Your doll's taste in clothes

Sep 7, 2012

    1. My doll's fashion is definitely gypsy/fantasy. She even refused to wear shoes!

    3. Well, Elias enjoys crossdressing. ._. A lot. He likes to look good, know that he looks good, and remind you that you're never gonna get any. XD He also finds it hilarious when other guys mistake him for a girl.

In general, he likes dark clothing, boots, some accessories; his style is kind of casual scene kid.

Though he also enjoys just lounging around in his yukata sometimes--it's his most comfortable article of clothing.

    6. I'm not sure about set fashion but I know that Subaru is currently favoring more fantasy tribal type clothing, and he would like to have many more accessories, jewelry mostly. He likes gold and colorful jewels he's informed me, unfortunately I have none as of yet but I will eventually get some for him. My SD boy doesn't have a set fashion yet, but I know his tastes lean more toward oriental fantasy, with elegant prints and a lot of brocade(because he tortures me so) as of yet, he has to aquire anything to these tastes but I'll eventually get them too, lol.

    8. All of mine wear Victorian/Lolita/Steampunk/Gothic-ish stuff. Most of it is from Dollheart. I like them to look semi-cohesive since they're all displayed in the same area. I do think it would be fun to buy some casual clothes for all of them and give them new looks, but that would cost way too much. I also would love one guy in a suit and one in a school uniform.

    10. All my dolls have their own styles--a lot are in an alternate Victorian Era, so their clothes reflect that--but the one that stands out as having her own unique style is Candyce, my Resinsoul Mei. Right away, wigless and without any clothes of her own, she asserted a fun-loving, mischievous side. She sports a black and blue wig, and tends to wear edgy, yet colorful clothes. Of all my dolls, she's the one who would shop at Hot Topic and try out all sorts of different fashion trends. She also likes little doses of cute, like a blouse and skirt featuring soot sprites from Spirited Away. (I'll freely admit that more and more of my own wardrobe is inspired by Candy's. I guess her style comes out of my repressed fashion desires. :XD:)

    12. Oh this is fun! :XD:

My dolls' taste in clothes will varied~
But since my own taste is towards school uniform, business suits, coats and other uniform *keke*, mostly it will be like that

Orianne my little girl, beside school uniform, will prefer something lacey and cute. Those from Rosenlied, Amors, or from Dollheart~
Naoya my little boy, will prefer casual clothes and yukata. Something from TTYA and/or Iplehouse

my twins Yumeno and Yukino will mostly wear something identical with different colors.
Besides school uniform they love something casual and sweet. But special case for Yume since she's a J-rock band singer, she will need something visual for band purposes. Still want those from Volks newest collection from H.Naoto :aheartbea

while my bigger men will mostly dressed in suits and coats. Like those from Freedom Teller or Mosica. But Angell Studio coats are exceptional~

    13. Hmm...
It varies a LOT over here. I have dolls in everything from full Japanese furisode and kariginu, to traditional Chinese formal costumes, to three-piece suits, Lolita frufru, ancient Near Eastern pilgrim's robes and lace-up black leather. Some of my dolls have a very firmly set style, but many others wear different things depending on my mood at the time I redressed them.

There are a few hard-and-fast rules, though...
      - No matter the style, Julian and Ashley must always be dressed as exactly alike as possible.
      - Cardinal must always have on at least one thing that's red. No exceptions. (At the moment, it's a pair of red leopard-print boxers. XD)
      - Sjhan must always carry his traveler's bag.
      - Daisy must always wear her string of pearls.
      - Gaia must wear high-heel shoes.
      - Chibi!Cardinal (the five year-old version of my grown-up Tedros, Cardinal) must always wear his towel cape.
      - Tien Jen does not do trousers. Skirts, robes or hakama only.

