I like to fondly refer to my dolls as "my coronaries" because they're high maintenance and have a tendency to do reeeeaaally dumb things when I'm not around, like falling off a shelf or getting dirty when there isn't anything to get dirty on. Thus, they give me coronary heart attacks every day. XD When I'm not mad at them though, I just call them my "dorries".
I called them 'my girls' but I just got my first male doll so I'll have to start calling then 'my dolls' or come up with a new name all together.
Mine are mostly tinies (PukiPukis & RealPukis) so collectively they are my "little peeps". I do have two MSDs so they are my "big girls"
atm just "my dolls" or "the dollies" i used to say my "bjds" but someone i know deliberate took the 'd' out of it and well I don't call them that anymore :///
Overly complicated I can't help it; but depending on who I'm talking to/which dolls I'm referring to I may use - "my dolls", "my collection", "my crew", "my core group" (subset group of dolls within my collection), "my canon group" (specific subset that's part of a storyline).
I call them "Dollfriends" as most of them are at my age (referring to their characters). Its also to distinguish them from real friends.
Generally they're collectively known as "the resin crew" or "the resins," since I have other dolls in the apartment. The MSDs are "the mini crew" or occasionally "the mini horde." I sometimes refer to certain groupings of dolls by their sub-stories or affiliations.
I call them different things but I usually refer to all of them as my "bjd family" or my "crew". I also occasionally refer to them as my "little buddies". Smaller groups within them have names as well, mostly my Lusion and Trinity girls who I call my "big girls".
In general they just get called "my dolls". The official group title though is the Misfit Court (I always had a special place in my heart for the Island of Misfit Toys) and they're all magical or fae of some sort/shape/size that didn't really fit in anywhere else.
Well, I've only got one at the moment but I call him 'Mr.Resin Man' I plan on getting a littlefee- or a yosd I made idk- and calling them my 'Smol resin child' so it depends on the doll ahaha
Collectively I just call them my dolls, but they have little subgroups in that. Like I call my group of YoSDs the Alphabet Gang (since my first YoSD is named Alpha and they're all supposed to be children so I thought it would be cute). All of my female dolls together are called the Girls, and then my boys are called the Guys. I have a certain group of characters that I call the Dorks, too, but that one is interchangeable among all the groups of dollies
I think I will start calling my collection a plaggonar, or more appropriately, a plangonar of dolls.... taken from the word plangonologist-- just because I like the idea of calling my doll collection something unusual like the term 'a murder of crows' denotes a grouping of crows or like several on this list denote groupings of specific animals with unusual terminology other than using 'herd' or 'group'. So someone thoroughly addicted to collecting dolls would be a plangonoholic. A place where one puts one's doll collection would be a plangonarium or a plangondom. Pediophobia, the fear of dolls, should now be referred to as plangonophobia. A plangoneer is someone that creates/sculpts/produces or otherwise makes a useful living from dolls. Plangonical would be a word used to desc ribe items relating to dolls-- so the term plangonical could be used as an adjective, as in 'plangonical wig' (a wig specifically for dolls). Whereas plangonization would be the process of a doll being fully realized as a character with eyes, wig, faceup etc. Plangonscopy would be the term for a doll's arrival box-opening. Whereas a plangontomy would be the selling off of a doll from one's collection. Yeah. I got silly but the word does have potential. And I sure like plangonophibia better than pediophobia lol
I call mine "the Warren"! I only have one right now, but I'll hopefully be getting more soon. And pediophobia.. jfc...
My Dolls/Hoard of Resin... Their website is "Viresse's Haven" -- Tolkien elvish for "april"... and because I have a fair amount of elves with Tolkien names...
It depends on which group you mean. My home is known as "Gypsy House" because I am a traveling dancer. The collection itself is called "The Creeps", or "Creepies", usually in a joking manner. My biggest group is made up of resin and non-resin dolls and known as the "van Helsing-Bryant-Rhyder Clan", and I have three (soon to be five) other dolls besides them--my "Fandom/OC Team", which consists of original characters from Dragon Ball, Soul Eater, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Also, I have a Dollzone order I'm waiting on that has a Sawarieda and Little Bean, who are my "Flower Children".
All my dolls (well, when the next two arrive) are known in my head as my Bobobie's or my Bobo's. Mainly due to my boyfriend not really understanding that there is more than one doll company. So after I'd explained to him that the first bjd to arrive is a Bobobie, and he'd finished laughing at the name, he still calls all bjd's Bobobie and it's stuck. And although my Ariel's name is Bretta, she's called Bo or Bobo all the time. As she is the first bjd, all others are to be called Bobobie's.
