Which kind of "fantasy type" dolls do you want the most?

elves will always be my #1 but I also really like heads with interesting ears? Like when they make them little wings, or animal ears are fun! I also really like extra limbs.

 

I already have my dream fantasy doll of a drow elf inspired doll, but i'd also love to get a vampire bjd.

 

I would like a dark angel and maybe a couple of vampires. The wings are on their way, so I'm very inspired

 

Right now I have one fantasy doll, Somnambulinsomia Elf Dahlia Lusion. I love elves so would definitely add more at some point.

 

Not sure if this is strictly fantasy, but... I want armour parts. Helms, coronets, lower face armour, breastplates, vambraces, greaves... separately cast bits, or exchangeable armoured body parts. I have no interest in fantasy body parts and much prefer human dolls, but I really want resin armour they can wear.

LUTS has done some limited edition dolls in armour - that's exactly what I like. I'm sure there's more out there I haven't seen yet!

 

Those are pretty common, but elves and, to a lesser degree, vampires. I am not too fond of extreme body parts such as detachable horns, wings etc. Seeing those on other people dolls is not a problem, and I really enjoy weird fantasy dolls, but for me it would overcomplicate. Pointed ears and sharp teeth is something I can live with

 

I want a harpy body type, or where the arms are wings and the legs are talons. I do see a few companies that made these bodies, but all of these models are no longer available for sale. I can't find a blank second hand body either.

 

Currently I am absolutely in live with the idea of an angel doll! I've been looking all over for some msd angel wings that I like but I am just soooo picky and the only ones I want are out of stock on the website. So I'm just dreaming about it for the moment.

 

I would love bird inspired dolls with the talons of a raptor (and big, articulated wings). Unfortunately, most of those kind of dolls seem to have very bulky and compact feet which I assume is for stability, but I really don't like the look of.

I also haven't seen any with tail feathers. Regular mammal or dragon tail seem to be more popular, but I'd love a tail piece I could fan out.

Other than that I don't think I've seen any male mermaids that aren't boyish but also not bulky men with ripped muscles. I mean, male mermaid are rare enough, but just slender/lightly build ones seem non-existent.

I'd love a slender, male mermaid with a long tail...

14. A jack in the box style bjd that pops out of the box sort of like jhope's hope in the box merch, but the doll's body pops out with only having a torso, head, and arms. This probably doesn't exist, but I would like one.

15. I think I want to take my fantasy color resin dolls and mix and match the body parts with different resin colors and different size parts to make a Frankenstein style bjd. Is this possible? I would like a doll like this.

16. A shape-shifting doll that shifts into a cat human hybrid or a tiger human hybrid or it can be any animal.
17. A snake doll with the face of a human

18. A doll that comes with tons of face plates of different face sculpts, different body parts, and magnetic accessories such as animal or mythical parts to make it into a shapeshifter. It would be nice if it had like a translucent silicone skin (or any material that works) that can be worn or taken off like it's skin is coming off as it shapeshifts. It would be nice if there were some translucent body parts like it's torso or something that you can see the shapeshifter's heart and organs, but nothing too grotesque. Also a faux fur for the doll to wear when it shapeshifts to an animal. One face plate I would like to see of this imaginary doll is a face that is exaggerated contorted in pain for showing the pain of shapeshifting. I imagine shape-shifting as painful. Also want scales to add to the doll or have option to have parts with scales on it for any dragon or reptile shapeshifting.


19. A bjd fantasy doll sort of like those Russian nesting dolls. I want it to look like an egg with the outer layer having limbs and the inside dolls being eggs like its giving birth to more eggs. The last baby egg I want it to have a hidden chick inside.

 

More orc and goblin dolls!
I only know of two orc dolls. I would love them to be more muscular as well!

 

I kinda want a mermaid, but I would rather do a fabric tail add-on than a sculpted tail.

 

I really wish there would be more Orc dolls. I like their fangs but they're not as common as vampires, centaurs, mermaid or even "demons" of sorts.

I would love to see a doll that resembles a Gelfling from the Dark Crystal. Or alien/monster humanoid dolls with weird parts like gills, strange hands, jointed tails, unique ear and nose shapes, ect. Also, nagas!!! I would love a naga boy.

I really want more big doll elf options!
I've seen a handful of smaller elf doll options, but when it comes to 80cm, you gotta get the doll and head you like then build elf ears for them TToTT, would love more elves and more kitty girls!

 

This has always bothered me, too! There are so many dolls that look wonderful with animal ear parts but I would never buy because of the uncanny double ear situation. A shame for my collection, but good for my wallet at least.

 

I would love to see a fully sepentine fantasy doll. Like, kind of like a scaley, for lack of a better comparison. I'm not a big fan of fantasy sculpts that are just a normal human head and body with slightly altered legs and arms. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about because that's by far the most common way they're done. I want more things that fully commit to the humanoid animal fantasy sculpts, like Doll Chateau Carol! I'm so bored of centaurs and altered legs (especially bird feet, hooves, and dragon feet).

