Thanks to Quenthel, I got to try some Alice's collection hoodies on Caelan. Size is for 70 cm man, and they fit surprisingly well! A bit tight in the chest, but okay. Hoodie #1 Hoodie #2
I love the entire outfit and color combination of green and grey!!!! He looks amazing! Shael wears the 70cm Alice's Collection hoodie looks good in these pics but its way too tight, specially on shoulders, he can barely move/pose. And the check pants don't close ... Oh well... but at least my nYID girl wears it well! ;D
Just thought I'd throw in that even though the inner length is 9.5, these boots from Alice's Collections do NOT fit the SID boys: http://www.alicescollections.com/bt330-p-1421.html?cPath=1_20 You couldn't get those feet into these things with a crowbar. However, their sneakers for the 70-75 boys fit these guys quite well. http://www.alicescollections.com/mu00310-in-stock-p-4578.html?cPath=68_73 A little bit loose, but as I understand it, that's better than the IH ones, which are a bit too tight! Anyway, they look good, are proportionate...and they cost a LOT less.
Hey guys! I'm looking for a specific kind of shoes for my boy Hugo to complete his look. Does anyone know where there are shoes like this that can fit an SID Iplehouse boy? I've been checking my usual haunts like Iplehouse and Leekeworld, but there's no luck there.
http://www.freedomteller.net/shop/step1.php?number=156&b_code=B20110812020457 These aren't exactly like that but it's the closet I know of.
Those are really close though! Thank you, Jacobean!! You're like, always there when I need you. Thanks!
There are these in Alices Collections. They are for 70s, but I strongly suspect they will be too narrow. http://www.acbjd.com/sh341-p-4789.html?cPath=1_21
AW DAMN those would be so perfect!! I'm almost tempted to take the risk...It sucks that they don't have the width measurement there. I wonder if we could compare using other shoes from the same place on Iplehouse SID?
Are you talking about the Alice's Collection ones? You could try asking. The worst that could happen is that they don't answer (which is what seems to happen when people reckon they won't get a sale out of you. No idea what this site owner is like on responding to emails, though). If they are made like the brogues that are usually available for 70s, they will be too narrow. I have some of the leather ones from Dollmore that look pretty similar for the basic shape and I am pretty they won't fit. I will have a go for you, though.
I own these shoes and they definitely would not fit the SID guy. I could barely get them on to my Dollshe boy. I don't know how similar in fit the black and white shoes are to those though.
I'll ask and see how wide they are! That's a good idea. Thank you Madam! That would be really helpful TT UTT These type of shoes are really integral for my doll's character and I just can't see him without them. I'm sure you all know how that goes!
That's incredibly helpful, though! Thank you very much. I just sent them an e-mail, so we'll see if they make it or break it and if we'll have to continue the search from there!
Nope. Mine won't go on, or anywhere near going on. They are similar in shape to svgjen's and have to got onto my Dollmore Model boy's feet with the back of a spoon. Good luck, anyway. You never know.
Oh a spoon! Thanks for mentioning that. I'm surprised I didn't rip my poor Dollshe boy's foot off getting those shoes on him. Spoon. I'll remember that.
BTW, these little mini rubber spatulas make dandy shoehorns, too: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/silicone-jar-spatula/s430725?a=1552 (But I most often use this weird-but-perfectly-shaped plastic tool that comes with my electric toothbrush. xD) Here on the bluejeans front, StrangeAngels makes incredible stretch-jeans that allow a big-bottomed SID boy to sit down without unbuttoning, and even kneel. They also have a working watch-pocket & teensy widdle rivets. I have more pictures of Istvan modelling these, but am still editing... I was just too stoked with these jeans not to share a snapshot right away. ^^ StrangeAngels is the Wizard of Pants.
No dice! I got the e-mail back from them after sending them the measurement's of Hugo's feet and they won't fit! Especially with Madam's testimony, I'm sure that they won't work with Hugo. Perhaps my other doll, Ellery, but the shoes don't git his character. ;____; The search continues.
I'll keep my eyes open, Etherelle. I need something similar for one of my girls so have a look at all of them, with a hopeful eye. JennyNemesis, those are some fierce jeans. What is the cut like? Did you take a full body photo? But wow, yes, I might well need some of those. Are they based on DoA?
Yes ma'am, StrangeAngels is here on DOA. She sells through Etsy, but if you PM her here & ask for pants I bet she'd make you some. She has a SID fit-model at home, so the jeans fit like they were painted right on him. They are fairly high-waisted, which seems to be the secret to covering that giant ass while allowing him to sit. I will get to that photoshow soon, where there's more views. But here's the full-body shot you asked for (and a bonus leg shot): They sure don't make that ass look any smaller, though. xD
JennyNemesis, thank you for sharing those jeans! I may have *already* started inquiring about some of those for my boy... Etherelle, what about these shoes? I own them and they do go on SID feet just fine, though they look a bit comically large.
Sweet! Through our teamwork combined, hopefully we'll find something! I'm determined to find these shoes for my boy. OH YEAH those jeans are wonderful!! It would be so nice to have a pair that don't require unbuttoning the front for them to sit down.
