writing it all out has made me realise how much I have .
Lucy- I like L names and it always sounded beautiful to me and it had to be a name I couldn't relate to a character or person I knew. (of course then the pink hair later reminded me of Lucy from Elfen Lied...) Rue-same rule as before. She was more tom-boyish in my head and so she needed a shorter name to me and the name just popped when I got her.
-Eudora (it means God's gift.) I mostly named her that because it's a very old and unusual name. Being that's she's a little girl vampire I felt it was appropriate.
Some names come easier than others, but in the end it's one of my favorite parts about bringing home a new doll! Here is my current crew with their names and meanings: -Amber: I kept her sculpt name because I loved everything about her, including the name. She's my grail! -Astraeus: His name means god of dusk. He represents the night sky. -Dorian: He is a mischievous psychic creature. The name fit him well. -Maurius: His twin is Mia. Apparently I made this name up, I was looking up names and I believe I was going for Marius but I like it. -Mia: Maurius' twin. Her name means beloved. -Tobias: Got the name from Divergent's Four, aka Tobias. Loved the name. It means goodness of God. -Darius: -Claude: Name for my gargoyle. He has claws (how original I know), and the name suits the big guy. -Mackenzie: Using as a boy name for my Phonolus who is a heavenly being. Means fair or favored one. He is so manly nobody would dare make fun on him. -Yuki: Means snow in Japanese. For my wintery boy. -Jethro: Kept the sculpt name, it means abundance. -Aberdeen: Origin is based around water. It is the name of my Quetzalcoatl doll. -Michael: For my vampire, name is shared by the archangel Michael and it is used out of irony. -Marshall: He is a character doll of Marshall Lee, from the genderbent version of Adventure Time. -Beelzemon: Another character doll from Digimon. -Alistair: Means defender of mankind. Worked well for my grey skin vampire Hyperon. -Billie: Name I gave an OC I created when I was 7. Ended up shelling him into a doll lol. Name means resolute protector and that is actually quite fitting!
Dolls I have: -Dasha (Bluefairy Emilie); wanted a Russian name for her and I happened to like that one. -Volka (Iplehouse Kyle); he's a wolf spirit so I asked my boyfriend for Russian words relating to wolves and he gave me "volk," hahah. Dolls I plan for: -Nikolai (BeYours Olive): it's another Russian what can I say (this time he's actually named after my boyfriend though) -Sonya (Supia Lina, tan); I just really like this name and I felt it would fit her sweet face. - ??? (LUTS Gloria); Sonya's wild/rebellious girlfriend. I have no idea what I want to name her.
Well, several of mine are still waiting on names, but here's a list of the ones who have names so far: Crow (Angel Region Ren): Named because I like crows (one of my favorite animals) and also because he needed a "non-human" name that could still maybe pass as a name. His character concept is some sort of otherworldly/eldritch being that plays at human, something like those angels with endless wings and eyes. So I thought of birds, and his colors are black and yellow... crows. Yeah. Eli (DollZone Raphael): I wanted him to have a Biblical name, but I couldn't commit to Elijah or Elias. So he's just Eli. Not even sure why I wanted a Biblical name anymore. Arion Elwood/Peregrine (Luts Centaur Bory): He needed some sort of fantasy name that evoked elves and centaurs. And since he came with a crown, he's also a prince, so I used the name I almost chose (Peregrine) as his royal name. So he's Prince Peregrine, given name Arion. Huxley and Jonah (Soom Cheshire Cats): I picked these names out of a name book before they arrived. Initially I was going to sell off the surprise head (Jonah), but when I didn't, I named him the name that was almost chosen for Huxley. The character for Huxley is sort of a stuffy alchemist type, so I thought that name fit. Jonah's more adventurous. Micah (Luts '13 Summer Event): Micah only got his name recently, and I'll be honest, it was almost entirely because I'd heard the name a lot at work and liked it. He happened to get his body and become a full doll around that time, so... there you have it. Grendel (Doll In Mind Galahad): When I read Beowulf for the first time, I for some reason imagined Grendel as this wolfish creature with lots of fur (in truth he's probably supposed to be a water monster or troll). So since my Grendel is a werewolf character, I named him that. Kazimir (Sweet Gale Cyril): Kaz is supposed to be an old-world vampire, so I wanted something that had that vaguely (maybe Eastern) European feel. I