What costume/clothes do you want to see on your bjd? (the one without any money or skill restrictions) I am crazy right now over the "Assassin's Creed" costumes! All those buckles and details! Let's dream!
Definitely an elaborate sweet lolita / ouji style full outfit. Frills, details, accessories, ribbons, all that. The puffier and cuter the better. That, or a military uniform - similar to Ringdoll ones? I really love their full military outfits. I actually think it'd look really good on female dolls too...
I really love historical themed clothing, especially Asian clothing. I really want to make those classical Thai clothing with gold pieces etc. Overall, anything regal and oriental looking, mostly historical and traditional outfits! I also found this website that sums up what I'd love to make in the future. How to wear Heain Period kimono ¤ªÉþ
One of the really elaborate Chobits dresses, the kind with the cages and ruffles and veils and a million ribbons going every direction lol.
I have a couple: - Roy's/the masked bandit's costume from The Fall LINK - Raoul's Masquerade outfit from Phantom of the Opera LINK - Revolver/Major Ocelot's outfits (just in completely black/gray) LINK 1 LINK 2 - Several Game of Thrones costumes, like Petyr's winter coat, Petyr outfit, Jaime Outfit 1 (with armor), Jaime Outfit 2 All in full black again. - Those two outfits from Jupiter Ascending LINK 1 LINK 2 - Count Vronsky promo outfit (I don't think he wears it in the Anna Karenina movie? Can't remember) LINK - And so many more, like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Oh well Also stuff like fancy military uniforms I'd love to own more, and armor too. I think my easiest to get wish are still the two outfits from The Little Prince, his simple green one and the actual "prince" one with the fancy coat.
Something luxurious and ethereal, flowing and lace...really love historical/traditional styles. Planning on buying Ringdoll's Rc70-30 outfitゞ!
I took on a commission to make an Assassin's Creed costume - not the leather accoutrements thank GOODNESS.... I spent the better part of a month just figuring out the pattern. Wow. I am looking forward to making a couple in late 1700's dress for my own dolls - just because I love that look & have the fullsize patterns to downsize. Also, I'm making a Josean era guard's costume (Korean). I have a couple more steampunk outfits to make. I just can't narrow it down to one
I have been in an early 20th century fashion kick recently. The things I want is for my Zuzu Delf to have that type of style. I know I want to make her a Sophie Hatter style from Howl's Moving Castle. The book and the movie.
I used to be addicted to this mobile otome game YEARS ago when visual novel apps were starting to pick up steam. It was called 'Be my Princess' and I ABSOLUTELY adored the Princes' uniforms in the game (link for reference here!). I wish I had the sewing know-how to make something like there costumes. MFW I saw that Freedom Teller made similar outfits but they were limited and made eons ago before I got into the hobby ;_;
A nice Scottish complete outfit with a kilt, for a muscular 70 cm guy. A grand evening robe in blue satin, without any frills or lace, with a loong skirt part. And matching shoes, of course. An Elvish set of armour. Each goal one by one. I really have to tell myself that it is impossible to do everything at the same time.
I love Ouji and Lolita, so I absolutely must have a doll in both of those styles at some point! Both covered in ruffles and ribbons, with cute little hats and bags... They will be so adorable! I also am a sucker for Classic Victorian and Gothic outfits, and have several dolls planned in those styles too~ (Gothic is going to be covered soon once I get my body, but one is never enough!)
Anything from the Chobits artbooks. There are so many tiny details and frills that I would never be able to pull off on my own, and I haven't found a Chobits outfit that 1) fits MNF an Yes!! I also was going to say Chobits. The only outfit I've seen was for Dollfie Dream, and it's incredibly rare on top of not being the right size. I would love for something slim MSD size from the For Your Eyes Only artbook.
My grail outfit (for my grail doll!) would be a full on 1750s ball gown, complete with all the extras... and an extra head for a make-up look. But that’s something I’d have to custom make, I would think. >>
I have a doll that is supposed to be Scottish so I would love for him to have the full Scotsman outfit, kilt and all including bagpipes!
I would love one of these: http://picture-cdn.wheretoget.it/d4aezw-i.jpg with the matching little fur lined heels
I saw some gorgeous hanbok on display once that I have been pining after ever since. And the historical outfits Switch uses for their promotional photos are also gorgeous.
I've always wanted an elaborate steampunk kind of suit with mechanical wings for my doll Icarus It'd be sooo cool..