My dolls are "the girls" and I don't know what I'll do when I get boy dolls. I sometimes refer to them as "my crew."
I only have one BJD so far, but I'm planning on buying at least two more within the next couple of years, and I already think of them as my "doll family".
My dolls. If I go story wise, the girls are bonded, Lucas and the others are family, friends, or part of the High Counsel.
My crew is The Cupcake Club, and that is also the name I use for my private and public blog and LJ where I share them, off of Den of Angels. For the last several years all of my banners or "Friends Only" images have had my The Cupcake Club tagline with a pixelated cupcake and my watermark/digital signature. Like so:
Other than the Hoard? In general "The Boys" or "My Boys", though now it's "My Boys, plus Nek" Different dolls from the same story will be lumped together, too. There's the Steampunk Crew, the Pilot Boys, The Scroll characters, etc...
I personally just call them "my dolls". We jokingly refer to my home office as "the doll vault" ..and usually that door is closed to visitors. But occasionally..if I have cleaned it up..it will be open for visiting.
I typically just call them the dolls but me and my new roomie both collect different kinds of dolls so mine ended up called "Creepy little fake people" which used to bug me? But now I find hysterical and I like to carry around my floating heads just to watch her make the CLFP face.
well id call them my bb's that is if i had a group i only have one but hes still my bb c: sometimes i get fancy shmancy and say my lil bbs but yeah its an endearing termm i love em to death
"My/The dolls," simple as that, I'm not into calling them kids or a cool team name or anything. Grouping them by size is also common (so, "The SDs" or "The bigger ones," etc, depending on the audience). I don't actually have my second SD yet, so I haven't put it into practice; I can report back if I pick up any new names.
I sometimes call them my wolf 'PACK' recently 'cause I have OC alpha males, beta males and omega males.. That's how I categorize if I need to describe them.
it sounds strange but they are my children cause the characters i made ,the dolls are the physical parts of them, and i can believe in that even with imagination you can create life ^^
I've taken to calling them the Menagerie, but only around people that know the storylines (it references one of the books I'm writing). Otherwise, they're just my kids (or, if I'm referring to certain groups, the Hooved Ones or the Feathered Ones)
The shelf crew, (or the Union and the Confederacy) or the Argonauts, depends what the photostory is at the time.
"My dolls", "my crew" or "my guys". The teens (which excludes the tiny) I call teenyboppers or dorks.
I call mine "The Crew," but I do have a few storylines going on. So if I was to refer to them by their storylines, it would be: Torchwood: Cleveland Crew Tragic Lovers' Triangle Crew The Gravi (Gravitation series) Crew Loveless Crew Mirror Image Twins Crew Hellsing Crew OC Crew Ryu
I tend to refer to the entire group as my crew, but there are subsets. There's the Pukis (two RealPukis), the family (two MSDs and a YoSD), the tinies (two mature YoSDs), and the diva (who is her own group). No originality in naming here, just ease of reference.
I call them "my crew" but two of my minis were, for the longest time, "the sibs" because their characters were siblings. Now I rewrote one of them to be a completely unrelated love interest for the other so obviously that would no longer apply. I also had this super elaborate story idea that I ended up neglecting in favor of a new story for some of the members, so the only ones that are left that I actually refer to as "the Resinoids" (as in Resinoid Initiative, the original story name) are my off topic vinyls, which is rather amusing now that I consider it. I might do more with it with actual resins at some point though- oh, I also call them "my resins" or "my vinyls" depending on which bunch I'm referring to. And Hal and Laika are my "minis" but I think that sort of terminology is fairly common.
"My girls," usually. I don't divide them by category most of the time; they're all part of the same group. If I do make a distinction, it's usually "my antiques" vs. "my modern dolls," because both groups are pretty diverse.
Usually I just call them “my dolls”. They are not a family or a crew so I guess it doesn’t feel right to refer to them as one.
I replied here years ago and I've ended up changing what I call my doll groups slightly after my collection grew in variety. My BJDs get called the 'resin family' and my Dollfie Dream's/Obitsu's get called the 'vinyl crew'
I usually just say my dolls If not i usually go to Hoard, which I also use as a catch all for all of my items. Granted I only have two dolls, so I can easily say their names too I guess.
I don’t really have a group name for them. I just call them my dolls if I ever have to refer to them. But, I normally don’t talk about them at all unless I’m here. Most of my family and friends have other shared interests.