Those are some awesome jeans. Very, very nice. Not keen on high waists, but I imagine you are right that this the only way to avoid dolly builder's cleavage.
They look even better with his shirt off, because then you get to see exactly where they sit on the line of his waist & hips, and they don't seem so high-cut then. They sit below his navel. :3 Untucking that tank-top might've helped, too (but I didn't wanna hide the rivets ). OK, I guess now that I've opened my big mouth, now I have to go take shirtless pictures of them to show everyone, don't I? Doh. Stay tuned later.
I noticed that my boy's bum wasn't exposed in a sitting position when wearing these jeans from Iplehouse: http://iplehouse.com/home/shop/item.php?it_id=1323928850&nhn1=en He also doesn't need them unfastened. They're actually fairly loose in the waist. I love those jeans above. I would like to have a pair for my boy.
Flimsy excuse if ever I've heard one. No, really, it would be useful to see. Useful and...other things. I have some leather trousers custom made by one of the eBay sellers (it seems so long ago I can't remember which. Sunny's? Mybayer? Not sure. Anyway, it is this set, which seems to be everywhere http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leather-Coat-Suit-Outfit-Clothes-SD17-DZ70-BJD-Dollfie-/160628835580?pt=US_Dolls_Bears_Toys&hash=item25663984fc). The trousers are a little loose and quite high-waisted, but they do cover his bum when sitting, so perhaps that is the way to go.
I always kept hovering my finger over the Buy button for those until I remembered I didn't like those odd zigzag seams. Was hoping Iples would have a pair of plain ones someday. Anyway, the sizing on those does look pretty good. What I have noticed about regular/relaxed-cut Iplejeans in EID/SID/JID sizes is that, if the waistband is loose enough to fasten the snap easily, he's got a good chance of being able to sit. Skinny jeans, on the other hand-- if you cut them properly low, like the way the IRL hipster-boys wear them, they'd fall completely off SID's ass when he sat down. Not to say that wouldn't be pleasant, of course, but, snrk. Yes, I got that coat from Tata's Paradise - but I don't recall the leather pants being available in plus sizes. How'd you get them to do a custom size for you? I would like leather SID pants indeed, plain black ones that allow sitting. I've got the ones that come with the Quilted Leather set, and they fit low on his hips & tight in the butt, shows off all his assets, fits like a dream-- but only as long as he's standing up. They're so tight that even after fully unzipping, he can't even bend his legs at the hips. ;;^^
I messaged whoever it was on eBay (probably mybayer) and asked for a custom size. I provided measurment, et voila. They aren't bad at all, considering they were from measurements only. And everyone should have a pair of leather trousers (except perhaps me, given my advanced years. It would just be embarrassing).
OK, OK, OK! I will get Istvan to strip to the waist for us this weekend. Please stand by *beeeep*. That's brilliant! What a coup! Usually when people sew pants blindly just from measurements, you get all sorts of ill-shaped things. Especially when it comes to the curvy Iplehouse men (from JID up to EID) - most people are so used to assuming skinny hips & no ass for BJD clothes, they always underestimate the giant butt & the deep sway in the lower back. Even StrangeAngels prefers to lay hands on a doll-body at least once before sewing pants for it, to get the nuances of the body-shape, otherwise the painted-on look fails. Note to self, give Mybayer a try for big-ass leathers. Sounds like they've got great sewing-fu. Word. Ermm, that is to say, word to those who have young enough thighs for the job...
Update for lovely everyone! Istvan was only too happy to strip down and model his jeans without so much other fabric to get in the way. He's such an obliging lad. As we can see, they no longer look so high-waisted when viewed au naturel. StrangeAngels said she actually did go out of her way to make them not look like granny-jeans... xD I think she experimented with raising & lowering the waistline until she found the ideal rise that'd still look sexy in front while fitting properly in the bum. And, umm, here's the whole voyeuristic-thrill Gallery jeans show, for those who really really really need to see all the seaming for, y'know, artistic reasons. = > http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...jeans-5-(Istvan-Iplehouse-SID-Claude-img-hvy)
Does somebody know if some of nYID clothes will fit SIDs? On iple's photos it looks like they are pretty similar in size...I'd like to buy some shirts^_^
Tonight I put these jeans on my SID Claude. They go on and actually fasten just fine but they look painted on. He can't sit in them at all but I was still pleased they went on easily.
Hi everyone, just bought my first BJD (SID Claude). Really excited! I was wondering if anyone can direct me to the right place to buy a wig that will fit a SID man? On a side note I'm also looking for some red urethane eyes.
My Claude is wearing an 8-9 wig from Leeke. Raine by Jen Savage, on Flickr Just look for an 8-9 anywhere that sells doll wigs and you should be fine.
Thanks svgjen. Does anyone know if this shirt would fit a SID Man in the size 70cm? http://www.acbjd.com/adsb039-p-6242.html?cPath=3_165 I just thought that since it is open in the back it might work.