especially like the sounds in the name Kazimir, so that's what I went with. Murr (Doll Chateau Russell): I had a weird dream one time that was basically a cyberpunk version of the Arthurian myths. In it, there was this genetically engineered cat creature named Murr (it took the place of Merlin). DC Russell is probably a fox, but whatever. Bea (DC Beatrice): I thought Beatrice was a fitting enough name, but she's kind of an insect, so... Bea = bee? Not very creative on this one. Odette (Souldoll Liddell): Odette is one of my favorite girl names, and since I wasn't planning on getting very many girls, I wanted to be sure and use it. For me, the name evokes darker images (probably the Swan Lake connection), and since Odie was envisioned as a necromancer, it seemed fitting for her specifically. I also typically use the name for my ghost-types on Pokemon games, so it's got extra spookies associated with it. Selene (Dearmine Lupy): I took Selene to the zoo with me the day after she arrived. While I was there, I bought a crystal from the gift shop, a selenite crystal. Selenite gets its name from Selene, the moon, and with her cool-color faceup, I thought that seemed like a fitting enough name. None of my other dolls have names yet. I don't rush to name them, I kind of wait for the right name to show up. So for the remaining 5, that still hasn't happened.
I'm really amazed by the amount of creativity people put in their dolls' names! @vicemage I found your wall of text of great interest, especially because you made me know a new thing (the Caesar Shift) that I'd never thought to use for character's names (I limited myself to some mundane anagrams). Dahlia: She is based on a character of mine that originally was simply named "Dee Dee". At some point, I had the necessity to give her a "real name" and decided that "D. D." was for Dahlia Drusilla. Uliat: he is based on a D&D tiefling character played some years ago by my husband, and he kept the name. He is also named Usul, ("the pillar foundation" according to Frank Herbert's Dune.) Faye: she's also based on a D&D character (this time mine). I really like a lot the name Faye since my first vision of Cowboy Bebop, and I had two or three character named this way during the years. Asha: She was a total impulse buy and I hadn't a character for her, but while I was waiting for her to come home I had stuck in my minds for days the song "Brimful of Asha", so I named her after it. Caspar: Reference to Casper the ghost. His second name (Frederick) is a reference to his sculpt (Dollzone Freddy). Mian Mian: He keeps his sculpt's name. I'm currently saving for an Aimerai Virginia that is going to be Dahlia's sister, and she will be probably named Narcissa (shortened in Narc) to keep with the flowers theme.
Three of them -- Dave, Cecil, and Kiyo -- are fan dolls, so they don't count. As for the OCs... Katen -- He's actually kiiiiiiind of a fan doll, too. He's based on a fan interpretation of Kyouraku Shunsui's zanpakuto, from Bleach; Katen Kyokotsu (which translates roughly into 'flower-heaven bone of madness' according to Viz) is one of two twin zanpakuto. So Katen is the 'flower heaven' half, and his twin Kyokotsu, who lives at @ukelala's house, is the 'bone of madness' half. They are not identical twins by any stretch of the imagination, right down to being different molds (Katen is a CP Shiwoo; Kyokotsu is a DIM Lloyd). Lian -- This one actually started out as a D&D character...that was actually female. When I decided I wanted a Lu-wen I needed a character for him, so I genderswapped Lia who ended up becoming Lian. It's pronounced like Liam with an 'n' instead of an 'n' partially because I can't see the letters 'ian' in a name and not pronounce them EE-an, because that's my brother's name. Grey -- a MERP character of mine, and also the recipient of a genderswap. 'Grey' is not actually his real name, but his real name is a secret to the point where I actually do not know it. The name is very literal; everything about Grey is grey. Eyes, hair, clothing, everything grey. Thus, he goes by 'Grey'. It's spelled with an E because for some reason I prefer that over 'gray'. Jesyka -- a very old, very cherished RP character of mine; probably thirteen years old at this point. Yes, it's pronounced 'Jessica'. The spelling is, not even kidding, the result of a keysmash; I needed a name for this character so I just hit the keys and looked at what came out and 'Jesyka' was the closest thing to a real name out of what I'd produced. I frequently involved keysmashes in my RP names, because unique-snowflake was considered a good thing in those circles and so I'd just smush the keys, see what I came up with, and make a name out of it.
