Would you rather receive a package of clothing all the wrong size or receive only eyes when you ordered clothes?

 

I'd rather get stuff the wrong size because I could always stick it on another doll. Once my dolls have eyes for their characters they don't tend to change.

Would you rather buy a sculpt that looks perfect for your character, but is new or unpopular so there are no owner pics to tell for sure, or the one that has lots of owner pics available but just... doesn't... look... quite... right?

 

I would rather get the one that I think looks right and take my chances.

If you could have only 4 dolls, would you rather have all 4 be of your favorite sculpt or just 1 and your next three favorites?

 

I think I'd only want one of my fave sculpt and the next 3 can be descending favorite. I like variety!

Would you rather all your dolls be from absolutely wonderful but from a sketchy company (weird customer service, dodgy shipping policy) or have only meh sculpts from an incredibly reliable and fast shipping company?

 

If I can get the dolls from the sketchy but wonderful company secondhand, then those are the dolls that I would rather have. Otherwise, the meh sculpts from a company with the better reliability are the ones that I would go for.

Would you rather have only SD sized dolls or YoSD sized dolls, if you can only choose one?

 

Hm... Probably SDs. They're so much easier to sew for, and the detail is definitely a plus. The only problem would be how quickly I'd run out of room >.>"

Would you rather sew your doll's clothes to try and get them just right, or buy ready-made clothing that isn't quite what you're looking for?

 

Sew them! But only because I do that already...

Would you rather have to make all of your dolls clothing or do their faceups?

 

I do both already but if I had to choose I'd really rather do their faceups. Maybe I'd get better at eyebrows.

Would you rather have your dolls stored out of sight or have them out so you can look at them.

 

Mine are all very visible. It means I have to stick two boxes in front of the main group to protect them from direct sunlight. I need a better display space though.

Would you rather have all pale colored dolls or all darker toned dolls?

 

All pale, just because it would be easier to do and see faceups, also the darker resin is typically more expensive.

Would you rather wait a long time and get a doll brand new, or quickly get it secondhand?

 

I personally like the idea of adopting secondhand dolls, and all of my resin dolls to date have been adopted. I suppose if I absolutely could not get a certain sculpt secondhand, then I would be willing to wait a long time to get the doll brand new.

Would you rather take your dolls to a small meet-up or a large convention?

 

I'd rather take them to a small meet-up.

Would you rather haveing 100 Minies or 10 Large BJDs?

 

Ten large BJDs for sure.

Would you rather stay at home and wait for the doll of your dreams to arrive or go to a massive doll convention?

 

The doll of my dreams will arrive if I'm not there anyway, so the massive doll convention. Maybe I could find goodies for my new dolly.

Would you rather have a large outdoor patio diorama or an inside smallish but cozy apartment diorama?

 

I would rather have a smallish but cozy apartment diorama that is protected from the elements...there are always nice places outside to go to for photoshoots.

Would you rather have a doll with in ebony skin, or a neon color (purple, pink, blue, etc.)?

 

Ebony. They'd fit in with the multi-racial group I've got. I actually just bought a "coffee black" doll from Soom.

Good question so- Would you rather have a doll with black or near black skin, or one in a bright color? Why?

 

I would adore a doll with black or near black skin. She would fit in so well for one of my story lines!

Would you rather buy a second hand fur wig or a brand new synthetic wig?

 

It would honestly make me no difference in what the wig was made of or where it came from so long as it is what I am needing and in good condition. ^^

Would you rather do a photoshoot on a snowy mountainside or by an ocean? Why?

 

Snowy mountainside (so long as it's not currently snowing). Ice melts and dries but sand can get whipped around by wind and be really abrasive. It might damage a doll or get into joints or even the camera!

Would you rather a mature sized tiny or a childish SD sized sculpt?

 

Probably a childish SD!! Mature tinies would probably be so thin and fragile I'd be afraid of breaking them.....

Would you rather buy something secondhand for cheaper and risk damage or get overcharged for something brand new?