I'd like a full black latex suit with hood for Charlie, but I am deathly allergic to latex. So I'm going to attempt to make him one in vinyl instead, though I know it won't have the same second-skin fit.
I've been wanting a historical outfit for my Granado Charles-- something 1660's England, Restoration style. I'd love to see more Historical outfits in general being made for dolls (I'm no good at tailoring outfits, unfortunately).
Gotta ask - Was your commission for a bjd or human costume? What's your best advice for it? I would so love to see a photo of your work!
I definitely want some armor for my boys!! Most of my characters have a 'job' from the game Ragnarok Online so I'd like outfits based on the game. I have an rune knight, lord knight, royal guard, then there's an archbishop, alchemist, warlock, & sorceress! Other outfits I'd like are princess-y, flow-y dresses for my unicorn princess.
I'll do this for the two boys I've got on order atm! Sera - Black crop top with cutout shoulders and chains hanging from the short sleeves. Black leather pants that are laced up the sides and shoe some of his legs. Black leather zip-up high tops with a white toe area (think converse, but leather and zip-up). Honorable mentions are hooded sleeveless tops and tops with mesh or fishnet sections to them. Jean - An off-white/beige long sleeve shirt under a pair of faded short-alls, maybe stained slightly from paint. I also picture him having lace-up boots that go up to about his mid-calf. Honorable mentions for him are oversized sweaters and a smock for when he does his pottery and other clay work!
I have long wanted an Enjolras of Les Miserables outfit for one of my dolls. Maybe not exactly like the 2012 film version, but my (or a costumer's) interpretation of the red coat, red sash, trousers, and shirt he wears. I even went looking for a wig last night, for my incoming MYOU Ben, after listening to the soundtrack for the first time in forever! But, it's been one of those few 'necessities' I've pined for since joining the hobby around the time the film came out. And, once I finally get my act together and start sewing, it's my ultimate goal to craft it myself one day. Another one I'd like is something akin to what Audie Murphy wore for the short-lived Whispering Smith TV show in 1960. A blue gingham shirt, denim pants or gabardine work trousers, and cowboy boots. For my incoming Ben more than my bigger boy Ethan (Ben's not even here yet, and he's already in danger of being spoilt rotten).
There is a company called Firefly Path that creates these incredible elaborate fairy gowns for people. Lots of frills and lace and fantasy wings... I would love to own a number of these gowns in doll size for my fantasy girls. Heck, I’d love to own a number of these gowns for me!
It's for an Iplehouse SID guy. I'll post pics when I'm done I had to draft patterns for it - the big problem was the layers cause w/a doll that causes bulk very quickly. I'm using real leather for some of the embellishments too.
I would love to have suits for my guys. Military suits, business suits...any kind! I love suits on guys. It's something about the classic feel of them, you can never go wrong with a nice suit. With that being said I don't have any girl dolls. However I still love to daydream about long elegant gowns. I'd never force my guys into one (Well, I won't until I learn how to sew).
The Lolita is exactly what I was thinking! I haven't thought of the military style before but picturing it now I think it would look Amazing!
@Teleri Your Assassin's Creed outfit for a SID sounds impressive! I counted at least 5 layers for these guys, so it'll take some tricks to get it to look right on an SD scale!
That was like the first outfit I have wanted to sew for my dolls since I bought my first doll in 2008 when I was obsessed with Assassin's Creed. ...............I still haven't sewn one for my BJD despite the fact I have cosplayed and sewn assassin plushies. lol and like... Altair is the easy one, lol. I want to sew like the entire catalogue of Madeleine Vionnet dresses, but I currently haven't achieved the skill to do so and it is so hard (or at least expensive, lol) to shop for fabrics that drape nicely on a doll. Need all the nice silks and stuff! I also really want a super OTT lolita outfit for my boys. I feel like I might get this done whenever I actually make custom doll-size fabric prints.
I´d love to have my first doll in a specific cosplay, since he will be a character of mine and I drew him as the male protagonist of Fire Emblem Awakening due to a joke with my friends and I really want to cosplay him as well... So we would have matching outfits xD I really like the design of the cape and the color scheme, so I may end up doing it someday.
Okay, yes, thank you people for reminding me how much I love the Assassin's Creed aesthetic. I think I actually have a sketch languishing somewhere of an AC-style outfit for one of my dolls... That being said: I would love to be able to make this tuxedo for my souldoll girl. Not in white, and with a few minor adjustments of my own, but I just love the cut of that jacket! One day, my sewing skills will be up to the challenge...
