Wait Times What Companies have the shortest wait time?

Aug 16, 2021

    1. I'm interested in what companies tend to ship in the shortest amount of time. In this case, I would want it to arrive in time for Christmas.

    2. It's really hit or miss with a lot of companies. Are you looking to order a blank doll or a full set with a faceup? These will drastically change your waiting times.
If you're wanting to get it to have it for Christmas you're going to want a company that consistently meets the 3 month goal.
For me, the fastest dolls I've gotten were from Dollmore and Iplehouse.
From Dollmore I ordered a blank zaoll doll and a blank glamor eve body. It shipped after 3 days and I received it literally 7 days after I ordered it. They might have had them already made though and sitting in their warehouse, who knows.
From Iplehouse I ordered an HID Lahela from one of the doll choice sale events and that doll shipped in less than 2 weeks.

    3. currently, the companies with the most consistent wait times appear to be: fairyland, soom, dollmore, granado and resinsoul at around 2-3 months.

i can personally vouch for soom and resinsoul. they were bang-on 3 months to the date for my orders, and for resinsoul i had even ordered a custom cast color.

companies i can say without a doubt to ABSOLUTELY AVOID if you want the barest shot at a christmas delivery are: dollshe, ringdoll, impldoll, dollzone, and i'd also have to say dream valley.

dollshe is the worst offender here, with a minimum 26 month wait time for anything at all and... tbh do NOT touch them at all, mr. dollshe is a straight up scam artist at this point.

but ringdoll isn't far behind. ringdoll seems to have consistent 3-5 months for fullset orders, but if you're ordering blank dolls or parts, it's 6+ months, up to two years. dollzone is also wildly inconsistent and has had particular issues fulfilling full sets. they're anywhere from 6 to 13 months, but a minimum of 6 months for anything at all seems to track. a couple lucky people are getting things sooner, but they appear to be an exception not a standard.

dream valley, meanwhile, i have to include because they were recently betrayed by their shipping service which stalled them for a while. but they also have an inconsistent casting schedule and about an 8+ month wait. they keep holding these limited events causing an influx of orders that they don't finish fulfilling before starting the next big event.

the majority of other companies are around 6 to 9 months at this point. and it really sucks.

oh, but if you do order and decide to use a dealer: DO NOT ORDER FROM BJDIVAS. you can order from a "fast" company through them and i 10000% guarantee you will NOT receive your order any sooner than 7 months.

source: bruh i've spent the better part of the year researching wait times because i want dolls in a remotely reasonable timeframe. yes, it's been a nightmare. the only thing that kept me here after all this was soom giving me my beautiful ID75 in exactly 89 days lol

    4. Volks has standard models that are always in stock and ready to ship!

    5. Adding to what was said, try to order directly if possible. If you have to use a dealer, for example for a Chinese company that is difficult to buy from directly, use a Chinese dealer like Alice's Collection or Clover Singing.

The fastest shipping time you usually have with a blank doll, ordered directly from the company.
Anything you add on (faceup, clothes, full-sets) will slow it down significantly. Same for adding a middle man, even worse if that middle man isn't in the same country like the company.

You could also try and see if there's something on the second hand market that tickles your fancy :3nodding:

    6. Gem of doll has shipped in under 2 months for me before.

But it’s the only one I have experience with this decade.

dollchateau is another to avoid if you want short times.
There’s also the option to look at the in stock options.

    7. I was under 3 months for iplehouse and withdoll shipped exactly 3 months after I ordered. One of my iplehouse dolls shipped after 3 weeks but I think they already had her made for some reason, maybe a buyer backed out of a layaway or they were preparing for an event by making a few ahead.

Edited to add: wait times have changed for iplehouse as of 2023, they have been taking longer so check waiting rooms on companies you are interested in to see what current wait times are like.

    8. I have had really good experience at a wait around or under 3 months from Pipos the last year :D

    9. If there is a dealer in your country, you could look at their in-stock dolls and you will get it probably with a week or two. But in my experience, 3 months is standard for companies like Soom, Withdoll. I tend to do a lot of layaways which sets back the time table.

    10. From personal experience mine have been;
Angel of Dream - Shipped a blank SD in 2 weeks.
Mystic Kids - Shipped a tiny with faceup that I requested a bit different in 3 days.
Myou - Have ordered mutliple tinies from them and the waits have been 1-3 months every time. Blank ones ship much faster (1-1.5 months) while those with faceups I waited longer on (around 3 months).

