Snowball!! Just for the record we get WAY WAY more snow then this.

See... same back yard were Kyla was sitting, just a month and a half ago!

Just more snow shots.... this is my front yard after a few days of melting. And yes that's my jeep on the left side :D
      [IMG]

These were taken at a protected area called Heiรฐmรถrk just inside the city limits, this is a rock formation that is just outside the forrest. The weather was freezing so you can see the frozen water I think.
Iceland is the place to be at if you want cold! (And red rocks ofcourse) :XD:

    13. Oh man, there are so many pics I could post here... X3 I love taking my kids into the grand outdoors (which is mostly my back yard XD) with me! And a few of them have traveled with me all over the place; my Sylvie kept me company for five weeks in Italy, and Sabine went with me on my week-long trip to Washington DC. ^^ I love everybody's pictures, it's great to see dollies in all kinds of places. Here's a few from me to get me started, although I'm sure this won't be the last time I post here. XD This will be a long post, because I enjoy not only sharing pictures but the story behind them. ^^

I figure I may as well start things off with a bang, so here's my first boy LaSalle as he was as just a head with his old face-up and old eyes (this was taken for a DoA game mind you), and my cat decided to run up and investigate what was diverting my attention away from him. Token backyard overrun by high grass. XD

Considering this is "World Where You Live," I thought this would be cute to share. X3

In March 2007 some of the Miami contingent met up at Vizcaya, a historic site (palace and gardens). The place is huge, and photos aren't allowed inside, but we had a grand old time on the grounds. Visible in this picture are kids of mine, NikoMari's, and Wheezy's.

Father and youngest daughter in the front yard. Not much of the yard actually visible because my neighbors across the street were having a huge party so it was nothing but cars behind them. XD

That's it from me, unfortunately, since photobucket seems to take issue with me uploading any more pictures. =_= It was really fun to go back and look for all these pictures, it was like reliving these experiences all over again to an extent. ^^

    19. ^ Yup, definately a mysterious tree.

I took some photos of Sakura in the garden today. Crikey the bees kept flying at me. Then there was a crab spider on the wallflowers behind Sakura eating a bee, which was off putting. I tried to get a picture of it, but the only one that came out in focus only showed its butt. It was quite an interesting looking spider, as it had changed the appearance of its texture to match the petals of the flower.

Here, I bet you can't see the bee-icide taking place. The little rotter hid the body too quickly:

And one of Sakura in mysterious shrubbery, looking mysterious:

I get so many comments on my doll, my doll's hair, MY hair...(my entire head is bright blue. It's a bad day if I don't get at least one comment on it.) 29. Well, I have two homes since I stay with my mother during the week and the father on the weekend. Both live in good ol' JoCo - for those of you North Carolinians - and I love where I live. Sure, the humidity kills me, but I get a break during the summer when I stay with my Aunt & Uncle out in Cali. Woohoo Cardiff by the Sea.

But anyways, it's been gorgeous weather and I couldn't resist taking pictures of the bois for this. This here's at my dad's house. Sorry about the large amount.

Our deck partly wraps around our pool. Once it's completely clean I'll be swimming, woo!

Up on the deck rail. Our "forest" is so gorgeous now that everything is green. The fence'll be taken down and a chain fence will be put up farther back sometime.

Looking back to the trees. As lovely as it can be, it can be effectively spooky too.

Astra sitting on the gate to the back. He's such a country boi, so is Var. I never would've expected them to be.

This cleared way will be where the new fence'll run through. It has an enchanted pathway look. This is just ground level, not so enchanting.

Farther back into the woods. You can see the creek in the back left area. I almost fell getting them on the rocks but by God I was going to do it.

Up out of the woods, on the outside of the fence. That what's it called stuff they're hooked on is so the dogs don't slip through the fence.

Bois posing on the hood of my step sister's '87 Camaro. Yes, it is a convertible.

And that's all for now, I'll get the ones from my mom's house uploaded sometime.

Animemom, please post more power-plant photos! :love Don't ask why, but I've always thought that cooling-towers look so cool in the distance. I went to college in Pittsburgh, & used to take the train there from New Jersey, and my favorite part of the whole tiring journey was getting to see Three Mile Island puffing away.

    40. There's a big new building on campus, that everyone hates because it rises out of the redwoods like a giant cinderblock...but I love it. Five stories up, you get a great view of the bay and the Arcata bottoms.... Or you would, if it weren't so darn hazy. XP
      [IMG]
And then, five stories below, the spread of Humboldt State University.... More controversial buildings that no one likes. The University president, butthead that he is, is trying to bring SoCal to the Redwoods via architecture.... No one is very fond of him. XD

    42. We have some exchange-students (two of Aernath's boys) visiting from Florida, so Samir & Ilya took them out on a nice walking tour around San Francisco. They totally skipped the cable car, Coit Tower, and the Golden Gate (not even the Bay Bridge!), but those boys still absorbed enough local color to fill a Lonely Planet guide.

Here they are figuring out how to get out of Chinatown:

And then going the wrong way & ending up in the shadow of the spooky Transamerica pyramid building.

It's got a real live forest of miniature redwoods (i.e., only office-skyscraper size instead of Beijing Tower size), right here downtown. Who needs a bridge? We got freakin' redwoods!

Now THIS was what they were aiming for in the first place. (They should've made a left on Powell.)

You know what, I think this travelogue may require its own posting! The Florida-boys still have to pose with mine for some farewell pictures anyway, so they'll all be back later.

There's a little statue there that begs to have pictures taken on it. the surface is both slick and uneven. Again, I was really surprised he stayed up there, especially with the high winds we had.

    45. I'm going to take a pretty liberal definition of "local" here... but the North-western corner of Washington has some interesting places to take pictures.

    51. Kanagawa, huh? Cool! I have friends in Sengen, Tsukuba (Ibaraki) and distant family up north in Hakodate (Hokkaido.) Never been to Kanagawa, but I've always wanted to go.

I don't really live anywhere interesting though - just here in an urban town in Pennsylvania. :) Here's a silhouette of Sakuri standing on our walkway with the street behind him.

    53. This thread is just amazing! I love being able to see cities all around the world through the lenses of locals.

Haven't got very good ones at the moment, but here's a few for now:

It looks a lot better in these pics than usual because the fog helpfully obscures the houses on the opposite side. XD

    54. *sigh* Yup. Parts of Canada do not get all that much snow. Ontario actually does get a lot of snow but I live right on Lake Ontario and even though 20 minutes in any direction can have snow up to their eyeballs, my city seems to have an umbrella over it and it just passes us by. Same for rain. 'Tis quite depressing to walk outside and see nothing but brown grass and leaf-less trees.

However, it's not winter now so the brown stuff is green (er, not counting dead leaves..).. Pics taken this past weekend at another park in my town. XDDD