I like elaborate overly detailed classic designs. Like, really elaborate. Costumes like that can usually cost a few hundreds. I also like historical based outfits, suits, and casual wear. Detailed lingerie is something I like too on BJDs.
I would love to give both my dolls some full steampunk costumes. Also I would adore various period pieces for my iplehouse boy.
For sure military styled clothing. I know many people are iffy on it due to sensitive stories on wars and such, but I have to admit they were pretty cool back in the day
I have spent half of my life as a member of the SCA, so I am used to wandering around in elaborate costumes, usually Italian Rennaissance, and I have made a lot of costumes for my dolls over the years. My current obsession is Regency, I would like to make a classic Regency period men's riding outfit for my largest doll, an Iplehouse Kamau EID, it is difficult to find doll scale fine woolens though. I will get around to doing it some day. I have to clothe my newest doll first though, I got him a week ago, and the poor thing is still naked. The costume he requires is 1970s: beat up jeans, scuffed boots and a Fairport Convention Tshirt.
Vampire Hunter D full outfit (based on Amano-sensei's artworks) is my dream. I'm going to sew it for my Soom Hyperon soon. Wonder how it will look like in the end.
I'm looking at a couple of boy dolls to make an Agent of Asgard Loki but I also want to do a cute little elven doll too.
That's a WONDERFUL visual of "Titanic" Rose's dress! I'd love to see your project - even in progress! So pretty!
For my first BJD, I am thinking of her main outfit being a black empress dress with aqua lace. I should draw this up so I have a better idea of. I also want to make a kimono and wedding dress for her, but those are a long way away.
My ultimate dream costume atm would involve just replacing all my crumbling vinyl with the same pieces made in real leather. I am so sad over the loss of several pairs of shoes and I can see two of my leather biker jackets are nearing their end.
Well, my ultimate dream costume would be a complete Victorian gown with all the petticoats and undergarments, and all the details! But sadly, I am extremelly clumsy when it comes to sewing, so it will take me a long time to get one done for my beloved Bea.
I would love to have several cute sets of Mori Girl clothes complete with shoes and underwear. Same for Fairy Kei clothes. I would like my large boys to have snazzy 3 piece suits and some goth wear. For the girls- tons of gothic lolita and casual lolita along with Mori Girl.
I would love an SD sized rococo dress, with the proper shoes, a fan, towering wig, the lot! Out of my price range made though, so I may have to learn to sew!
Hardsuits for the BGC girls (and Yumeko, my main OC). It'd be bloody expensive but boy they'd look awesome.
To do with my dream costume, it would require me to get my dream doll!! T.T I wish to one day remake my Blade and Soul Character on a doll. My character was a Lyn species with a Summiner class. She was half cat half human with wide hips and she was holding a staff I one day hope and wish to be able to get my hands on one of the ragdoll SIO2 dolls and recreate my character!! ♡
Vince- ah, once upon a time I had such plans... he was going to have a red pleather coat, and a really cute black and white filmy/gauzy blouse, two things I bought fabric for and then lost those fabrics when I moved house. So my dream outfit for him would be a cool leather jacket and pants, and then a really feminine blouse. And like, some boots and at least one belt... maybe a sweet hat? Pete- I've got a couple for Pete, but the one that really breaks from his usual pink/white/pastels color palette is, I would LOVE for him to have a big goth overcoat, for a look complete with frilled blouse, boots, ascot, some jewelry. Like, just go in the opposite direction from what he tends to be in. Early romantic/victorian goth style, black and dusky purples. Billy- Honestly all my plans for Billy were dashed the moment he got his dino jammies/costume, now he's never not dressed like a dinosaur (but I do kind of still want him to have a cute little suit sometimes. Or an owl sweater, maybe. Or a cute pirate costume? I like the idea of dressing him up differently but his dino costume is way too cute) Marigold- Another case of something I could be making, she was going to have a top and butt-cape that was a mesh base covered in fall leaves (got all the materials)... but I'd also love for her to have a simple white blouse (maybe sort of a babydoll shape) with a soft neutral-color cardigan, maybe with a little saddle blanket type thing or loose leg warmers that could go over her hooves and be held up with ribbons... just a good mori girl look! (my next boy is going to need a sweater vest, some tweedy pieces, and a coat that matches my winter coat... but I'll worry about bringing the doll home before I hunt for too many dream costume pieces. I think I can find his glasses, too)