There's always in stock and secondhand options. US dealers get different stock every month or so so check back every so often for new arrivals.

    11. Aside from processing time, I’d keep in mind that shipping slows down considerably as we approach holiday season and the majority of dolls you preorder will be from overseas sources. Even a doll ordered today finished in 3 months exactly may struggle to make it for Christmas depending on your luck. If that’s a hard deadline for you, I’d watch for in-stock options from a same-country/region dealer and order prior to December.

    12. The fastest has been Piposdoll for me. I ordered a full doll with faceup back in Jan 2020 and they shipped him in a little more than a month!

Like others have suggested, you can also look into in-stock dolls at the various dealers as those are basically ready-to-ship. However, you might want to avoid Dolks as it seems like a number of people have had to chase them about shipping even for supposedly in-stock items...

If you don't mind second-hand, you could also look at the options on Mandarake and Dollyteria. They are pretty good at disclosing any defects on their dolls. Mandarake often ships either the same day or the next day after receiving your payment. Dollyteria takes a little longer as they check their stock only after you make payment (they are quick to refund you if your order is out-of-stock) while Mandarake checks stock first before asking for payment.

    13. You could look at the Junkyspot, since they keep stock.

    14. I 100% agree with @Zest. Avoid Dollshe at all cost.

    15. Okay.... Just don't look at my waiting list. >_>;;

    16. Angel of Dream usually ships out in less than a month. My ResinSoul girl shipped in two months and is set to arrive tomorrow. My Impldoll girl I ordered earlier this year shipped in 3 months, BUT her shipping took another three months. EMS from China right now is super slow, and I'm sure will get worse with the holiday rush, so if you do find a doll that will ship in time, I suggest paying for FedEx or DHL shipping, if it's an option.

    17. Comi Baby!! I highly recommend them :) They are very responsive and have lovely customer service.
(Edit: And their dolls are just SO sweet <3 )

I ordered dolls that had a listed 3ish month wait time - and they arrived in a month!

I'm sure if you had any concerns about timing you could reach out and ask them what their current estimate is :)

    18. Most of my quickest orders were from ones already listed here-- my Iple shipped in 2 weeks, my Angel of Dream shipped in 3 weeks. I've also gotten an order from Doll Family H and an order from Angelsdoll that took about one month to ship.

      • x 3
    19. Volks was the fastest with in stock dolls arriving to me the same month I ordered.

Dollmore only took two months for an in stock fullset, which is still really good!

There’s also doll retailers in your chosen country(if they have them) with an in stock section of different doll companies, I waited two months for those.

Avoid Asleep Eidolon preorders if you’re on a time crunch because you’re going to be waiting almost a year.

    20. My myou doll that I ordered last year arrived in about 1.5 months. It was with a faceup and wig as well. I was pleasantly surprised, as comparatively my first ever bjd took about 8 months to arrive from loongsoul back in the day.

    21. I order a Withdoll Cathy (with face up) from the company on Jul 2nd 2022, and it arrived on Aug 24, 2022. Less than 2 months.

    22. Huajing, I ordered her on 18 april and she was ready on early june.

      • x 1
    23. Withdoll is very fast! Took just over 2 months to get my JWD Jiho Scowling (with beautiful company face-up).

      • x 1
    24. Dreaming Doll was 6 weeks for me. With TTYA I must have ordered one they had in stock but listed wait on the website is 60-75 business days.

    25. I ordered a Kids Sky Coral and it was shipped 2 weeks later (with faceup included!)

      • x 1
    26. I don't know about Volks US, but I ordered a standard, Nico, through Volks JP and it's been a bit over a month (27/07) and she's not ready yet, but I did order satogaeri sanding service.

    27. So agreeing with everyone else, and also adding: purchasing a face-up will add to your wait times. Having said that, as someone who bought a LOT of dolls in 2023, here's what my experiences has been. Note that all quoted wait times are based on payment in full. Many companies (Iplehouse in particular) will not start working on your doll until they have received full payment.

