What's the FIRST thing you do after the box opening?

First thing I do after he is unpacked is introduce him to the other dolls, simultaneously giving him his very own teddy bear. They all have their own teddy bears (even the floating heads). Take pictures of the guys all together. Then I make him a pair of socks.
All the while staring at him like a stalker.

 

wig swap... almost before they are even out of all the bubble wrap. lol

 

The very first thing I do is squee in happiness! >< But then I'll start by playing with the doll, testing poses and how well they stand; overall, my goal is to just get a feel for them. Then it's time to start trying on clothes, eyes, and wigs! I never know what a doll should wear until I actually see it, so it's important to me to test as many possibilities as I can. Once I've spent some time playing and bonding and whatnot, I'll start to think about names--I might have something in mind before a doll arrives, but I never know for sure until they get here.

I usually spend a lot of time with the new doll, carrying him/her with me around the house. And taking pictures, and annoying my friends with how excited I am for new resin xD

 

Get the box and wrappers out of the way. Try to clean a space for my doll and me. Try on new clothes. Pose it with another doll to see how good they look together. Take lots of pictures.

 

Probably just trying on the wig i ordered for this doll to see if it's just like i imagined.

 

I normally open the box and test out their body to see how the joints work and check for damage. After the usual testing and checking I just stare at their blank/or not blank eyeholes and see i feel a connection....if not then i will feel disappointed and try again after i do their faceup, if that still doensn't work then they are poor babies that will need a new home.

 

I view, try on wigs and eyes, clothing. Look at the mobility of the body, trying to take pictures.

 

First thing I do, after the box opening, is staying in front of my new doll and staring at her with all my love in the eyes and a huge smile.

 

Run to my room for a photoshoot

 

Pull out some fabric swatches, set the doll on the dresser and get out my sketchpad. Drink a cup of tea while I fill empty pages with sketches of her dream outfits, and ideas for photo shoots. (My 2 favourite things for my dolls- designing and sewing outfits- and taking photos)

 

Have a fashion show with clothing and wigs! .. and take pictures!
