Okay, I paid my Priscilla yesterday and now she's "before shipping". Did they have an extra one somewhere around or what?

 

Mista: "Before shipping" just means they got your order and is working on it. It'll change to Shipping or something similar when it's actually being shipped. Mine's been on "before shipping" for months now.


I'm highly upset too... they said it'd be next week... a few weeks ago. I'm about to go visit family for two months and she's not going to be here in time. Hopefully my husband can get her and she won't get sent back for not being picked up. UGH.

 

But they had "payment received, order confirmed" or something before that. I thought they change it to "before shipping" when they are doing face-ups, clothing etc.

This was from discussion part 5. They might have changed this, and I don't see how they could have casted Kyle in just a week. And Priscilla in a day... no way. But one can hope, no?

 

Been waiting about 4 months for my Priscilla to change from before shipping to shipping. I paid her in full back in mid Feb.

They told me they're waiting for the Priscilla heads to come in before they can ship them out.

Call Me Stephanie- I'm with you. They lie every time when they say they'll ship it next week. Its driving me up the wall. They shouldn't give an estimate if they can't guarantee when they'll come. >_<

WD released a notice saying that they outsource face ups and clothing. Meaning most of the delays are caused by the third parties not getting the items to them in time. They promised shipment within 1-2 weeks for the delayed orders, but who knows if the other parties included will be able to keep to that timetable...

 

I didn't get a face up or an outfit. She's blank with no extras >_<

I had no idea they outsource, well I guess I will wait to order Aiden then, don't want them to get backed up with a lot of orders, but I guess that is happening anyway.

I know it's not much right now, but... the wait is so totally worth it.

And yes, they outsource clothing & wigs and extra stuff, just like nearly all other companies as well :3 I didn't knew they outsourced face-up's thought. Delay could also be with the ones doing the casting for them. If the quality isn't good, they'll have to wait for them to re-make the parts done wrong or not good enough.
I dimly remember there was a case of quickly cracking knee joints with the girls about a year or so ago. Since then they probably got more careful...

Call me stephanie, but you got a rosy brown (UV) doll? That is one of their most popular event colours and it's also the second hardest for them to cast. Its success rate is 70~80% (and in high humidity that we're approaching it can be as low as 50%), meaning they have to re-do the parts each time they don't come out well. Rosy brown always takes longer than anything else because there are also a ton of orders for it.

Snowy, WD does their own casting, but they do have to re cast some of the darker tones a lot because they're difficult to make, so that causes delays.

As for this topic of them 'lying' every time they promise a shipping time again... I understand it's frustrating they can't give a realistic timetable, but they say the date they're trying to make. It's the same with most Asian companies. If you're waiting for a face upped doll and the face up artist says next week, they'll say next week. But if the artist has delays and isn't able to ship the head back (or something happens to it in the mail), they can't possibly send the doll without a head. Same with dolls where there's a problem with casting or they realize something is wrong in the assembling phase. They can't send you a low quality/broken doll. But they also can't possibly tell their customers "Sorry, we don't know." because that would be even more unprofessional. They're going with the best estimate they have, even though it's often a little too optimistic. I can't remember when I'd ever gotten a doll in the time a company has promised me, which is why I rarely even bother to ask. x_x

 

D: Aw are they backed up that bad?? I was gonna order my doll tomorrow...

But I was gonna ask you guys for pictures of Angela and Emma, if you have any. Preferably in the real skin color?? ; D ; I'm so torn. I was ready to order Angela, and then I saw Emma and I just don't know what to do with myself!

For those of you waiting, I hope your dolls ship soon, arrive safe, and are everything you dreamed of!!

 

They're really not that backed up. Some people that have ordered this month have gone almost immediately into before shipping. It just greatly depends on what you order, in what colour and what order they're doing things. So if you happen to order something they're just about to cast and there aren't a lot of people with the same thing, you'll get yours faster. I only waited for my normal skin doll from them for about 2 months (during a time they were supposedly backlogged), but all my greys and rosy browns have taken at least a month longer.

 

Mista Isilme Before Shipping is that the doll has finished casting and is already on the sanding/faceup part. If you did a layaway, they maybe produced them from before. Or they maybe got a cancelled order... anyways, my last "before shipping" lasted a month an a half, so you still have some waiting time.

Advntr.gal try asking if they can ship it soon, and if they delay is on the cothing or faceup. I hope you will get her soon!

derilan85 it probably was the even what caused the delay, I know they got lots of orders for the tinies.

AKAmbrose it is like Yenna sais... some colours get casted faster. My NS girl also got here really soon.

 

Hopefully those of you who have been waiting awhile for your orders will get them soon. It always sucks when a company gets backed up when you are one of the ones waiting on a doll!

