Withdoll 60cm discussion

I'm just sad he's only in normal pasty skin tones. I want him in grey.

 

Does anybody have an idea if they are Volks matching?

 

I still love the new guy. Sad he's limited because I'll have to pass him up for now. I do want to get one of those bodies. Maybe after they make any adjustments and offer it separately. I need bodies for floaters.

 

Is it just me, or does the new Alan remind anyone else of Fairyland's Karsh? He's pretty cute, and not what I expected.

 

He does resemble Karsh a little bit. Maybe that's why I like him so much (Karsh is my fave FL sculpt ever).

 

I love Alan and I think he'd make a great girl. Does anyone know withdoll allows ordering boys on the girl body?

 

I doubt Withdoll would do it with limiteds. When the two big girls first came out, I asked about getting Margarets head on Cecilies (or whatever it is) body and they said no because 'they were characters and changing the bodies would be against the character'. or something silly like that. So you'd probably have to buy the full Alan plus a girl body, then try and sell the boy body off.

 

Oh bummer!

 

I also wish that grey or tan were offered for Alan. I'm kind of surprised they aren't.

Does anyone have a link to the resin colors available from withdoll? I've been trying to search for all the differences between their white, cream white, rose white and normal at least to see the what my options would actually be for him and I can't seem to find a page that links me to their resin offerings.

Thankfully my wallet is safe from the new boy; though he is cute. I'll be curious to see how everyone finds the boy body. It looks pretty good but like someone already said his feet do look rather small.

Alan is wonderful, but...I only want his bodies. Haha............
I need a boy bodies for my doll. I wish Withdoll can only offer bodies but set.

 

They'll probably sell it separately eventually, just like the girl bodies. They also said that it is not in the final stage yet (waiting to be reviewed) so they can do improvements.

 

It's been updated now and blue and grey are both showing as options for him!

 

What does their sweet blue resin look like? It wasn't shown on that resin sample page.

 

I have a Cecily in Sweet Blue. It's a very light blue. It's hard to capture the exact colour in photos but it's probably slightly lighter than it appears in this photo.


WithDoll's company photos show Cecily in Sweet blue too: :::::::::: WITHDOLL :::::::::: but it's much bluer than it looks in their photos.

Definitely some kinks they could work out(Then again I'm used to SD13 boys who are...Not particularly mobile... so I'd barely notice probably rofl), but he's definitely a good-looking chunk of beef.

He seems like it'd almost be smarter for clothes to lean towards 65cm-type rather than 60cm? Assuming the measurements don't change much if they do edits that torso seems like it's going to be too big for any tighter SD13-size clothing. (Plus thunder thighs, I made the mistake of getting my Egon some tight-fitting MSD pants which are now slightly loose pants on my OD Tae rofl)

Even with the potential posing issues I'm really looking forward to his arrival.

Other than the 65cm potentially having the nicer hip joints I'll live without having that though I think. The Yukinojo I used to have was right at the limit of how big I'm willing to go for dolls rofl.

 

I think it's really cool that they sent out a prototype and took feedback like that. I haven't heard of any other doll company doing that.

 

Do you guys know if the female body can be Volks compatible?

 

Withdoll are a really great company, I wish there were more people ordering from them so we could se more of their pretty sculpts I'll be waiting to see owner pictures of Alan, he was a little tempting, but my doll funds are going elsewhere this year for sure.

Since I feel like we always need more pictures in this thread, here's one of Pine in her new dress from Kalcia on Etsy. I decided pink was her thing.

 

Finally, after spending what felt like forever trying to decide what I wanted my SWD Vera Light to look like I have my girl almost finished. I am just waiting on another wig, as I am not sure about this one. Her faceup and clothing are all down to the very talented @Takhisis who managed to deliver perfectly what I have envisaged Vera to look like.

 

I'm looking for some really brightly coloured long muti-toned wigs for my Adrianna.
Can anyone suggest somewhere? I've tried For My Doll, licht, dollheart, leekeworld and checked out Etsy.

 

For something like that, it sounds like you're going to end up with an alpaca wig. If you go into the marketplace, there is a section for custom made wigs. Just note that alpaca wigs are very expensive. Your other option would be to put up a want to commission and specify a synthetic wig if you don't want alpaca. Finding a multi color wig already done is hard to find, unless you only want two toned wigs.

I finally got a shipping notice for my Alan today! So excited.

 

He actually arrived yesterday but I got lazy. XD;

I still need to get him a better wig and better eyes. >_>; So hard to find green wigs that aren't pastel or girly though.

 

I'm waiting on a light Vera as well in Grey skin and I'm so excited. Thankfully my friend mentioned she was released to order again because she's one of my grail dolls that I though I would never get. can't wait! I love all the pictures you guys have done, it just makes me more excited haha.

 

Congratulations to the people receiving their Alan! He's such a great sculpt, I'm psyched to see more of him. And hooray to @Jglow @hannaliten and @Kremie for bringing more Vera! Always great to see grail dolls being checked off the list.

I was wondering if those of you who have the small chest SD girls (yes, I ordered a Vera too ^_^ are able to provide any feedback on purchasing clothing for them, are there sizing issues you've come across?
I'm looking at fairly generic clothing for the moment, so I don't anticipate many problems but I'm just curious if anyone has had any trial and error.

Hey everyone~ So I’m hoping someone can help me out here, but does anyone know how Withdoll’s resin compares to Crobidoll’s? I was looking at the pictures of their resin samples, and cream white looks like it might match? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

 

I'm afraid I can't help with a white resin comparison as I only have normal skin Withdolls, but I dropped in to share another photo of my Alan. This thread is so quiet! Maybe now that Alan's available with human ears as a non limited doll more will be joining us sometime They've added another big boy, Noah, who's really lovely as well!

 

I have an older Dreaming Doll limited lad who was made by Crobidoll, but I think he's at least a handful of years behind my Withdoll.
I'm more than happy to provide the comparison but I think it would be next to useless to you.

Anyone else pickup Margery or Cecily in this re release? I've had several msd sized Withdolls and they've always been good in my book. I've been eyeing the SWD but the only sculpt I liked was Margery and her release had passed.

When WD announced her re release, I sold off a chunk of my collection in one shot to buy her. I'm so excited now. She'll be my second sd size and I'm loving her waistline. Can't wait .

 

Oof, I think I'm going to pick up a basic Vera in honey-brown before the Korean Thanksgiving day event ends. I'm kind of in love with her company face-up. Just to be sure -- there's no North American dealer for Withdoll, is there? I'm ordering from USA, and there's no N. American dealer listed on their site's "official dealers" list, but I thought I'd just ask to make sure ... If anyone in USA has ordered directly from their site, how was your experience?

 

I ordered directly from the company, and it was a positive experience. Very smooth, easy to pay with PayPal, and no surprises.
