Withdoll 60cm discussion

It can take a month (or more!) when sending mail to Russia. My local post office (I'm in the US) will no longer insure mail going to Russia because they say people steal mail too often there and they are tired of having to cover the costs. Because of that, I no longer send things there because I can't insure or track. I hope your girl makes it to the destination without problems.

 

@LuckyXIII thank you, at least now I know the wait time isn't completely unreasonable and she may yet arrive the stealing thing is concerning though. I'll just keep waiting and hope for the best.

 

My Vera finally arrived and she is beautiful. I am so impressed with her. I now need to get my butt in gear and decide who she is going to be

 

Alright, now that the dust has settled with my layaway and new dolly, I sorta have time to start doing something for my Adrianna. I received her preloved and she is finally going to get the love that she has been waiting for from me. First things first though, does anyone have any tips on how to do faceups on grey skin dolls? NS and WS are pretty simple considering I do them like I would do my own makeup, but I've never owned a grey skin before and my Adrianna is simply stunning in her grey skin. I'm almost afraid I won't do her any justice.

But her legs, man... Legs for daaaayys~

 

Just do it how you normally would and see if you like it. Really light colors don't show too well. If you don't like it, just try again with different colors.

Well, if Withdoll wasn't a great company before, they certainly are amazing now Since it's been like 6 weeks with no word on my girl's head I highly suspect she is lost forever, so in my slight desperation I contacted withdoll, explained the situation and asked if there was any chance I could buy a new head.

What do you know, they said yes! And even though I offered to pay double for the inconvenience they sold her to me at standard price, so nice of them
Of course this head will have to go out for a face up as well, but when she arrives I'm sending her with all the tracking and safety measures possible xD

 

Finally the weather (and other things) allowed me to paint a face up for my Dark Vera, Nemesis. I'm not a 100% happy with the face up, but I don't have enough MSC to redo it so I've gotta wait 'til I have a proper stash of MSC again.

I took a quick photo of Nemesis; she still needs eyes of her own and she's borrowing her sister's body & clothes. Only the wig is actually hers, ahah...

@Yenna thanks! They really were great about the whole thing. I actually got the new head last week and sent it to the face-up artist yesterday (not the same one as before, obviously...)

That dress looks great on Era even if it isn't her style
which reminds me I need to start buying Pine some more clothes before she comes back from her faceup, and for the first time in my dolly buying history I have a wide variety of shoes to choose from!

 

I'm getting nervous guys. I asked with doll when lala would ship on Aug 28th they told me in 2 weeks due to the rainy season. Well it's past those 2 weeks, should I ask again?

This is my 1st new doll in 5yrs full set and I'm excited, nervous and secretly keep thinking she'll show up without me knowing she shipped.

I live in the southern hemisphere and we're now in Spring. Winter and Autumn I dressed up my dollies and wanted to take a photoshoot, but the weather was so crap I never got around to it. Now I have lol, now I can change them into spring clothing. But in the mean time, here's Clary. I love her colouring so much, the eyes with the hair and the real skin.

Clary looks gorgeous as always Buzzibee. I've had my Adriana for ages now and I've sadly done next to nothing with her which I'm hoping to change in the next month or so.

 

@Yenna Yup it is a Crobidoll wig. Their size is great for my in between girl's head sizes. I love all your photos, they're so beautifully constructed.

@diamondust You can use me as motivation I like seeing more of the same sculpts in their different incarnations.

So; I don't know about yous guys but I'm extremely excited about WithDoll releasing a 60cm boy body in December. I wonder what kind of doll they'll make?

 

Thinking about getting one of the bodies to do a hybrid with. How is the posing?

I'm finally getting on to doing my Adriana cracked head faceup. It is ... challenging so far. Will post a pic when I'm done.

 

I'm also very excited about the new 60cm boy, I hope he isn't too pretty because my wallet won't handle it!
The winter 16cm dolls, I wodner if the will just be re-releases? I've been hoping for a Raul re-release since october last year, i regret not getting him when I had the chance!

More on topic, My Adriana was sent off last week to get her faceup done! She had one before by a family member but in the end although it was nice it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I'm also working on her tattoos ( going to make a project journal ) but need to order more MSC.

 

My thoughts exactly I'm very curious though.

 

@diamondust Great news! I'd be interested in your project journal.

I'm doing my own faceup and blushing attempts and it frustrates me that I don't have much time to spend on it at the moment. I've also had to wipe one face (off topic) twice already due to stuff ups.

Man, Adriana's cracked head is a challenge too. I may have bitten off more than I can chew. But as she's a floating head currently, I'm not too stressed. She is definitely good practice.

 

I have the cracked head but tbh I have no idea what to do with it. I got it in the white skintone when my girl is NS because I don't see me using it as anything besides maybe a mask...but really I have no use for it at all.
I might put it on the MP but it's a very strange resin colour so that probably won't help.

I'll link to the project journal when I start it up, thanks for your support @Buzzibee, hopefully this Sunday I'll get a chance to work on it!

 

I gave my Cecily, Avi, a nose job and a new face up some time ago. I'm much happier with her now, she suits my tastes better and looks more like I want her to look. But I haven't taken many pictures of her, agh, my life is too hectic...
But I did manage a couple the other day, so here's one for you of her new look!



I hope I'll get to take some nice snowy photos of her at some point during the winter. I have a feeling she'd look nice in the midst of snow!

Faceup by Annaku

Got the final faceup pictures from the artist who I commissioned. I'm so stoked, this is my lovely Daphne and she's looking gorgeous, there's a purple wig waiting at home for her. Hopefully customs won't hold up the head too long. Still trying to decide if I should go down to 14mm eyes instead. So excited and amazed, I couldn't even wait to get her home before throwing up some pictures.

Finally edited and uploaded my faceup and body artwork. Here's my finished cracked head on my Adriana's Real UV body. (I don't have any white skinned bodies.) White skin is really hard to take pictures of! I'm not a photographer (I did learn, but then promptly forgot after university study). I actually really like the faceup much better in person than in the pictures.

Alan is SO CUTE! I'm definitely going to be ordering him. I had planned on just ordering the body for my LLT Edria head, but I can't resist that face. Can anyone comment on the quality of Withdoll's outfits? Would you say they're worth the cost?

 

I have the outfit my Adriana came with and I was quite impressed with the quality. I'd definitely say her outfit was worth it.


Also.... why did he have to have perfect eyes? I wish they sold those Oscardoll eyes separate. They'd work for my character who already has 4 pairs of eyes hoarded...

I just got an email on my phone from Withdoll about the release of their 60cm boy Alan. He is so wonderful. I really adore his sculpt. But it really came at a bad time. Why does he have to be limited?? Bleh.