So here is Muse with the guy that was meant to be her boyfriend. Chaos. He ended up being bigger than I originally planned but even if he were on the smaller body his head would be the same size. WD dolls have tiny heads. Does anyone think they look too miss matched in size to be a couple? I may still have them be couple because they look cute together, even with the odd size.

Yenna: Ah thanks for telling me. I know rosy brown and grey take longer, but do you know anything about the real skin?

 

I didn't know that about the colors. I wish they'd have noted that. Either way, I just got a shipping notice. Should only take a few days to get here so I think she'll make it JUST in time. I already have stuff ready for her. Not the best of things, but I don't have another MSD and I wanted to custom make her things so I had to wait until she got here to make her outfits/wigs/etc.

 

Musume: Yes, I know that it'll probably still take forever and a week but as I ordered them without face-up... And as I said, one can hope. I'm happy if I get them home during summer. ^^

Got my new Juwel in today, he's a non-UV tan with default faceup. He's with a real-uv ruby

 

They look a bit mismatched, I have to admit, but are terribly cute as a couple! Chaos seems to be very happy hugging Muse

the skin colours are quite different, Call Me Stephanie. I compare Brown Tan to coffee with cream and Ruby to Milk tea.

He was ordered direct from the company, lemonlime, during an event so the regular brown tan was available

 

Hello there. I've never really popped into a discussion thread before, so I figured the Withdoll one would be a fun start. ^^ Here's my Emma in the grey skin. I really love how she's made so I've decided to pair her up with a Kyle someday.

 

ShadowedForce your Emma is lovely! There are too few of them, it's always nice to see her. I'm waiting for Priscilla, but it was a very hard decision between her and Emma. And I'm waiting for Kyle too, hopefully you'll get yours soon too ^^

Lucky XIII I've had the same problem with my friend when we paired her MNF Chloe with my IoS Sezz, but despite the size difference they look cute together and it's what matters! Your pair looks adorable in my opinion!

Poor withdoll, always so busy. They have such fantastic dolls, it's no surprise they have to deal with a milion orders. I ordered 2 dolls, one tan and the other tan uv and both arrived together and after the promised 2 months. I guess I was lucky.

I did a few things, like the cape, shield, tiara/helmet-thing...but the skirt and blouse I bought them online. I wish I was skilled enough to make a full costume.

Oh I missed this @Musume Thanks! I had quite the problem finding the right eyes for her due to Withdoll's sculpt needing smaller ones and part f her wig is braided but it's not noticeable in the photos :3

 

I plan to do a box opening She's left Barton Rouge earlier, it's only an hour and a half away. She's due to be here tomorrow!

I love love love this thread because it's so informative! Yenna, the information about the rosy brown skin tone was amazing to know! If you don't mind my asking, which one is the number one hardest to cast?

Also. I totally caved, went in with a friend on two of the ice cream children (Strawberry and Chocolate) (on top of Aiden and Kyle) ... missed Vanilla but who knows, maybe she'll show up on the marketplace in the future! If I ever post enough to get there. XD

... I am horrified. I just checked the order status to screen print to show that I ordered Ruby... and they changed it to Emma! I KNOW I ordered Ruby!?!?!?!

I'm sorry they made a mistake with your order (it happens, companies get orders mixed up), but I'm sure they'll send you the head you ordered once you let them know. However, if you want a quick(er) reply, do not send them an email. Use the Q&A board of the 1:1 form.

The hardest one is the non-UV rosy brown colour, because it's urethane and the darkest tone they have in that lineup. The darker the tone, the harder it is to cast. It's why companies charge more for their darker + special tones.

 

Some how my order says Emma now... and I know it said Ruby before... but I don't have proof. I'll send them a message but I'm not holding my breath. T_T

No, they never sent me one. I know a lot of companies who don't so I didn't think anything of it.

 

Maybe the paypal mail ? if you paid by paypal.

Its indicate on my paypal mail for me..

 

They didn't send an invoice, I just sent the payment on my own and labeled it the order number, not any description. *le sigh* I guess that's my fault.

 

Oh right, apparently they don't send them... I always copy my ordersheet when I order because I'll need it for customs, so I haven't had a problem like that...

I'm sorry to say this... but you probably ordered the wrong doll by mistake, as you also got Emma's wig. Withdoll would not change the doll in the ordersheet unless you requested it (and even then, I don't think they change the info on the site -they just add a note to themselves). ^^; So, no matter what changes you request to your order afterwards, your account will always have the original order visible.

 

They changed my address after I asked them too a few weeks ago, it's different on my order sheet now.


I just checked my history from when I ordered... I wasn't even on the Emma page that month O.o
