Wilde Imagination Amelia Thimble discussion part 1

Jul 6, 2011

1. [h=5]Went to Amelia day today at Summer's house. They put on such a fun day. We got to make almost everything in the picture. Nancy's hubby built the swing, sandbox, teeter totter and trees. We got to decorate them and put some of the pieces together. We made a hopscotch on sidewalk, wagon, decorated the hat and was giving the red strawberry outfit and so much more. I needed a fun day and this sure was it. If you missed it then you will want to come to the one in October.[/h]

2. Lindasews - sure looks like you and all the Amelias had a great time. What a cute playground and cute outfits!

3. Hi fellow Amelia fans! I just got an email from Wilde Imagination announcing 25% off and free standard shipping on everything for Amelia and her friends until July 3rd! No promo code needed, the prices are already marked down on the website. (International customers need to contact WI Customer Service for a shipping adjustment.) Anyway, I scored all the furniture and the sewing box for my spoiled little Amelia "Brooklyn" to live in. :D Happy shopping! ;)

Juli DC :)

4. Oh I'm so tempted. but the box plus 2 accessories would be the same money to but a new Realpuki so I think I have to resist. I'd definitely be buying another amelia if I didn't already have 3 though!

5. Oh I hear you TNT! :lol If I hadn't been eyeing these accessories forever, and if I hadn't just celebrated my b-day this past Saturday, I may not have splurged either. But seeing the Amelia accessories in person during IDEX in April convinced me that my Amelia "Brooklyn" needed at least some of them eventually, and thanks to the timing of this sale for me, I was able to get everything I wanted for my little one. I may pickup a friend for her eventually too, but right now she's got the rest of my teeny tiny crew for company...Pocketfairies, Pukipukis, Realpukis, and the odd anthro too. ;)

Juli DC :)

Peggytoes--Your little elf Amelia is very cute! The way you've painted her face and modded her eyes makes your doll really resemble the logo illustration of Amelia! :love

Lindasews--I love the scene with all the little ones playing in the photo you posted. How fun that crafting playdate must've been! :)

Meanwhile, my sweet Brooklyn got all the goodies I ordered for her today, and it's even more adorable in person than I remembered from IDEX! Although the bed's headboard is a little higher than the ridge that the removal tray fit's into, everything does fit into her Sewing Box and it does close. To protect the headboard, I placed the towel from the bathtub on top. ;) The tricycle is really cute too, and Rags fits right in the back! Even my better half was enchanted by the whole set up. :D

Juli :)

6. I have a new arrival, and here she is making herself at home at the bottom of the Fairy Tree with some books and a dolly. I've really enjoyed looking through this thread whilst deciding to buy her, thanks for all the lovely photos!

7. She is adorable! Congratulations on getting her

8. Congrats, kayjay! She sure is a cute one - love her dress. Did you knit it?

9. Thanks :) No, I'm not talented enough to knit something so tiny, the dress and her dolly were knitted by Carla Benham

10. She is adorable Kayjay:aheartbea

11. Hi Lindasews! What a perfect little kitchen for our Amelias and friends! I missed being able to go the Hallmark Ornament Premiere and pickup my Dream Book, but I'm absolutely going to head to my Hallmark this weekend! This is just the perfect size to fit into her sewing box room too! Thanks for sharing your adorable photo!

Meanwhile Kayjay, Congrats on getting your On Pins & Needles Amelia! I love those little fairy books she has too! :)

Juli DC :)

12. Thanks for the welcome :)

That little Hallmark ornament is very sweet and perfect for Amelia. I don't think we have those in the UK but plenty of dollshouse fairs to go to when I can get organised to do a scale room box for her

13. I watched My Froggy stuff video on how to make tennis shoes for your doll. I made this pair this morning. I will be making alot more. This is my first pair so it is not perfect but hope the next pair will be. I want to make more shoes and boots for Amelia now. Prince Harry grabbed them because his overalls matched. LOL

14. I have just discovered this girl and I am head over heels in love! Next on my wish list!!

I just had time to go through a lot of the posts on here and wowzers you all have adorable little ones and the clothes are to die for:) I'm so excited to be joining the Amelia fan club soon.

15. HAPPY HALLOWEEN...a couple of days early. ;) My Amelia (Brooklyn) and I attended Wilde Imagination's Halloween Convention earlier this month, and my number got picked at our table to purchase the Centerpiece! How could I resist? Just look at it! :) (That's my Brooklyn in her pumpkin outfit in the middle.)