 

Since I do a lot of modding anyway, I guess I'd go for the cheaper second-hand doll. Over-charged(priced) isn't in my wallet's vocabulary.

Would you rather have elf ears or sleepy eyes on all your dolls.

 

Elf ears. Sleepy eyes make me think the dolls are all sad for some reason.


Would you rather replace all your doll's eyes or all of their wigs?

 

EDIT: Woops! I'd say wigs. Perfect eyes for a character are hard to find, and Halogen's actually have a bit of sentimental value because they were a gift.

Elf ears, if I need to mod them human they're less visible if I fail.

Would you rather, when selling a doll, have a buyer stop communicating entirely after asking about your doll, or have them respond again and say they've changed their mind?

 

I'd rather they told me if they changed their mind, that way I would know to keep up my listing rather than keeping it stuck in limbo.

Would you rather buy a BJD for a friend, or have a friend buy one for you?

 

I'd rather buy one for a friend actually, as much as my initial instinct was "more dolls for me yay!". I'd feel too indebted to someone if I was given such a big gift ;-;

Would you rather only be able to buy one size of doll, or only be able to own one doll of each size?

 

Buy one size of doll. Most of my guys are SD's so I feel if I could only buy SD sized dolls I could just "age" the little ones up. It would be harder to get my entire crew if I could only do one of each size. I don't think there are enough size options to get them all for one.

Would you rather go to a local meetup once a month for a year or go to a big con but only once that year?

 

I would rather go to a local meet up once a month for a year simply because I have never been to a meet up before. I think it would be better to dip my toes in a pond than jump into the ocean. I'm not a very social person to begin with and being at a place with tons of people would probably be really scary...

Would you rather take photos of your doll outside at a garden or at a friends house in a diorama?

 

My guy is an adventurer so outside! He can document garden snails!

Would you rather take a gamble on a random box of eyes or accessories?

 

I never had love for accessories anyway. eyes!

would you rather push yourself, or your doll down a flight of stairs?

 

...Me. I'm built to withstand it a little better >.>" It's highly unlikely my own fingers will come flying off when I hit the landing.

Would you rather blush your own dolls' hands, or send them off to be blushed by someone else, leaving your doll without hands for a while?

 

Blush them myself. That way I get them exactly the way I want and there is no risk of fingers breaking.

Would you rather have a slightly accurate doll (features wise) for all of your characters or only have dolls for two or three major ones that are well sculpted?

 

By well sculpted, do you mean sculpted to look specifically like my dolls, or having beautiful craftmanship? If you mean the former, I don't need my dolls to look exactly like their characters. A good face up can help me fake that. So in that case I'd be ok with the slightly accurate ones. But if you are referring to having masterfully crafted dolls, I'd be willing to have fewer dolls in that case.

Would you rather wait 6 months for a faceup that is the most perfect you've ever seen, or get a faceup that is serviceable within a week?

I have to go for the perfect faceup. I still have dolls who don't have their faceups because I am incredibly picky.

Would you rather give up visiting DoA for a week or give up all your dolls for a week?

 

I haven't left all my guys home yet, I always have one or two with me when I travel, so I guess it would be DoA for a week I could handle that but not much more. I'm nosy.

Would you rather have dolls sized red solo cups or fine crystal stemware?

 

This one is amazing! I would have said Crystal stemware but now I can't get over the thought of them sitting around with little solo cups. Solo cups.

If you were given $1,000 U.S. to spend on doll stuff (and you could only buy one type of thing) would you rather spend it on more dolls or on clothes.

 

Dolls. That would get me a couple of the more expensive dolls on wishlist, and I don't have nearly enough dolls currently to justify 1k worth of clothes...

Would you rather buy a limited sculpt perfect for a character and dye it (it doesn't come in the right color) or a non-limited and cheaper sculpt from a company that makes the right color but the sculpt doesn't look at all like the character?

 

Buy it and dye it. I am way to picky.

