Event Wonder Festival 2017 [Winter]

Feb 24, 2017

    1. Hi everyone! We just came back from Tokyo, and I thought I'd share a few pics for anyone who's curious about these back to back events.

The Ringdoll fan meeting was organized by the seriously awesome ladies of Garage516. <3 Aside from the eye candy, the food was also excellent, with pizza and delicate cakes to fill you up as you take photos, mingle and shop.

Of course, there's also Ringdoll's stellar exhibit in the Wonder Festival:

There was also a small area dedicated to BJDs in the "indie" hall. There were handmade clothes, anime-inspired props, stands and various accessories. I got a few things for my doll family, including a pair of horns from this seller. The quality is superb.

      For doll families with snipers:

That armor! I was watching them set her up and when I finally saw it up close, I wasn't disappointed. The detailing is impressive.

That's it, I hope you enjoyed the photos. :) Although BJDs aren't the main focus of Wonder Festival, there are still local hobbyists who open booths to showcase their stuff -- if you speak Japanese, all the better because they'll usually be game to talk about their art too. Of course, companies such as Ringdoll and Volks (they participated last year), also hold exhibits.

If, like me, you love figures on top of BJDs, then keep February open! It's a great time to visit Japan. You might want to check out Dollyteria, DOLK, Mandarake and the Volks store as well.

    2. I had no idea that there was BJD stuff at Wonder Festival! :D Thanks for posting these photos, they're super cool.

Do you have the circle name of the maker of those horns?

    3. On their card, it says "gensoudoll". They also sell jointed hands and feet for 60 cm dolls too from what I know. :)
