What mythological character would you like to see as a doll?

actually I think cupid was made as a small doll - but not enough for me. I'd like to see him as a big doll.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but I'd love to see Echo and Narcissus as dolls.

I imagine Narcissus being really quite beautiful, all dollified.

 

I really love Greek myths so anything from those stories really.

 

Mmmm. This is a hard one.
Probably a nymph or a siren.
The siren would have the special Dollmore mermaid ears, her skin either a porcelain white or it's dyed a light blue, with adsheive/hot glued jewelry, and intricate tattooing.
The feet might be modded to webbed feet or fins from a custom mold, and the scales would be done in a body blushing style.

In general I would love to see merfolk/demon fish.

Hands with claws and legs like SOOm's sard and beryl ((where theres a backward joint)) but instead of hooves have lions feet. And a pair of removable feather wings, of coarse! I'm not sure about the bird beak though... that might be going to far... maybe like a mask or something, like sooms IO. And the coll would have a pair of regular legs and hands too.
I really like soom...

 

I would love to see a pheonix. Tattoed or dyed skin and magnetic wings / tail feathers. He or she would be beautiful.

I'm waiting for Soom to make a dragon. You know; reptile feet (with movable toes preferably), clawed and scaly hands, horns and/or ear fins with a human face. Maybe with a dragon mask like they did with Windwalker and the lion head or a jointed tail.

I'll just keep waiting, they'll get to it eventually :3

 

I have a fondness for Ki'Rin... (Kirin, Ki'lin, Kilin... however you want to spell it.) Maybe a doll with hoofed legs, scales going up the first half of its legs... And then horns or antlers...

I am in love with idea of scales on dolls... maybe something like a siren/mermaid/selkie with scales, fins... paint the scales a nice iridescent color that shimmers... Lots of pearls...

I'm also absolutely in love with the idea of the 'clear resin' that Soom is using now... I'd like to see more done with that.

 

I would love to see more wings for dolls in general. Angelic wings, but also demonic batlike wings.

But as a whole character... I'd love to see centaur.
And egyption gods, with their animal faces.
And valkyries.

 

I would love to see some Harpies and a really seductive succubus. Beryl was nice, but she looked so moody and angry. I want to see a seductive, attractive and smirking succubus.

 

I'd like to see a devil or a centaur. side note: i really hope the Soom doll for December/Saggitarius is a Centaur. that would be awesome since i'm a Saggi.

 

Centaur/Centauride that's at least MSD-sized. (This Sagittarius loves her sign ), Dragon (wings/feet/tail, possibly hands), Werewolf (recent AoD one isn't to my fancy at all), Kitsune.

Maybe a valkyrie or two, and I know they aren't strictly speaking mythological, but a character or two from the Iliad as well. Yom. They'd have to be at least relatively athletic though, I'm saving my bishie-boy delicate sculpt for... I dunno, a Johan Leibert or a Jonathan Harker doll. (Only one of which really counts as great literature and hence modern mythology... but hey, everybody needs a slightly wussy solicitor. Or a sadistic villain with a pretty face...) Somebody having an Orpheus or an Apollo would be nice, but you'd have to deal with the fact that neither was necessarily a great catch in modern terms. For girls besides valkyries, maybe some sidhe, not all kindly in nature... just think of the long nails.

 

I'd like to see a Shiva doll (like Shiva from FFX) That would be amazing!

My personal bests are: Thanatos (God of Death and Mortality) and Morpheus (God of Dreams) . As for the ladies I' d like to see Ophelia based on Millais painting http://www.tate.org.uk/ophelia/ (but she is not a mythical character )

 

The Goddess Ishtar as she is depicted on the relief and commonly and too often confused with lilith *face palm* ^^;; Clawed feet. wings and horned helmet.

I am quite infatuated with her character since I studied "the descent to the anderworld" during my Akkadian lessons at uni... She struck me as the most miss-interpreted goddess around and one hell of a trouble maker ... it would be fun to have a doll depiction of her around ^_^.