Oh, my names sound so... I don't know, overdone, but here goes Di- sometimes called Rina, is my original OC. She's been with me for a decade, in some form, but this is the first time she's had a name that wasn't just mine. She was actually supposed to be nameless, to signify that she was never treated as human (she was a literal force for a while.) midnight, her protector when she loses her powers, calls her Di, as an acronym for darkness incarnate. She picks the name Rina up when she says that when the apocalypse happens, she'll laugh. Rina-> ri-> rire (French, to laugh.) Shorter name origins (most of these people are dead and choose a name after death to reflect this. Morte/Tristan: one of my sadder backstories. His name is a very feminine form of dead (in French again.) This was done deliberately because it was pertinent to some of the issues he faces (things typically associated with being girl problems). Tristan -> triste-> sad. It's a warning that his backstory hurts even me to write. Famine, War, Death: horsemen (and woman) of the apocalypse. Cadere/Isabella: fall, Italian/ consecrated to God (that's a cruel irony, she dove out a church window at one point. I seem to like really telling names) Grim/William Dale- a pirate Named for his nature by his first mate. He kept it (symbolizing never really letting go)/a Dale is an obstacle. Will is his drive to overcome. Will came before Dale, just like he overcomes his family. Calypso/Ver/Virgil/verity- first is the name she's taken as a siren (a very powerful name. She won't be vulnerable)/short for verity. She used this nickname a lot in the first two years, and was fairly androgynous/she used this as a name when passing for a man to be a pirate. This worked for about 8 years/truth. Ironically, the truth got her killed, by someone she really trusted. Name irony is fun. Katherine: pure. She's a literal angel. Or was. She ended up dark. (Name irony game is strong) Montague John Druitt/Jack: a man who might have been Jack the Ripper--he is, in my version/as in Jack the Ripper. Frostbite/Jack- the name of the doodle that started the reaperverse/ as in Jack Frost. Thanatos- god of death. He was Greek, a couple thousand years ago, and somehow mistook atonement for being given godly powers. We all slow clap. The others are all pending renaming. Name irony: at least 4, characters:0
I don't have a lot of backstory relating to names, but this is what I do have: Shia: He arrived in early December, right after I'd spent most of November (NaNoWriMo) writing about a character named Shia. Not sure where the name came from, except maybe as a different spelling of Sia, an Asian-themed shop near where I live. He's not exactly the same character as the one I was writing about, but there are similarities... Terje Jegal/Jegal Tae Un (제갈대운): His father is Korean, his mother is Norwegian. His mother named him Terje (tehr-yay), but his father wanted him to have a fully-Korean name as well. (Two-syllable Korean surnames are super rare, but apparently they exist, hence Jegal XP ) Key: I have no idea. It just popped into my head one day, and I couldn't get rid of it. Wish: I originally wanted to call her Elizabeth, partly just because I like the name and partly because I have a sister whose name is often shortened to "Maggie Jo," so I wanted to have an Elizabeth/Beth, and eventually an Amy. But the name didn't fit her, so she sat around nameless for a while. I kept leaning toward W for some reason...then one day Wish popped into my head. =P Mikhail: Another "popped into my head one day" name. ^^; He's half Russian, half Japanese.
