What size doll do you prefer?

Mar 14, 2025

    1. I mostly prefer 1/6 scale dolls.

    2. i really like 1/12 to 1/6 dolls, lol I already find 1/6 huge, but now I've ordered my first 1/4 and now I'm a little worried it's going to be huge

    3. I have 1/3 and 1/4 dolls. I have also had 1/6 dolls, but they are just too small for my liking. I have to say 1/4 is maybe my most favourite.

    4. I started off with a 1/6 doll and not so gradually made my way up to 1/3. Each time I thought "this size is perfect", but now I'm thinking that for future purchases I'll likely stick with 1/6 and 1/3 -- 1/6 because they're so adorable and not as terrible on the wallet and 1/3 because they have so many wigs/clothing options and I can see them best from afar!

    5. I started with 1/4, then went on to get a 1/3, a 70cm, and a 1/6. I really enjoy all sizes but in the end I find myself wanting to pose and redress my 1/4 dolls the most. I guess it really is just the perfect sIze for me.

    6. Usually, YoSD. MSD are for me too big xD Even if , my First Dreams were the SDs, It ended up to prefer YOSD size , thats perfect for me.

    7. I have only two dolls: One 1/4 and one 1/16! The 1/16 is super cute and sooo tiny, she fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. But as cute as she is, I think she is a little too small for me. 1/4 is perfect :)

    8. I'm open to many sizes but I've mainly ended up with a house full of 1/4th scale fantasy folks!
Im a sucker for a good fantasy doll and have a bunch of centaurs, mermaids, harpies, and satyrs. 1/4th scale seems to be the sweet spot for fantasy sculpts with all thier extra limbs and such, big enough to be detailed and mature but not so large as to be painful for carrying/posing.

    9. I love 1/4 doll because they still feel big, but not too big like a 1/3 doll.

    10. Size is just a number lol. I now have roughly even numbers of 1/6 and smaller, 1/4 and 1/3. I'm trying to strictly limit the 1/3 crew from here on as they do take up so much room. And by comparison, they make the smaller dolls seem so easy to store, what's 10 or 20 more?

    11. I prefer 1/3 dolls 56-64cm tall.

    12. 1/4 is just so pleasant! Awesome clothing and accessory choices with a wide variety of styles. Hardy enough to be substantial in your lap without being too heavy.

    13. 1/4 and 1/6 are my favourite!
1/6 dolls are very cute, and I love handling them. As well 1/4 are big but more manageable? I've never owned a 1/3 because of the price tag, but I have held one before. They're so heavy! (But gorgeous...)

    14. 35-40cm dolls are my favourite. It's a perfect in-between for me. They're portable when I'm hiking and I can take them anywhere easily compared with bigger dolls, but they're not as small as 25-30cm dolls and they're not as big as 40-45cm dolls, that sometimes the extra length is just more legs and not much else but they take more space and are a bit heavier in terms of portability (depending on the thickness of resin that is).
The only downside is finding shoes that fit, since most dolls in this size I've found have also an in-between feet size, but still worth it for me.
When it comes to clothes and faceups I do prefer 60-70cm size dolls though.

    15. I prefer 1/4 dolls. They are a size that is easy to handle. They can still look very realistic. 1/3 size dolls are actually more realistic for photography in nature, but they are too cumbersome for me to carry around. I couldn't cope with the size and weight of 1/3 dolls.
I also find 1/6 dolls very exciting.

    16. I like 1:4 dolls and 1:12 tinies, mostly.

    17. I adore 1/3 scale for their sheer presence-- but that presence can take up too much room... 1/4 is a fun size for going out and about with while still being larger than fashion dolls. I also have 1/6 and don't have any particular feelings one way or another at that scale tbh, but their tininess is cute.

    19. ^Same Same!

I hope they keep making that size, all the boys especially are getting bigger and bigger.

    20. i know, the trend really seems to be for 1/3 dolls to just keep growing...i hope i can still find a nice male body somewhere between 62 and 65cm when i finally get around to putting my old Elfdoll K head on one! i really enjoy what i guess would be considered the smaller end of 1:3 scale.

    21. 1/4 and 1/3!
Clothes look better on 1/3 doll somehow,
but I find 1/4 dolls face sculpt range more interesting.

    22. I like little dolls, 1/6 and smaller. I don't have a lot of living space so they fit better, and it's nice being able to hold your doll in one hand!

    23. I own just about every size (except the really really big guys) but I think my favorite is 1/4. It's the goldilocks zone of dolls for me. Still easy enough to sew for/find clothes for, unlike tinies in my experience, but not too big like a 1/3. Easy to carry around for a while, not too heavy or too possible to lose.

That said, once you have enough of them, the "don't take up as much space" thing kinda goes out the window.

    24. I've handled 1/3s and 1/4s and I prefer how dainty 1/4ths are. They're also a bit easier for me to handle, since I have nerve damage in one of my hands; plus they're easy to pick up and take outside for excursions and photos! 1/3s are really lovely but are just so daunting to me to dress, style, and then take along on a little trip for pictures. But that's just me!

    25. 1/3 for sure! I do like tinies for their portability and they are cute so they are the runner up.

    26. I've always really loved 1/4 and 1/3 dolls, with those making up most of my collection, though more recently I've expanded a bit to other sizes!

Now, I would say that the "Big Baby" 1/4 size is my favourite. I love how chunky they are, and they are a delight to hold and pose. I've also really started to like the versatility of 1/6 scale dolls, after previously swearing I would never start purchasing 1/6 scale dolls because I thought they would be too addictive. Unfortunately, I was right, and purchasing my first 1/6 girl second-hand opened the floodgates haha :sweat

    27. I prefer 1/4 MSD size due to space limitations. I'm amazed by the gorgeous 1/3 scale dolls I've seen but I don't have anywhere I can safely display them. 1/4 scale is a good compromise for me.
