Ordered August 26 2015 Shipping Notice December 21 2015 Arrived Home December 29 2015 (Picked up on 23rd, 4 days to get to New Zealand, 2 days in customs, 1 day with courier, pretty good considering it was over Christmas!) Here is my box opening She is my first Withdoll, I had a bit of trouble getting her shipped, the company has been having delays with this particular sculpt due to costume parts and faceup delays, but I kept talking to them and eventually she was sent. I ordered - The event doll Adriana in real skin UV with company faceup - The costume (a black circus outfit with shoes) - The extras (a mask and 2 daggers) - Special eyes (sparkly...) - The bonus cracked head without faceup The shoes are going to be shipped separately. Both my DOT boys are in pieces currently waiting for body blushing to be finished, but Seraphine, my Dream of Doll U-i was able to be a part of her arrival. I'd gotten the notice that she was released from customs and being couriered, and I was so excited, I literally squealed "That's my box!" and jumped up and down when the courier arrived. He smiled at me like "yep, humor the crazy lady". Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr The loot Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Acrylic eyes, no eyes in doll, so no eye putty. This required a hurried drive out to buy some at 5:20pm when the store was going to close at 5:30!! Quickest shopping trip I have ever done. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Sparkly event eyes... so sparkly. (Not a great photo though, apologies) Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Cont. next post
Cracked head Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Identifying marks - gold foil stamp in top, F. 3 in inside of the head. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Event mask Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Certificate of Authenticity and daggers Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr The black dagger has a lot of marks on the blade which made me sad. Part of the blade, not able to be cleaned off, so I've emailed Withdoll to ask for a replacement. The clear dagger was fine. The costume Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr When I tried the costume on her I ended up with black marks on her straight away. So I'm going to have to VERY carefully clean it I think with white vinegar or some such to try colour lock it a bit. Cont. next post
(Some of these pics have a moderate/restricted safety filter in Flickr, so if you can't view them please let me know. I can, but it may just be because I'm logged in. I take the bbcode then set their safety level afterwards in order to post them.) Meeting my Adriana!! Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Standing in box, the body really is beautiful. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr For those that don't know, Withdoll have only recently released SD sized dolls, they're most well known for their MSD and smaller. The knees are different from my DOT's. I don't like how they look, but I do love how they function. So posability wins. She also has a little locking feature on her torso that makes her posing leaning forwards or backwards easier. I really appreciate this. I also LOVE the little top part they've got on the head cap. It means you have to sit it into the top, then it closes with the magnet. This means it'll be much harder for the head cap to pop off when I'm playing with wigs which is great. She has the large bust option. I'm kinda wishing I'd gone small bust (for the sake of her character) but the sculpt is nice. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Company faceup. True to their pictures, love her freckles. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Extra hands and heel parts (The hands hold the daggers, I tried! It's a tight fit though, that may mark the handles.) Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr With her glass eyes (Leekeworld 14mm) and her wig for when I sort my Alice in Wonderland cosplay. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Her character wig. Both wigs are Crobidoll 8 inch. They fit PERFECTLY. I'm so happy. Withdoll Adriana box opening on Flickr Cont. in next post
In her event outfit. (Which took a lot of time to get on, only to take photos and take it off again lol.) I'll post a few of her in her character outfit later. But for now, I am pleased to introduce Clary Alice, my Withdoll Adriana the Circus girl 2015.
@NekoNyanMew Yes, she was. I'm so in love with her face sculpt. She's the perfect shell for the character I wanted. (Clary from Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments book series). I wasn't sure how she'd look in real skin, but I'm happy to say it is lovely. She's my first non normal skin tone!
Man, I was so debating on getting this girl myself! I'm so happy to see owner pics of her, thanks for sharing. I just adore that faceup with those bold but manicured brows and subtle smattering of freckles. She looks wonderful in RealSkin, big congrats to you! Her clear daggers are awesome too! Too bad about the clothing marking her up, but I'm glad it can be fixed.. do you just rinse it in a vinegar water solution? It doesn't make it smell like it's pickled then? I never thought to do this.. I hope it helps, it's a great costume.
@faireva Yep her freckles are darling. The marks came off with magic eraser easily. I've previously done half and half white vinegar and water. As long as you let everything dry properly it doesn't smell. I think you're supposed to rinse too. I've also heard salty water is good for colour fixing? Hmm *goes off to search forum for other people's methods*
She looks lovely! Great to see the sculpt in that color resin as well. ^_^ Congrats and hope to see more of her!
@sammyjo421 Indeed we do, I'm still going to be lurking around the Waiting Room so that I can see when other Adrianas arrive. @Sianserais Thank you, I do plan on posting/taking more photos, when the New Year's tasks are finished. For now she's keeping me company doing things like the new budget and accounts. Here's a pic of her in her normal dress. Clary my New Years girl on Flickr
@Chameleon I have a "Jace". His name is Cassiel, but he's a character mix of several book inspirations, one of which is Jace. Clary I don't currently have other character influences for, so it felt perfectly natural to name her from her book inspiration. All my dolls have ended up as their own unique characters that were developed from a mish mash of other characters. It's fun because I can then pull from certain influences when I'm feeling more in that kind of mood.
@rex and @Hervoyel Thank you for your kind words. The mask is all Withdoll I'm just lucky enough to have had the funds to snatch her up with the accessories.
I have such a growing love for Withdoll's dolls! What an amazing fullset. The body is gorgeous too, I had no idea Withdoll made such amazing SD bodies! What a babe, congratulations on getting her!
Omg! She is drop dead gorgeous! Congrats on her! I was really debating whether or not to order her but at that time, I was waiting on my doll. She eventually slipped my mind. But! Seeing your photos makes me want to have her now! Omg!
@19rocks I know right! I'm looking forward to trying a faceup on it. I don't have a white skin body for it, but I was thinking maybe I could use it as a "mask" type hybrid... or something. @kia20 and @Dawn Thanks! If you're keen and able... there are still more left. As sammyjo421 said, we need more Adrianas in this world.
thanks for sharing I was really interested to get her and am glad to see pics of her in person. i love the daggers and mask.
Her faceup looks soooo nice. Much better than I thought. Her body looks really good, too. I bookmarked WithDoll.
Wow, she is beautiful! I really love the outfit (that mask is just to die for!) but her beautiful face-up is great with or without the mask! ♥ I am a sucker for freckles. :P
She is stunning! I was tempted to buy her when they first released her. So nice to see such an elaborate box opening of her. Her cracked head and mask are so special. I love the wig you picked for her, really makes the character. Congrats on a beautiful doll!
Her eyes and hair are such deep, rich and vibrant colors. Great faceup too, very photogenic. Such a beautiful doll!
Thanks so much for stopping by everyone. It's nice to know others appreciate it when you go to the trouble of recording and sharing a box opening. You're all awesome!
Amazing! Fell in love with the sculpt! How is her posing? She seems to be good at holding them? Am I right?
I'm so glad I found this box opening because now I want her even more !! Those freckles on her faceup are absolutely adorable~
@Elfvan88 I like her posing. I don't tend to do anything particularly challenging with posing. But she stands well, and I really like the chest lock they have. She tends to need to have her top torso forward when sitting so she won't fall backwards. And when standing, the torso is positioned straight. The daggers fit in her hands but it's a tight squeeze. They ain't moving. @Effulgence Glad I could help.