      • In-stock dolls from Denver Doll Emporium, Fabric Friends and Dolls, Doll Peddlar, and Alice's Collections - received within a week of payment.
      • Angel of Dream - lightning fast. Doll with face-up from order (in China) to my house (in Ohio, USA) in 2 weeks. Almost the same wait time as an in-stock doll, and face-ups match promo pictures. I cannot praise this company enough. Affordable, fast, and good, heavy resin.
      • Dreaming Doll - about 1 month from payment to shipping for blank orders, 2 months with face-up for a Queen Elva doll (the largest female body they offer) with face-up and multiple hand/feet options.
      • Withdoll - full JWD (1/4) scale doll with face-up and all optional hands and feet in 2 months from payment to shipping.
NOTE: do NOT order directly from Withdoll's website - getting an account is a PITA, and it's not secure (my PayPal got hacked). Decide on your order, then email them to request an invoice and ask them to create an account for you.
      • Resinsoul - about 2 months from order to shipping, including custom order requests and/or face-ups. Another company I cannot praise enough. Their promo pictures are slowly getting better. The dolls are much better looking in person. Get a professional face-up, and I think you'll be very pleased.
      • Impldoll - blank dolls within 2 months (unless they are running a promotion, or they release a new body that everyone wants). Dolls with face-ups, and the popular new body, take 3 to 5 months. Face-ups have changed from promo pictures. Their prior sculptor/face-up artist permanently left the company due to family health reasons during COVID, and the new person has never met a Pearl-Ex powder they didn't like. (SHINY)
NOTE 1: PayPal did not like their invoices and kept flagging the invoices as fraudulent. If this happens to you, ask Impldoll for their PayPal email address and send payment that way. Impldoll will cancel the PayPal invoice after they receive payment. This is critical for time-limited layaways.
Note 2: Impldoll released a new Star body that has taken the collector world by storm. I suspect they've received a lot more orders than they thought they were going to. I'm now on month 3 of my wait.
      • Dollmore: about 2-3 months from order to shipping if they have to make anything; a couple weeks for most items on their website, which are in stock.
      • Iplehouse - used to be under 3 months, but they've slowed down quite a bit. I believe they've lost more people. Expect 4 to 6 months.

      And the slowest:
Dollshe - questionable whether you will ever receive a doll at all, especially one purchased on sale. Dollshe just takes money... and never ships. The mods have stated that if he ever returns to this forum, he will be flagged as a questionable company with poor service. If you go to the waiting room, several people have made claims with Korean legal authorities. Dollshe has ignored them.
Miracle doll - as in, it's a miracle if you receive your doll in under a year.
Charm doll - someone was recently quoted 18 months from order to shipping. Face-ups can be of varying quality.
Dream Valley/Doll Chateau - it pains me to say this, but expect at least a 9-month wait. They make incredibly complicated dolls. Expect long wait times. Face-ups and body blushing are pretty good, but body blushing can arrive already chipped. DV/DC use shipping proxies in China, which are basically the Wild West of shipping. Proxies have been known to remove dolls from boxes and repack them poorly. Dolls have arrived with stains/smudges. Dealers have received dolls packed terribly in large boxes with the smaller boxes inside destroyed. Also, DV special resin colors are gorgeous, but they sand, which shows up on special resin colors.
This may sound like I'm not a fan of DV/DC dolls, but totally the opposite - they are my favorite companies. I just want you to be forewarned about what to expect.
Also, the person who strings DV dolls - I call him the BJD Hulk. Some of the tightest stringing I've ever experienced. The dolls are strung so tightly, they creak. I bet he goes to arm wrestling competitions and cleans house for extra pocket money (I'm joking - mostly).
One more edit: Dream Valley dolls arrive stinky. VERY stinky. I suspect but don't know for sure that the boxes and packing foam are stored in the same room where they seal their face-ups/body blushing, cuz I'll open a box, and PHEW MSC. You're going to want to leave your box open somewhere it can air out for a few days.
DV is my favorite company, in spite of all of this. Just - forewarned is forearmed.

    28. I'd suggest staying away from Dolkus, even for in stock dolls, if you want the doll to ship quickly.
I've never used them myself but there are multiple reviews regarding issues with buying through them, and a local here has been waiting on an in-stock item to ship for over a month now.

Ordering those services can drastically extend your wait times, but the dolls are gorgeous and the optional services are really well done.

    29. Glad to hear! She'll be my first new Volks (to arrive, because I have an FCS in progress via an agent also with satogaeri service), but all my secondhand dolls have been sanded beautifully.

    30. As many people said before, Volks.
Everytime I've ordered from them my doll arrived within two weeks (standard doll, no extra service etc)

    31. I got a doll with face up from Chicabi in just 2 weeks :aeyepop: I thought she must have been ready stock to arrive so fast, but they list in-stock dolls on their website and she was not among them :?

    32. Supia is pretty fast in my experience. I ordered a Giyom at the end of December and he arrived in early March! :)