Felix Hammeberg - Was pretty much inspired by pewdiepie xDD Keith Hellborne - My name :P He's the kinda fantasy-version of me Todd Patrick - Just came to me Momo Noel - The name of the sculpt (momo) and his former name (Noel)
Kirin "Ikki" Harthorn - I was reading a VS when he arrived and the simple, childish name just stuck. As to Kirin, this was because he just resembled the character from my original story that much while Harthorn as a surname just popped into my head while watching him. I'm sure he just told me so that I wouldn't give him something silly. Aizec - this was a two month work. Evan -> Hale -> Edge-> (nameless) -> Aizec. I liked all the previous names but he just stared at me with the look that clearly said "NO". So I thought and thought, and stared at him until I found Aizec in some old notes of mine and it fit. I'm so happy the guy is finally happy, I was losing hope ;D
Flannerie Bainbridge - I was looking for a flowy, fiery sounding name fitting a red headed character. Then I remembered Flannery the fire gym leader from pokemon R/S/E and how I loved her name back in the day. I started using Flannerie instead of Flannery when in most mmorpgs the name Flannery would already be taken. As for her surname, I believe I found it using a name & origin site. It reminded me of banelings, a sort of ghostly underworld creature in a book I was reading, so I thought it was a pretty awesome surname for a demon family. This turned out long. Alphinaud & Alisaie Gardinier - Their name was taken from a pair of sibling NPC's in FFXIV: A realm reborn. Their surname was a random find on the same name&origin site I mentioned above. I... am not a very original person... Gardinier is a random french surname I thought sounded neet. Moriyama Fuyu - Moriyama means forest mountain / protecting mountain, and Fuyu is winter. He is born in January, and he is a bit of a wild child (And he was originally a werewolf, so..) so I thought it fitted. He is Japanese, mostly. 3/4th japanese, 1/4th irish. Robin Cherenkov - I like the name Robin, been wanting to use it for a girl for a long time. Also, she is russian and Robin Cherenkov sort of... floats of the tongue. I had no real reason for this name, at all, I just liked it and that was it. Deudonne Allender - I saw someone use Deudonne as a screen name on a now ancient forum I was on, and the name caught my attention. It was so pretty, and although I probably mangle it with my pronounciation, I love it. Allender is maybe an actual surname? I think I saw something similar on a name-origin site, and then decided to change it up to fit the high-fantasy rp setting this character originated on. Estellise Florentine - Estellise is from Tales of Vesperia, so although that Estel and my Estellise has nothing to do with eachother, it was just the most adorable flowery name and suited a tiny fairy-borrower type girl. Florentine was something I combined on the top of my head (Flora + valentine).