    14. I'm a metalhead/goth myself, so when I got my doll I thought I'd dress her only in black. Now I think she only has ONE black piece of clothing. I love colors(on the doll, not myself), and I love to mix the style in both boy'ish and girly clothes. So I'm not sure what I would class her style as. Anything that suits her! :D

    16. Leah wears either comfortable clothing or practical, dark clothing that could look casual. She's a rogue, so she needs a good range of mobility. Dark clothing to blend into shadows at night, but casual to blend into crowds. At home, though, she's just comfortable. She's currently wearing a tank top, shorts, and stockings.

Sam dresses "deceptively casually," as he says. Like Leah, that means causal but practical. He is fond of military chic, but it makes him uncomfortable at the same time, due to his past as a demon soldier.

    18. My Minifee's preferred style is most anything made by Wimukt :) Soft, comfortable, natural, mori girl sort of stuff. There's a couple outfits from Angell-Studio that I'd looove to get her. If anybody has suggestions for other clothes in that sort of category, please let me know!

My Lian is an android/cyborg so she doesn't really care too much but I'm kind of leaning in the direction of big fancy dresses maybe. She has been around for a long time, story wise, so her fashion will change a lot.

    23. I dress my Dikadoll Mian Mian like a little boy from between nineteenth and twentieth century, or something similar (I'm not trying to be historically accurate): with short pants, oversized jumpers, and I'm starting to do for him a little sailor suit. He seems to like it, so I believe I've found his style.

My incoming Catish Reaa is based on a character that alternate Victorian/Edwardian inspired attires to lace and leather goth/rockstar outfit, elegant/classic lolita clothes, steampunk and maybe a bit of burlesque, everything very feminine. If the doll will maintain my character's tastes, I will probably have a lot to sew!

The two other dolls in my actual wishlist are fantasy characters: they will probably ending wearing modern style fashions and not only fantasy ones, but I'm not sure on what kind.

    26. Hmm, well I don't know what to really say here.

My three biggest SD guys best fit the grunge style really. I never thought about it, but all of their style's is definitely on the grunge side of things. One of them has a little goth punk type style thrown in too though.
My so far only SD girl fits the grunge style too, (are we seeing a pattern here?) but she also has some goth punk thrown in for good measure. Except when she's in her character clothing, then it's sorta army type clothing.
My other SD guy who's not complete yet will have the sort of all american boy/high school jock style to him when he's not in his character world clothing, which like my girl is sorta army style clothing.
My MSD guy has an odd Chinese or Japanese style. Lots of Kimono's, Yukatas, Cheongsams etc. I really don't know what to call it.
And my YOSD and TINY boys, just have a sort of cute, modern kid look to them. Just normal kid clothes really.

    27. Only some of mine have a distinct fashion sense, so here we go!

Liam - Well, he's an assassin, so pretty much anything black. He also favors hoods. I've tried to tell him that assassins don't necessarily need to dress like that anymore, but it's what he likes, so it's what he wears.

Sebastian - My little perpetual student. He wears wire-rimmed spectacles, and can frequently be found wearing waistcoats and slacks. He's applying to Oxford for his doctorate, and tries to dress the part. In theory, he wants to be a professor some day, but is content to be a student for now.

Magnus - The Time Traveler. Long leather coat, knee high boots, and a clockwork monocle. He occasionally shows up wearing something I've never seen before, and he can only assure me that he was wearing it to fit in whenever he was. Some of it is quite strange, though.

Morpheus - My God of Dreams. He was NOT happy to find out that I only had jim-jams for him to wear. He's actually a bit of a hipster, and has this mossy-green hat that he all but resuses to take off. He almost always has a cup of coffee in his hands. And he still manages to sleep about 18 hours a day. Go figure.

Julia and Valentina - Ah, the twins. They dress very girly, and always match. Same dress, same socks, same colors. It's a good thing I can tell them apart! Most times. Usually. Which one was which, again?

    29. Aiden - He's a scrappy musician, and often wears tattered and torn clothes. Very rock and roll, and doesn't really give two hoots. If he likes it, he will wear it until it falls off of him. He does have a few nicer pieces when he's not just loafing about writing songs.

My other doll, a Ringdoll Julia, won't arrive for sometime. I haven't settled on a final name, but she is very picky and particular about what she wears. She's the kind of prissy-miss to go through several outfits a day to fit the occasion. Very lolita, soft feminine. Anything with frills and lace, and she's there.

However, he's open to wearing brighter clothing every now and then though only because I really like all the options for dolly clothes out there. I can't help but put him in non-character clothes sometimes! As for Rea, pink and white are her main color scheme. Zhouyu is an elf-mage, and he loves his fantasy robes, but he lies to try nearly all of my own clothing styles himselve too. Crossdressing.

Jean stics to clasics, mor victorian/edwardian style aristocrat, but he loves his pirate outfit too^^. I think he would be nice candidate for steampunk wear.

Lucius is ver very versatil, as long as he looks good, he'll wear anything. but the classic genlemen look is his preffered one.

Loki, or litlle loki loves, inspite of his name, fantasy/fairy chineese clothing. But he adapts well and he will look great in his Avenders loki outfit when it's finished.

Severus is your avarage traditional HP wizard and thinks Alan Rickman did a wonderful job in the movies. Clothing style included.

    43. I tend to coordinate my doll's wardrobes and styles so they will look 'cohesive' together and yet you'll still be able to sense their personalities and individuality. I hope that makes sense haha

Bambi's a different category of a girly girl, in a sense she will will never wear anything with lace and frills but opts for things that look more minimalist and simple. She sticks to a certain colour palette, mostly muted or desaturated colours, and pastels. In a way she's also a vintage darling when it comes to undergarments and certain dress cuts (i.e cap sleeved dresses). She will never wear anything too bright or bold. She does like suede leather though, and it looks very good on her creamy/slightly yellowed tone. :) She can be a little whimsical too so she will have one-off items like brogues with feet painted on them or collar necklaces. I think it looks very charming on her. I'm glad that I can say this much about Bambi's style because for a long time I've been struggling with her style sense, but things seem to be taking a certain direction now that I've been in the hobby for a few years. :aheartbea

Peanut on the other hand is a little dressy. He likes patched sleeved anythings and loves bow ties. He wears certain prints but nothing that ever looks too jarring. His colour palette includes colours like mustard, olive greens, navy blues, and maybe a spotty bow tie. His wardrobe has blazers, cardigans, rolled chinos and his favourite brown leather lace ups. I'm working on getting him a fedora which I think will blend very well with his style, but it's a bit of a challenge since he does have a big head, and I worry about making that look even bigger than it is haha! Despite his dressy nature, he doesn't own a full tuxedo and won't be caught dead in a cravat. (That's just venturing too much into pretentious waters lol)

      Junya is the newest member of the crew. She's the only one out of the two that doesn't have a vintage-like wardrobe and is more youthful in her dressing. She'll wear tops that look ironic and funny, like a top with a multiple hot dog prints. She does have a little bit of a bohemian vibe in a sense that she always wears her tikka and has henna on her hands. I haven't quite set out a wardrobe yet for her, but I imagine it'll look casual with lots of cardigans, doc marts, funky socks, a very Lazy Oaf-like closet. Her wardrobe will probably be the hardest one to find seeing as she has a lot of unique pieces. I'll probably have to make them myself or hire someone to help me develop her extensive wardrobe. ^^;

      TL;DR:
Non of my dolls are into loli/punk/bdsm wear, but stick to more the casual, everyday and vintage end of the scale. It does help that I keep separate tumblrs for each of them so I can never stray too far from my intended style direction for each of these characters. :)

    44. My elfdoll Mir, Ramses, has dozens of costumes, he is the family fashionista. He has everything from Chinese brocade robes to ripped jeans and tie dye t-shirts, He prefers bright red, though his current favorite outfite is a sage green and brown LOTR inspired elf costume. He likes robes, and capes, and drama. He owns a silver lame` robe that I jokingly call " Ming the Merciless visits the harem". All of my dolls have at least one ancient Egyptian costume. I make all of my own doll clothes, with the only exception being a Freedom Teller "city rider" black leather motorcycle jacket, that he saw and insisted on getting for his Christmas present last year.

Nefertari is a Soah by Elfdoll, she is usually seen in pale blue or white, simple elegant dresses, think Givenchy. She is a dancer, and likes flowing garments she can move in.

My Carina by Iplehouse, named Epiphany, is my pirate queen. She likes brilliant jewel tones: emerald green , cobalt blue, rich dark garnet reds. She prefers period costume: mostly Renaissance or Medieval with some Regency.

My Iplehouse Kamau, named Etienne, wears mostly modern clothes in a surfer boy style. Muted colors. His favorite Hawaiian shirt is pale olive green with palm trees on it. Favorite clothing brand is Billabong.

I only recently got my pair of gray Cheshire cats by Pipos, so they don't have many clothes yet. My basic gray, Lili the Pandorable is my only really ultra- feminine doll. She likes white dresses, and fun little girl costumes in pastels. She always wears jewelry, and usually wears pearls. My other Cheshire is a fullset LE Mysterious, and the only costume he owns just yet, is the black, bright red and blue costume he came in. It suits him so well that I will probaby stick to similiar items: I am planning a neon purple, emerald green and black harlequin costume for him.

    45. Jack is my Snow Prince and came as a full-set with a white youthful fairy set. Since then he's expanded into quite the royal wardrobe. Someday he'll get something to play about in, for sword practice, hunts, and occasionally just being a boy. Such a regal lad!

Lexi is his betrothed, but she prefers to do the Princess look when on display. Hence, she has some cute things and practical things to wear around the mansion. Kind of like Bambi, above. She definitely needs more clothes of all types, though. Jack out-dresses her nearly always.

Alex, well, he's just a boy. Put on some jeans or shorts and any old shirt and he's quite happy to play in the pine needles or trees, climb rocks, stone-skip in the river.

Those are my Little Fee's; my pukipuki's also have extremely different tastes. Ramune' is my wizardling and likes to dress quite nicely. I believe she's from high-ranking nobility by the way she behaves and shuns anything practical.

Elly has a wide wardrobe, but beware putting her in a dress as she'll still climb trees and land in holes in the dirt and play in hollowed dead trees.

Marvin's my boy, wearing whatever's necessary for the occasion. Most of his wardrobe consists of play clothes, although he has one princely outfit and a munchkin mayor shirt, for which he desperately needs leggings.

    49. My Anneke is a princess and wishes to dress as such. She loves to wear beautiful dresses with full skirts and long sleeves. If she could have any dress, it would be Marie Antoinette's Chemise a la Reine. However, any historical gown pleases her, especially gown from the 18th, 19th and Turn of the Century. Basically, I have to do a lot of sewing for her. :)

    50. Vala - She's a rough and tumble girl but she'll wear dresses...(And sad to say she owns more dresses then her actual character does. Story!Vala wouldn't be caught dead in half of what Doll!Vala wears...They're like parallels.) She also likes pants and boots. The only shoes I've found to fit her have all been boots so it's fitting.

Kazumi and Noah - They're girly girls to the max. For Noah it's frilly blouses and capri's or shorts most of the time, Kazumi is more of a dress girl. Noah tends to wear the more pop colors, likes patterns and to sand out...Kazumi it varies.

Avalon - He's a guy...He just wants something to be functional and working XD Even if that functional thing is a dress.

Shinta: usually dresses casually but loves his yukata
      Anje: likes historical outfits
Hajime: Kimono, hakama, shinsengumi haori + headband
      Cirrus: his pink lolita dress
Johann: 18'th century clothes but also loves the Elrond style outfit he often wears.
Anna: likes whatever looks nice on her.
Beorn: at the moment, he loves his Toph cosplay.

    52. My dolls are usually dressed in casual clothes or jeans, however, my goal is to buy a kimono for each of my dolls both male and female. So far I am way off of my goal with only 4 or 5 kimonos for over 20 dolls and I have not been lucky enough to buy any of the guys a kimono. Oh well.