Wilde Imagination has more photos on their site and a few left for sale too!

Juli DC :)

16. Such Cuuuute Pix!!! Congrats on the centerpiece Julidc!!! Very cool!!!

I'm afraid I'm having to sell most of my dolls and so I will be listing my little modded Amelia above very soon. (sniff sniff sniff, waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!)

17. So very sweet! Not even a little bit scared!

18. Got brave and decided I wanted my Little Izzy to have side-glancing eyes.....imagine my surprise (and horror) to find a 3rd eye in the putty in her head.....I nearly fainted, but Izzy only laughed. Wonder what she's going to do with her 3rd Eye??

19. Too Funny ... but a bit scary ltraugh!!!! But hey ... they all seem to match! She was just wanting a scarier than normal Halloween getup!!!

20. Hi, Amelia owners! I am making a wig for this tiny doll and would like to know the exact measurement of her head. (Rather in centimetres, not inches, because in this size inch more or less is a big change!) Could someone help me with this, please? :) Iยดve found from here and google that 3" wigs fit, but as the different wigs may vary by size or be stretchy, Iยดd like to check it out.

(Loving the photos here! <3 These little ones are so cute.)

21. Milly: I just saw your message about Amelia's head size in mm/cm. Just in case you haven't gotten an answer yet in a different thread, I measured for you. As close as I can get: 8.6cm/86mm = 3.38583 inches

Happy New Year from my gang to all of you! I'm really enjoying all the pictures in this thread. Thank you to everyone for sharing.
[IMG] Izzy, Moo, Fiona, Amelia, and John Boy wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year[/IMG]

22. Sorry to barge in ... but can anyone tell me where to find Amelia's full measurements?

23. I forgot to share my new Amelia I got in December 2013! I love this little one. I have named her Briar Rose.
[IMG][/IMG]

24. If I hadn't seen your little one, I probably wouldn't have done what I did! :) Thanks for the inspiration, I ordered IZZY to go with my TD Centaur/Unicorn...have you tried sitting Briar Rose on yours?

25. Yes I have Xanadu Dolls here is a photo of Amelia on my Tiny Delf Centaur Hansel.
[IMG][/IMG]

26. Courtondolls: She looks so cute, I am so pleased she fits on there perfectly. Now I can go ahead with my plans for my Izzy when she arrives, thanks!! (Which of course also means moving on with the Centaur/Unicorn outfits too. ;) )

27. I received my Izzy this week, and sadly realised this size doll is not for me, she's just tooooo tiny.

28. A new faceup for this little girl and a new matching hat and belt!

29. Briar Rose is so cute! I have an Amelia but I really like your wig. Very pretty!

30. Don't be put off tiny dolls, out of all my tinies Izzy is the one I feel is too small. Her tiny hands terrify me!! Yet other dolls this size don't, so I think it's because Izzy is so delicate. Mine is in a box whilst I decide whether to play with her by making a dollshouse or setting for her, rather than dressing/undressing her.

31. Kayjay, I use straws. I am dressing and undressing my Amelias all the time. Their delicate little fingers scare me too. I use a piece of a plastic straw cut the length of her arm (and, of course, covering her fingers). Just squeeze the straw a bit until it is a little flattened. It will slip right over her hand and up her arm. Then, after she is dressed, you can pull the straw off. I use the straws when I pack her in her case to go somewhere too. Hope this helps.

32. That is a great idea, thank you! My friend has an Amelia whose fingers broke off so it scared me even more but I will definitely be trying the straw idea.

33. I've used straws when dressing my Amelia but never thought of using them to protect her hands when taking her somewhere. Thanks JCee for the suggestion!

34. I keep meaning to do this, I rarely change mine. She is the original release as well...before they made wrist connection thicker, I like the way her hands 'fit' better than my Izzy but they scare me. I don't think I've ever shared pics of my Izzy, still trying to decide if I will keep her. I may try a diff wig and eyes first.
Where do you buys eyes this small? I want to try green...

35. I will be receiving my first Amelia any time now. I appreciate all the info I found through out these pages. Thanks everyone.
Does anyone know if any more AT clothes will be released, or more Dolls? My girl will need a sister and I haven't seen a lot on eBay lately. WI seems to be out of stock as well. Does that mean there will be no more from them or are they seasonal...??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

36. Peggytoes, I love your Amelias faceup, she is the best one I have ever seen

37. Dizzy -- i know this is going back in time, but its a very cute ensemble for Amelia & I just love the shoes !! Can you recall where they came from in your orange outfit post? Sorry I though I could forward and paste the image again, but I'm not techie enough to do it!