1. Tavra - cool name for a cool elf 2. Nesiris "Nessie" Lavellan - my inquisitor's name lmao 3. Kara - cool name for a cool alchemist 4. Ishmael - I'm on a Metal Gear Solid kick right now so... I had to
Mortimer (nice to see another one out there!) AKA "Doc" - Mortimer means "dead water" or "still water," depending on who you ask. His backstory involves murder at sea, and he's also sort of a sentient undead/zombie dude. I chose his last name ("Grimley") because I just thought it sounded spooky but in a goofy way. I like jokes. He is called Doc because he's a doctor. Leslie is a character from a video game, I don't know why his name was chosen. I have read that his full name is possibly inspired by the Alfred, Lord Tennyson quote "I must lose myself in action, lest I wither in despair" which is a nice thought but it may or may not be true. I would have liked this name anyway because I am amused by names that are complete sentences (Tom Waits, Norman Fell, George Burns, John Waters, Leslie Withers. It works, I swear) and I think Leslie is a charming name for a guy. John Doe is a fan interpretation of L from Death Note, he goes by "Leland" which may or may not be a pseudonym. Spoiler: Spoiler for decade-old series There is still some ambiguity about what his "real name" is meant to be, it was speculated in one of the novels that he was so detached from his own identity that he never knew what name was written into the Note that killed him. The actual name comes from the Stephen King character Leland Gaunt (Needful Things.) Ogden means "oak valley" but really I just like it because it's a frumpy-sounding old-timey name and it fits him. His last name is "Farrago" which is a word that means "a confused mixture" and is a synonym for "hodgepodge," he's an eclectic mix of weird religious beliefs, confusion and stark contradictions, so even though it's not strictly a name, it kind of sounds like one and it describes him a bit. B. George R. Bonham is a fan interpretation of another character from Death Note, Spoiler: Another spoiler from a decade-old series who is a serial killer who dresses and behaves (mostly) like an ersatz L. I'm a fan of the "character is obsessed with character, dresses and behaves as creepy messed up knockoff version of character" trope. It relates to the format of the character names in the novel, which are weird combinations of English nouns and adjectives that aren't actually names in any sense but have specific combinations of initials, so I had my own hypothesis about it which I won't go into, it's long winded fanboy junk. Bonham means "good man" which he is decidedly not, because again, I like jokes. Subjects P-01 and P-02 are practice heads who will eventually become full dolls with real names. "P" stands for "Proxy" because part of their purpose is for practicing techniques that will be used on other dolls.
Tapioca (but Tapi for short) - at the time I got her I was working in a cafe that served bubble tea...so I was drinking alooooot of boba and taste testing tapioca. It was a sort of joke-impulse, but she ended up really suiting it! I plan for my next doll to me named Serine. We recently learned how to read DNA in class, and serine is one of the amino acids. I thought it sounded like a really sweet name, so I'm hoping whichever sculpt I end up with will fit nicely.
My Frankenstein (who I'm sloooowly paying off) has a few potential characters (I totally jumped the gun when I saw one going for a grand and didn't even choose his character) 1) Ray- he's an oc from forever ago (I last wrote him in 8th grade). His character is an ex of DI's. He ended up undead (and under the control of an enemy of DI's.) I named him Ray after the character in the goosebumps book, Welcome to Deadhouse. There was also a sweet scene where she described Ray as 'like sunlight. Something warm, even to the cold and unfeeling. It was unnerving, really.' 2) Also from DI's universe (I think she's lonely and trying to claim the new doll) there's one world that's going experiments with other species to implant 'sunstones' and make an army. This was their prototype. His identification number was s-07, as the first 6 didn't work out so well. When he escapes, he goes under Sol, which is his number with the seven flipped. When he meets DI, he's a part of the revolution she has no choice but to fight for, and she calls him seven. Because I seem to like dark and light, sol also means 'sun'. 3) one way or another, she'll claim that character. She will. His third personality is DI's nemesis. She was created to fight for darkness, he was created to fight for light. She is content with her role, loves the inherent lack of emotion, and he does not. He wants nothing more than to feel, but it's all he can never have. Eventually, they end up in battle. He seemed to be dead. She just lost her powers. He wasn't dead. Where DI stands for Darkness Incarnate, he was LI--light. To him, it sounded like 'lie' so he picked up the name 'Lucien' (which means bright light) 4) the only option where DI doesn't get him is the one where he ends up as War, from my horsemen of the apocalypse.
My Leekeworld Ashley is named Pumpkin head, and i call her pumpkin, the reason is that she has a huge head 11ind
Celestine Lucia Larue (it was originally created in a name generator as Celestin Lucas Larue, but my character was changed to a girl and now its the feminine form of the name.)