Also - due to my Mesopotamian obsession - Gilgamesh and Enkidu... I am already plotting all those for the far future... *dreams*

I shouldn't really start thinking this way... soon enough I would be saving up for the entire Mesopotamian Pantheon XD.

 

Gosh, if SOOM ever did a SD Centaur, There goes my next three christmas and birthday presents...

Plus, it would be more of an art peice. i would not be able to bring myself to play with him/her xD

 

Since I am an anime fan I'd love to see some dolls based on characters like the major from Ghost in the Shell. Or some really 'moe' characters like 'Noe' from 'True Tears'.

On the other end of the scale I'd love to see more anthro characters with proper hair on their bodies. Imagine a werewolfe that has a hairy body!

well these a few mythology/ fantasy based dolls that I would love to see out here:

A sfinx/chimera/manticore based doll,
A true Drow elf,
A Lolth priets/priestess, (upper body human, lower body spider)
A lizzard based doll,
Any dolls based on ancient greek or egyptian gods/creatures,

and I totally second Animorpher with the suggestion of a Valkyrie/Amazone at least strong elegant female warrior doll (somewhat less fantasy like than lets say a DOD I-ra or Petsha, )

I would just like to see special legs and hands (Hooves, claws, webbed, etc.) sold a la carte in white and normal colors so that one could mod ordinary dolls to be fantasy creatures without breaking the bank or splitting LE dolls. I like the Soom fantasy dolls, but would rather make my own with a face I love.

I would love to see an Arachne creature...A spider woman BJD...the torso would be part of the spider body...and all the spider legs would be jointed. That would be so cool.

Think what Hercules and Athena would look like as BJDs. What about Zeus and Posidon? What about Mercury?Icurus and Deadalus? Diana, Helena. How about Heroditus?Aphrodite etc just to name a few. How about Pandora.They would be wonderful.
For that matter how about Alexander the Great. How about Madusa, Jason.
But that is only in the European tradtion. I am sure the Asian tradition has heros and myths of their own.

 

Definitely the Lord of the Rings; Aragorn, Legoless, Arwyn, Eowyn... (sorry for the misspellings of any names!). Of course, I'm influenced by the movies, all those GORGEOUS costumes (and beautiful actors). Oh! And I'd love to see more ethinic varieties as well. And I agree with a previous post that Nefertiti would make a gorgeous doll!

A Japanese-version of a Kirin.

I am working on the idea of creating two models. One, a bjd - in human form of a Kirin. And, second, a stationary quadraped-type Kirin for the bjd's to ride on.

The bjd human form Kirin would be a bjd with wig, eyes, face-up, & clothing that simulated the decorative appearance of a Kirin.

The stationary Kirin model, for the bjd's to ride, will have a wood & metal armature to be able to support the weight of the dolls. I think a ball-jointed quadraped might collapse under the weight of a doll or dolls sitting on its back.

 

I love seeing mythologycal creatures. The mermaids from puki were so sweet, and the Centurs i have seen look amazing. I'd love to see a fully posable Naga, as ive seen a couple of attempts on smaller dolls, but a larger 40/60/cm one could look amazing if done properly.

 

I'd love to see a werewolf myself, with interchangeable legs and other parts like the Soom dolls.

 

Derae_Johnstone - have you seen AOD's (Angel of Dream) werewolf? He has three faces; human, transformed wolf, and half-way one. With claws. Should check it out.

I would love more dragon, hooved, mermaid (I love the ears you see on those guys) type of dolls.

 

This is probably strange, but something related to unicorns. It would be very cool to see a doll themed version. Like a SD sized horse/thing. 8D It would be neat!

I was watching Children of Dune earlier and realized that one of the Spicers (the bright blue eyes guys) would make an awesome doll.

For more traditional mythology...centaurs would be pretty cool to do. As would valkyries....but not the winged angel kind. The dark, demonlike beings they originally were. I'd also like to see a more traditional anthromophic doll, like, not just the ears and tail being cat/wolf/whatever, but actually having the fur markings. Like Pipos, but bigger and more elegant. I would love to make a Brittany Diggers BJD! She's the cheetah one.

For the different skin tones, Bobobie does have green and blue skins.