38. I agree, Rose414! But I am so madly in love with Amelias, they couldn't make too many of them for me. I am hoping the August 27 preview will have some new dolls. Fingers crossed!

Those are adorable outfits on your girls, Scratka-dolls!

39. Like Thimblehouse, I am also counting down to the 27th and hoping some new Amelia's are coming. Can't wait to see the new line up!

40. TOMORROW! I may not be able to sleep tonight! :)

Oh, my goodness! I've lost my heart, mateys! Not crazy about the white dress, but I adore the rest of it.

41. AUG 27 release....I was hoping for a cuter version of Amelia -- not crazy about the hair. Since I have the Amelia Basic 2 this doll just isn't different enough to want to spend the $250 for an outfit or 2. I'll save the $$ for Lati, even though they have excessive wait times that are beyond acceptable. I am a little disappointed : (

42. I'm in the market for a Lati White Basic Arin, but I have to say, those wait times are super ridiculous. Makes me think twice. I think I could make the wig in this new Amelia work for my little Lily girl, who desperately need as new wig. Her bangs are starting to thin out a lot. You can see it in this picture. She's one of the original Amelia dolls, with brown eyes in this picture, although I prefer the blue ones and have since swapped them out. I don't know, maybe the wig in the new Amelia is too light?

43. Thimblehouse, your little Amelia is a sweetie pie -- with the cutest little pusskin friend! Thanks for posting the pic! I totally agree with you about Lati doll delivery timelines. I think that is really unacceptable and like you, makes me enjoy these Amelia's so much more. ( shipped and recieved in a week!! The thing with these little cuties is that there is not much difference in the faces. So for me the new sailor girl is quite a bit like the one I have. I don't dislike her hair ( maybe the color is not so striking), but I do prefer the Basic 2 dolls wig and that is priced at $145. I wonder if they will do another Holloween doll? I have a Boo and she is very cute and has different "face-up".

44. You are welcome! She's my second Amelia, and I adore her. Her name is Lilly, and she is the youngest of my bunch. She loves frogs and lizards and getting dirty. All her clothes have to be frog-themed, or she won't wear them. She even has a little froggie bean bag chair that I made from a sock. She is super spoiled, but then, so are all my girls. LOL

Face-ups and wigs have made a difference for my girls, but you're right - some variety in face sculpt would be awesome. I've tried doing some shading and such, but there's only so much you can do. I was all exited when they announced Izzy, until I realized it was just a different color of resin.

I've decided the color on the new Amelia isn't right for her after all. I probably won't buy this new one. I am really seriously contemplating the Basic Arin doll.

This is Lilly's big sister, Daisy. She is my first and favorite Amelia doll. She loves pink, poodles, and all things girly. I am working on new bedding for her. Pink poodles, of course!

45. Thimblehouse, big sister Daisy is very cute too and she has a great bedroom suite! Just deadly cute! I am with you, I'll watch the Wilde website for items of interest, but I think I'm taking the Lati plunge for my next addition. I keep going back to Belle even though I also love Erin & Laches. Thanks for sharing your pics -- I love seeing them.

46. A great article/blog you wrote Thimblehouse about fabric selection and tiny doll dressmaking. I also find that in my location at least, many of the fabric stores are gone these days - not as much demand I guess. Not that it deters me -- I am addicted to fabric stashing and most I buy online. The bigest problem with that is, unless they show the ruler in the swatch pic, it is very hard to gauge the scale of a print. Definitely a challenge to get cute and tiny prints. Some excellent points you made, and good things to consider, many thanks.

47. I was getting ready to part with my Izzy and then I tried a new wig... she stole it from the RealPukis. Liking her sooooo much more.

48. Me, too! But I moved in December, and I knew I had a LOT less storage room in the new place, so I paired down soooo much. I went from an 8ftW x 3ftD x7ftH foot closet to one shelf on my bookcase and a large plastic tub. It was horrible to have to get rid of so much, but everything I have left I absolutely love and know I will use. Or at least I really HOPE I will!

49. She is adorable!

50. Izzy really suits that hairdo, and a cute outfit too! & Speaking of Real Puki's I've got my eye on one of those too!

51. ooh these little ones are seriously cute!
