What's your Danger Company?

Jan 10, 2023

    1. As others have also said, Dream Valley is mine. I love their style of faces and fantasy bodies. I get excited every time they have an event, though I fortunately don't want to own all their dolls.

    2. Ringdoll has my wallet in an iron grip and have since I first started collecting. It took me years to build up enough money to finally own a doll from them, but I was able to get outfits and parts before then. Every time they put out something new, I'm tempted. Honestly, I just purchased a new outfit from them.

      • x 2
    3. Definitely Switch... my first grail doll and first doll I got my hands on was a Switch boy, and every new release I have to talk myself out of buying just ooooooone more head :sorry I have now 9 heads and 5 bodies and I will definitely get more in the future!
Their sculpts are just so beautiful! I was amazed by all the company photos when I first started collecting :aheartbea No other company has my heart quite like them...

      • x 4
    4. Dollzone & Mystic Kids are tied for 1st place (6-each), but Ringdoll is pulling up a close second with 5 dolls. I've forbidden myself from any more of the 1st two, well, for now... but maybe I have room for at least 1 more from Ringdoll... Kind of looking at Pan currently, :aeyepop: I don't if my wallet will be able to avoid him for too much longer. :XD:

    5. myoudoll is definitely always a risk for me. I want them all, and I want all the fullsets... I am managing to control myself usually, but I also keep a close eye on new releases. Can't help it. Fullsets too pretty.
Dream Valley is also always very tempting, but they usually have so much personality that it's a little easier to convince myself to avoid them, since I can tell myself they wouldn't fit with the rest of my dolls

      • x 2
    6. Sigh. I envy you.
I have the Abyss mermaid. Denver Doll has a full set Neirus mermaid (matching in blue). I keep telling myself, "NO! You already have one! You don't need another one!"
When Neirus sells, I'll breathe a little easier.
And when they rereleased the mantitaurs, I had to avoid all social media. I already have one! I don't need another one!
      But they're so pretty...

    7. Right now PashaPasha really has a grip on me, I immediately jumped in on the recent preorder and am excitedly waiting for the mini xy preorder to open. The sculpts are all so incredible it’s hard to hold myself back!

    8. I will always love Dollstown and I wish I could hold on to more of the dolls I buy from them, but space and time means fewer dolls and bigger ones are also a habit I have to break. I do have two boys that share a body, but everyone else here is MSD or smaller and it's better that way.

      • x 3
    9. I have dolls from quite a few different companies and I love them dearly, but if I have to name one, for me it is Souldoll - I got my first doll from them over 10 years ago, and I keep returning to their website ever since. MSD too, but unfortunately for my wallet, they got me with their SDs mostly. I have a list of past releases I missed out on and I know if they ever show up on the marketplace I'm doomed to grab them, but also I worry about being tempted by future releases... Even now I am waiting for one doll and one head from them to ship out :sweat

    10. Definitely Dream Valley. I've only just started collecting but I have one doll by them and another on layaway and I'm eyeing yet another one. I just love their fantasy sculpts and even their human sculpts look so nice. I also really like that their MSDs can look like adults depending on the sculpt because I've noticed a lot of MSDs from other companies can look pretty young which while cute doesn't interest me as much since I'm currently in the process of shelling some OCs, all of which are in their 20s-30s.

    11. Maskcatdoll, hands down. I mean, I want everything from them. XD

    12. Fairyland. I have like a mile long wishlist :aeyepop: But also I keep looking MYou these days. I especailly have interest in the mature tinies!

      • x 2
    13. It's Another Secret studio. I don't want ALL their heads, but I want (and own) quite a lot of them :sweat
It's hard to buy them currently, they seldomly sell outside China now. So sometimes I find some of their heads on reseller website (like new clover singing), or I struggle finding them on second hand market.

    14. Dust of Dolls, I love all of their sculpts.

      • x 5
    15. Yep,switch would be mine too…followed by Soom ID75 which is even worse for my limited space

    16. Same,I cannot stop wanting to buy every switch head I see for sale :...( my poor wallet

    17. Luts. Hands down Luts. *_*

    18. Dream Valley and Dollzone have a vice grip on my soul. Though Doll Chateau and Coralreef are slowly making there way in there. I love myself some funky sculpts, I don't want a single doll in my collection to look like the next lol

    19. uuhhhgg probably Volks ATM only because im so new to this and i really like their vinyl dolls and I havent really had time to expand and see more sculpts and large breasts models like the DDYs >_<

      • x 2
    20. hmm currently Yukilovecomic / 啊U .... I wish they would sell just heads though!

    21. Ohhhhh The Voice :love always a correct answer, everything is gorgeous!

Coming back to my own thread here, I've noticed that for myself most times I overlook smaller artists so they wind up being less dangerous. The smallest one for me is Unoa/Alchemic Labo (instant secondhand purchases, twice) but it's mostly larger and better known companies like Souldoll and Dream Valley. (Mostly Souldoll though. DV and DFH for bodies, but everything Souldoll.)

Also Iplehouse. I've had three, regardless of them not fitting in with my crew proportionally (which is big for me), and they keep distracting me. It's the realistic aesthetic, I'm sure. Maybe they'll be ones I collect once my current crew is completed...

    22. Volks for me. It's hard for me to impulse buy a doll but outfits are another story. The details and quality are way above what I could make myself. Every time I look at my dolls I'm tempted to look at new outfits, then I imagine how my dolls would look in them...

      • x 4
    23. It’s Volks for me, but only the vinyl dolls. There are so many I’d love to have! Thankfully my budget is keeping the collection down to a reasonable size, lol.

      • x 3
    24. Definitely Migidoll - I don't know why, but they definitely get me more often than any other company! After that, it's Volks, but I'm very picky. They've released a ton of dolls lately that are must-haves, but there are plenty I'm safe from.

      • x 3
    25. KaniBoom for sure!

      • x 2
    26. Souldoll. I own 4 of their dolls and want at least 3 more. I can't say no to that company

      • x 5
    27. Currently, I have five Doll Menagerie (Marmite Sue) girls that were purchased on three seperate pre-orders. Once I get these dolls in the post, I should have all the three second generation girl bodies and resin skin colors; Expect for the two fantasy colors, ash and white. I still have a few more molds, that I don't own. I really have to force myself to not go overvoard when Eli opens up a pre-order, because with all the spare parts options available, the bill quickly adds up. I love supporting Eli's work and artistic vision. :D

    28. I'd say Loongsoul! So many of their sculpts are really beautiful and I love the way they do their faceups. If I had an unlimited amount of space and money I think I'd buy a lot more of their sculpts.

      • x 3
    29. I absolutely love Dika Doll. I have to stop myself from looking at the dolls on Alice's Collections because everytime I do I end up adding another sculpt to my wish list.

      • x 2
    30. Dollzone. Their designs are breathtaking, and I love seeing concepts that I have never seen before.

      • x 3
    31. Definitely Peaks Woods. In the span of about 1 year I've acquired a FOC Tristan and Hunky Dory head, a FOB V.F. Mona, and I have a FOC Red coming home soon. Plus I have like 3 or 4 more of their dolls I want. I'm toast. :sweat

    32. Always has been and always will be Volks. Since I started this hobby in 2006 they have had a strong hold on my wallet and my collection preference. I mean, I did leave the hobby for 10+ years but now that I'm back? The first doll I purchased was a Volks SDC from the DOA marketplace. So it's a never ending cycle. :XD:

      • x 3
    33. I'd say Dollzone so far, mainly cause they are the first one I ordered two sculpts from. However, I would be a liar if I said that a good portion of Dream Valley's sculpts didn't tempt me.

      • x 3
    34. definitely dreamvalley with their more stylized slender male sculpts and fantasy designs

      • x 2
    35. VOLKS.
Particularly Megu and dolls with a similar face like F-106. If they ever release an SDM one I'm doomed.

      • x 2
    36. Dollzone for sure. Only actually ordered one doll so far, but I always find myself going back to look at their dolls, and already want two more once I get mine.

      • x 3
    37. Admittedly, I can't really think of any companies that provide threat to the wallet upon their releases (thank you for being focused solely on shelling existing OCs/specific existing characters, personal tastes :XD:). The closest I can come up with to this for me is Dragon Shell doll. They have such unique, interesting face sculpts—many of which I would be more than happy to acquire if given the opportunity. :kitty2

      • x 2
    38. It started with Ringdoll, but their style seemed to have veered towards extremely muscular guys that seem to get taller with every release.

      So currently, it's Loongsoul.
I am very weak to ancient Chinese styles and their dolls just give me a dignified and powerful impression without flaunting their physical stature, at least that is not the focus at first.
I am a little sad I missed the period where they created a lot of their fantasy dolls (I love the Eloise and White/Black Dragon sculpts, sigh.).
But overall, a lot of what they have put out, is right up my alley.

    39. Jacoosun Studio.

The dolls fit in play line/blythe clothes but wear minifee sized wigs and usually 12-16mm eyes. AKA all very common and easy to find. They are dangerously easy to shop for, letting me buy the best of all the worlds. And they have fantastic posing! Plus being tiny size, they are very easy to transport and don't take up a ton of space (copious closet space for clothes/shoes/accessories aside).

      • x 3
    40. DreamHigh Studio- Any time I look at their latest stuff I have to have the argument of why i DON'T need new dolls. And sometimes I lose.

Fairyland. I can't quit Minifees and Littlefees, and pukipukis are a favorite.