Apollo: His full name is "Apollonius" because I wanted to give him a pretentious name to go with the "feel" of his fullset...but it was too effective, and now I'm embarrassed to say it out loud! So I just call him Apollo. Delwyn ("Del"): He's a cat-person, so I used the name of an old Log Horizon oc (who plays as /becomes the cat anthro species). I was just looking through my old name lists, and thought it'd be cute! His personality is pretty much the same, too. This is another one that's sorta embarrassing to say... Amriel ("Amri"/"Ri"): I felt like I had to give him some kind of angel name that started with A - It was one of those things where the doll is "telling" you something really strongly, I guess. I felt like Asriel was overdone, so I made a whole list of them and settled on this. I'm also kinda embarrassed saying this one out loud, too :'D Owen Ivanou: I got sick of being embarrassed every time I said my dolls' names! Actually, he's named after a character of mine, who in turn has a name influenced by Owen Pallett and the god/artist-insert "Owen" from his "Heartland" album. The character believes he's a god, but that actually developed independently of his name, and he otherwise has no other parallels to Heartland's Owen.
Wow! I've really enjoyed reading through this thread. Here are mine: Roshald (my Dollzone Tintan) is sort of inspired by a Hermann Hesse novel, Rosshalde. The whole time I read the book (when I was much younger), and not being familiar with German pronunciations, I said it wrongly in my head. So I spelled her name how I pronounced it, and even though I knew by then it was incorrect, it just sounded like her. My girl's name is pronounced rosh-AWLD Iris (my Volks old f-12) is another name I took from a short story by Hermann Hesse, Iris. Melody Lane (my CP/Luts Juri '06) is named after a very important street to me in my childhood. Nicolas (my CP/Luts El) was inspired by Nicolas de Lenfent, from Anne Rice's vampire chronicles. Though my Nicolas doesn't share the depressive personality, and is not a vampire, he shares the very delicate, and innocent feel of Anne Rice's character. And the moments between Nicolas and Lestat in the book are my very favorites, especially before he became a vampire. Gabriel (my Dollzone Wing-1) Though he's not one, I have an angel fixation. Hence the name. Issa (my Volks Link) is named after one of my favorite Japanese poets, an old, poor haiku master, Kobayashi Issa. Issa was his pen name, meaning "cup of tea". Isaac (my B&G Sapphira), is a very left-brained, sciency sort. I knew who he was the instant I saw him, even though I had no previously planned back story, or personality profile for him at all. So I named him after Isaac Newton. October (my Volks msd f-09). October is hands-down my favorite month of the year. With it comes all sorts of warm, fuzzy fall feelings, and my dark fantasy side loves all that is halloween. And I got him in October. Polly (my Notdoll Lab Aletheia) and Tomoko (my Volks old f-15) are my only two that I felt told me their names. So I had no say in the matter. My incoming Dollzone Benjamin will be named either Rainer (for the poet Rainer Maria Rilke), or Blixa (for the musician Blixa Bargeld, because of Benjamin's "hammer arm", and the whole German industrial sound. Haha!) We'll see what he thinks when he gets here.
I never thought I'd ever want a mini, but my resolve is weakened by big goofy noses, in the time since this was posted I also ended up with a Benjamin on order. His name is "Ignatius" or "Iggy" and he's been nicknamed "Boo." He's a little spooky guy who is the son of a deity that appeared in some of Thomas Ligotti's weird fiction. As for the name, well, I asked my friend to name him and that suggestion stuck, it's funny because it's so pretentious for such a pitiful creature I love the Blixa Bargeld idea with regard to the hammer arm, that's clever. I hope he chooses that name congrats, he's awesome.
This is fun! C: Current dolls: 1. Cyrus Elliot Daye - Originally wanted a Victorian name that also sounded modern. 2. Reed - Named after Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds but spelled Reed because she's music themed. 3. Cilia - My sister named her. 4. Yuki Onna - Named because she's a snow witch (Translate to Snow Woman if you didn't know. ) 5. Elliot Tobias Graham - Really liked the name Elliot and Tobias. 6. Lawrence Edward Grey - Named because I liked the Lorence name for his sculpt, and wanted a Victorian/Edwardian name since he's a knight. I also love Earl Grey tea! 7. Erin Katerina Monroe - Dad picked first name, middle name is from Vampire Diaries, I liked how they said Katherine, last name is an irish surname. Wanted an irish sounding name. 8. Ciel Phantomhive - Was supposed to be a bjd of Ciel. 9. Modlin Odele Ashford - Was a village in Warsaw Polond (Modlin), group of dolls are named after cities/towns. Wanted to nickname her Mo or Momo. 10. Akane - Means deep red, wanted to collect Jun Planning AI dolls and wanted to give them all Japanese names. (For theme.) Planned dolls: 1. Katherine Adella Summers - Really liked the name Katherine. 2. Cairo (unknown middle ) Ashford - City in Egypt, wanted a punkish sounding name. 3. London (unknown middle ) Ashford - Always wanted to name a character London. 4. Atticus Fields - Wanted a really geeky/hipster name to contrast with his career of being a model. 5. Prince Adrian Michael DeLune - Really liked the name Adrian, was originally going to be longer and be: Luka Adrian Michael DeLune, but I named my cat Luka and thought that would be strange. Last name is from their kingdom name (DeLuna Villa). 6. Lorelei Marie ???? - Last name is hidden as it's supposed to be a surprise for my followers, always loved the names Lorelei and Marie so I put them together.
@Lighthouse Asylum Ohh!! Congratulations! He's a doll isn't he? Heh. No pun intended there. Yeah. It's been a few years since I got a new doll and a random MSD was not at the top of my rather long list. But how could I pass him up? I loved his whole promotional photos/styling a lot. I was tempted to get his full set but am in no place to be throwin around money. Plus I like doing my own face ups. He struck me as a poor orphan from the industrial revolution who made a lot of bad choices, died, and became a demon as punishment for his sins. But really, I know his heart is good and he only needs a chance. I think I might use his hammer arm interchangeably that way. Hammer arm when he's in his demon form...human arms when he's in touch with his heart.
@orphansparrow Thanks, I am mad-happy about the whole turn of events. I had the same feeling about the fullset, at first I really desperately wanted it but I also like to do my own faceups, and I've seen owner pictures of the fullset, the faceup isn't nearly as dark as the one in the promo pictures so I was like eh, I might as well do my own, that's half the fun for me, and I'd probably never use the clothes, charming as they are, so I rationalized myself into spending less money, normally the opposite of that is what happens. A layaway with payments that large isn't particularly do-able, so it was the perfect compromise since I don't usually buy dolls that aren't kits anyhow. Why start now? I love your backstory for him I didn't get the hammer arm myself, so I incorporated that aspect into his story a bit too, it's fun to figure those little things out. Usually I start out with a character and then go looking for a doll, this time I kept wistfully going back and looking at pictures of him and it took me awhile to realize it was because I wanted him. I'm slow that way. I popped a sketch of him up in the Visual Concepts area of the Workshop, looking for advice on a body (though really I've already half convinced myself, I think...) but here, if you're interested: /threads/body-for-character-concept.698918/ Can't wait to hear more about your Benjamin, whichever name he chooses. This is one of my favorite threads. I also forgot about the Sleeping Scarecrow Hal event head who's coming with my Benjamin, Hal is named SOPOR. The word itself means "unnaturally deep sleep" and I'd be full of it if I pretended it wasn't also a Sopor Aeternus reference; the capitalized version of it is a goofy backronym that means "(Somnolent Organism, (Prospected) - Original Resident)" and is in the notes of the psychiatrist who was the first Director of Lighthouse Asylum, which is the "universe" for my dolls, it's my jokey excuse for having so many characters from different universes all in one place. There's a somewhat complicated story behind it but SOPOR was found buried at the site where the ground was broken for the hospital ("original resident"), he was excavated from there ("prospected") and he's an unknown creature in a deep sleep-like state of living death ("somnolent organism"). Always wanted to have a perpetual sleepyhead doll to just look pretty and smile, and he's perfect. Sorry for the mile-long ramble, I'm really looking forward to putting all this stuff together.
