Would you rather have clothes made in average quality for cheap, or in good quality but exponentially expensive?

would you rather buy a doll and have it shipped to a family member's house wich you know will be delivered perfectly but wait longer for it to arrive to you, or have it shipped to your house but have doubt if it will ever arrive?

 

Definitely send it to my family's house. Better safe than sorry.

Would you rather buy a full set limited doll even though you don't really like the clothes/wig/etc, or buy just the limited doll blank then wonder if you would have been happier with the full set?

 

I would prefer to have the blank limited doll, I don't usually like ful set dolls and if that's the case, I would only buy the things that I like.

Would you rather have a stunning head with an ugly body or have a beautyful body but with a really annoying head sculpt? (you cannot sell or exchange parts haha)

 

On my doll's face! (too afraid of needles >n<) And then I would build a story about my doll where she had been in jail and that's where she got the tatoo, lol!

Would you rather have ONLY tinies or ONLY 70cm dolls?

 

Only 70cm dolls cause I like that their faces look more realistic(?
Would you rather make a hybrid of your doll or have the original body but it wont fit the character's aesthetic?

 

I'm already thinking of Hyrbriding my first doll - there's a set of jointed hands I'd like for him, and eventually he might get a second body for me to make a ftm mod!

Would you rather buy or make your doll's wigs?

 

I'd rather buy wigs, I'm both lazy and sloppy, so I think my wigs would be pretty sad. I keep telling myself I'd be sewing more with a new machine, but would I ACTUALLY sew more? I don't know...

Would you rather get really stylized sculpts or really realistic sculpts?

 

Ooh, this is hard! I think really stylized, since outside of a few sculpts, I'm mostly 'meh' about super realistic dolls.

Would you ratherrrr move all of your dolls individually in the boxes they came in, or several at a time in doll carriers?

 

Several at a time, omg moving the boxes is so cumbersome.

Would you rather spend money on getting yourself a mani/pedi, or on sending your doll off for a mani/pedi?

 

I think I'd probably spend money on a mani/pedi for my doll! I rarely spend money on pampering myself over pampering my dolls

Would you rather have PERFECT hair for yourself for the rest of your life (no styling involved!) Or the perfect, most flawless wigs for all your dolls?

 

Definitely wigs for my dolls! Perfect hair would look a bit funny on me...

Would you rather have your favorite pair of doll shoes made in people sizes or your own favorite shoes made sized for your doll?

 

i think the doll houses ^-^ since i like to do the face ups myself its really part of the fun for me

Spend the day with friends at a meet. I can still take solo pictures of my dolls if I want but then I have the option of doing photos stories with other dolls and group shops with both dolls and owners.

All boys. That's what I have right now anyway...though it may or may not stay that way =P

I'd rather buy one in person, no dramatic wait buildup sadly, but no shipping or customs fees either!

Would you rather get a full doll whose head is perfect for what you want but the body is meh, or would you rather attempt a hybrid with a body you love but that no one has ever tried before?

 

I would definetly try the hybrid.

Would you rather get your grail as a cheap-bait and restore it or rather get it in top condition for a much higher price?

 

I think I would rather get a cheap one and restore it. Mostly because I'd buy any I could find of my grail doll and because I like a good deal haha!! Plus I would also enjoy the challenge.

Would you rather have all YOSD size and smaller or all MSD size and larger?

 

MSD or Larger, YOSD's are usually too childish for my tastes. I like young adult / adult dolls!

Would you rather perfect fitting clothes that stain your doll or ill fitting clothes that are completely colorfast?

 

Personally I would go with ill fitting clothes because you can always adjust clothes, and if the staining is bad enough it could be permanent

Would you rather buy your favorite discontinued sculpt severely yellowed or buy a newer not-so-loved sculpt in perfect condition?

 

ironically this is actually a situation i am currently in! I think i'd choose the discontinued sculpt, because once I've got my heart set on one then its game over

would you rather have all company face up dolls that you could never change, or all your own custom face ups done by yourself?

 

Definitely all company face ups. ^^;

would you rather have to sacrifice a doll each time you get a new one or would you rather have each new doll you get come with a new problem?

 

New doll, new problem! I like figuring things out, and I'd hate to have to part with my dolls for the sake of a new one.

Would you rather wait for an event to buy dolls and get a free doll/parts, or just buy as soon as possible to get the doll sooner?

 

Wait for the event, free makes it easier for me to rationalize this hobby. And let's my wallet take a break.

Would you rather customize your dolls completely having them look terrible to others in the hobby, but your love for them never ends. Or buy full sets that can never be changed but look beyond beautiful

 

Well right now I'm having the issue of decent fund health and can't find anything on my "grail list"!

 

Can dolls bought new from companies with their makeup be changed at all? Even the eyes or some facial hair added?