Okay so from my understanding, the SID shoes that Iplehouse sells are incredibly snug on them, and the EID shoes fit better but are a little large on them? What about the EID Greta shoes? Would they fit on the SID greta feet? http://iplehouse.com/home/shop/item.php?it_id=1540162616&nhn1=en I would really like a style of shoes like this for my boy when he arrives, some kind of sandals even. I still have to look around elsewhere, I just figured I'd ask here about these ones in particular. :3
SID arms and shoulders are far too broad to wear SD17 jackets. You might have luck with a loose shirt (I have a halter top for SD17 boys that fits on the SID torso) but anything tighter will be too small. I have a pair of SD17 hot pants and they're too tight to fasten, so I imagine regular trousers or shorts won't fit either.
After recently contacting Alice's Collections via email in regards to whether or not an outfit would fit my Feeple65 Chloe... I was so kindly informed that not all but some clothing including their male outfits, shirts, pants and military outfits can be customised to fit your doll if measurements are specified in the comments section upon finalising your payment. Here is a link to their 'Custom Size' page... I will be potentially purchasing clothing for my Addiction Vampire Claude from them whilst he's on layaway I've always found Alice's Collections' responses to be fast and super polite and as far as websites go they rate pretty high for customer service and hey, they have a shipping offer stating: " Free Air Mail Shipping: For orders over $35 and under 1kg, there will also be a tracking number." What a steal, right!? Hope this helps!!
Yup, some of the clothes can be custom sized. I've done this for both my Dollshe boy and my EID girl. It's all the SPO, SPB and SPG stuff. Sadly it's rarely the stuff I like best. There are some other places you can custom order clothes as well like Yomidoll: http://www.yomidoll.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=85 We should add links on the first page to shops where custom size clothes can be ordered. I'm going to do up a webpage that lists this stuff for easy access... I have a site sitting around empty so I'm going to start adding resources to it: http://fortheloveofdolls.com/ That way at least there will be a list in one place and since my site is run off a friend's actual server, it's not going anywhere.
Are you talking about the guy shoes? That's....disappointing to hear. They are at least $40 minimum... And woohoo! I've been eyeing this thread for months (Well not intensively) and now I can finally post. I really appreciate the team work that's going on here.
I just ordered shoes from Sunny's world and they did not fit. Also for the Dollmore Model and they did not fit as well. Very frustrated on getting shoes.
Oh shoot, I was all excited over the SIDs but I didn't realize they would be so tough to dress ): I wanted clothes from Nine9Style but I guess they won't fit! Looks like an SID head might be okay on a YID body but the YID body is so young looking :/
Have you looked at Freedom Teller yet? They don't have a lot, but they keep adding. Soom's Mecha Angel sweats, Alice's Collections has a huge selection of sneakers that fit, there are a lot of incredible DoA members that customize (I have the best distressed jeans EVER that were made by one of our talented tailors)...I guess it all depends on how badly you want a SID. I wouldn't trade my guys for all the dolly wardrobes in the world.
Yeah... SIDs aren't that much easier to dress than EIDs. (Although there's a bit more available for them.) It's just that the SID size is easier for some people to handle... Those EID guys are pretty big and heavy! (Girls, not so much.) SD17 clothes are close... but the chest and shoulders really can be way too big to fit. It is possible to fit SOME styles of SD17 SHOES... I've tried some SD17 Dollheart shoes on my SID guy, and some styles fit, but it was hard to predict unless you actually go and try them on!!! (which sadly isn't possible in most cases) Someone said Soom Megagem clothes might fit. Or is that the other way around??? (SID stuff on Megagems ?) Iplehouse SID shoes. I bought one pair of black boots (the shiny ones with ties wrapped around it) that were REALLY tight. But I CAN get them on... That really worried me--but I've since bought other IH SID boots and they fit just fine...
How about eye glasses? And can anyone tell me what's the best sweaters available, please? I assume it's iplehouse's own sweaters. Unfortunately I'm a bit color blind and the color choices they have don't really pop out in my eyes I tried checking out necha angel sweats, but it seems like it doesn't exist anymore
You know, quite honestly for a sweater, I'd see if I could commission one from one of the awesome knitters on Etsy that specialize in BJD knits. I have sweaters from both SquirrelMoonKnits and Poisonbleu on Etsy and they're all fantastic. There's a few other BJD knitters on Etsy, but I haven't bought from them yet. Edited to add, regarding SID and Mega Gem: I have both a SID and a Mega Gem body. I don't have any Mega Gem specific clothes, but they do share SID clothes quite easily. Though the lower-waisted SID pants get dangerously clothes to showing off the Mega Gem's sculpted...er...fluff. I think the Mega Gem's hips might be a little narrower, and with a less defined waist, so the pants slide down a bit. It was mostly a problem with this pair of jeans, the other SID jeans (which now I can't find on the site any more or I'd link them) don't slide down much at all. That said, it's easier to find clothes marketed as fitting SID than marketed as fitting Mega Gem anyway, so...
If your eye glasses mean sun glasses, I recommend these from Alice's collections or any other place that sells these: http://www.acbjd.com/eyeglasses-13-glasses-in-stock-c-107_108.html. They stretch a little on my EID, but should be good for SID. pics:
