I don't really fancy pink but I have many pink clothing for my little dolls!! Well, they do look really cute in pink though.. Okay, I really need to buy some new doll clothes for my little dolls! All in different colors! Only 1 pink!
I am totally guilty for having too much black and red... then again, black and red are what I tend to wear, so it's partially just from me defaulting to what I would wear and partially because most of my characters are grim reapers and I suppose it just works with backstories and what generally looks like it would suit them..
With Vince, anything and everything goes... but with Pete, almost everything I've ever bought him is white and/or pink. He had one hoodie that was mostly blue with just a little pink accent (which I lost while moving house, before I could even get pictures of him in it, so I guess it wasn't meant to be-- he just has to keep to his color scheme!)... and he has a pair of wine-colored stockings that he's claimed for the time being, and some shorts that only have pink as an accent to the blue, but really all his things fit into a definite color scheme. ... I guess I buy pink most of all, because my favorite of Vince's shirts happens to be pink as well... only Billy doesn't wear any pink. I haven't really bought any clothes for Marigold, just some materials to make things for her (all oranges and reds at the moment), but there are pink flowers in her first wig...
I tend to buy dark color clothes for my dolls, black, dark green, dark brown etc. even the small 1/6 has a lot of black clothes.
I personally lean towards pastel pinks, usually offset by soft greys when I catch myself loading on too much of a single color. I find that my eyes are immediately drawn to the color, so I'm a bit biased when I look for dolly clothes I also like to dress vicariously through my dolls,so anything I can't afford or are too self-conscious to wear, my dolls wear for me - which means even more pastel pink, usually in styles that I don't have the confidence for.
Wait, you mean doll clothes come in something other than black ,white, and pink?! Sarcasm aside. I make 9/10 of my own I am a skilled seamstress with a passion for jewel toned silk. Only Freedom Teller and a few really stellar seamstresses who all seem to be from Russia make stuff I really like. What's up with that? Does everyone in Russia sew like seraphim?
I also do all my own sewing for my dollies. I like to use bold colors, both jewel-tones, and really rich earthy colors. I also like to use fabric I already have on hand, so that's a determining factor as well. But each of my dolls has a particular style, so I play to that: stripes, plaids and solids mostly for the boys, florals and shimmers for the girls. Well ok... every one gets shimmer Sparkle is my favorite color!
I won't buy grey (we hates it we does!), and I try to avoid pastel pinks (although I have one doll who insists on wearing pink!) but I dress my gang in pretty much any other colour although each of the SD gang seems to gravitate toward a particular colour (or small palette of colours) in their clothing. For me it depends on the doll! My two actual BJDs right now are both darker personalities; one is a punk girl and the other has a more elegant gothic/witchy style, so their clothes are dark. I prefer lighter and cuter clothes, so I'm slowly on the hunt for a girl that suits that style too.
It depends on my doll's personality or favorite color - I also like to choose colors that bring out their individual beauty. I have a lavender-pink skinned girl & she frequently wears shades of purple or grey to enhance her unique coloring.
I think I like striking Colours most! I generally prefer getting uniquely beautiful outfits (that I personally never dared wearing out in public) for my dolls so they can live out my dream for me
I have been purchasing a lot of blues, blacks, and whites. It's the same way when I go clothes shopping for myself in real life. I cannot avoid the blues!
I either do pastels ( pinks ,whites and purples) or dark like red and black ^__^ Mostly whites. I have a think for white clothing. white and gold accent
I think I prefer the more natural looking dyes, so I tend to stray away from neon or really bright colours. At the moment my favourite colour scheme is the colours of fall, aka shades of red, orange, brown, green & purple.
I typically keep the default outfit for a doll, but for those that do not have a fullset, I usually pick out neutral colors (greys, blacks, whites).
Currently, I have mostly brown, though I don't have much clothes at all yet! I'm planning for a trio of SDs with one dressed in pink, one in brown and another in yellow!
Neutral colors mostly, with the exception being blue jeans. I want to expand the colors and styles I get though, especially once I get the rest of the dolls I want.
It depends on what I want to make for the specific doll. I like putting Okita in black, red, or autumn darks etc because that's how I imagined him. Hui, my newer boy, is a different personality so I've been envisioning a lot of white, or brighter more youthful color palettes for him.
