What mythological character would you like to see as a doll?

al of thse in male or female with human heads and human parts...I like the half-breed idea, im biased I have an entire story dedicated to this sort of thing with not only japaneese monsters but european as well.

Elemantals - I'm not sure how youd do this with fantasy parts, but thats still something I'd like to see.

Minotaur, for sure. I like the red Ox from BBB, but I'd like to see something done in MSD or SD size.

More goat-legged characters. Satyrs, Fauns, and the like.

Dark Crystal Gelflings, absolutely.

Werewolves in MSD or SD size.

I see lots of winged angels and faeries, but I think it is high time for a Harpy.
Or a sphinx.

Anyone know neopets? There are some darigan pets there, if someone played that he/she knows what I meant.

 

I'd like to have any of the Greek gods. I'd rather they not be made by Soom though, as I'm not into their sculpts or bodies, even though I'm sure they'd be the ones to do it. But I'd be impressed if someone could make a sculpt with a big ole'-manly god-beard sculpted on the big muscley guys, a la the Greeks. I've seen the painted on beards and the synthetic wig beards on dolls and they do NOT work for me.

I'd personally love to see a naga (human/snake). Built like a mermaid bjd, but a snake. It's probably have really ornate accessories, like a deity.
I also really want to see more dragons, elves, satyrs, centaurs, and all other mythological beings. Dollmakers have so much creativity and they really need to do fantasy creatures more oftern, I think they're amazing. (Leekeworld's current Ent project rocks!)

 

A sphinx would be really neat, or something like a griffin, a taloned front like some of SOOMs dolls have been and then a centaur-like lion body I'd like to see more centaur-style dolls in general

 

I want to see a shark god, mostly human with fins and a great shark mer-tail! He'd also need a mouth full of great pointy teeth

 

These dolls are a little more possible now if you can draw places like Nobility will sculpt for you. They have done two different mermaid tails now.

 

I would love to see Medusa. I'm not sure how feasible a head full o'snakes would be, but it is certainly fun to imagine!

I would love to see a Crystal/Clear or Transparent blue doll. Not even the whole body, but just for like the hands and feet perhaps?

 

I would like to design the bakeneko/cat. i was disappointed with Soom's MSD cat dolls and would like to make my own and send it to Nobility. They were cute but I wanted more cat like legs.

 

I would love to see valkyries as a bjd. maybe i'll turn my girl into gwendolyn from odin sphere... or norse mythology in general.

Any character from Final Fantasy would look good imo especially shiva and thefire one (cant seem to recall the name ><) apart from that i thik hooves and antlers look particularly nice too.

I really like the four armed doll Shiva from SoulDoll, she definitely has the mythical feel and great to work on

A naga would take a lot of engineering or the tail would look awful. But I know a lot of people who want one!

 

I don't think this character is fictional, but I love seeing bjd's as angels. I remember seeing a custom Berman? who had the most remarkable wings in a Haute Doll a couple of years ago, I think the faceup artist called the doll Uriel after a Renassaince angel from a painting. Since then, one of hte things on my list if I ever get enough to get a Mecha Angel is to create a doll with realistic wings, like Gabriel, or the warrior angel Michael.

As for mythology, maybe some of the goddesses like Athena, Aphrodite, or Apollo. It would be interesting to see those interpretations.

Another character I would like to see or make myself is Cleopatra...I think an Egyptian queen would simply be awesome, with Caesar beside her.

 

Pheonix is defintetly a good idea , your mind could go wild with all the various creation idea's that could go in, from armour or whatnot, preferably i could picture a beautiful girl with a feiry determined face, and elegant feathers surrounding her like wild flame's, with a feather-ripped dress perhaps and bare petite feet n_n her hair could be wild and fiery looking too , of red or orange or multi-color, and long enough to be the substitute of where the tail feathers would be

 

Definitely Hades and Persephone. I've had an obsession with them since I was little, and I'd KILL to have a blue-skinned Hades with fierce eyes and a tall lanky figure.

Seconding this. SOOM made an Anubis doll and its one of my absolute favorites! I would like to see Sehkmet or Ra as dolls personally

I think something as simple as a drow should be done.

Its just a big eared elf with almost black skin. Like ebony-dark, but maby a little more purple to make it more of a skin tone than a crayon color.
I guess its just a matter of making darker resin, and some places make a grey thats kinda close to the right color... but it would make me smile to have a real one.

I like the idea of an Artimis/Appollo set, but I'd rather see it on an SD, rather then the little YOSD island dolls. The bigger ones would allow for more detail and cooler outfits

I'm also a huge saytr fan and like the hoved dolls, but the horns they come with are all too often way too big. So attachable/detachable horns that are more of a spiral kinda look, rather than like big hell-boy horns.

To dip into an anime theme, I think making persocoms, like Chii, from Chobits would be way too cool. A persocom inspired line that allowed for people to create their own would be spiffy too. (oh, just side tracked myself, sorry) But a chobit could be as simple as attachable ear do-hikies.

 

Loki! Definitely Loki! Preferably the one from the current "Thor"-movie - but really, any Loki will do ...

We definitely need a naga. Also, I want alien dolls xD I'm modding one for myself now but I'd love to see them available for purchase. Alien feetsies, antenna maybe, tails perhaps... So many things you could do

 

I personally always wanted to see Samael, the angel of death as a BJD. I actually plan on getting a 90cm bjd as my first doll, just to create that character. I've wanted to do that for a year now. I think that it would be a really great idea.

I Would Love to see more Vampire Dolls, and i would love to see Gargoyle, mermaids, Dragons, Wolfs, Angels, Demons, Gods, Goddesses alot of fantasy one because i don't think there are alot of ones out there.

 

I'm already pretty impressed with what various companies have come up with. However, like many others: a mermaid and naga with good-looking tails would be something I still would enjoy seeing.

 

Dragons, ogres, Pegasus. I really like dark evil grotesque characters. More elves would be great too!

 

i would love to see mermaids or mermaid parts that can be bought and mixed with your doll, i would love to see a tail that i could buy to go onto my doll when she arrives! I love the horns, hooves, wings and other things you can buy so they should add more tails!!

Always wanted a dragon, too. I have so many dragons in my story, I've always wanted to see a dragon.

But in terms of an actual character, I would love to see a Horus or a Set [Egyptian gods]

Artimus and Apollo are high on my list too. I want to set them up with their own tiny little silver bows and golden arrows (or was it the other way around...) I will totally go all-out when if finally get around to putting this set together.

And oh mermaids... as a sculptor and someone who's been watching the various doll-sculpting communities for several years, I'd say that every sculptors' dream at this point seems to be trying to make a mermaid tail that looks like a mermaid tail. So far we've yet to come up with a perfect solution to the problem, the artists who have done mermaids usually go with either a joint in the knee area or two to three joints in the tail. I've been working in 3D modeling for a while trying to come up with a shape I could use to do a spine-type structure made up of a couple dozen little plates. Still haven't figured it out though...

I would love to see a realistic tail myself, i sculpt tails onto other dolls but one for a bjd that was realistic would be amazing! I have seen some but they don't really look very mermaid to me and they have so many joints! I hope you can master a mermaid tail for us all to see!!

 

I would love my female dolls to look like an angel while male dolls I would prefer them to be demonic type n___n
