Wilde Imagination Amelia Thimble discussion part 1

Jul 6, 2011

    1. Thank you for the information!
About wigs, I read that her head is more tiny than puki puki, but what about hats?with a wig, is possible that hats for puki puki sizes fit also Amelia (if she wear a wig?) Or a puki puki size hat would be too large too?
From the pic. Amelia head is really tiny !

    2. I would think a PukiPuki hat would fit if she was wearing a wig. But without a wig it would probably cover most her face. They sell Amelia Thimble sized wigs on several sites. I think I got mine off Ebay.

    3. Thank you for the information! ^-^

    4. Hey there! My mom has two Amelia Thimbles and she made the cutest little house for them that she'd like to share with you guys :)

Here's her blurb about it: "I copied the house that was originally done by Jessica at Doll Project. She had used a Paddywhack Lane cottage, but I could not find one anywhere, at any price, so I decided to make a faux Paddywhack Lane cottage out of foam core poster board. I copied Jessica's finished project quite a bit, but I made every single part of mine from scratch, except for the door latch. All the drawers are folded scrapbook paper. I used foam core to make the bed and the window. I spent less than $5 to make and decorate this whole box. The toys and dolls, however, cost more than $5."

If you have any questions I can ask her and reply here!

Here it is all closed up:

    5. Wow! This is awesome, Anamink! Your mom sure did a wonderful job--at a great price, too! If you did not tell me that she created it from scratch, I certainly could not tell it. It looks just like a decorated Paddywhack Cottage. I, too, wanted one of these for my little Amelia, but every time I found one it was quite a bit of money--waaaay over the original price--so I couldn't justify spending that much on it. Your mom's is just as cute as the original and for such a reasonable price--you sure can't beat that! Thank you so much for sharing these terrific pics with us! :daisy

    6. This is Anamink's mom. I wanted to say thanks SO much for the kind words! I had wanted one of those Paddywhack cottages for months, and never could find one. Then, I saw Jessica's original being sold on Ebay last month and I bid on it, but just couldn't go high enough...not after spending so much on the two dolls. So, in my disappointment, I decided to just play around and see if I could make one myself. I am really happy with the way it turned out and it ended up being really easy! Again, thanks very much for taking the time to compliment me on it!

    7. You are very welcome! :daisy

    8. Can someone please PM me with her measurements? I can't find them and I don't have a flexible measuring tape thin enough for her

    9. So ... did I hear right? Wilde Imagination is discontinuing the Amelia Thimble line?

    10. Unless they changed their mind, yes. I got an email a few months back from Wilde Imagination that said they were discontinuing her. :(

    11. So sad - I think they could do great things with her if they'd just redesign her ... slightly different body and some new faces, maybe heads with faceplates. I've purchased on old one that nobody wanted and going to do just that ... Wilde Imagination wants to see it when I get done with her.

    12. SUCH A FANTASTIC JOB!!! YOUR MOM NEEDS TO DESIGN HER OWN AND SELL THE PATTERN!!!

    13. Peggytoes I want to see it when you get done. :) I agree, there was so much potential there. Amelia was my first BJD and I still love her but they could have put some effort into her and she could have been fantastic. Bummer :(

    14. I am waiting for her to arrive and then I will begin on her. I may buy a couple more and make more than one to see which I
like best. So ... I definitely have my eyes out for Amelia's looking to move!

    15. Good luck Peggytoes! Sounds like an adventure :)

    16. Happy New Year, Everyone!

This is an old pic of my Amelia--a year old to be exact. LOL But, I haven't taken any new ones of her lately, so I thought I would share this one, as I haven't posted it before. Amelia and I would like to wish everyone a very blessed New Year! :)

    18. Happy Day to you as well! Amelia looks so cute in that pink wig, and I love her dress! Adorable! :D

    19. Thank you, Lisa! I have had the pink wig for years and it just happened to fit Amelia. :) I made her dress and leggings.

    20. Wow! You sure did a great job making her outfit. The tiny print is so cute--perfect for Amelia. It sure is nice to see a new Amelia pic for this discussion. I wish we had more activity here. I am terrible about taking pics of my dolls, but I will try to take some new pics of my Amelia soon. She needs some love! Maybe we can get some others involved and get this discussion going again. :thumbup

    21. Fantastic job! And it's so cute. She's so little, I know it's really hard to sew for her.

This is a pic I took once for size comparison.

    22. Yes, it would be nice if Amelia got more attention. She really is a cutie! Great comparison pic, brightberry. Yes, trying to sew certain things can be VERY difficult. So many sizes of dolls. Something for everyone!

    23. I have 3 little Amelia dolls and just love them. I am happy to see there is a thread for her.

    24. Isn't she tiny and cute! Which girls do you have? Do you have pictures?

    25. I just read the entire thread! So happy to still see others who love Amelia
I just got 2, over the last few months. Can't wait to share and play

    26. She is very sweet. I only have one, but I love her size!! Very portable!!

    27. Yes,
Opened a flicker to share an image of her in my sewing/knitting box

      Did something wrong ...all fixed

    28. Don't use the image tag in the message box. Just copy and paste the BBCode in your message.

    29. That's wonderful! Congratulations! I am looking forward to seeing a pic of them--twice the cuteness! :)

    30. Thank you!

    31. What a cute pair! It doesn't take much extra weight to make them topple over!

    32. They are very sweet! Love the cute little chair! :)

    33. They really are the cutest little dolls.

    34. They are adorable! Yes, the chair is so tiny and cute!

    35. I have to see if I have the little table, so they can enjoy some tea ;-)

Dottie (her new name) got a new dress, needs to be finished but she had to try it on for me
