What mythological character would you like to see as a doll?

A chinese were-tiger..... I read about these in a semi-chinese detectivestory once.
As much as I love the idea of werewolves I'm more of a cat person.
Unfortunately most of the half-cat dolls I've seen are made to be cute rather than scary.
I'd also like to see what Soom would do with the Norse pantheon, especially Thor, god of Thunder...

Maybe a Fenghuang would be good? (They're sort of like a pheonix...) Or maybe even a Kumiho? (It's a many-tailed fox:3)

 

I would love to see more mermaid based characters... With fins and the like. I have only seen a couple floating around and it would be really nice to see more.

 

I'd love to see Persephone and Demeter - individually or as a mother-daughter set.

 

I know I posted here a while back, but I didn't really think about it until yesterday D: I would looove to see a BJD Naga. (You know, the creatures with the torso of a human but the bottom half of a snake?) That would be awesome!

 

Oh! It would be cool to have an awesome Kratos BJD! They could even make a cute, mini-sized version...OR a succubus, with posing demon wings, removable horns! A fairy doll, with resin wings, or maybe a tarantula/octopus anthro..? The doll world's ideas and posing innovations never ceases to amaze me, and I think SOOM is looking over these and coming up with ideas that Kratos Mini..I'd love to have that :XD OH and like above, a snake girl would be waaaay awesome!

 

Hmmmm...maybe werewolves? That would be easy, right? You can have two versions: human and the transformed version.

It would be kind of cool if a company started doing significant mythical characters from around the world. That would be very interesting and educational too!

 

Naga! Oh I want a naga. -whines- And more centaurs and mermaids..and a werecat of some sort..heck..anthro SD's..

 

I'd love to see more anime based dolls with far out costumes. Love the full metal alchemist suggestions. How cool would automail parts be? Also wouldn't mind seeing a Dante from Devil may cry. And of course I love vampire stuff. (Just got a dollpire from Dollmore!)

Those are "actual dragon horns". Sphaler is a Korean dragon. You're probably referring to Western-style dragons.

 

Cyclops!! I'm totally entranced with the photo of DM's 3 Eyes Victor Lou where he's blindfolded the two human eyes. Any other greek mythological figures would be awesome too, can you imagine a harpy made by Soom?

I'd like to see Pele and Maui. Both with really Polynesian features. Maui would need some serious muscle, after all, in the stories he lassoed the sun and pulled the Islands from the bottom of the sea!
Pele needs to be beautiful, with a wig with texture, and eyes of flame.

 

Hmm, an Isis or Osiris doll would be wonderful, I love anything egyptian.

Maybe a goddess like Aphrodite, Athena, or Apollo...you could do awesome things with the skin tones & eyes.

Though I know it is/has been done, I'd like to see angels- I saw a pic in Haute doll of the 70 cm male doll by Mecha Angel, I think with gorgeous wings, wearing jeans, and it just was a beautiful sculpt......Maybe an Archangel Gabriel, Michael, something like that.

 

It seems some people interpret this thread as mythological composite creatures with special body features, or fully other-species creatures, they'd like to see companies cast in resin, while other requests/comments seem to just be listing characters they'd like to see someone do with an existing doll. Otherwise, I don't understand the requests for fully human gods and goddesses or angels/demons, especially those who don't have historically specifically described facial features, or who are primarily indicated by their garb or accoutrements.

There's already such a wide variety of body types and faces out there, that many requests would seem to find their answers in special costuming, wings, wigs, eyes or special accessories (including possibly a second "transformation head'), or special mods such as dyeing, apoxie, limb mods, etc. Maybe we should have a thread specifically for pix of dolls that have already been done up as specific angels, gods, or other human mythological/religious personages?

 

I would really love to see a gryphon - four legged and all! I know it would come under anthro probably, but it would be so cool X3

I think I'd like to see more dragons. I liked soom's dragon boy, but more! Western, Asian, any dragons. I don't think it's a mythological character, but I'd also like to see zombie dolls, maybe with slightly off skin color as the natural color, with scars and maybe amputated limbs. I don't know if I'd get it, but I think it would really look amazing. I also liked the Soom Bix, it really reminds me of district 9. So what I'd want to see now would be like one demon hand, maybe having the 'demon' side taking over the body. I think that would be cool. Man I would buy that in a heartbeat.

I don't know if anyone mentioned a cecaelia (Human/Octopus) yet, but I want to see one so bad I'm gonna be making it ! All of these sound so fun to make, I think this thread is going to be my new home if this first doll works out well

Mermaids, for sure. But more like a stylized, water spirit form, because extreme things like jointed tails aren't my cup of tea

 

Hmm...I don't know how you could make this, but what about a Selkie? Although, I suppose you could do as part of a set-human form and seal form.

And one thing I love is Soom's mermaid?/water spirit children with the translucent resin. I would love to a ghost with translucent extremities.