 

Like many here I wouldn't mind a sweet vampire or elf although that's barely removed from a human. I would also love an anthro head without ears, because I like the anthro face but I'm not fond of the double ear or attached ear situation... I'd like to use wigs and making some soft animal ears without the extra human ears or hard animal ears. And I could definitely fall for a beautiful naga, no doubt Fantasy dolls I avoid are ones that take up a lot of extra space, like wings or a centaur. it's not that they aren't beautiful, but my display space is kind of limited, and with pets it's not so easy as adding any old shelf I would be so scared of them getting knocked down. But I could make it work, if I found the perfect naga

I really like the centaur antropod sculpts. I have Doll Chateau's Charon who is a scorpion lady, and I currently have a dream valley mantis lady on layaway through Denver Doll emporium.

I am really sad I missed out on Doll Chateau's boy scorpion person and the spider sheep people. I would love to own those one day.

I have one deer girl, and would love to have a little herd join her... and I definitely go wild for mermaids, though I haven't added any to my collection. I've got one elf passing as a vampire (since I missed out on getting vampire Pan, but loved him too much not to go home from the con with one, I figured white skin and elf ears, he just didn't have his fangs out on display)... but what I need now is a werewolf to go with him. Fangs, sharp nails, tan resin, and somewhat pointed ears would be ideal, but I figure I can style any doll that looks good next to him if I can't find a werewolf.

Anthros are what led me to BJDs, so I'm always happy to see more of them. What I feel like there's a real big hole for right now, though, are 1/4 to 1/3 scale fantasy critters, particularly dragons. I'd love to see more dragons that aren't humans with horns and wings.

 

I can't for the life of me remember who the artist was, but I saw someone making and selling an Egyptian god, Horus, doll. You could change the head to be of an eagle or of a man. As someone who loves ancient Egyptian stuff, I was salivating. An Anubis doll or Bast female doll would be pretty sweet. Other than that, some nice fantasy colored skin. I love glitter, too, but I don't know how you could combine the two without it coming off looking cheap if that makes sense.

 

That would be story_of_seventh_day, Horus and Set are amazing (Horus was out of my price range, and Set will be too no doubt). I do have a Soom Anubis hybrid (I swopped the body out), still regret not getting their Bast

I love fantasy dolls, and I think all my future doll purchases will be fantasy in some way. I love anthros, (more than half of my collection and wishlist are anthros now,) and I would love to have an elf or fae someday.
As much as centaur dolls impress me, I don't think I'll ever own one.

 

Dying for Mature (more defined features/chiseled jaw) 1/4 Vampire guys that are 45-47cm instead of 51+/not fashion scale.

I also think a Medusa would be cool to have, with magnetic/detachable snakes.

 

I love cutesy tiny anthro type dolls like DearMine and Cocoriang! I love making little scenes with them like they live in a tiny fairy house together

 

I would like a faun/satyr, dragon, unicorn, and fairy with poseable wings. I like fantasy type dolls so much.

 

I personally really love elves, I always wanted to have elf boy and now i have 4. Also i really like dolls with animal bodies and so i have wolftaur and deertaur

 

I want a good looking female spider head with multiple sets of eyes. There's the girl version of Ling Tai Zhu Hong, but I don't love the sculpt too much and it doesn't come in 1/3.

 

Anything with fantasy colors, or the animal legs like the old Soom Gem monthly dolls. But mostly fantasy colors. It's to the point I am irritated my collection has no fantasy colors at all.

 

Right now I want a dragon girl and an oni girl. Still looking at brands and character ideas and stuff, but it's fun just "window shopping". Sad that Dream Valley's Collier Dragon ver. is going away soon and I have no money... them's the breaks. My doll I just ordered is grey and has elf ears, that's got to count for something haha.

 

I've always wanted a dollzone's lovers. the fantasy dolls combined with the botanical imagination are so beautiful.

 

Special ears of any kind as well as fangs are (almost) always welcome.
If available I usually get the human and the fantasy version of a sculpt.

 

Robots, which are surprisingly rare given how fitting they are to BJDs, thematically. For some reason only Dlace and a few others have ventured into robotic BJDs, and make them very artsy and elaborate.

I honestly love the variety there is right now, but i will keep saying the same thing: more MSD sized, mature male fantasy dolls, like Souldoll Berial!

Adding onto the robot idea, some mechanical take on dragons/faun or other mythological creatures would be really cool as well.

 

Dragon girls. Fairylands Sircca was perfect but out of my budget for the time being. I’m hoping Dream Valley will bring out a female dragon like Sylves or their new boy. Collier and Silina have too small feet for my tastes.