Dark colors lol. Black & gray mostly but i do have whites and browns to go with them and a little touch of red
For me, each of my dolls tends to have a very different and distinctive aesthetic, so what colors I buy vary pretty vastly across dolls. For Bridget, I buy in basically only black, red, and white, Amelia gets muted pastels and white (though she's also starting to be a serial sweater thief), and once his body arrives, Jonah will be wearing browns, white and shades of off-white, and some greens!
I tend to like clothes colors that I like... not for clothes for myself, but just pretty colors. I like a lot of colors... jewel tones, mostly (purple, green, sapphire, deep aqua, burgundy, gold), and black and white. I don't tend to like pastels, but if it suits the style and look I want, I'll go for that.
I can't stop myself from gravitating towards pastels and blacks, but then I also occasionally love browns and mossy greens. I guess it's colors that I enjoy wearing myself.
I try to not to stick on certain clothes colors as but my taste is mainly to pastel blues, whites and blueish-grey, but it also depend if I found unusual color I don't have, I would buy it (I found a dress that I can buy in either pastel pink or pastel green, the pink one was prettier but I choose green because I don't own that color in my dolls clothes ) and of course it's depend of which doll I'm buying the clothes for as each doll look good in certain colors
My dolls mostly wear black but it really for me depends on the doll's character and what fits them. Some of them wear pastel, some of them only black, some of them wear all kinds of colors. Mostly I still buy black clothes ha ha
I mostly have grey clothes for my SD boys. I'm usually not a big fan of this color but for some reason it fits them so well. ^^ My other dolls mostly wear pastel clothes.
I prefer pink, red or purple but, I care more about the girly Victorian/Lolita style of the clothes than I do about the colour. One colour that usually doesn't appeal to me is white because white old-fashioned dresses remind me too much of bridal gowns and confirmation dresses.
My brain: Black stains dolls...don't do this Me, a gothic mess: Gotta get...another pair of...black pants
Dorrie has that classic early 00’s goth style so most of her clothes are black or dark gray (with dashes of red or green). Thankfully her limited palette/style mean I don’t buy every single nice piece of slim msd clothing that I come across.
Most of the clothes I've eyeballed for my dolls tend to be red or blue, mostly because I'm a red fanatic. Sasha will have a lot of red things for sure; Luca's tastes are a bit more flexible, so she'll probably get blues or pastels or more cute/fun colors.
I usually buy or make pink and white clothes as a base. And then I add other colors that match with the base I like black color and I found some nice black clothes but I'm too afraid it stains my doll to buy it
I don't have a favorite color for a doll to wear so nothing special. Got clothes from all colors but i believe my dolls looks best in red
All the stuff I've bought so far is dark colours, black, navy blue although a top I've bought is like a baseball shirt so it has some white in it! Haven't bought much so far cuz I'm pretty new to the hobby! For my girl Soren she'll have quite neutral, lighter colours and I think her brother will be the same. Apart from them everyone will be dressed quite dark, think that's a reflection of me xD
I actually have a lot of things with pink and yellow. But it's less of a conscious decision and more of what is available in the style that I am looking for and went I have money. lol.
I guess for me, it depends on what doll that I'm buying for... I usually go for black stuff with either purple or res as an accent... or I go for soft and pastel-y stuff... with not a lot of in between. X3
I'm trying to branch out a little, but so far my dolls mostly wear casual street clothes, including jeans and tees. The colors seem to be faded denim, with tees in gray, blue, white and black. The one exception is my dark chocolate Mika from Miro Doll. She is wearing a wine red cardigan and floral trousers with suspenders. She looks so cute in that outfit. I really need to do better for my other dolls, especially the girls.
I always wind up making a lot of black/blue/red/pink clothes. Greens are more for tropical themed outfits. One time a meetup I went to was a Candy Theme. So I made all my dolls clothes themed to candy. Black and Grey + Licorice, Electric blue and baby pink + cotton candy, black and purple - jelly beans, pale pink and white - strawberries and cream.
All my Dolls wear particular colors : Amaryllis (my DZ Reiko) wear the most, blue clothes, whereas Lluvia (my other DZ) wear most of the time black clothes. I imagine she loves leopard pattern too, so she wear this pattern a lot. x) Finally Fox (my SD Illusion Spirit) wear black clothes and a lot of T-shirt with funny or ridiculous patterns. (He has a magnifique one in particular, with Grumpy Cat on it ... I'm very proud of this T-shirt. )
