Hi everyone! We just came back from Tokyo, and I thought I'd share a few pics for anyone who's curious about these back to back events (Wonderfestival on a separate post ). Ringdoll and Garage516 did a fantastic job on everything. Even though there was a language barrier, they all did their best to communicate with Hubby and I, even translating the map and the program guide in English. We were so touched! The staff was so kind, they even let me borrow some bandwidth to use for my purchase -- Kylin. I was so excited, I paid right away even though Cherry told me she could wait for me to do that later in the evening. Ringdoll had a presentation explaining how they came up with the concept for Red King. We could only understand bits and pieces of it since it was all in Japanese, but basically they said that they considered the Queen from Alice in Wonderland, along with movie references like the Red Queen (from the Resident Evil movies) and bits and games like Alice Madness Returns. I was too shy to get more but...the tiny cakes. So delicious. My Sleepy Sol. Huang Shan was kind enough to sign his head cap so I don't know if I'll even have the guts to paint him until I practice...a lot. Of course, the loot. They gave free eyes, postcards and stickers for the fan meet: And finally, my new guy. I still can't believe it *~* I've been waiting to get him for so long...but he was worth the wait! Ok, spam over! I hope you liked them. Please do ask if you want additional photos of anyone, I might have a few more angles here and there. Seb and Ciel were a hit for sure, although I couldn't quite catch if they ended up for sale on the spot like the rest of the Ringdoll crew.
I would love to see more photos! I really love Ringdoll dolls and I'm so happy that they have made Kuroshitsuji's dolls (although I doubt I'll ever buy them). Also, thanks so much for sharing!
@YellowRaven No problem. I knew it was a long shot but I was kind of hoping to meet some of you guys there too, maybe to talk to in person and fangirl, etc. etc. Perhaps if I'm able to make it to a major doll con I'll meet some DoA members -- I was hoping for Hong Kong Dollvie, but I likely can't since one of my closest friends is getting married the day after. For now, I'm happy enough to be able to share these. There's a few more in the Wonderfestival thread here in the galleries.^^ "Whatever my master wishes." And these two cuties:
@Valesca thanks so much for the extra pics! Ah, it would be great to meet some DoA members tbh though I'm from Italy so I don't know if I will ever have the chance :/ Also congratz to you friend for getting married
Thank you. I wasn't sure since I bought as shown from their website. The wig makes a difference for him. I'd love to be able to go to one of these doll events. I've gone to IDEX before and loved it, just wish I could get to go more often.
Thanks @YellowRaven ^^ And there are doll conventions in different parts of the world anyway. One day... @Mrkendoll1 Yup, Ringdoll does switch the wig sometimes. Like Dracula, for instance -- he has a black one by default but I think he looks better in the short blonde wig they gave him for the exhibit. Merlin looks real charming in his mussed up hair in the promos though...makes you want to fix it for him. And yeah, I wish it were possible to always go to cons. My wallet would hate me for sure.
I bet mine does for all the dolls I've bought since Christmas!! Thank you again for sharing your pictures!!
The red queen is so...! I'm new to this so that's probably the most elaborate doll I've seen thus far, are the horns illuminated from within? So cool