 

Seconding the robot comment, I still really haven't found one to my tastes! Also DZ Yin Long is exactly my taste but is out of my budget range for the foreseeable future, even with a layaway. Dragons in general are one of my favorite fantasy sculpt themes, and I want so many of them it's hard to count lol. I also really enjoy cat sculpts, but are those considered fantasy?

 

This is really specific, but a robot/cyborg esque doll with more parts that are interchangeable or removable in cool ways. Like a cyborg arm that’s storage for a dagger or something, a removable heart with metal and more “human” options, etc. I think that would be pretty wicked!

 

I dunno, there are so many possibilities as the world of myth and lore is enormous yet it’s only the same handful of subjects that get used again and again and quite often in a very half arsed way. There’s a whole world of worlds to explore!

I’d like to see more ‘wee folk’ with character filled faces for a start, not just sticking elf ears on a pre-existing sculpt and saying ‘here you go’ like many companies do, I mean a real effort made. I’d love to see more in the way of little goblins, pixies, gnomes, etc
Dream high Studio makes some wonderful sculpts and Fairyland were also off to a great start their with Realfee and Realpuki lines until the setback several years ago that put them on hold. I know they’re starting to rerelease them again but the best ones are still discontinued and the Realfee faces are drifting toward the more human which is a shame. Rerelease Pano goddamit *shakes Fairyland people*
I know there are a couple of other companies as well but for something that’s so popular surprisingly few venture into that territory.

I also think proper melding of features in fantasy sculpts is sadly lacking and I’d like to see more. What we see a lot of is human body + Cat/Dog/Dragon/Pterodactyl head plonked on top which just looks odd to me, I’d love it if they looked more biologically plausible. I know however that the designs we see are more to do with cultural interpretations as anything.

Werewolf, somebody give us a decent werewolf please!

 

I realllly want a male centaur doll... Satyrs are also okay. And to specify: anime-style sculpt too, 1/3 size. I'm going to wait a little before doing research into these.

I like anthro / furry dolls, but I think I would prefer kemono-mimi accessories on a standard anime-style doll over actual furry sculpts for now... fluffy / furry ears. Part of the reason I like doll aesthetics is how the wig is realistic looking hair in most cases, instead of molded plastic hair in one piece. However some furry sculpts are so cute I could die... I want the anthro dolls to be male and have tails. I like bishounen / anime aesthetics.

Fantasy elements such as horns, unnatural skin tones, etc are fantastic. Elves, I mean, who doesn't love elves?! I'm not a personal fan of some fantasy creatures, but I do love seeing all sorts of sculpts and concepts with other doll owners! I love the unlimited creativity in this hobby

I would love to have a straight-up dragon (or other fantasy creature like a unicorn) doll. Not a humanoid, but a very pretty dragon with wings.

 

Doll Chateau nails that dreamy but gritty fantasy with the youth and adult dolls sometimes. Evangeline, Eudes, Oswald and Flora would fit right into Souls.

Dolls with extra limbs are gorgeous but I’m a little intimidated by them since I like sewing clothes for my guy.

 

A dwarf ! Like in dungeon meshi, short, strong, with wide shoulders !

 

Gargoyles and demons, and preferably with not overly “pretty” faces.

 

More mature male 1/4 sculpts for basically ALL the fantasy stuff! I particularly want more naga and mermen, because as much as I adore my Ehecatl and Achelous, I would like something that's a bit more generic (in Ehecatl's case, no feathers), as a better base for a wider range of characters. I specifically want Resinsoul to do this, because it would be one of the few building pieces they don't already offer, but would make them my Definitive Go-To anytime I have a particular vision for something

The rest of what I want is less "full doll" and more "fantasy parts" so I can mix and match. Desperately want really nice feathered wings (like what DZ Light, or DV Maurren, Ehecatl, and Milien have), and fancy bat/dragon one as well. Digitigrade legs with paws, claws, or hooves. Stuff you can get separately from the dolls, and is regularly stocked/always available like other standard body parts.

As for a more weirdly-specific thing I want... I would love a (again, MATURE) 1/4 unicorn-taur dude. Almost the same as a regular centaur, just give him a slimmer horse-half build, cloven hooves and a lion-like tail. No weird creature/anthro faces, just a pretty guy face. And for the love of dollies, if you want to give him critter ears, I would prefer them to be magnetic and swappable with any more human-like ones he has, so he doesn't have two sets of ears. The two pairs of ears thing drives me absolutely batty and it's the one thing I wish was different about fantasy sculpts like DV's Order/Chaos. I wouldn't dare saw off the human ears so all I can do is try to cover them with their hairstyle, but this limits the styles I can choose from severely.

 

I absolutely love any doll with hooves, even better if they're cloven; satyrs, centaurs? I absolutely love them. Weirdly I don't own any - except some blind box bjds!
