My first full doll was a Bobobie Isabella in ns. I was intimidated by the bigger sizes and wanted to start with something small and cute!

 

I had a Dollzone Shoyo, her name was Maya ^-^

My first doll was a minifee and she just arrived last week. I love her so much I already want another one!

 

I got my first doll from a lovely lady in my own country... she was a decade old when I decieved her, and very loved. She has a beautiful custom faceup and I love her oh so dearly

 

My first doll was a Dollmore Kid Aidan. I bought him ten years ago after starting college. He was an only doll for a long time, was sold for a short time, and has injured me many times. That being said I love him and he has the honor of being my only doll to have a name. Lucan is still my favorite and I'm ready to see him again (he has been packed up for a few years while I've been living with my inlaws).

 

Mine is currently my only doll lol! He’s a Granado Andrew, who I found on a second hand app (can’t recall the name). I didn’t think I would be able to get him, and I was utterly in love lol. He was way cheaper (he’s authentic, though!) than he used to be, so I asked my mom and she surprised me with him as an early bday gift

 

I bought my first doll on a website, but it was 0.5 times more expensive than the original price. After receiving it, I sold him because I could not find the makeup that suits him.

My first doll was Resinsoul Ai. I bought her 7 years ago.
She has survived all my experiments. My first make-up and blushing... OMG it was so ugly However she is still my best one!

 

My first doll was a Dollzone Mo, that I bought from an official dealer in Germany. I got him as a full set because I really knew nothing about these dolls... I still have him, and he's still gorgeous

 

My very first doll was a Dream of Doll Homme Ducan fullset back around 2006/2007ish? I don't remember how much he cost, but I bought him direct from the Dream of Doll website.

I clearly remember literally jumping out my bedroom window to grab him from the postman (I used to pop the screen out of my bedroom window so I could come and go through it... It's not what it sounds like, I was just a weird kid.) I also remember that distinct "new resin smell" upon first opening his box and being astounded at just how big he really was, since I hadn't seen a bjd in person before then. I also remember going to my first doll meets and to conventions with him. At one point, I even carried him around the Mall of America with me and I was stopped while leaving Sephora and I thought they were going to accuse me of stealing, but the girls were just super interested in him (they were really nice about it) Sadly I also remember my ex hating him and having to sell him.

I still miss that doll, but I wouldn't ever want another one of his sculpt. It would feel too much like I was just trying to replace him and the memories attached to him. I also think my tastes have shifted dramatically since when I first joined the hobby. He was the first sculpt I really just fell head over heels with and I'm so glad he was my first doll. He might not be with me physically anymore, but, as cheesy as it sounds, I'll always cherish those memories. ♡

 

My first BJD was a Luts Senior Delf Clary in white skin. I bought her second hand, although she was virtually new. I will never forget the pure joy I felt when I first held her. I was so nervous and excited at the same time! I remember I was almost scared to hold her - I had admired BJDs for so long leading up to getting her, and had never dreamed I would one day have one. I still have her, she will forever be my special #1. Her name is Claire

 

My first BJD was a second hand DOC Mir. She was absolutely adorable but after a few years I just didn't feel bonded anymore so I sold her to a girl who had been seeking out that very mold. I have no regrets, it was a great experience to both have her and let her go.

My first real on-topic-BJD was my Iplehouse I Special Edition. She is my first girl and I am still crazy in love with her. I do not plan on giving her away.

My Popodoll 68cm Chen sculpt. I love him so much I scoured the interwebs to find a second. I'm not sure I could have another made if something happened. I waited over 4 years to get my first, and I've had him now over 4. It was love at first sight.

 

My first was a Dollzone Shoyo and I looooove her. She’s nearly 8 years old now and I’m pretty sure her body is horribly out of date but I just finished buying her a whole new set of clothes, wig, eyes etc. She’s still awesome and she’s never going anywhere!

 

My first doll was a 5stardoll Lura. The company photos weren't great, but I loved her smile and in person it was so much sweeter. She's over 8 years old now and I think I finally have her character down. So time to get her finished

My first doll is a Dream of Doll Luke v2, big 'ol 70cm boy. I still have him, and don't plan on rehoming him. He turned 10 this year c: I recieved him in 2009. He's my DoA avatar c:

I noticed that msd and fashion dolls are my preference^^

 

Mine is Telesthesia and Dragondoll DiFei. Shes the girl in my avi. I have had her bout a year and a half and still just adore her. I have a few other dolls now, but she is still my favorite by far. >.<

 

My first bjd was bought secondhand, arrived in 2012. Angel of Dream 1/4th (I named her Melfina) a 2011 Pink Skin Female Meng Ya Qi (Opened Eyed Sleeping Head)

As many different companies as I have now (most 1/4 or a little under) I still love my AoD's the most!

My first doll was a Dream of Doll Homme Kirill. I've since shelled his character up into a size and look that is more fitting, as his character is an adult, but my now 11 year old Kirill will always be my most treasured doll in my collection.

 

My first was a Dream of Doll Twing-key. I still have her, though I don't play with her as much as I used to.

 

My first doll was my Little Monica Bear (the boy in my profile picture) who I called Wren. I'm still super glad I went with him to this day.

 

Dream of Doll Pitts. So glad I chose her to be my first, she's still my favorite! You can see her in my avatar.

The first one I chose for myself was my Cherishdoll Hope, Eithne. I still love her!

The first I ever owned was a really really good deal from a friend who'd been out of the hobby for a decade at that point. A Real Missing Link boy, who found a forever home with someone else at the Resin Rose swap meet in 2018.

 

My first doll was a CP Delf Lishe, named Feather. She's my icon and I love her so much, I've had her for 8 years!

 

Technically my first was just a head, a Dollsbe Mango. She didn't get a body until a year later. My first full doll from before then was a Leekeworld Daisy. Learned quicky that I don't like 'stylized' dolls and I'm more into bigger ones. Still have the Dollsbe Mango head though. I'll never sell her. :>

My first doll was a Dollzone Recall head on a Domuya male body. Got him off of eBay at least 12yrs. ago. I had to save him. He had this awful Clockwork Orange face-up. My daughter redid him and he has the sweetest face now. He will never be sold. I told my daughters that when I die they can do what they want with my other dolls but Phineus T. Applewhite (the T is for Tibereus)stays. Unless they want me to haunt them.

 

I actually bought my first doll a couple of years ago from a convention, AWA. She was an island girl Amy.
She was my one and only for a couple of years before I drove in to buying and owning dolls.

 

Just received my first doll today! Deavon by Lillycat, and I couldn't be more pleased!!

 

Unoa Lusis, back when it was harder than heck to ever get one! No english market, so long nights on japanese auction sites. I paid so much for that doll simply because of supply and demand.
She arrived with a dirty face up, dirty feet and knees and rotting strings. She was REALLY dang old! 2003. Not exactly the ideal first doll experience. I was a young teen that spent every penny to get her and no money or resources left to fix the surprise damages, so she sat in her box and tainted my love of the hobby.

I tried again as an adult and had a much lovelier time with other dolls. Lusis went to a good home, a girl who collected Unoas. I couldn’t ask for a happier outcome!

My first doll was a resinsoul/bbb Ming and he’s my baby. I know that it’s definitely not a doll I would have bought for myself today but that’s part of what I love about him. Resinsoul has such beautiful dolls - and he’s definitely been through a lot, all my photography adventures, learning face ups, mods, I’m amazed he honestly hasn’t yellowed more.

 

I would love to see him!

 

I'm kind of in a funny situation there, I guess.

I ordered an Impldoll Avery in January (and he just shipped!!! so excited), then in February, saw that Seed Art was doing a batch sale of Wols. So I got a Wol, and since Seed Art is in the US, I got that in lickety split. But since she's only a head, I needed to order a body...

So. First doll I ordered was Avery. First to get here at all was Wol, which also makes her the first BJD (head) I've seen and handled in person. First complete doll will, provided Dollzone doesn't do some miracle work on the body I ordered and there's nothing disastrous during shipping, be Avery. (I'm thinking about sending him and Wol in for faceups at the same time, since I'll have both heads. Just need to find an artist...)

They're both firsts, in their own ways. Which I'm glad about, even if it means juggling where all their things are. They're supposed to be friends, and I feel like this sort of helps them be on equal standing, instead of one's existence revolving around the other, if that makes sense.

my first doll is Venitu from 5th motif, i was so lucky to find him like new!!

 

I think my first BJD was technically a hide doll head that was from a friend who got it in a group order. I forget the company but there was a doll company where you sent them pictures and they could make you a custom doll head. That was a really popular thing to do about 12 years ago I think. I wonder if they still exist...I don't regret selling that head because as much as I love hide, I think I will stick to posters of him or smaller collectibles.

After that, it would be Idrial from Soom that I got second hand. I was really scared to handle any dolls large than the fashion doll size about a decade ago.

My first big doll was Elf Dia from Soom in 2015 I think. First doll I ordered straight from the company, with all the bells and whistles (minus body blushing).

Now I have a small army of elves and fairies haha! They are all sorts of sizes and the collection keeps growing, much to my mothers chagrin. I need to clear out some other collections so I can make sure I have space for them all. Or downsize. That is the thing I find really hard to do because I like all of them.

 

My first doll was Appi Kore by Dust of Dolls I only just got her February 19th and I'm currently waiting for the faceup artist I've chosen to open up her commissions slots so I can send Kore off c: I cannot wait. Congrats on your first doll though! Waiting for them to arrive feels like forever, but they'll be here before you know it!

 

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people- the first doll I ordered took so long, I bought a secondhand one mid-wait! My first doll I handled was my Spiritdoll Snowdrop. She definitely made me way less afraid to handle my Dream Valley Mia when she got here!

Congrats, though! Envy is a beautiful sculpt! Take lots of pictures when you unbox your first- they're SO much fun to look back on.

My first bjd was a Doll Family H, Xiao Xin head. Wanted to dip into bjds but wasn't sure about splashing out the cash so I got a cheap practice head. Even though he's marketed as a practice head, I really like the sculpt. When I get a bigger place, i would like to buy him a body .

My first was a Luts Kid Delf Cherry way back when. I was terrified of getting into the hobby and not liking it, so I settled for an MSD sized doll that I liked (and still do!). However, we were not meant to be and she has long since moved on. I actually gifted her to a very dear irl friend of mine who couldn't afford to get into the hobby at the time, so she was 2 people's first bjd and I still get to see her regularly!

My first piece of resin was a Dollsbe Mango head but she didn't get a proper body for over a year. My first full doll was a Leekeworld Daisy. Also my first regret purchase there but it was mainly due to her odd sizing, single jointing, and overall not what I ended up liking in a bjd.