Would you rather have a super possible lower body or a super possible upper body?

 

Super pose-able upper body! Especially if it included jointed hands.

Would you rather take your dolls on vacation with you or leave them at home where they'll be safe?

 

Oh thats actually really tricky. . . umm I guess I'd leave them at home. Locked and hidden away so they were safe. I'd hate to risk any damage or loss in luggage or similar.

Would you rather a doll with jointed hands and only high heeled feet or regular hands and flat feet?

 

If it was a girl doll, jointed hands and heeled feet. Boy doll, the opposite.

Would you rather have beautiful, expressive doll eyes in the wrong color, or the perfect color but the eyes are flat and lifeless?

 

It depends on how wrong the color is. If it is just a different shade of blue or something then that would be fine. If the eyes are brown instead? Not so much.

Would you rather buy the full set of a doll or assemble the outfit, wigs, eyes, ect. from various sites on your own?

 

Depending on the doll, I could go either way. But since most of my dolls have specific personalities and clothing tastes, I would rather buy a doll and assemble an outfit or two or few on my own.

Would you rather have a few limited sets, or a large amount of regular dolls?

 

A few limited sets for sure!

Doll who can't stand. Two of mine can't stand independently because of their tiny feet.

Would you rather have a doll who can't stand but is easy to find nice shoes for, or a doll that stands like a rock but doesn't fit in most shoes?

 

Can't stand but has great shoes. Doll stands exist but I can't make shoes very well.

Might have been asked before but: Would you rather only have dolls from one company or only have each doll be from a completely different company?

 

Probably have only one doll from different companies, since that's mostly what I do now. lol

would you rather have a doll that was stolen and you were able to get it back but irreparably broken or have a doll stolen and never see it again?

 

Yikes what a nightmare! I honestly would want to get them back even if they were broken. I could always mod the head and get a new body or whatever but for them to be gone forever would be too hard for me.

Would you rather pose your dolls for photos with real food or buy prop food to use for pictures?

 

Hm... Prop food, in case I want to use it again. Plus there's less of a risk of dirtying my dolls and attracting ants or whatever. Plus plus I get to stretch my (practically nonexistent) sculpting skills.

Would you rather have 100 tinies or one 1:1 scale doll?

 

100 tinies, I don't know what I'd do with a full scale doll. Hubby might get jealous.

Cheap doll and beautiful outfits. I love dressing up dolls and just because it is cheap doesn't mean it isnt wonderful

Unchangeable eyes. Bad hair is harder to work around.

Would you rather have the perfect faceup or the perfect outfit?

 

The perfect outfit. I am so picky I make most of my clothes since I can't find something that is "just right"

Would you rather spend time with your dolls taking pictures of them or making things for them?

 

Making things for sure. Like you I tend to prefer making clothes more than buying something that's not "quite right". Not to mention i'm not the best at taking pictures.

Would you rather be able to afford only one doll and love it to pieces, or be able to afford and buy any doll you want but not be happy with any of them?

 

Oh one doll and love it to pieces! If you don't love the doll whats the point? :P

Would you rather order a doll in the wrong colour for your character that's in stock or pre-order it in the right colour with an over a year wait?

 

Pre order with a long wait time. If it's the wrong colour, I don't have the skills to fix it (or extra money to send off for an airbrush session), so I'd rather wait. Plus, I'll appreciate it more that way

Would you rather photograph your doll in the PERFECT place (great lighting, etc) with lots of people around or have shoddy quality pictures taken in privacy (editing cannot save these pictures)

 

I'll brave the crowds. I've got enough lousy photos taken in the privacy of my bedroom.

Would you rather have a doll with a great wig that doesn't stay in place well or a so-so wig that stays put?

 

A so-so wig that stays put. I had to replace two gorgeous wigs because they just would not stay on. Far too frustrating.

Would you rather have glass or acrylic eyes for your doll? (assuming both had the same perfect shade of whatever)