 

What type of anthro or fantasy parts would you love to see come out for BJD's(beside what's already out)? I personally would love to see a Naga(snake) tail for my boy.

I would like a pegasus. There has been unicorn but no pegasus. Tiny pegasus would be awesome. Tiny white boy pegasus. (SOOM..please read this..xD)

My ultimate wish is Kyuubi..or the nine tails fox. Human with fox ears and nine bushy fox tails..(handsome human (yes a boy please)). And tiny size! Or MSD.

Hel would be Fun just because of how different she would be compared to what's usually on the market... Again, with the "I know it's not technically 'Mythology' I would like to see an elf with a spiders lower body... Driders for any of you who would know what those are... Other than that, I just want to see a decent pair of wings for a SD doll...

 

More wing-centric ideas: A Hermes-esque doll with actual resin wings attached to it's ankles, and since I'm on the subject of wings in unusual places, I'm not sure if anyone else but me would find this interesting but, a doll with wings on the hips. I realize that would be torture to find clothing for, but I think it'd be an interesting concept.

Or a gorgon doll... actually I think I may have seen this somewhere before.

 

I think a Pegasus doll would be awesome. I picture this tall thin elegant gorgeous guy with long floor length flowing white hair and huge white wings that are just enormous. I also have to agree on the Kyuubi one, although for that one I see a girl.

Hmmm... Well, I like Luts' new LE anthros, and I've never really liked anthros much before.
Maybe some of those themes put onto an MSD? Like the witch, succubus, nine-tailed fox... etc.

I suppose most of you have never heard of a band named Omnia, they could have been extremely popular, but they choose not to. Even sent managers away who had such great ideas, lol :P. But it's a joy to see them perform

 

I'd like to see gorgon dolls, like Medusa. Although not ugly just with snakes for hair and such.

There's a lot of cool ideas here! I didn't read them all, just about a page, but I would've never thought of a lot of these.
It'd be cool to see a mermaid-type doll, with the big fin for feet. Or regular feet with like... Flippers. Those be easier to switch if wanted.
Though any mystical creature in general I think would make a cool doll, really.

 

I would like to see a werewolf kind of doll, a doll with dragon wings or something of the like (he could be sort of half dragon or something) and some more half human dolls, like dolls with wings from various mythical creatures, or ones with horse bodies or other animal bodies. That'd be excellent I think

 

for some of the ppl into dolls with the horns, tails, furry ears and hooves and such i recommend looking at the soom limiteds. many of them fit that aesthetic.

personally i would like to see some sort of doll representative of medusa or something like that. mainly because i would love to see how a company would create her "hair" full of snakes. also when companies like soom make the really fantastical limited anthro type dolls they also have parts that come with the doll that would be 'normal.' i would be interested in seeing what that would look like with a doll like this.

I am obsessed with mermaids, I have been ever since I was a child. So naturally, I want a mermaid doll! (I have a ton of Ariel dolls already, a BJD one would be the icing on the cake!) I would also love a Freyja doll, as in the Norse Goddess.

I know Final Fantasy isn't really mythological, but a Shiva doll (especially FFX Shiva) would be amazing!

 

Tecnicaly, a woman with a lion for the lower half of her body is practically one of the depictions of a sphinx. Speaking of which, a sphinx would be great. *drool* Only difference is, I believe the paintings of the sphinx with a full (or nearly full female upper body) have wings instead of arms... If I remember right...

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I would love to see more egyptian-themed ones....
For example, one could have a normal male or female head and body (perhaps egyptian-styled) but with an option for the animal-god head! A falcon, lion/cat, crocodile, jackal, ibis, ox....all of those would be awesome egyptian option heads! (I've seen one Anubis mod that was completely awesome)

I would also love to see a Phoenix-themed doll? Hmmm, I should try to do that myself *gets ideas*

Thought of another one! After watching Pirates of the Caribbean on tv the other day I thought, "You know what would be cool, a Cthulhu doll." (Davy Jones totally makes me think Cthulhu). I don't think I'd actually buy one but I would definitely love to see one.

Also, as Silver said, the Egyptian gods and goddesses. I actually thought an Anubis would be really neat looking (off to scour the forums for photos). Or even a Sphinx.

 

I want to see trolls. Lots of trolls. Preferably the smaller, gentle, Scandinavian type. :'D

I always wanted an Artemis doll, she has been my favorite goddess for a long time XD Maybe with a Bow and Arrow, that would be so cool!

 

I want a unicorn doll with an actual unicorn-like tail.. no horse tails, preferably MSD sized.

I've been thinking about possibly modding one of my future dolls into one, but I know if I do that, I'll also do a plant-boy ( specifically, a human-like rose).

 

I want to see a Kelpie... and something with tentacles, like an octopus, just for the fun of it. :'D
