The first doll I ever wanted was actually one my friend had, the very first doll I ever saw. An old Soom 2011 boy, cloven hooves. Never forgot that doll.. I still try to buy him off her!
I remember when I first discovered this world like around 4 or 5 years ago, I believe, one of the first brands I found was Iplehouse, and for some reason I was in love with the EID Roger sculpt. Now, I'm not a huge fan of sculpts like that, but I thought would never find a better doll than him at that time.
My first doll I wanted to buy was a DDDy Sasara.... but her price war very hard ... my first doll was another (Uzuki Shimamura)... but the second was Sasara ... I saved all my money to buy her *-*
Stereotypical answer here - Soom Sabik. Unfortunately by the time I got into the hobby recasts of the sculpt were already commonplace, and I was new enough not to trust my own knowledge on the second hand market. Fortunately though a couple of years later Soom opened up the Super Gem and Mecha Angel ordering periods simultaneously... So I was able to acquire my original 'Grail' direct from Soom in two different sizes (though I only bought the SG Head from the SG set, since I wanted to put him on a body with similar proportions to the larger MA body). My lone mild regret about that particular order from Soom: It turned up with three very obviously different batches of 'Normal Skin'... The full-doll elf-eared Mecha Angel Sabik was this warm peachy tone, the Super Gem head nearly chewing gum pink... And the jointed hands I'd thrown in, an orangey tone halfway between the other two shades!)
I first saw a Doll Chateau Kid-Body 12 online and desperately had to have it! He's still in my collection now!
I was just mentioning this yesterday on another thread, but Doll Chateau Alan (human ver) full set was the first doll that I ever truly wanted to own, and to this day I still find him sorely tempting. I'm not sure why I keep not buying him (I mean, he's there, and the doll I ordered last month was a tad more expensive than him anyway), but somehow I just can't pull the trigger, since I want to keep my collection extremely small (two SD's and one MSD is my plan). I already have an MSD so I don't want to add another ... but he's just so beautiful ... /weeps.
The first BJD I was interested in was Soo from Iplehouse. I did not purchase her and I definitely would not buy her now. My tastes have changed.
I don't remember which one I saw first, so I'll lump them together- Mara from Switch and a YoSD Carter from Dollzone. Unfortunately, I waffled for a few days on Carter, and when I'd finally made up my mind, both him and the head- there were two listings, one for the head+body and one just for the head- were sold. I could just go for the regular Carter... but there was a certain roundness to his face I liked. Ah, well. I was gonna shell him as my character Naoly, but I always forget he's got a longer face than I try to draw. It did teach me a lesson though- I immediately put Mara on layaway, and I'm just waiting until tomorrow when I get paid so I can put my very first payment down for him.
I think the first doll I wanted was a Millefeuille.. But now the one I want is a Zaol Luv I've bought none of them, but want them like crazy~
My very first doll I wanted was Dollzone Hong and I'm happy now that I never got him 'cause he is nothing what I like nowadays haha!
The 1st doll ive wanted to buy was Helen if i remeber she was from dream of doll i think and that was 6 or 7 years ago. At that time i couldnt afford anything i was only 13 or 14 so ive never had and doll but this year i re-discovered my live for this hobby and i fell in love with venitu! Which was also discontinued when i wanted him but im glad i managed to get one
I think the first doll I wanted to buy was Dream of Doll Si. And I did ended buying him 3 years later than was supposed. For some reason at the time when I was trying to order him, the company didn't accept Paypal. The doll was cutest thing ever but I don't have him anymore.
My first doll i saw was a lillycat constintine I'm still in love with the sculpt hope to get one in the future .
The 1st doll i really wanted to buy was actually a minifee! Cos i see her whenever i google bjd but i started with yosd so i be sticking to 1/6 size so no minifee for me.
The really first doll I want to buy was Volks Nana and luckily this little dream have finally came true, I placed an order of Megu in 2013 I believe. I use to buy other doll before Megu but four sisters are still my favorite doll since I recognized BJDs.
I was dead set on a LUTS Kid Delf BORY for so long... Ultimately I didn't go with her/him because I wanted a more mature look for my dolls.