    53. Ardith has a rather.. hard style. She wears kimonos or more victorian style dresses. So I guess her style would be a bit sophisticated. Leverett on the other hand could wear anything. Her current outfits are rather cutesy, all with bunny ears. But I intend to buy her a kimono too, and some more modern stuff like a basic skirt and hoodie. Semith's style is belts all the way, mostly black.

    54. My only boy, Yuzuru likes to wear comfy, casual clothes very much. It's in his backstory that he's a crossdressing model for Japanese street clothes but he actually doesn't like to wear dresses and girly wigs. But surprisingly when it comes to photoshoots, he has this positive vibe that'll make you think he likes what he's wearing. Overall, he's just the boy-next-door type of guy :)

    55. Kissa loves dresses - the sweeter is better.
Nigel - maybe a boy but still loves girly things. But now he discovered that wearing only shirt is really comfortable (even with naked lower part of the body)...

    56. my boy is a goth all the way, one of the classic goths or emo style dress in dark shirts and tripp like pants. My girl Lucy is a total Tomboy with the need to feel pretty every once in a while. So normally she dresses down in a dark green Army Bomber with black stretch pants and multi color checkered shoes. The other day however she was in a cute floral sweater, black stretch pants, and green shoes. She also has a dress in black with various star decorations on it. She's got a hoodie on hold and likes to wear boy shorts. But she's always in boys sneakers and such.

    57. My dreaming doll misora wears casual clothes, basically anything I would wear, but she also tries out different Japanese street styles. She's got a fairy kei outfit and I'll be making her a mori girl outfit next.

    58. Last time I posted here it was about my Otherworld story gang, who are mainly Minifee.

      So, about the Littlefee Three!

Stella, a Littlefee Pipi with mods, is a Troll Child, and ends up in a lot of skirts because pants would be tricky to fit around her clompy hooves and her tail... Great, now I want to make her some short capri-cut trousers. She favors nature or fantasy inspired outfits, and very much likes fairy-style things. She even owns a YOsd Fer! She loves the ruffly gown. Most of her clothing is pretty feminine in style.

Farron the Small God is an Elf El sculpt, and he insists that he is a god of his own far off world, which has mostly birds. He always has the LTF magnetic white wings on with any outfit he wears. He mostly likes simple things in solid bold colors, but I've talked him into a casual tee with a bird pattern once or twice. He has an elfy looking tunic he also likes.

Last but not least, Selby the Robot. Selby is a LTF Rachel, and an Asimov IX Robot. Selby loves clothes, from dresses to trousers to sweaters to boots. Fashion is Selby's favorite hobby, and the robot tends to borrow pieces from the other fees wardrobes at will. Selby will wear pretty much anything, and make it look good, too.

    59. Every one of my little ones has a different sort of style, but I think the boys could probably manage on a lot less, and aren't too troublesome...
Jeans, shirt, hoodie or jumper of some kind, and they can get by.

      The girls, however....huge pains!

Thankfully, most of the ladies have their "dream outfits". :sweat

    60. I've been pondering clothing so much today - it's so hard dressing my dolls! I started off not wanting any boys, because I'd raised a human boy and wanted to buy girly clothes for a change. But I've never been able to figure out a style for one of them! Finally got myself a boy the other week, and what a joy he is to dress compared to girls! Now planning my next boy, because this boy is a bit vain, and although he likes colourful clothes he doesn't want to look a fool either - So I 'need' a boy who will be happy to dress like a crazy fool, and not care! So I've worked out his style, and my existing boy's style. The one girl I haven't yet boxed up is sitting there wearing hand-me-downs, nothing bought for her and I still can't figure out what to dress her in, although I'm leaning towards boho, shabby chic, vintagey style - Boys are so much easier! She's a very quiet girl though and wouldn't want to wear anything that might draw ridicule or attention to her, which does complicate matters, especially as I can't bear to buy anything 'boring' - I live in boring hand-me-downs from my son as it is LOL