      • x 6
    41. Iplehouse. Bad posing and all. Almost half of my collection is Iplehouse, and my wish list is almost all Iplehouse dolls. :sweat

      • x 4
    42. Company. He. Hehehe. Company.

My danger sculpt is Fairyland's Alan. I have five in hand, three paid for, and two + an extra head on layaway.

Yes, I'm probably insane. Yes, that is more than half my collection. No, I'm not expecting to stop anytime soon.

      • x 6
    43. oh nooo but I understand. I'm not much of a Fairyland fan, generally, but I do love my pukifee-- and i sure keep getting distracted by vampire Alan.

And hey, no reason to change, if it makes you happy and you can sustain it go for it :>

      • x 3
    44. I’d say Dust of Dolls. Like, their Appi line is so cute and pretty !
They definitely aren’t cheap, and each doll is a hard punch in the wallet, but I can barely stop myself each time I see one in the second hand market (most are sold out and preorders are kinda rare)

      • x 2
    45. I have to say... BlueFairy... I really have to stop myself from buying everytime there's a new release...

      • x 2
    46. Without a doubt, Fairyland; especially the Pukipukis and Pukifees. I have 9 1/2 Fairyland dolls... so far (it'll be 10 if I can ever find a pukipuki Cupid 3 faceplate).

close second though, is Dream Valley.

      • x 2
    47. Definitely Luts. Everything they make is just so pretty. Their sculpts are lovely, their build quality is really nice, and their wigs and clothes are great quality.

      • x 4
    48. popovy sisters, there are already 8 of them in my collection - this is the most dangerous company)

      • x 3
    49. Oh gosh, for me the Danger Company is PlanetDoll. The only thing protecting my wallet right now is the fact that they’re no longer in business. Still, if I see a PlanetDoll mini for sale on the secondhand, nothing will stop me. I also set aside a PlanetDoll fund just for the minis, so if I am ever lucky enough to find another mini Riz, Tara, Renee, or even one of the boys like Dandy or the mermaid Aqua— literally any sculpt from the mini line— I will buy that doll.

I also want to get my hands on at least one of their MSD’s, but I’m a little more careful there. Although, if I see one for sale, you betcha I’m orbiting that doll with my wallet dangerously close.

PlanetDoll. Whew. The grip they have on me is inescapable. Love their style, their quirks, the supremely aesthetic posing they can achieve with some sueding and wiring…and the minis are SO easy travel with. Excellent dollies. Big Danger.

I’m in very serious danger if I ever find another company that matches their aesthetic.

    50. Update....ive fallen victim to puyoodoll Kumako....someone help.

      • x 2
    51. CustomHouse! They're long defunct, so the studio itself doesn't have a hold on my wallet, but I sure do drop everything I'm doing when I get a notification of one for sale secondhand. And stumbling across one in the wild is even more thrilling! I definitely do not buy every one I see but mama do I want to.

      • x 3
    52. Call me old-fashioned, but Volks. There's just something I love about the sculpts and weight of the resin. Plus I think they yellow to a nice colour

      • x 3
    53. Coralreef , Gem and Volks :)

      • x 2
    54. My collection is... Filled with dolls I didn't really expect. A few were given to me. So I can't really say. Every Ring Doll boy that is 70cm makes me clutch my wallet. Right now I want every Volks girl ever even though I want more boy dolls and prefer boy dolls. (I still want Volks boys too)

      • x 3
    55. Souldoll is definitely high on that list. Loongsoul is another, which is funny because I don't even love a lot of their sculpts. But I see those fullset photos and I'm just like instant zombie, gotta practice restraint. :mwahaha

      • x 3
    56. Ringdoll definitely owns my soul. I love their outfits and their sculpts. The only things stopping me from owning more is that I tend to buy dolls for OCs and they don't always have the same aesthetic as Ringdoll.

      • x 1
    57. And me over here thinking, "How many resin colors do I reaaaallllly need Iplehouse Mari/Isabel in? One is plenty. One. ONE."
(Iplehouse has something close to 10 resin colors. But one is plenty! One!)
And they come in multiple sizes...
      Yup. I get you.

      • x 2
    58. So relatable. The only color I don't have Alan in is Beautiful White. The two on layaway are the special limited grey and blue.

      • x 1
    59. Oh, dude (nongender-specific,90s usage).I have a gray Iplehouse head. It's old, but still beautiful.
Nope. I'm sneaking away from this thread! I shall not be tempted!
*She says as she wanders over to Iplehouse's website to see if they're running any specials.*

    60. Honestly for me was Villitunes but I never got around to order. Every time a preorder came up I had some emergency and I had to use my spare funds for. I’m still hoping that one day I can buy a Lamoon. Yellow, mint, pink, purple and blue is what I’ve been eyeing.