The first doll that I was dead set on was homme ivan from dream of doll. I never did get him, and its sad to know the company has all but disappeared to my knowledge. I ended up finding luts and got a kid delf ani boy as my first instead
The first doll I ever wanted to buy was a Resinsoul Ai. I was looking through DenverDoll when I first learned about BJDs and I came across her. I thought she was really cool and I loved how she looked kind of sweet, calm, and like she's in deep thought. I didn't get her because at the time I wanted to get a guy doll and I didn't know I could email the company and ask for a different body. Looking at her now, I would absolutely get her and I'd probably keep her on her default body. The only reason I haven't bought her is because she's an SD and I don't have a character idea for her. But hey if I happen to find her in stock sometime...who knows.
The doll that seriously got me into bjds was Doll Chateau's limited tiny Andre. I just thought he was so weird and distinctive and... a little ugly? And I really loved that. The only exposure I'd had to bjds was through my little sister's dollfie which, bless his heart, was probably the most boringly cutesy and typical doll imaginable. Since he's limited and sorta hard to find I haven't ended up getting him yet, but he opened the way for me to rediscover DC Carol (who I had seen before but not recognized as a bjd) and Doll Chateau in general. I'm still really new though, so I definitely plan to get him eventually.
When I first started looking at BJDs I didn’t really know what I was looking for/at so I only really knew Volks but, oddly enough a Volks sculpt was not one of the dolls I first wanted to buy! Probably because I was beyond confused by the website, LOL! After a few years when I came back serious about buying a doll, I knew I was going to go with Luts. At the time I 1000% had my eye on a CP Delf Lu Wen and he was certainly the first doll I wanted to buy. However, I never ended up getting him because by the time I had my money saved for a large order (doll, wigs, clothes, etc), he was gone! I should have paid better attention the ‘limited’ part in his description. :')
DoD's Twingkey was the first doll that I wanted to buy. I think it was around 2006~2007 maybe? I was too young then, so I couldn't afford it.. It is actually kinda sad that DoD is gone now.
The 1st doll I wanted to get was a Limited Edition Bliss from IH. I think it was a Bliss at least? Nope, I did not get her eventually because by the time I really settled and got a doll, she was already sold out a long long time ago~
Mine was Dollfie Dream Miku. I collected Miku figures at the time and I thought it would be cool to have a 1/3 scale Miku, but I couldn't justify the price. I never bought her, and I'm glad I didn't, because I am not a big fan of character dolls now and much prefer to make them into my OCs.
The first bjd I wanted was a Dollfie Dream Hatsune Miku and I didn't get her. If given the chance now, probably not, mainly because I'm trying to shell comic book characters in my dolls.
I can't remember if it was a Minifee or Feeple Chloe. I saw her in a Monster High chat group and fell in love. Then I saw the price and noped out of that one real quick
Mine was Delf Shine. I loved his big eyes and black hair. Well, it was like 11-12 years ago when I was first introduced to BJD. Now, my style has changed a lot, and no, I didn't take him home
Haha, I went was struck by body as well at first. The first full dolls I ever came across years ago were probably some Volks boys. For years bjds seemed kind of generic mass to me which feels really funny now that I've seen loads of dolls and there's actual variety. But when I was scrolling my way through bjds in curiosity I bumped into DC's msd bodies and got seriously interested. They matched my aesthetics and felt different from the rest. There was also the factor of controversy surrounding their look. I guess I wa drawn to that, too. And yes, I got myself a DC kid body eventually and I like it a lot. It's very beautirul.
mirodoll lili, though my plan for her crumbled within a few days of realization so i did not get them ^^;; still I would love to have this sculpt the first doll head (alone) that I wanted to buy though was an April Story Eternal Winter in our local bjd markey and I got him (he's a secondhand though but with a beautiful faceup!), he's now the first doll that I consider as I already got him a body ^^
Minifee Chloe definitely. I don’t even quite remember where I first saw her, though I remember I had just gotten out of ninth grade and was fartin around on my phone when I saw the company fullset picture of her and fell in love with her face and design and everything really. I went on a mission to find out what she was, and that’s how I got familiar with BJDs. Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll ever get her fullset, but I can always dream (at least I’ll hopefully be able to get her a la carte one day).
The first doll I ever wanted was a Fairyland Minifee Chloe. I didn't end up getting her and I don't like Fairyland sculpts that much anymore, so I don't mind that I didn't.