@Kraftykitt id rather customize them myself that way they have a story and a piece of me embedded in them, and should i really care what others think?if my love for them never ends then no amount of hate could equate to a single shred of my love for them they are my babies i wont dare to give you the satisfaction of my hatred towards them! ~victory screech~

would you rather be indecisive when choosing sculpts and jump from sculpt to sculpt before buying them or buy the first sculpt you lay your eyes on?

 

Indecisive. I almost bought the first one I loved, but because I'm indecisive I ended up with a different doll. I'm glad because now I've seen owner pics of the first and I don't love him as much anymore. I must admit though, being indecisive can suck haha

Would you rather dress your dolls in all bright colors or in all black?

 

Hard to decide, but I think I'd go with bright!

Would you rather wait almost a year for an exclusive doll or get two dolls right away?

That's a tough choice for me, because the minute anything is discontinued I want it! I think I'd go for the doll that's being discontinued, but keep an eye out for my grail with a layaway option...

I'd rather buy it right away if I could, I think it'd be more exciting that way.

That's a hard one. Probably one discontinued, just because I live a small space and have limited space for display. And I would definitely want to display my grail doll(s)

One that I really love. Lucky for me, I have that one perfect doll, my grail, plus a bunch of other lovely dolls! I've been so lucky, every time I think "I wish that doll was still available, I love her" one comes up on the Marketplace!

I would go for the huge 70cm doll - i think they are fascinating

Probably furniture. My boys have a few accessories but they hardly ever use them.

All human. I like elf ears, but not a lot of fantasy dolls appeal to me.

Dress them as super cool/cute as I can. My dolls all wind up having characters, and while cosplay would be TONS OF FUN...I like them being noticed for what I personally put into them. ^_^

Would you rather have all super small and otherwise adorable pocket-sized dolls, easy to take anywhere you like? Or would you rather have all mega-huge dolls that take EFFORT to be able to take anywhere?

I think I would rather own it if it's in poor condition honestly, if I got a good deal on it. I enjoy the modding/fixing aspect of BJDs just as much as the faceup/bodyblushing and dressing up aspect, so I feel like I would be more proud of getting a great deal on a damaged Grail and then fixing it over spending $1500 to buy one in perfect condition.

Would you rather live somewhere remote with little to no opportunity to meet up with other people for doll meets, but have absolutely gorgeous scenery for the perfect photos of your doll, or live in a community with lots of other doll owners but the scenery is hideous and you would never want to take pictures of your doll there?

 

I would live somewhere with gorgeous scenery. I love taking photos, and i'm not really that social type of a person, because i have autism :/

Would you rather have 6 "cheaper" Dolls you like, or one expensive you love?

 

I would say 6 cheaper dolls, since that's kinda how I work. One of the dolls I would LOVE is a Volks Creamy Mami full set, and they show up for sale pretty regularly, but I just can't make myself spend the money when I could have 2 other dolls I like for that price!

Would you rather horde your doll collection all to yourself, or a share a collection with a family member/friend so you have more dolls and more stuff for them?

 

I definitely wouldn't share my dolls haha!! But clothing/accessories - sure.

Would you rather buy one expensive high quality wig or a bunch of cheaper ones so your doll has a variety and can change their look anytime?

 

I'd rather buy a bunch of cheaper ones- as long as they look presentable and nice enough for me.

Would you rather be forced to exchange your doll with someone else's or have them lay out in the sun for a whole day?

 

my tan boy would probably turn green if he laid in direct sunlight for a whole day! D: so I think I would prefer to exange. I hope I get to choose with who!

Feet! Feet for sure. I can make something that will suffice and that I can hide in shoes until I get a replacement. And most often I pick dolls for their hands, so I would be devastated if Iost the hands.

Would you rather be forced to give your doll away to an owner that you know will take pristine care of it, or sell it to an owner that isn't very careful and is likely to damage it.

 

Give her away to a loving home! I couldn't handle selling a doll I really love to someone who would ruin her.

Would you rather keep your dolls safe in their boxes, or display them in a nice cabinet?

 

At the moment my Dolls live in their boxes, but i really want a cabinet for them

Make the clothes myself! I have made some clothing before and developed a pattern or two. definitely the more fun and frugal option! I should get back into that.... lol.

Probably my doll collection.

If you received a doll you didn't like as a gift, would you rather keep the doll and pretend you liked it or tell the person who gave it to you the truth and get rid of the doll?

 

I'd do whatever I could to work that doll into a character I liked, only if I couldn't do that would I let the person know I didn't like it.

Would you rather have every doll shoe you ever bought be too big, or every pair of pants be too short?

 

Would rather have the shoes be too big. I'm already dealing with that and even though it's almost impossible to get my doll to stand on its own, I find that it's easy to hide ill-fitting shoes in photos.

If you were given the funds to do so right this second, would you rather wait for an undetermined amount of time for a doll you really love, or would you rather order a doll that you were only mildly interested in but would arrive in a few weeks?