My only son: Hideaki (秀明 - from japanese 秀 "excellent/beautiful" and 明 "bright", meaning shining excellence | splendid brightness) I am a huge fan of the japanese band X Japan, specially the deceased guitarrist hide (Hideto - 秀人, beatiful person). I wanted a name that would be a indirect reference to him and use the same nickname, hide, so I searched for a name which first kanji 秀 could be read as hide. I did not wanted to use "Hideto" because I do not plan to make him an exact mini me of the musician.
Since I have a lot of off-topic dolls, i'll list the on-topic ones 1. Karo--just something I thought of, doesn't have a meaning behind it 2. Nova--she was my second legit bjd and I wanted something cute and girly to go with her Lolita style. Nova just popped out at me 3. Chance --this was a yellowed secondhand doll that I was giving a second chance to. a new life. 4. Deireadh Fomhair--has irish roots. related to fall, as he is the Bringer of Autumn. 5. Earrach--has meaning in gaelic as the word for spring. This faun is the Bringer of Spring. 6. Tobias --just a name I've always liked, and he was my first on-topic bjd and it suited him. 7. Winnette --I was inspired by the soom Winnie Dee. 8. Pearl --based on her albinism. She's a cute lil pearl :3
Krina Iepure- "Krina" is Romanian for "lily," as in water lilies. Krina's character is a rusalka, a Slavic water fairy of the luring-men-into-the-river-to-drown variety. Her last name is the Romanian word for "rabbit," iepure (ee-YEH-poo-ray), because before she came I had kind of a Jessica Rabbit aesthetic planned for her. She ended up being more of an 18th-century girl, but the name stuck.
Roy Richmond - I wanted a perfectly ordinary name for my most fantastic looking character Alpha - I honestly couldn't think of anything, but I knew I wanted it to start with "A" so he became Alpha (though Adrian was pretty close) Gabby O'Leary - I needed a Scottish or Irish sounding name, and I didn't want to go with Maggie so I chose Gabby instead Nikolai - he looked like my OC Niko, but I didn't want them to be the same person so I changed it slightly Sonja - needed a cute Russian girl name Misha - need another Russian name, but I didn't like any actual girl names, so she ended up with a boy's name Rada Raskolnikov - once again needed a Russian name, and I wanted it to sound like Rodya, and then I added the last name Raskolnikov to make her sound like the main character in Crime and Punishment Carmelo - inspired by Mello from Death Note (name and character wise, not appearance wise) Alex - couldn't decide if they were going to be a guy or a girl at first, so I chose a gender neutral name Nikita - it sounded pretty haha no real thought to this one Simon - I honestly have no idea where this one came from, but it goes nice with his twin sister's name Sophia, who I haven't bought yet Noob - he's a hardcore gamer, but when I was creating his character I couldn't think of a name for him, so I just referred to him as 'this noob' so he became Noob xD
Including both the doll(s) I own and dolls I'm planning: 1. Liluth (She's a half-demon baby) 2. Flint (He's an elf prince so i chose something earthy) 3. Tate (I just really like the name)
My only doll: Haru(ka) (spring; distant) I just really like this name and really suited my babu! (*´▽`*) As for planned dolls: Neve (snow, radiance/bright) Amris/Emrys (immortal)
I have an irrational desire to explain more names, so I suppose I can explain The doll I'll likely never be able to shell Midnight/Err: this character originated as a deity without moral absolutism. Simply put, he's never been human, and knows it's hard, and knows that your decisions are your own to deal with. He's just there, in the dead of night, for those who need someone to comfort them, some help to get through. Hence, Midnight. He was given the name 'err' spitefully by Dawn, after they had -ahem- creative differences. I won't be able to shell him because how many dark blue translucent sd-sized dolls have you seen kicking around?