The first doll I ever wanted to buy was a Ringdoll Crystal but something felt off whenever I thought about actually buying him. I later got a MSD anyway and never got Crystal and don't think i ever will.
The first doll I fell in love with is Blue fairy's Emily. It was 13 years ago, I was a student and I didn't have enough money at that time. Now I'm working and I have got nearly 50 dolls and I haven't got her yet. I want to buy a Emily and a sleeping Emily as twins but they don't sell the sleeping Emily any more.
My first doll I wanted to buy was a Minifee Liria and to be honest... I bought her. It was spontaneous and I never regret starting with her. Of course I sold her but only to change her skin colour. Now I change her skin colour again. So I started with beautiful white, changed to normal skin and now I will get her in tan. I am faithful for her from the first day on.
The first doll I really wanted was Iplehouse Eric, there's something about the smirk his sculpt has that's so charming! I still would love to get him, although I really don't have any ideas of his character or even clothing style.
The first doll I wanted to buy was a DOD Shall. I didn't get her because she was out of my budget. I'll probably never get her because I don't like SDs size (too big for me).
The first doll I ever wanted was the first doll I ever saw -- a volks kun on y!japan, but this was nearly 14 years ago, and this year I finally brought a kun home and couldn't be happier.
I don't think I can remember exactly who the first doll I wanted to buy was, but one of the firsts was a Luts Senior65 Delf CYAN. I still admire him time to time, but I doubt I'll ever actually buy him.
The first doll i ever wanted was a DoD Petsha, I might bought her if I see her secondhand (fullset and nice price) but nowadays i think I prefer artist dolls
Mine first doll that I wanted to buy is huajing's Udora, is super pretty and cute, sadly I haven't bought this doll even thought I bought more and more dolls later on, I still love it alot!
Well I haven't bought my first doll yet but I already have it picked out. Minifee Celine. I planned joint custody of twins with my sister so both dolls would be the Minifee Celine but haven't bought it yet (got a few reservations about buying a BJD doll). But that's what I would buy first (plus since I'm still so new. I don't really have much knowledge of other sculpts)
First doll that actually motivated me to go out and try to buy them (instead of just admiring from afar with the assumption that it wasn't for sale/was too expensive) was actually Doll Chateau Andre, which is funny because I don't even really consider him particularly sought after anymore. I think I latched onto him because he was so strange looking, but he's really not that unusual in the context of DC...
the first doll iwanted to buy was something VOLKS lol i don't even remember. did i get it nope. to be honest i do't think i'll ever buy a volks doll. they are beautiful don't get me wrong but their not for me.
Resinsoul Mei Way back when i first discovered bjds, but I don't own her just yet! I really hope to one day, plus I have a floating head that i think her body would suit, so maybe i need two meis!
The first doll I fell in love with is Bibiane from Iple House. The whole iple house collection is so realistic looking and I love making my photos hard to tell if it's a real person or a doll lol
The first doll I really wanted to buy was a MiniFee Chloe and I got her after 2 years of saving money. I finally sold her to buy other dolls ... I have a lot of regrets to selling her, as all dolls I sold.
The first doll I wanted to buy was Norman 2.0 from Ringdoll. I didn't get him because other doll owners I know told me that they Photoshop their doll's face, the real doll didn't look like the official picture. And because of that, I will not get him.
I remember seeing Luts Delf Evelyn and I was in love! But to be honest, I’m glad I didn’t get her. I was still so new to the hobby at the time and hadn’t really looked into many sculpts, so I kind of latched onto her because she was pretty and I just craved a doll.
the first doll i wanted to buy was a soom glot, i just love the adorable pouty face. unfortunately the preorder period had already ended by the time i discovered her so i wasn’t able to get her..
A Little Monica Little Kliff. I thought he was just perfect. Then I liked the SD aesthetics more, so that plan did not take flight.
When i First Started in the hobby i knew i wanted a SID Iplehouse, i just didn't know what size, because of prices i had to settle for an IslandDoll for my first doll instead, don't get me wrong, i love my lil Amy but Iplehouse has always been my "Dolly Holy Grail" lol, btw i am about to order my first Iplehouse doll directly from the site! I'm so Happy! guess i'll have to look for another Holy Grail lol xD
